Our basement flooded with several inches of pure sewage. Roto Rooter was there within an hour and handled everything. Renee, Rick, and Matt were all fantastic. I don’t know what we would have done without them.
Rene was wonderful! I'm grateful to him for coming out on such short notice and so late in the evening! He was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and educated me on plumbing! If I could request him everytime I need help I would! Thank you Rene and Roto Rooter for hiring good quality staff.
Rene did excellent work. He was clear on the scope of the repair and went above and beyond with keeping us updated on any issues that cropped up. Very professional and knowledgeable. Great work and would request him again for any future needs.
if I could give them a 0, I would. Had them come out to snake our sewer. They convinced us we had a crack in the sewer and needed a section of it replaced right away. They put the sewer clean out up against our driveway, and didn't backfill properly. The driveway started sinking and Roto Rootet refused to take responsibility for the lousy job they did backfillin. They also wouldn't move the clean out although the park it clearly showed it a foot away from the driveway. NEVER AGAIN would I use this outfit and don't recommend them at all.
We called roto rooter because our toilet stopped working on a Sunday. They are a 24/7 service. They cut a 12in square hole in my bathroom wall behind the toilet to replace a pipe. That cost us 1,390$ What's that you say, it still doesn't work? If you really want it to work then that will be about 15,000$ ( including tax). Because we will have to excavate under your concrete front porch and replace another pipe about 4ft long. Now we won't be able to do anything about what we tear up because we don't do construction. But you should've figured that out when we put the toilet back in front of the hole and said " nobody will ever see that. " So we figured before they break ground we should get another estimate , or tell our son that college is for suckers. Turns out that if you find an honest plumber you can actually have it working 300$ later.
Very bad experience with Roto-Rooter. I called yesterday and they told me they could come out between 5 - 9 pm. Never got a call, text, or email about anyone coming out the entire timeframe. 9 o'clock rolls around so I called them. They said they were going to check with the dispatchers, then got back to me and told me all dispatchers were busy. Upset that they missed their window without any type of communication after I had to leave work early and plan my night around, I asked to speak with a manager. They told me no one was available but they will put a note down to have a manager call me the next day. I ended up rescheduling for the next day between 6 - 10 pm. The next day arrives and I do not get any call from a manager. By 3 pm, I call them and ask to speak with one. They told me one was not available and that they would email them on my behalf and get back to me in 24 hours. I asked for a number to reach one by and they told me they were not allowed to give out that information. I asked for an email to reach them directly, but again, they replied they weren't allowed to give that out. I then proceeded to ask if there was anybody at all in charge there. Mind you, I was very polite, yet stern this entire time. Finally, they somehow found a supervisor in charge and I was able to speak with them. After giving me a discount for my scheduled service, they apologized and assured me that someone would come in the timeframe. Spoiler alert; they did not. I'll give them just a little bit of credit because at least this time they sent me a text at 8pm telling me I was the next job lined up. After waiting patiently for another 2 hours, the end of the timeframe rolls around again with no more updates, so I call them and told them to forget it; I don't want to do business with you anymore. They gave what essentially was a shrug over the phone and hung up. The next thing I know, I'm getting a text saying please be prepared for an arrival soon and a call to voicemail from the dispatcher manager (I thought they were unavailable) apologizing and saying they can have someone out in a out 30 more minutes and coming up with excuses. I don't bother replying or calling back because I am done with Roto-Rooter, and you should be too. Two stars because they were somewhat apologetic and courteous. Give your hard earned money, and more importantly, time, somewhere else.
My hot water tank kept cycling on and off (it was about 8 years old at the time). We constantly had to restart it, especially when the outside temperature dropped below a certain point. In 2022, I was told I needed a new hot water tank installed to fix the issue, and I was charged around $3,000. When the problem happened again, I called and explained what was going on. I was told the gas company was responsible because the pilot light was being blown out. However, the gas company said the hot water tank that had been installed was not compatible with my furnace. At that point, I chalked it up to “this is just how it’s going to have to work from now on.” Fast forward a few months ago — my hot water tank completely shut down and leaked all over the basement floor. I called Roto-Rooter again and was told I needed yet another tank, but this one would cost $1,500 because the 2022 installation was still under warranty. After getting a second estimate, I was told the temperature dial on my hot water tank had been set too high, which caused the flooding. I am still, however, having issues with the pilot light going out. Overall, on both occasions the technicians were friendly and polite and answered my questions, but I also understand this is a sales-driven service and they need to make money. I would ALWAYS recommend getting a second opinion.
I have been a client several times and have no problems with the actual work performed, but the way to set up an appointment is appaling. It was a semi-emergency, but I got knocked out of the appointment queue because I was supposed to confirm the plumber showing up within three minutes after receiving a text. THREE MINUTES - are you serious? Who set this up? It sounds like by very young teenaged cell phone addicts who think everyone else also lives with a cell phone surgically attached to their body 24/7. For the record, the dispatcher lady, I think her name was Zelta, - a real live person on the phone, was very polite and the plumber Trayvon who did come after the appointment time was resolved was polite, efficient and did an excellent job. But what is wrong with just saying the plumber will be there btwn X and X hour instead of punishing the client who needs service???
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! RotoRooter wanted to charge me over 500 for a valve leak. The plumber claimed the part was 42 dollars and the fix would be 480. Needless to say I was outraged at the price. I explained I didn’t have that kind of money and thanked him for coming out. I found a different company Plumbing 911 who fixed it for 230 dollars. A bit more reasonable and affordable. That plumber was kind enough to explain everything included in the pricing and what needed to be completed. I am completely DISGUSTED at the price gouging attempted with me by Roto Rooter. Your company should be absolutely ashamed. Your plumber saw a single woman and took it as an opportunity to scam me. I will NEVER refer this company to anyone. Photo of the alleged “42 dollar part.”
This is supposed to be a reputable company so my senior citizen friend was royally taken advantage of. You charged her over $10,000 and ripped her off two different professional plumbers came over and told her max cost should've been $4000 you charged her over $500 for a pipe that sells for $45. Don't even bother with any excuse. This is not how you treat people. And I told her to contact senior advocate and bbb and a lawyer. God never wanted us to treat each other like this. Hope no one screws your family members like this. On top of everything else they have yet to send in paperwork to her homeowners insurance, so she can't even get reimbursed. You really dropped the ball on this person. Hope you remedy this. If I could you would get -stars.
Avoid this company at all cost. It is a bunch of scam artists who use scare tactics and lack if knowledge on the customers end to lie and make you feel like your pipes are in so much ruin that you need to spend upwards to 25,000 to fix them. But its ok! They can cut you a deal for $16,000. After literally doing nothing and half effort put into the work. The supervisor will come out telling you its so bad that they dont want to break there tools. I wasted $500 for them to do nothing. I called up my locals, I had someone clear out the mass amount of roots in my system in 3 hours for $200, and got quoted for full replacement at $5,500. DO NOT by any means GO with this company
We had a leak at a rental property out of state, which as Murphy's Law would have it, was on a Friday. Roto-Rooter was one of the few options that not only provided free estimates but also scheduled weekend appointments. After calling and confirming information about their services, booking the appointment online was easy. They followed all my instructions which involved coordinating with our tenant. They confirmed the appointment by phone and keep me informed during the whole process. They showed up on time during the 2 hour window. They provided a written estimate for approval and they resolved my issue. The plumber was communicative during the process.
I’d give Aidon and Aaron 10 Stars if I could. They were friendly, professional and gave me great recommendations throughout the whole process. When the project became more complex than I’d anticipated, they offered multiple options, best practices advice, and clearly put real thought into each step. They made sure I understood what they were doing and took pride in their work. They clearly treat their customers home like they were working on their own homes. They were here when they said they would be. Not only will I call Roto-Rooter in the future, but I’ll specify that I’d like these guys.
I had a clogged kitchen sink drain. Received very fast service response from Roto Rooter. The Plumber, Steven, knew exactly what the problem was and proceeded to fix it by snaking the drain under the our basement floor. Steven was very knowledgable and efficient. He explained everything to me and cleaned up everything when the job was done. He also provided me with very helpful advice on suggestions to help me maintain our drains. Very pleased that the service included a 6 month guarantee.
I will never call Roto Rooter again. Buyer beware. Whatever problem you may be facing, you'll be lied to and it's possible the company may actually intentionally cause more damage to your property in other to have anything to fix. As soon as you ask for an itemized estimate for whatever $5k-$15k repair they claim you need, all the vultures flying around your money, who initially said they could start service "same day" (their words) suddenly disappear and stop responding. Shameful.
