We have had to replace both our sewage ejector pump & our sump pump in the last few months. Kristoff was our technician both times & he was wonderful. He explained everything thoroughly & even suggested some tablets to use to help keep our sump pump cleaner so it will hopefully last longer. He cleaned the entire area that he worked around in our basement as well. He was great to work with!
We had a A++, 5-star service provided by Dustin Nevil! He was prompt to come out, identify and resolve our issue with a water leak in our home. He was polite and communicated with us every step through the repair from start to end. He is an excellent role model for a service provider! Whatever he's getting paid now, he deserves more!
James and Jack were punctual, professional and informative. They showed me as work proceeded and what was completed. Several others came and all were very polite. I'm very pleased.
Incompetent and rude. We are in the process of buying our first home, and had it professionally inspected for problems. The inspector found that the water heater had a rusted bolt on it, that was wet to the touch with water around it. Greenwell was called out to repair the leaky water heater, who responded there was no need for repair. We then replied, providing images and photographic evidence of the leak, which is in obvious need of repair. They then sent 2 additional people out together, who also seemed to find nothing wrong with the water heater, despite the rusted bolt (the only bolt on top of the water heater in plain site), and said nothing needed to be fixed. Upon questioning if the 2 technicians were made aware of the exact situation they needed to fix, I received a very curt email from the manager, who ended with "Please feel free to contact me with any further questions." I asked her if water outside of the water heater to where there is rust on the bolt and water around it doesn't qualify as something that needs to be fixed, or a "leak" then what does.
Shockingly overpriced! The spray faucet hose on the kitchen sink accidentally became disconnected and fell under the sink. My wife called Greenwell and they looked under the sink with a flashlight and said the hose is stuck in the faucet and can't be fixed (diagnosed without using any tools) definitely had to be replaced. Fortunately we had an extra pull down spray kitchen faucet that i was going to install in the basement. Greenwell looks in a book and says that it will cost $300 to install a customer owned faucet and could do it in 1/2 an hr. I refused the ridiculous price and did it myself but not before they charged a $49 fee for looking under the sink with a flashlight.
I tried to put the same review on Google back in August when all of this happened but I thinking Greenwell only allows reviews that speak well of them... Anyway.,. I'm with a home warranty company that covers my plumbing problems so I really don' t have much say in which company they use. Also pricing is not something I'm worried about because I'm covered up to $20,000 on my water/sewer problems. The plumber from the first company that was sent out told me that my wall was going to have to be torn into because the pipe behind it was leaking. OK, I understand. He said before he tore into it, he needed a camera to send down the pipe to find out where the leak was so he wouldn't have to guess and tear half my wall apart before finding it. Unfortunately these cameras are expensive and the only one his company had was booked out he was going to let the warranty company know that a plumber with a camera was needed. Ok, sounds logical... ***IN COMES GREENWELL*** The next day (Friday) the plumber comes out and I explained to him about the need for a camera. He takes a look at the leak and says "Yep, we need a camera here" and he said no one at his office told him to bring a camera. He said he would have the weekend guy come by with a camera and have a look. In the meantime...no phone call, no confirmation, nothing. Saturday, I have to call their office to find out when. I was told I was on the schedule for between 2pm and 6pm, only (after I had waited all day). So....6:30ish comes and the plumber shows up and said nobody told him that he needed to bring a camera, but he said "I don't really need one, I can tell you where the problem is, but What we need to do is get an estimator out here because the warranty co has to approve b/c we have to cut into your wall and he only works between Monday and Friday 8 to 5" and then he left. No phone call from anyone at Greenwell and once again I reach out to *them* on Mon at 1:30pm to ask what gives? "Oh, yes, you're on our schedule today between 2pm and 6pm" I'll have the tech call you. So I make last minute arrangements to leave work early (keep in mind I took Thursday and Friday off already), rush home and wait for this technician. 5:30 comes and goes..NOTHING. Finally I call Greenwell (again) and they said the tech would be calling me soon. I never got a phone call from him, I got a text message from someone named "Stephen" saying that he had my job and was just waiting on the warranty company for approval. He apolgized and was waiting for the plumber's report who ran the camera. NO ONE HAS BEEN OUT TO RUN A CAMERA!! So I immediately called the warranty company and asked them if they had heard from Greenwell. And they said the only thing they heard from them was a request to run the camera and we approved that. I issued a complaint and the warranty company called Greenwell with me on the line and verified that someone would be out to get this taken care of. I didn't hear from anyone on Tuesday and late afternoon Weds (6/23) I get a call from yet another plumber who had no idea what the situation was with my problem. Of course, he didn't have a camera either, and he seemed somewhat annoyed with dispatching, and profusely apologized to me. He said he would ask someone to get in touch with me and get out here today. LOL Its now 7pm and not a word from anyone. I have called my warranty co. and said I want this company fired from the job and don't want them back at my house. I asked them to add to my profile to not issue ANY future service calls to Greenwell for me. Everyone I spoke to at Greenwell was nice enough and they weren't rude in anyway. In fact, they were so nice that it sounded like I'm not the first one to have this problem After wasting 3 days of work plus an entire Saturday with these people and they haven't lifted a single tool yet? IM DONE. Waiting on a new plumber now ISSUES: COMPLETE BREAKDOWN OF COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE COMPANY UNSATISFACORY FOLLOW UP NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE CUSTOMER
On Feb 6, 2025 I had Greenwell Plumbing replace my sewer line and they said had collapsed. They didn't show up until 10:30am and left at 5pm - they said they would return the next day to finish the job. In the process they cut my water line in 3 places. They repaired the line, however, when the technician repaired the broken line inside my bathroom, it was done incorrectly. On Saturday evening at 6pm, the "fix" in the bathroom blew. I had at least 3 inches deep in my house. I called Greenwell and they said a technician would be out to fix the issue. The technician came out at 9pm, stayed 2 hours but didn't have the parts to do the repair. Another technician came out on Sunday morning and repaired the "fix" correctly. The original job never did get completed until April 18, 2025! They left my yard a muddy mess for 6 weeks. The cleanout they installed in Feb was way too tall (over 5ft tall) and leaned toward the house instead of being straight. They broke the top of a little house I have where my outside spigot is. They did bring out a piece of plywood to put on top, but they failed to reconnect the waterline to the spigot. They also hit my water meter and left it at an angle. They tore up my driveway with their backhoe and left mud everywhere. Everytime I called them to come back out to finish their job, there was always an excuse. I had standing water all around where they dug to put in the new sewer line this entire time. There were so many phone calls I had to make and everytime they sent someone out, all they did was take pictures, even though nothing changed since the previous time they were out. Every person who came out said they wouldn't be happy either with how they left everything and all the screwups they did. After about a month of waiting for them to complete the job, I had another water leak right in the middle of the muddy mess (on a Saturday). When I called them, they told me I had to wait until Monday for them to get an excavation crew out. I told them I will not be without water for 2-1/2 days , that I wanted someone out that day. Surprisingly they found someone to come out to repair that leak. I was told that the original crew probably hit the waterline and caused it to snap. It just took a bit for it to surface. They finally agreed to replace my water line from the house to the meter free of charge. They continued to promise me with dates they would be out - it kept being pushed back. I finally told them that if the job was not done by end of day on Friday, 4/18/2025, I will be contacting an attorney and will sue their company. Then the technician came out to replace my waterline, he told me that the "separation bar" in my water meter was leaking and I needed to contact the water company, which I did. The water company said they never heard of a "separation bar". When the water company looked at the meter, they told me that Greenwell Plumbing messed up my meter. So now I have to wait until next week for the water company to come out to repair my meter. If there is any charge, they will be billing Greenwell Plumbing. To top it all off, I pay $15.95/month for their A-1 Membership for priority service. If what I experienced is what they considered priority service, they are soooooo wrong. Consequently, I will be dropping my membership. Debbie Grote Scottsburg IN
Dylan Mcanelly is continuing a line of great service calls by Greenwell's plumbing crew. Courteous and efficient, he fixed a faulty kitchen faucet, then provided an estimate for some work he suggested I consider to protect my hot water heaters. Thank you, Dylan! Tim Ruble did a fantastic job of installing our new Atlas Filtri whole-house water filter which replaces the softener we were then able to remove. He was here for pretty much the whole working day. He was very thorough testing the system once installed and had me down there as well pointing out the system features and how to replace the filters. Then he proceeded to do a second project which we wanted done: replacement of the 3 outside freeze-proof faucets we have. He put in a long day but didn't show it and was as friendly walking out as he was when he arrived. Great work, Tim! Greenwell's residential plumbers continue to provide outstanding services for a reasonable price. Haven't had any problems with any of the things they've repaired or installed since we began using their services in 2020. Greenwell is my go-to plumbing company. I get a free yearly and very thorough inspection of all plumbing fixtures because we paid a small, one-time fee after our first encounter with Greenwell. This one-time fee gives us a discount for every visit and offers the yearly free inspection. I called to have a tech come out primarily to service and inspect the water heaters. Austin was the technician who came to the house. Very polite, friendly and loved his job. He was thorough and noticed a potentially hazardous problem with one of the water heaters which led me to schedule a service with the company that installed it. Austin then procedure ALL the plumbing fixture and gave us some suggestions to help keep everything in good working order. Thanks, so much, Austin and Greenwell Plumbing and HVAC. Kyle is an excellent representative of this company. He recently did the free annual inspection of all our plumbing and performed a flush of our two water heaters. He gave us information on how to clean the garbage disposal grommet using regular household products instead of cleaners from the store. He told us how using ice in the disposal can sharpen the blades. He also mentioned that Greenwell does dryer vent cleaning for free during these inspections. He informed us that Greenwell also offers whole house duct cleaning. He was super friendly and clearly loves his work. This why we use Greenwell for all our plumbing needs. Every technician that has come out to the house over the years has provided friendly, solid service. Thank you Kyle and Greenwell Storm continues the Greenwell tradition of their great service! A troublesome kitchen faucet has been fixed with a minimum of fuss. Keep up the superb work!
Had a new 40 gallon gas water heater installed a year ago this month. In a garage, no steps, all concrete floors, all kinds of room to work around. Super easy installation.Cost $1700.. and I didn't really pay attention at the time, but now being made aware by my furnace and air install people, that this new water heater is literally touching the back of the furnace, and could be an issue for installing a new furnace. The old water they took out had good 6 to 8 inches gap away from the furnace. I was told by my furnace people that this is not necessarily out of code, but it's typically not done unless there are space issues, of which there are no space issues in my garage where this was installed . There is plenty of room all around. There was absolutely no reason to install the new water heater touching the furnace. And, The plumber did not mention it at the time. So I called to inform them of this issue a couple weeks ago. They came out and looked at the install and admitted that they knew it was touching, they even had pictures. But, now they want $400 to $500 more dollars to move it over 8 inches.. stating that the $1700 install price was a "standard install "price. Of which I was never informed of that at the time of original install. So if the pipes and lines (and the planets too I guess) don't line up just perfectly, it's now considered MORE than a "standard install". And, it would only take changing one 10" gas pipe nipple.to a 4" nipple, and cutting out 6 inches of copper on two horizontal copper pipes, then re-sweating the elbows back on to move this. And of course, drain refill and relight. I told them that, had I been informed at the time of install, that it was touching the furnace . I would've insisted that it not be touching like the original one was not. But I'm sure the plumber was making it as easy as he could for himself by just lining up the copper pipes coming straight down, and crimping them on and connecting the gas line. My furnace install people said this touching water heater could be an issue for installing a new furnace. Greenwell plumbing should make this right. Just as it should have been done right in the first place. And for no charge. I guess they are not thinking that I also have a twenty plus year old water heater in my house that will need replacing soon. Very Disappointed!
About 8 years ago we hired Greenwell to do our plumbing in a re-model of a new house we purchased. Fast forward to 2024. We had trouble with our toilet flushing and removed it to replace only to find out there was ROT under the toilet they installed. the obvious reason? They didn't use the correct size wax ring!! I had to tear up the subfloor wood and replace our laminate. As if that wasn't enough! a few WEEKS ago we had our water supply interrupted as a telecom truck hit a line. When they turned the flow back on we had a massive leak on our other bathroom. Again I had to do major repairs myself. Greenwell plumbing??? Yes they also did our other bathrooms plumbing and GET THIS: they put on new piping below the floor, new piping under the sink and left the SAME CORRODED WEAK PIPE IN THE FLOOR. Which like their work in the other bathroom had a small leak. I honestly would think of suing these incompetent (insert curse words) XXXXXX but it's been 8 years ago and well past the statute of limitations. My bank doesn't even keep records from that long ago so I can't show payments. I do indeed have pictures and here they are: 1. Me removing rotten wood caused from the slow leak due to the short incorrect wax ring they used https://i.postimg.cc/Wbdp7m1P/IMG-9721.jpg 2. Me showing Greenwell's new plastic pipe below the floor to the old corroded pipe...why? https://i.postimg.cc/Jnh36YFq/IMG-9936.jpg 3. Me showing Greenwell's new plastic pipe ABOVE the old corroded pipe. Why? https://i.postimg.cc/FzdymdNk/IMG-9935.jpg 4, The rot and damage in my OTHER bathroom as I was repairing it, Greenwell leaving corroded and leaking old section of pipe was the cause https://i.postimg.cc/nVN5gcjM/IMG-9930.jpg Oh and the brilliant and very special Greenwell guys put the hot water and cold water on reverse sides...backwards. No image but the temperature didn't match the color code. If you see Greenwell or someone advises you to use them I would run. All of the above is MY STRONG OPINION and advice. attached photos in no certain order (see links)
I contacted Greenwell plumbing regarding warranty work to be performed on a less-than one year old water heater. They told me that estimates were free so I had them come out. When the plumber arrived he first told me "I don't know much about those...", referring to the water heater I have. He did not bring in a single tool or instrument, he just went to look at the water heater. He also said the estimate was free but there would be a $99.00 diagnostic fee. I spent 25 years running field service and the last time I checked, you have to diagnose a problem to determine what and how much the solution will be. I told him to go ahead because this was a warranty situation and Rheem would be paying for it. His diagnosis consisted of calling Rheem's customer service and after doing so told me Rheem said the water heater would have to be replaced to the tune of well over $700.00. After the young man left I called Reem's customer service myself and after a few checks the walked me through they ordered two parts and scheduled a plumber they work with to come out and fix the water heater, not replace it. I contacted Greenwell Plumbing (first via email then after no response by phone) to get the charge to my credit card reversed. Although the credit was issued no one ever responded until after the credit was issued. I am pleased the credit was issued as there was no benefit at all provided to me by this plumber's service call. I do think however that Greenwell needs to work on their responsiveness to customers. I hope this is an isolated event, but telling someone that an estimate will be free, then telling them upon arrival that there will be a charge for diagnosis is a DECEPTIVE practice. I also don't think the plumber who was sent out has much experience, or if he does, he should find another line of work. I'm not sure how he could have even spoken to Rheem's customer service and come to the conclusion I needed a new water heater when it was repaired with only a couple of parts and maybe 20 minutes of work by a knowledgeable plumber.
I called Greenwell to come and service our furnace when it was short cycling. The technician who arrived spoke very poor English and had a difficult time communicating with me. He misdiagnosed the problem as a faulty circuit board and quoted me $1466 to replace it. I knew this was an outrageous price, but I was in a vulnerable spot with a house full of young children and a record-breaking cold front setting in. As I was writing the check, the furnace began to short cycle again, so I shredded the check and directed him to investigate further. He took a quick look at the furnace, lied to me about the age of the unit, said nothing else could be done, and that I needed a new furnace to the tune of $5800. I had him remove the circuit board and collect his things. I paid him, foolishly, for the diagnostic fee ($99) and the $10 "fuel charge" for him to drive less than 1 mile to my home. I called another company who had their technician at my home within the hour and who was correctly able to diagnose and fix the problem with the part even being covered under warranty. They also were able to rectify some damage left to our unit by Greenwell's technician. They also added that their charge to replace the circuit board, if that had been the issue, would have been $488. Nearly $1000 less than Greenwell's. I have reached out to Greenwell on 3 times now and been passed to 3 different people all of whom were "waiting for management to decide if they would be taking any action to remedy the situation". All I have asked for is a refund of the $109 diagnostic and fuel fees since this technician misdiagnosed the issue, lied to me, and tried to charge me thousands of dollars for a new unit I did not need. Greenwell is completely avoiding responsibility for their very poor service, and as of this morning has cashed the check I wrote for $109. If you're in need of HVAC or plumbing services, do yourself a favor and call anyone else. These scammers will not help you and will look for every opportunity to cash in on their deceptive practices.
Responsive, professional, courteous, polite, and extremely qualified in their disciplines! I had plumbers out installing an electric backup sump pump and an HVAC technician installing a whole home dehumidifier on the same day! They did not stop at 5pm, but stayed until their respective jobs were completed. The plumbers even discovered a serious builder defect that resulted in the release of the toxic and noxious hydrogen sulfide gas into our home. Schuler Homes vented the sewage gases directly into our living spaces AND mere inches away from an HVAC cold air return facilitating the circulation of this adverse health hazard (respiratory distress, severe headaches, etc.) into our entire home for the 3 months we had lived in this brand new home! My family had suffered respiratory distress, severe coughing attacks, dizziness, and headaches only weeks after we bought and moved into this toxin ridden home! When Schuler Homes was notified, they did NOT accept accountability or offer an APOLOGY to my family for their physical and psychological distress! Schuler Homes preaches customer service, but that's only on paper. Stay away from Michael David Schuler's homes!!! But not for the Greenwell employees, my family would have continued with their respiratory distress and, quite possibly, could have died in their sleep! Thank you Devin & Cody! You likely saved the lives of my wife and son!!!!
This is a gripe not connected to their actual service but does reflect on how they operate in general from the top down. As I was pumping gas at rush hour this morning one of their trucks pulls in to fill up but instead of pulling behind me or another car he pulls in nose to nose with me. He did leave enough room to appear that he was giving me the space to get through. Well I tried and damaged my car on the barricade around the pump. I know it was my fault but looked to the driver for a reaction or an apology for the practice of pulling up that way. He was not remorseful at all. I thought maybe the owner would be concerned about this incident and how it reflects on his company so I called the number on the truck. The receptionist, who I believe to be related to the owner, took my info called the owner and driver and called me back. No concern whatsoever, "We didn't hit you so we aren't responsible". What they say is true but when your last name is on the side of the truck every encounter with the public is an extension of your brand and your family's name. These are high stakes that shouldn't be taken lightly. Doing the right thing in a situation or even showing concern or remorse goes along way to strengthen your brand and your name. You failed in this instance Greenwell Plumbing.
We had Greenwell Plumbing and heating come out to do an estimate for installation of a toilet, pit pump, shower and corner sink and another utility sink. Aaron Jackson was the technician that provided the estimate in a very reasonable time. We had a few items that needed to be completed before the work could be done; but he still provided an estimate. Other remodeling was completed made a few changes of the above and he quickly re-did the estimate to adjust it. Contacted Greenwell to move forward and schedule it. Scheduling was quick and Aaron showed as scheduled and started the work. He continually keep us in the loop as he progressed or if he had a question for our input before performing a the task just to be sure we were okay with what he was going to do or provided some other options. He a wonderful person and good technician. He always cleaned up after himself which in itself is a testament to his standards. ( we had other workers that that just didn't seem part of their job, it makes a difference) This is the 2 nd time this year we have used Greenwell and have been pleased with the staff and work performed. We recommend them and if you get a choice we recommend Aaron Jackson. Also the staff, Karen Watts was great to communicate with throughout this process. Kudos all around!
