Jose and Eric were INCREDIBLE! Honest, upfront and super helpful with every option they had. They truly saved the day! The laundry sink broke in the back and when I was unable to reach or see what the issue was i shut the main water valve off and began calling. No one was available, or they were too far away to be bothered until I reached out to The Fair Plumber. They came within an hour and handled it. Will use them again and highly recommend their services

Our house is 100 years old. Water was backing up into our basement shower. We called 3 companies and only Fair Plumbing sent someone out that same day. Manny used the camera and found that some clay pipes had shifted and rodding out the pipes did not clear the build up. The next day, Manny, Anthony and Gabriel arrived. A section of the basement concrete floor needed to be jackhammered to expose the pipe. Once exposed, they also found a hole in the sewer pipe and in the drain pipe. The clay pipes were replaced with a 10 foot PVC pipe, a new drain and two clean out traps were also installed. Anthony and Gabriel did a great job laying the new concrete and Manny made sure to keep us informed throughout the entire project. The team came on time, plastic was hung around the work area, they mopped the floor and did a great job cleaning up. They told us what they needed to do and they got it done. Thank you so much!

I had to get the line routed out between the house and the street, once that was fixed he had to repair the wax ring. Jose was my plumber, he was awesome! Polite and knowledgeable. A great smile too! I will definitely use him again. Thank you Jose!! 😊

Service and attitude has gone downhill since I hired Walter the first time many years ago. He was very abrupt with my 80 year old mother and not very good at communicating. Too many plumbers to not be treated with kindness and respect.

I wish I could give zero stars. Plumbing for new sink and faucet was completely installed wrong. He didn't make sure the dishwasher was hooked up and working properly. I hired a plumber because I don't know how to do plumbing work. The bottom cabinet under the sink flooded at least 4 inches of water. The trap was not even secured. I called him to let him know, he denied any knowledge of this and hung up on me. I tried sending photos, his phone would not accept the them. I sent a text with the issue...no response. I finally got him on the phone explained the problem again and that I would appreciate a partial refund as I had to hire another competent plumber to fix his errors. Final comment from him was no refund and I would not hear from him again. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!! His response is also a lie. I asked him to call me when he had time to talk. Sent my condolences. He continued to harass me via text. He is lying. I hire many contractors and have never had such a horrific experience. He could have offered to come back after the first time I contacted him when I realized there was a problem. He hung up on me. Please use much caution when considering hiring this man.

Walter is the man!!!!! He is going to be my plumber for life! So during the flooding that we had during the 3rd week in April and trying to get someone to get to my house to replace my sump pump and getting really high estimates (with emergency fees) or no one answering the phone and seeing the awesome 5 start ratings he was getting I crossed my fingers and called Walter...he answered the phone and was charging me much less than other places were, generally a low price would make me nervous but after many 5 star ratings for other Yelpers it made me feel better. I asked him if there was any chance that he could come out today...he said he was in Schaumburg/Wheeling, then I had told him how another local Batavia plumbing companies were going to charge me emergency rates, a $100 just coming out to see you fee and on top of it they couldn't even guarantee me that someone could come out to my house that day. He said "really? That is terrible"...I told him I had called about 7 different companies with no help from anyone. I don't know if he just felt really bad for me or he just has a heart of gold...I'd like to think it was a bit of both. He said he would be there in 45 minutes...I was shocked...really he was going to come out to help me and my flooded basement? I didn't know people like that still existed. He got to my house in about 45 minutes and he was all smiles and friendly, went down to my basement and before he even looked at anything he tried my electric box first to make sure it wasn't as simple as I needed to just flip the switch...he tried and I was right there and after he flipped the switch it just went back then he look and he asked how long this sump pump has been in...I said about 11 years...then he looked further and he said it needed to be replaced. He was quick, neat and friendly and he explained what was wrong with my old sump pump and a recommendation to get a back up from Home Depot (he did not need to do that...he makes no money when I go to Home Depot to purchase a backup) Then after he installed my pump he said let me stand here for a few minutes to make sure there are no leaks. He checked and was good to go and then he said "can I just check your pipe outside just to make sure the water is pumping outside" I said yes of course and he did and there was all this water overflowing...he told me that shouldn't be happening so he looked over by the drain and nothing was going into the sewer drain as it was supposed to...he's like let me try doing a quick rot to see if I can unplug the outflow pipe...didn't work....unfortunately it didn't work because there were roots and clay that had cracked or split the pipe that was clogging up my pipe. Unfortunately because I live in a crappy town home association that wants their own people to fix everything on the outside of our homes I said I would need to leave it for them....he offered to dig a trench or something so the water will flow towards the drain, I just said I couldn't because I would get fined for damage on the landscaping. Then Walter said you know if I cant help you fix the problem, what I am going to do-I am going to write it on your invoice what is going on so your association will know what's going on and what they will need to fix it. Super nice So my basement is now dry with a beautiful working sump pump. And I handed the note from my plumber to my horrible association...and guess what Walter was right and I will get my fix as soon as it stops raining...and snowing! Also Walter has 2 super sweet and cute golden retrievers that go out with him...they were so cute In fact as I paid Walter I gave him a baggie of doggie treats for his two doggies. They stay in van while he worked :). If you want good service, fair pricing and someone who doesn't gouge you in your moment of misery and explains whats going on-please call Walter he is awesome! He will be my got to guy for all my plumbing needs!

I found Walter plumbing services off CL and he had very reasonable rate especially with 19 years of experienced under his belt. For an experienced plumber for 150.00 to charge me for rodding my sewer main...that's a very good deal. I called many plumbers and at first went with the cheaper one.."All Chicagoland Plumbing" . That was huge mistake! You get what you paid for Tony the plumber had 5 years of experienced and didn't help my situation with my sewer main being backed up. He tried for 1 hour and half and with no success with his rodding tool. I didn't know at that time what a big difference it would make if you had top notch professional grade tools. It will get the job done and get it right the first time! The thing I was mostly upset with All Chicagoland plumbing was that Tony the other owner told me that he will get the job done and it will be done! ....That's a huge disappointment especially when you have the nerve to charge me 100.00 just because you came here to do some rodding doesn't mean you get 100.00. If you make a claim that you can do the job. I expect you to be able to do it! If you can't? Then you should charge the service call only. There are plenty of other plumbers I could've went with but Tony made the claim and he failed miserably. We eventually settled for 70.00 which was still very high and I was very disappointed. This is the reason why he got a bad review from me. After my disappointment, I called up Walter again and he came over the next day with a state of the art Rodding tool and that machine was a beast. It took him 20 minutes to clear the sewer main and fixed the problem while it took Tony 1 1/2 with no success. Walter not only fixed the overflow problem with my toilet but all address other issues around related the sewer and pipes. That's professionalism! I was thrilled with his work ethic and thoroughness to complete the job and was very happy with his services! It's hard to find quality service people around. Walter Plumbing services is definitely one I would keep in mind for quality work! I would highly recommend him any day if i were to have any plumbing issues in the future! Great job Wally! P.S. He also has two great dogs that comes with him to work! He keeps them in the van when he's working....lol

Walter is awesome. The past few days we've been having water issues in the basement due to the washer draining and coming back up the floor drain. After calling the city of Elgin about the problem, and them coming out and cleaning the main sanitary line, the problem persisted and the city worker told us about how a lot of people are having tree root problems due to the drought last year. So I went on the Google Machine, and keyed "Elgin Plumbing". After all of the Paid advertisements, a yelp review for Walter's Plumbing came up with all 5 star reviews and excellent reports. So i called him, he happened to be nearby on the other side of town, and came over. About 45 minutes after he arrived, he had my main line cleared and brought up a chunk of hair thin tree roots the size of a cat. We ran a lot of water through the drains before he left (multiple toilet flushing, draining the washer 3 times, and constantly running the bath tub) and everything seemed to be in great working order, all for $150. If you have plumbing problems, call Walter, he's the man.

We found our go-to plumber! A few nights back our basement floor drain backed up into our laundry room. It became obvious that our ejector pump was dead and we would need to have it replaced. I found Walter Plumbing Service after a quick search online and was impressed by the reviews left here. I called Walter and he set up an early morning appointment for the next day and quoted me a price to expect. When he arrived he was professional and enjoyable to talk with while he worked on our problem. He explained the issues and made sure that there were no other items that needed repair / replacement. Even when he discovered that the parts needed would be cheaper than he origianlly quoted me he made sure to let me know to expect a lower price! Walter was quick to solve our problems and had the best prices I could find. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area who is looking for a plumber and he will be our go-to plumber from now on! Also, his dog was adorable and very well behaved! He sat in the truck while Walter worked inside.

Having read Yelp reviews for years and not joining, I felt compelled to join and write a review about Walter. He is a fantastic plumber and even better person. Walter quoted a very fair price to change our faucets to start with as he was going out of town for the 4th holiday and didn't want to loose the business since we had to wait 6 days. While installing the kitchen faucet, Walter discovered the drain system to the sink was installed incorrectly when our new counter tops were installed years ago and was leaking and corroded. Walter fixed everything at an extremely fair price and had to get a bit creative to remove the corroded parts off the sink and pipes. Walter did not charge me for used supply lines he recycled from a previous job. We would not hesitate to use Walter again or recommended him to our friends, family, neighbors. and co-workers. Honest and professional at a fair price, no gouging, no B.S. The repair business needs more Walters. A+

What a fabulous plumber! I was a little skeptical about all the glowing reviews, but I am now compelled to add to them. My home warranty service declined to cover the broken shut-off valve for the dishwasher, and the plumber they sent said it would be too hard to fix. Walter took my phone call on a Sunday and came to fix my problem Monday morning. He was fast, thorough, and knowledgeable. Both he and his assistant were polite and pleasant, and they knew exactly how to fix the problem. Besides that, his total charge was incredibly reasonable. I was also having a problem with a faucet, so Walter looked at it and told me how to fix it myself with a part I could get at the hardware store. I am so pleased to have finally found Walter that I'm looking around my house for more plumbing projects! Don't hesitate to do business with him; you will be delighted that you did.

Came downstairs one morning and saw that a pipe in my upstairs bathroom had leaked through ceiling to my downstairs family room. What a mess! A friend recommended Fair plumber so I checked reviews and gave them a call . I was fully prepared for a multi day project costing thousands. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. 2 very nice gentlemen named Chris & Christian came out right on schedule. After assessing situation they gave me a very reasonable estimate for time and price. There was no pressure and every step was explained so I knew exactly what to expect. I agreed and everything was fixed, tested and thoroughly cleaned up in a few hours. It was such a pleasant experience ! I highly recommend Fair Plumbing. They really do live up to their name (FAIR) ! Give Fair plumbing a try for your plumbing needs and I know you will not be disappointed.

I had a leak in my kitchen pipe that soaked my hardwood floors and tracked down to the basement. While my wife and I were in the basement cleaning up, we noticed that our main sump pump wasn't working either....the backup had kicked in, thank goodness; but the water level was still higher than it should have been. I called Walter (found him on CL) and to my surprise he came right away. Fixing the pipe in the kitchen took a minute and he didn't even charge me for it. Then he went down in the basement and replaced my sump pump. He worked fast and everything took about 30 min. He was honest, upfront, and very friendly....and he cleaned up after himself....no mess in the basement. The price was phenomenal.....a lot less than I thought it would be for a semi-urgent situation. I would definitely use Walter again for any plumbing problem!

We noticed a leak under our sink, and had no idea what to do. We called a couple of plumbers that were recommended by friends, and they were either not able to come out today or were quoting us high rates for the parts and labor. We reached out to Walter, and he was able to come the same day, and even had us buy the part needed at Home Depot, which saved us $90 from the quote from the other plumbers as they had marked up the part. Walter was here within an hour, and was fast and efficient. We have nothing but the best things to say about him and the job that was done! His hourly rate was extremely reasonable, and was a lot less than the other quoted prices. Highly recommended for any and all plumbing issues you may have. Hopefully we won't have any more plumbing issues, but if we do, we will definitely be calling Walter. Thank you!

Being new to the 'north' and the area...I called Walter's plumbing because of the yelp reviews. All the reviews are true. He is fast, honest, and extremely reasonable. We had several items come up on our home inspection that we wanted fixed/replaced. Walter said 3 of the 4 plumbing items did not even need to be done or could be 'fixed' by tightening a bolt and there was no charge. Walter could have easily replaced these items and made some easy $ but he gave us his honest diagnosis and we are grateful. My husband also had several 'plumbing questions' in different areas of the house which he took the time to look over and answer. We did need a spare basement sink replumbed and he only charged us a total of $140. I expected that to be a service charge! He gives his work a year warranty too. Highly Recommend!
