Review long overdue as I have been a T&G customer and monthly member for over 2+yrs now. Simply our every technician has been phenomenal. I've used plumbing and heating. And soon I'll use the electrical service. Every technician has been informative, answered every question I've had. Never felt pressured to get something I did not need. Very clean and very professional. Always Recently I had a service repair for my HVAC by Dion Bruce. OUTSTANDING. Not just was the service or repair correct and quick, he was clean and caring but he discovered an error neither my account. Worked with the company to get that resolved. Never would have known there was a small error unless he pointed it out. Folks over the years I've had my AC, HVAC, Plumbing, Sump pumps replaced and repaired: all with T&G. Every single technician has been as outstanding. Use T&G for all your Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical needs .
I had a plumbing problem today, and needed help fast. My main drain was backing up into my basement. So knowing that most plumbing companies are way too expensive and usually have long waiting times, I wasn't sure who to call. Then I remembered that Thomas & Galbraith had a Commercial that talked about be knowledgeable, fast and affordable. So I gave them a call, and I'm so glad that I did because they fixed my problem, fast and affordable. And will be following up to inform me on what caused the problem, and if there's any solution to prevent it from happening again. And their price was very fair and affordable, VERY AFFORDABLE! If you've used them before then you already know, but for those of you like me, you must give them call. You won't believe their service and fees! And this isn't a discount for a review like most companies would have you do, which isn't a true review at all. I don't participate in those. We need more true reviews, so that people know who the good companies really are, which helps all of us! Clemy Lee
Not sure if the company is Galbrath and Thomas or prestige air and heat repair, but today 1/14/26 I had a tech by the name of Dave come by and fix my heating system within 30 mins. He was very professional and equipped. His service was speedy and done properly. I didn’t not get his last name and I’m hoping I have his first correct but I anted to give him a nice review because he definitely deserved it!
They came out to do a repair on my furnace at one of my rental properties. I only had them come out because my usual guy was unavailable. His price to repair was over $8,000.00. Insane! I ended up waiting for my guy to go out. He replaced my furnace for $2500.00.
I am often asked if I would recommend Thomas and Galbraith. No, is my answer.. The new heating and cooling systems were guaranteed to hit all parts of the home and did not. They addressed the problem blaming my home for the system failure. Those concerns were never added as the put on the systems and had first hand view of the home and should have used their hours of training to identify and then discuss with me the situation. Did not happen during installation and I paid in full. As heating and cooling were not adequate, that's when my home was to blame.
RUN!! TERRIBLE SERVICE! If 0 stars was possible I'd give it, but I'll have to settle for 1. We will be reporting them to the BBB. We had to get another company to fix because Thomas and Galbraith never fixed the issue. They stole about 5k from us and never kept their word to call us back nor fix the issue. A month ago, we noticed our AC was not working, the line from outside to the house was frozen, and there was liquid on the floor inside, so we called to get it looked at and fixed. The first technician came to take a look at it, and stated that the issue was a leaking coil on the internal unit, and stated that replacing the indoor coil would be a guaranteed fix. We were told it would be a 4-6 hour job, and the job took 8 hours with 2 techs working. During that time, they were informed that everyone in the home worked from home, taking phone calls, and during the repairs the two began using a brazier, filling the basement with smoke and setting off both the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. Instead of informing us that this was expected, the technicians left the home and walked to their truck, leaving us to panic. When we attempted to ask for more communication during the process, the technicians slammed our door in our faces, stating they "didn't hear us" talking to them, despite only being a few feet away. After they finished, they charged us $5k and went on their way, and the AC worked for a few days, before the exact same problem presented itself; so we called back to have them come fix it again, requesting to speak to a supervisor. We were contacted by Rod, the manager, and were told that if anything was wrong with the AC system, they would fix it free of charge, as long as nothing outside the AC system caused the problem, such as the foundation shifting. Once they sent out the Technician Supervisor, Caleb, he told us the exact opposite, stating Rob had told him that if it was anything they had touched in the repair, it would be paid for, but otherwise we would be charged for it. When we asked to have Rob called in order to clear up any miscommunication, Caleb stated that it wasn't necessary and refused to call. He spent the next 4 hours checking for why the same issue was presenting itself, eventually concluding that the previous technicians had not put enough refrigerant into the system, and that was why the AC was icing up and there was liquid on the floor. Caleb added more refrigerant to the system, and the AC began to work again for a few more days. Just as a precaution, we had them send someone out to quote us on replacing the entire AC system, and we were told that they could give us $4k off for work already done and it would cost $12k after the discount. We thanked them and, thinking the system had been fixed, went about our lives, before the EXACT same issue began to present itself again. We called back and had them send someone else out to look it over, and when the day rolled around, the technician, Caleb, called and stated that, because he had already looked at it, there was no point in him coming out as he had other calls to take care of. We were treated as a waste of time, despite the fact that we had NO AC and it was over 90 degrees. We were scheduled for the next day at 1pm, which got shifted to 2pm with no explanation. The technician arrived at 1:45pm and stayed in his truck until 2pm before looking at our system. After another 1.5 hours of looking, the technician stated that there was ACTUALLY a leak in one of the coils on the OUTSIDE unit, and when asked if that was something that the other techs should have caught, the technician said that they had "better equipment, but it was possible it was missed." before being told it would be ANOTHER $5k to fix the issue. Upon mentioning that we were advised wrong and were already charged $5k to fix the issue, the technician shrugged, stating they could try to have a supervisor call us, but it could take up to 2 days to hear from them, during the hottest week of the summer. If this is how members are treated, i can't imagine how poorly they treat non-members. NEVER choose these CROOKS, they will lie to you, take your money, do a terrible repair job, and when they don't fix the problem, they will charge more to fix THEIR mistakes
T&G replaced our hot water heater at the end of September. The price was the lowest of three estimates (and included parts, labor, and permitting) and so we chose them. The two gentlemen who installed the hot water heater were kind and professional. However, the very next day we went to run our washer and immediately heard something that can only be described as 'house shaking slamming' coming from our basement. We ran down and watched all of our pipes violently shake every time the water turned on and off from our washer. The entire hot water heater would rock and shake in the pan. I've never seen anything like it. Additionally, any valve we would open then shut off in the home (flushing the toilet, turning the sinks on and off) would produce a less dramatic version of this loud slamming. I called T&G and got them out there right away. The manager that came did an inspection and then quickly decided our pressure reducer from the street was bad (this was just a guess, it was testing fine and had tested fine on the day of installation as well). He said he would replace it for $500. I told him that we were not going to pay a dollar to have anything replaced, as we had no plumbing issues prior to the day we had a new hot water heater installed. The only thing that had changed with our plumbing between one day and the next was that two gentlemen from T&G had spent an afternoon working on our plumbing. The manager said that our plumbing breaking on the day that T&G began working on our plumbing was "pure coincidence" and against all odds. He then told me that if push came to shove and I wouldn't pay then he could "allege that we had sabotaged it ourselves and we couldn't prove him wrong". He called his manager and I overheard his manager say that "If some part of our plumbing broke in the process of them working on it, it's not their fault". This company has a complete lack of accountability. Much arguing ensued and eventually he agreed to rifle around downstairs until he fixed the problem. He's not sure how he fixed the problem, but he did finally. When I asked how the permitting would be scheduled with the county, he said they'd take care of it immediately and to expect a call in the next week or two. A month passes with no call from the county. I called T&G and was made aware that no one ever sent in a request with the county to have this permitted. A full month later, T&G finally advises the county that we need permits. Another week passes with no call from the county. I call T&G again and am given the run around. A week passes. I call T&G and am told T&G will call me in 48 hours. 48 hours passes with no call. I call T&G yet again, am told there's nothing they can do and they don't even know what department to call at the county/city. We just sold our home and in two days it is due to be inspected by a home inspector. We are still in limbo and our hot water heater will not have any of its permits. This company completely lacks accountability and its managers are unprofessional. I nearly gave it two stars for the kindness of its installers and it's good price but decided that one star was best, since our water heater wasn't properly installed and we still haven't gotten what we paid for (other companies will install the hot water heaters cheaper but they won't be permitted).
This letter is an email my father sent to the president of Thomas & Galbraith. I hope whoever thinks about using this company's service will choose a different company. It's been a nightmare for my dad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can't tell you how much I regret choosing Thomas & Galbraith to do my plumbing. We just wanted a new water heater installed, and while we were at it, replace the mix of materials making up our water pipes in the basement. After choosing Thomas & Galbraith to do this - what we thought was a - simple job, we've had to: call in Duke Energy because of the gas leak we had after your workers had left for the day; replace our gas lines; have an electrician come in to fix our electrical panel after your plumber shorted out the panel (twice!) trying to ground the gas lines they had to install; have Duke Energy come in - again -- to make the electrical box safe to work on; have a chimney guy come in to fix the chimney because the hot water heater is not properly vented , which should have been determined before work began. A $3985 job is now going to cost us about $10,000 due to your company's ineptitude. But that's just the big stuff. Also: When your guys installed the hot water heater, they installed the hot and cold water lines backwards. We had hot water coming out of our cold faucets, cold water coming out of our hot faucets, and hot water in our toilet tanks. When they fixed the reversal of the hot and cold water lines after we pointed out their foul-up, instead of going back to a line where the lines would come straight out, they put in four 90° angles, in the most conspicuous spot possible. A Rube Goldberg job. Without asking us first, they cut holes in the new sink we had bought for this project, and fastened our washing machine drain hose with solder through these holes. They weren't able to do, and so didn't do, a simple job of replacing the wood that was behind the old pipes when they replaced them. We've had to clean everything they touched. They threw their tools on our appliances without putting a towel or rag or something down first. We found pieces of solder and flux everywhere - including in towels that were nearby, and tape and other trash just tossed on our floors. And here's the best: We still don't have hot water. Because your technicians never checked to see if the hot water heater would vent properly before they installed it, we - that's right, WE - have had to check into reconstructing our chimney, or installing another water heater with a power vent, which would have to run across our entire basement, about the level of my head, or find another way. So we have to run the water heater for an hour while we open all the basement doors and windows, and run fans down there, and make sure our carbon monoxide monitor is working properly, and then turn the water heater off and use the warm water left in the tank conservatively for a day or so. Then we do it again. If I were President of this company, I would be embarrassed to provide this kind of service we got.
Having had previous work done by Thomas & Galbraith, it's no surprise I called them back when I recently had backing up in my basement toilet and floor drain. The tech showed up on a rainy day, and within minutes called a supervisor - not sure why as he attempted no work or made no effort to find a resolution. Once the supervisor arrived, I realized what was happening - they were going to try and game me for a fool. Same guy I dealt with 4 years ago. Initially they said it was too wet to run an auger down the drain due to standing water (the plumber that came later that day, by himself, was able to do it, safely) The supervisor, Josh, goes on to tell me - looking like you have tree roots blocking your line, we're unable to do anything today, but I can give you a quote on what a replacement is going to cost. Told me, you likely have some cracks in your plumbing or collapsed pipes, a spot treatment could be done for $6K, a lining for $12k or a full main line replacement for $15k. Again, without trying to auger the lines first. When these two left, I had no functioning plumbing at all. Told me I'd hear from them later that day - didn't get a follow up until the next day after I had already had my pipes hydro jetted and cleared. I had a smaller plumbing company come out that day, a lone plumber was able to auger my lines, break up the clog and get me flowing that day by himself. Him and one guy returned the next day, hydro jetted my lines, video recorded everything in the lines, and gave me a maintenance plan to maintain functioning plumbing for years to come. This was done without destroying my yard, costing me an arm and leg and by some honest professionals who are about taking care of their customers, not making every single penny they can scare people out of. Everything I had done which was to auger my lines and hydro jetting was done for about $1,200. Surely beats $15k, I think. Funny enough - their promo video on their site says they "are highly ethical and they aren't pushed to sell parts or service" I will never call Thomas & Galbraith again - I hope for you and anyone you know money and peace of mind, if you call this company, you at least do yourself a service of getting a second opinion. It could save you literally thousands. I fully understand a business is out to make money and to try and upsell people, but completely freaking people out, lying to them and trying to take advantage of them in a panic situation just doesn't seem right!
I have mixed feelings about writing this review because I have used Thomas and Galbraith on another project a few years ago and I was very satisfied and wrote a positive review. But I feel so taken advantaged of that I plan to post this review wherever I can. Because of how they handled my previous problem I didn't hesitate to call them again. We had some flooding in part of our basement last year so I called Thomas and Galbraith and asked if someone could come out and correct the problem. They promptly responded and sent a young man out to check our problem. When he arrived, I explained that my wife has Alzheimer's and from time to time I be taking care of her. He inspected the flooded area and immedicably he told me he "does not to cleanups." I told him that if he could stop the flooding I will cleanup the water using my WetVac and towels. He came to me and explained that the sewer was clogged and needed to be opened (and had me sign for that) and that the bill would be about $250 and the warranty would be for one year. While I was preparing lunch for my wife he came back up to me again to have me sign for him to install plastic pipes that were a bit larger than the ones already installed because he said the current pipes were inadequate. That increased the bill to $432.00. Being in my late 70's and on a fixed income it seemed like a lot of money to me, but apparently, I did not have a choice. Fortunately. I took pictures to provide to my insurance company. About 3-4 months later the basement flooded again. I decided to call another company and asked them to come out. Within 5 minutes the representative pointed out to me where the water was coming from and he fixed the problem with a very simple solution. Once again, I took pictures because I planned to write to Thomas and Galbraith, which I did. I explained my dissatisfaction and told them ai was planning to write a review. There was not much of a response. If I could give Thomas and Galbraith less than a single star, I would. I have to admit, it seemed like this young man was working very hard to increase the amount of what the final bill would be, but he had no idea how to correct the situation, and he didn't. The flooding had nothing to do with a clogged drain, or the size of the pipes leading to the drain. Pure incompetence.
If you're debating listening to the bad reviews on here or if it could really be *that bad* - please listen. If I could give 0 stars I would. We have had issue after issue with this company and it is getting ridiculous. Unless you want to be stuck without ability to use your kitchen for a month - pick someone else. We were unable to use our kitchen/laundry for a whole month because of these people. 1. We originally had a plumber come out to diagnose leaking in our basement. They diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes (clearly not enough) came out to fix it and lo and behold we paid 3 grand to have the same issue the day after they left. Completely misdiagnosed the issue because they didn't listen to us and did it in 5 minutes. 2. They came back out to fix the REAL problem and charged us for it, they took a small amount off the price but not nearly as much as they should considering the first appointment didn't fix the issue at all and the plumbing manager took 3WEEKS TO GET BACK TO US TO SCHEDULE THIS. In the meantime we couldn't use our kitchen for 3 weeks. 3. They then said we should have our pipes scoped to make sure everything looked ok for free. They came out and did so and suggest we hydrojet our pipes. we agreed and made an appointment for today. 4. Not only did they not show up for the appointment today, the guy who scoped our pipes before CAUSED A BACKUP. We went from no issues to not being able to use our kitchen now again. And the best part - they won't come fix it now until Wednesday even though THEY MISSED THE APPOINTMENT TODAY. We have 0 ability to use our kitchen or laundry until late next week. For a total of a whole month without our kitchen because of them. I expect much better service and turnaround time for an issue you created, especially after the many issues you have caused for us. The one nice thing I'll say is at least the plumbers we've worked with have been pleasant. Other than that - 0. Listen to the reviews, they cause nothing but issues and headaches and don't own up to their mistakes. We couldn't be more frustrated right now.
Zero stars if that were an option!!! They came and charged $98 to visit and provide a quote (fine). They said that they would need 2 guys and to rent a 16 ft ladder (fine). Accepted contract for $1030 where 1st line stated that they would take down my chandelier, secure it in the attic if needed, and to reinstall it. Guy said that would be the very max and that if it could be tightened under the canopy and quicker then likely $600. They came said that the ladder they brought (and charged me $400 to rent) was not enough and needed scaffolding (their error not mine, but charged me for mistake). Said it is 200 lb but under 100lbs and a standard builder grade light. They put the canopy back and then went into attic said the support there needed to be bolted. They started and then I heard cracking noises, the dry wall started cracking from below and the base attaching the chandelier to the 20 ft high ceiling dropped an inch. Yelled for them to stop since the light looked like it was going to fall since what they did made it worse vs better. One guy went up on ladder and inspected and told other to stop and that it was in the process of falling and only now being held up by the aircraft wire. They said it needed to come down (fine since it was included in contract that I agreed to included in the $1030). They took it down and went to pack up leaving me with a hole in my ceiling, a chandelier on the floor, and a $1030 bill that they made me pay. They then gave me another quote for $1720 on top of the 1030 I just paid to finish the job that was supposed to be covered in the original contract ie strengthening the structure in the attic, and reinstalling the same chandelier (see quote attachments). So essentially they charged me almost $1128 to make the situation worse than it was to begin with thus necessitating them to remove the chandelier. They then tried to charge me almost 3x the price contracted for once my chandelier was on the floor. Called manager on Friday and still have not heard back several days later. This is a bait and switch company. Beware!!!
I had a service call today. Keith Mynatt was my technician. We had him come out to look at our furnace unit in our mobile home, the problem was the furnace was running fine but wasn't warming the house. When he came in he did everything on a "checklist" to asses the problem. But everything was coming back as working fine. He seem flustered/confused. He made multiple phone calls asking "Bob" for help on figuring out what the problem could be. He then proceed to take the unit a part and check the flam tray and wiring. He stated the wire was a little burnt and then wrapped it in electrical tape and started putting everything bad together. He struggled to get a piece back on and started to bang it into place. We he put all the screws back on he turned the unit back on and now it is making a lot screeching noise. He immediately said I've got to run out to my truck real quick. Came back and gave me a 1200+ quote for the piece the he banged into place and said this needs replaced. I was pissed. He caused an issue that wasn't even broken before he took it apart. He also told me duke needed to come out immediately and check my gas because it was set manufacturing too high, after he ran out of here duke came and said he didnt know what he was talking about that my gas was fine. They looked at the unit and said, this guy didnt know what he was talking about /doing, loose bolts and giving misinformation, he was trying to get out of here fast, He seem as through he didn't know what to do, confused on what he did. I paid the initial 100 for the inspection fee. I am not happy with my service at all! I am having another inspection done Monday to fix whatever more damage was do on top of what the initial problem was. Duke energy and another technician i have coming Monday both said please never call thomas and galbraith again! They don't hire guys who know what their doing. They both knew about their horrible technicians and services! Please learn from me and go somewhere else. Don't waste your money and you'll have to pay more to fix whatever they mess up!
I had been using T&G for the past two years to do tune ups on my AC and furnace. I had no complaints until recently. Our furnace had been working fine throughout the winter and last week, their technician came for a regular tune up. No issues were found. Their technicians seem to be pretty solid and well-trained. However, Three days later, the system goes thru a complete shutdown. After calling out another tech, we find that it's a faulty valve that has shorted. As part of that visit, they did a more thorough visit and find that the hear exchangers are quite worn and cracked. Ok, those are big things and our system was pretty old so we opted to buy a new furnace. The next day, they do the install. Everything seems to go smoothly. The heater is running, the house is warm. Great! The next day, the system shuts down. Tech comes out again and we find that the blower motor is malfunctioning. The tech replaced it and the system works again. That night, the system shuts down again. Tech comes again the next day and finds that the system shorted itself and another valve is allowing too much gas so it's heating too quickly. So they make an adjustment, the system works. Now tonight, the system has again shut itself down. I should mention that the 24/7 assistance claim is just a load of BS at this point. I have now called their line after 9 pm 4 times. Each time, the answering service takes my info but I never get a call back from anyone. It's Feb and it has recently snowed and it's freezing outside and I have no heat in the house (which I noted to the operator). At least a phone call from the on call tech would have been nice. As of tomorrow, I will have had 4 visits from them in 4 days and I'm not sure that they'll be able to fix the issue. My confidence in this company is totally shot. I should also mention that because I had to call them so many times, I lost my 3 day weekend due to waiting for them. And despite all of this, no one from their management has reached out to understand how they could win back my trust.
STAY AWAY! These people are underhanded predatory scammers. They let the freon out of our unit! We signed up for the monthly service agreement in September 2023 for plumbing and HVAC. They performed the preventative maintenance on the plumbing first on 9/5/23. It seemed to go great with Robbie. So we scheduled to get our PM service done on our HVAC system before winter arrived. Elyas came out on 9/18/23 and quoted all kinds of issues. I believed him at that time. However, our 21-year-old system was working as it should. Therefore, we weren't going to replace it. However, we did allow Elyas to replace the hot surface igniter. O4/30/24 a very hot day and we have no air. We turned it on only to find out there was no air. Set an appointment with the home warranty company and they stopped a leak and put freon in our system. Of course we know they didn't fill the system to capacity. They said the leak came from loose caps on the outside. I really didn't think anything of it until they sent out JuJuan to do a PM on 8/20/24. Air was working perfectly fine before he came. Lo and behold, we wake up to no air. Called them immediately and complained we had air before JuJaun did the PM. The supervisor Ron called me and stated he would send someone out to do a leak test. Elyas came out the next day and tried to trick me right in my presence. He took the caps off inside the home and put the meter to it and it went off. I made him put the caps back on and check it again. No beeping. WOW!!! I work in maintenance. Called Fast Response Heating and Cooling. They came out and determined our freon was let out. When I think back to the PM on 9/18/23 they let the freon out then. They can get away with something like this on an older system because a customer would be aware the system is old and they would probably replace it. We're looking into what legal action can be taken and we definitely canceled that service agreement. Them letting your freon out to sell you a system is just beyond crazy! It's diabolical and psychotic!!!
