This is the second time I’ve used 1st Call Plumbing, and I continue to be very impressed with their service. They respond quickly and are able to get technicians out in a timely manner. Every technician I’ve worked with has been very knowledgeable and takes the time to thoroughly explain the problem and the solution. Their pricing is also reasonable. They have definitely become my go-to company for any plumbing issues!
Today SAWS came to my home and said there was a leak on the city cutoff and they replaced it but found that there was also a large leak on the customer side too and after showing me, I realized that this was an true emergency issue and I needed help quick!! I looked at several Companies online and something was making me look again at 1st Call Plumbing. I never done business with them before but I still decided to try them and WOW am I glad I did!! They say first impressions are everything and my initial call with Melissa was awesome! She recognized the fact that I was stressing a little bit and said she would have someone in about 30 minutes that the technician was just leaving another job. I felt so much better after that and then Justin and Jason came out in (I swear like 20 minutes), very professional, they listened to me (without interruption!!) then assessed the issue and gave me options and never once did I ever feel pressured into anything. He showed me and explained in detail how they would tackle this and what to expect, which I appreciated! After digging some of the yard and seeing that this was originals old pipe from the 1940’s, brittle and downright corrosive, I told them it’s an investment and I ok’d the replacement. Now all complete and my wife and I are super happy with 1st Call and already have them in our contacts for our future needs!! Way to go!! A huge thank you to Melissa, Justin and Jason for making our day!! I highly recommend this family business and I will be letting friends and family know about our experience today.
Professional, highly skilled, friendly, considerate technicians did a GREAT job, which I greatly appreciate!! For me, 1st Call Plumbing & AC is my only call and has been for many years, and will be for years to come. Thanks to everyone for the great customer service, including office staff taking my calls & keeping me posted on who’s on the way to do the job and their arrival time. I’m confident that the workmanship’s done right! Ryan, Wade, Fred, and another I didn’t get his name all get a BIG 👍🏻‼️
My daughter just had a water heater replaced for $2700 that I paid for and it only had a minimal warranty. I call the company as soon as I found out and told them cancel the installation while they were draining the tank and they agreed, but the tech went ahead anyway. By the time I got there he was done. Similar models at Home Depot were $7-800. meaning they charged about $2000 for 2hrs labor and they couldn't supply any paper work with the install. If you call around there are other installers charging a $1000 less, don't get ripped off by these guys and some others like them.
When I spoke to Daniel this afternoon to schedule my appointment to have a technician come out to see a drip in my water heater expansion tank, I was hopeful. Even when I received a late call from him to let me know the technician was still 25 minutes out, I was still hoping everything would work out. But then I got a call from the technician and nope. Without looking at a single thing, the tech proceeded to tell me that my quote would be anywhere from $295 to over $800. I asked him if this was even without taking a look at the drip...maybe just adjusting something. He said if he adjusted anything it would be at least $295. Needless to say, I thought I should look elsewhere. Daniel called back to try and get a different technician out but I declined. I'll take my chances with someone else. Thank you very much.
I can't say enough good things about First Call Plumbing, Heating & Air! First Call was recommended to me by a friend after I sent out a distressed email that I had had two plumbers look at a mainline stoppage in my house and had completely opposite diagnoses. One told me it would be $15,000 to fix my plumbing; the other told me that it was the city's problem and to call them. My friend recommended that I call First Call. She said that they we're honorable and would get my plumbing fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. I made the call and spoke with Ryan in the front office. He listened to what I had to say about my experiences and then apologized that I was treated so poorly and got such confusing information. He promised that they would send somebody out that evening - this was 5 o'clock on a Friday - to see if they could open up the plumbing and find out what the problem was. I had been three days without being able to use my shower, my toilet, or run water as everything was stopped up in my house, because I waited for the city to come out and check "their side" as the second plumber said the blockage was past my property. Bob, and his apprentice Anthony, showed up at my house and got to work right away. They had to use three separate pieces of equipment to clear out the blockage in my mainline. It was well after dark, but they did it. Bob was then able to use the camera to show me that tree roots had broken my mainline from underneath it and said that it would have to be replaced. This was the same thing that the first plumber had told me, but he could not clear my line, so the camera that he used was completely underwater not showing me anything, just assuming that a tree was the cause. He also said that it would be $15,000 and that I would have to take down my crepe myrtle tree to fix the line. First Call said that they could replace the pipe the following week. I would be able to use all of my plumbing, just to be careful about the volume I put through the pipe. Also, they could replace it, route the new line around my tree (so I didn't have to cut it down) and were almost 1/3 of the price of the first plumber. The following week the excavation crew showed up, as scheduled. They were awesome! They had a great time, you could tell that they liked their job. They were polite, efficient, and very careful with my yard. When they left there was a trench from my house to the street, but they had everything covered. They left tarps with rocks to hold them, covered the trench with boards so that it was safe and they put caution tape around my entire yard so not only me but anybody else would be safe and know that there was danger. The next day, sure enough Bob and Anthony, with their team showed up to replace my mainline. They connected everything, saved my tree and I was back in business. Once it passed inspection by the city, the excavation crew came back and covered up all of the pipe, they reconnected all of my sprinkler system and left my yard with a single strip of dug up dirt down the middle of it, up to the house. I got a follow up call from First Call the next day to make sure that everything was fine, in working order, that I was satisfied with the work that was done and that my yard had been left as I expected. I cannot recommend this company enough. My experience was above and beyond what I've ever had with a plumber. I now know why they're called First Call - they will always be mine.
We recently purchased a home that 1st call had completed plumbing work on prior to us closing. When we moved in we noticed that there was still a leak coming from our master bath shower. We contacted 1st call, who at first was very helpful, they wanted to make sure the same plumber came out since they were familiar with the work. They came out and did an inspection, opened the wall and confirmed the leak was coming from the shower and that it was simply missed when the initial work was done. They informed us the issue was either the shower pan or the gasket for the drain. The plumber told us they could fix the plumbing but would not be able to safely remove the tile work or we could contact a contractor to get the entire job completed. We told him we would let him know what we decided. My husband and father removed the shower doors, tiles and parts of the wall to make sure the plumber could come in and repair the leak. After calling 1st call back to set up the appt they informed us there was nothing they could do and we would now have to go through a contractor. This has left us frustrated, feeling as though we had wasted our time and were originally given false information. We tried to tell them we had removed everything so they could fix the issue and they still refused to work on the job. I would not recommend.
I had water pipes that burst with the Texas Snow Storm, Uri. I called 1st Call Plumbing because they sent me a flyer, and represented themselves as a "Family Owned" business. When the technician came, my "Free Estimate" was a contract he presented at the curb. $175.00/hr. for leak detection with a 4 hour minimum ($700.00) and a repair cost of $595.00/hr for repairs with a 4 hour minimum ($2,380.00). Then there was the cost of the plumbing parts. This was a contract for over $3,000.00 and they had not even looked at my broken pipe! There was water leakage in my wall but the service technician said he would not be dealing with that. He would be doing a "deversion" to get my water back on. I would need to call someone else to deal with the dry wall and water leakage in the wall. I hadn't had water in my house for Two weeks, and he said "Other People Are Paying It " Wow! I declined to sign their contract, and called the owner, John. He claimed this was not how his company did business, but they sent these contracts to my email, and had a recording of my conversation when I called for a service request! I'm going to wait a few more weeks to get a reputable plumber who really cares about people and does not treat their customers like a business opportunity.
Extraordinary service! Worth the $$. Maybe a bit overpriced, but well worth the service I received. Here is my story. Leaking hose bib. Admin/Communication: Called and got through to a person (Sonia) right away. She was very courteous and helpful. She booked an appointment same day. I then received a text later indicating they were ahead of schedule and could come early if I was available. Several texts and calls back and forth with Nick to confirm my schedule and my technicians were on the way. Communication was great. I appreciate that after other companies lack of communication. Service: Travis and Jake came out. Explained the fix, gave me the cost and they were on their way! I asked a lot of questions during the process. Some related to the fix and some unrelated. They helped me locate my ball valve, checked my water pressure and we chatted about meters and such. They were very informative, polite, knowledgeable and super quick! Some may think the service call was expensive. For me it was worth the cost to get it done in a timely manner, by a professional and communicative staff who answered all my questions. I'm very satisfied with 1st Call Plumbing Heating & air. I will consider them again in the future.
If you want to get raked over the coals financially call 1st Call Plumbing, Heating & Air. Just had 1st Call Plumbing & Heating literally do a 20 minute job and they charged us $621or $31 dollars per minute!!!!! That was with their 5% discount. I called their office to complain or negotiate, got shuffled around and was told they would call their techs Nate and Jake with updated pricing which was no less than the 5% Nate and Jake were able to give up front. Placate the customer to get them off phone only to maintain pricing. Yesterday one of our Pex elbow connections sprung a leak and was dripping through our ceiling so my husband cut through the ceiling drywall to see where the leak was coming from, pulled insulation out, covered everything nearby and ran a spotlight the the site. All these plumbers had to do was bring their special crimping tools, attach a new joint, and throw on a foam noodle for good measure, and carry their own ladder in and out. At core only took MAYBE 20 minutes of work. $31 per minute or $621 later we decided never to call these crooks again and highly recommend no else does either. They lure you in with a free quote and quick service, not worth it unless you have money to burn!
I was house sitting when all of a sudden the toilet decided to overflow with the neighborhoods sewage. (Gross) After my initial freak out subsided, a friend suggested I call First Call. It was Saturday so I wasn't sure what to expect. My call was answered right away. I gave some information and they instructed that someone would be there within a few hours. A few short minutes later I received a call stating that someone would be there within the hour instead. Feeling slightly better I was preparing to have to pay for some repairs. (I ain't made of money by the way) Once the plumbers arrived the overflow had finally stopped. It only took a few minutes for them to let me know repairs could wait another day, until the homeowners returned home, and supplied me with a little knowledge to assure it wouldn't happen again. I grabbed a card and thanked them for the promptness and help. And I wasn't charged a house call fee because those are free!! I was not present when they came back for some repairs but they were pretty reasonable in price and provided further information on what the homeowner could do in the future.
Positive: Quality We had a new AC / heater installed going on 3 years ago. The heater never really worked right from the beginning so we called 1st call and they sent someone out. The tech shrugged off the issue, told us the heat pump will freeze up during below freezing temps but will return to normal function when the sun comes up and the pump is able to defrost. Shortly after that visit we had the south Texas snow storm. With the rolling brown outs the heater wouldn't keep up anyway so no one was called again. We started having issues again this year. Any time the temp got close to freezing the heater would stop working. Waking up to a 55 degree house got old so we finally called someone out again. They sent Chris Ricketts. Within 10 minutes he found the issue. The wires that control the Aux heat were not making a good connection. He fixed the connection, reprogrammed our thermostat and now we have heat. He made a 5 star review customer out of a customer that would have recommended anyone go anywhere else. Give that man a raise! Thanks again Chris! Service: Repair heating system
I had the unfortunate experience with a water leak on the home side of my water meter. I called this company and several others as well in order to get the best price for my repairs, That's what we do as home owners. They told me they could come out this afternoon and give me a free estimate. I took them up on it. I had already dug out the the exposed water leak. They arrived and the tech got out his truck with his I pad looked at it , Started punching on his I pad while I was asking. him questions about how difficult it was going to be to repair it. he quoted me a price of $595.00 however he take off $100.00. I called my friend after he got off who is a Plumber. he looked at it Changed an O-Ring that cost maybe .50 cents. that meant the labor charge would have been $494.00. That's ridiculous Its also called price gouging. Stay away from this company they will tell you they are here for you. they are not . there here for your money. Whatever happened to integrity they don't have any. I am all about paying a fair price. but don't poke my eye out. stay away.
Charges $76 for diagnostic/service call fee When asked if there were any free estimates she got aggravated, offended, and explained with attitude there are no free estimates the diagnostic is the estimate which requires opening a single top which is a lot of hard work to do and why it is needed to be charged. Receptionalist Patrica is temperamental and will tell you the entire history of past visits of all trips made to the house. Instead of just scheduling for an appointment as if you are the problem and bothering them. She mentioned contacting warranty not out of kindness or to be helpful based off the tone in her agitated voice it’s to not have to deal with a customer. Review changed from 1 to 4 stars due to The owner John he is kind, cares a lot about his company, reached out, apologized on her behalf, offered to make things right, and to call him personally if anything is needed. Although there is nothing he can do at the moment to help me he was wiling to do what he could to represent his business to the best of his ability and that effort is appreciated.
I am a bit conflicted about this review. First called 1st call back in April. They sent out Reno to replace a shower valve and replace our shower pan. After Reno left we discovered he had damaged our bathroom counter to the point it needed repair or replacement. Karl came out and agreed to have it fixed. While he was here he discovered the new shower valve was leaking. Reno and crew didn't do the job right. Karl fixed it and the owner John got our counter top fixed. So far so good. BUT.......when the dry walkers came to start repairing the shower walls they discovered that Reno had placed the pan in the wrong spot, making it impossible for them to do their job. 1st call sent someone out right away but he did not do any repairs. Instead they put us off two more days. We were promised it would get fixed today yet here we sit. Promises are all we have meanwhile their, or I should say Reno's ineptitude is causing a two week delay in our repair. I really appreciate them promising to fix their mistake, but promises aren't getting the job done
