Our main sewer line plugged up- tree roots and needed it high pressure rodded out quickly. The guys and the company were quick to respond, good natured, informative and professional. I highly recommend this service.
This is the second time I have used this company. David was my go to person again, and I cannot thank him enough for clear communication, the extra mile and solid work (sewer lines to the street and all things related, and cleaning out the lines into the house). I love the project team work and they’re all friends on the job. Competitive pricing and no regrets.
David R. did an outstanding job. He quickly identified the issue and fixed it right away. His expertise and efficiency were truly a lifesaver. The service was excellent, and the pricing was very reasonable. I highly recommend Rooter Hero Plumbing.
I was charged $1,900 to unclog a cleanout and hydro jetting and then a tech tried to get me to pay to change the pipe from cast iron to plastic. First they quoted $8k, and I said absolutely not, then I was quoted $5k and I told him I would think about it and then came the pressure to make a decision before the quoted price would no longer be available. Subsequently, I went with a different company that charged me only $2,200! They did an excellent job and did more than Rooter Hero claimed they would do. I advise anyone not to do business with this company. Absolutely outrageous!
We had booked an appointment with these guys on Saturday they said they were going to show up between 9 and 11:00. Sunday at 6:30 and we still haven't seen him they just texted me and said David they were too busy even though we talked with him four times today on Sunday they told us they're going to be there between 9:00 and 10:00 then they told us between 11:00 and 1:00 I called them three to five times the lady would answer and say somebody will call you back in 15 minutes Jackson looking for a job to be done don't book these guys
I remember hitting this place up more than a few times at its first location back in the day downtown, they've been at this spot in Tahoe Park so long im sure a generation thinks this is the only place it's ever been. Im actually surprised I haven't reviewed it yet. I almost don't want to review this place, given how long it's been around and how well known it is and how many reviews it has but here we go anyways. The good: The bread pudding is legit prob one of the top I've had in recent years. I would say come here for that. Or better yet, put a togo order for it and avoid the crowds. They got the standards, but what I appreciate is the detail. For instance, they could have just chunked jalapeños into their sando's but instead they took the time to thinly slice them. They also put together fun combinations without going over the top. So, it's like not just a standard..it's a standard+. so like, here's an omelette..but we are going to throw lardon on there not just some regular bacon. Little things like that. it's fun. Huge portions, in fact, me and the wife decided we are only splitting meals there from now on, and getting the bread pudding. neither of us ate more than half our meal and it was all pretty tasty. The asian dude they had as the host was super nice. He set the waitress and the kitchen up for success. The bad: Alot of things are just ok. passable. I.e. biscuits, the gravy, etc. for a spot called "bacon and butter"... I mean I want more than just "eh its good". I feel like those things should have to be solid. Soda in a can? come on buddy... don't do me like that. Y'all can afford the soda machine or at least free refills on that. How dare you. It's not like y'all don't have taps. The sheer disappointment I felt when the waitress plopped the can on my table. then realizing I was going to have to ration my drink the whole meal. FOUL. straight disrespect. For the kind of wait this place always has, they have to be held to a higher standard, like things that you could get away with at one restaurant the fact that this place has a standard hour wait on the weekends... lol they have to come through with fire. I'd wait maybe 5-20 minutes for food here, tops. But 45+ minutes? Bruh, hard pass. Ok, this was a minor annoyance but maybe it's just me. They had open bar seating when we came in. we instead chose to wait for a table. we waited our 20m and then they sat us at the lower bar. ITS A BAR not a table. I get it, it's lower and it has regular seats, we are still seated at the BAR. I don't want to watch the servers rushing around every which way and that, I wanted to be seated across from my date so we could see each other when we chatted. Yes, I could have said something, but it wasn't a big deal or important at the time. Straight Bait and switch.
We had a sewer issue which carried over for many days. The main toilet started flushing slow on Saturday and by Sunday afternoon stopped all together. I initially called my home warranty company which delayed service due to lack of emergency services, but that has nothing to do with my issue. One of the two plumbing companies the warranty company sent out to my home recommended I contact one of the major plumbing companies that starts with a 'R'. For transparencies sake I admit I thought I had called the other guy. I'm more than happy I didn't. I called Rooter Hero on Wednesday and someone came out quickly few hours after call. They ran a scope down the sewer line to diagnose the issue and give me an estimate. The project manager took the time to review the video footage of the sewer line with me and discussed my options. The sewer line between the storm drain and the house had several sections where the pipes had separated and one section where the pipe sagged catching waste and water. The recommendation was to add two-way clean out, remove section of driveway to replace damaged pipe, and then shoot a sleeve in the pipe from house to storm drain (more than 22 ft). I must say the estimate seemed pricey, but that was likely sticker shock from lack awareness. Once we signed the contract work began the same day. Start to finish the project took about 5 or 6 days but that was only because of multiple days of significant rain. While the concrete was drying I noticed several spots that appeared to remain damp. I continued to watch and wait a few weeks, when the issue didn't resolve itself I called Rooter Hero out to investigate. They came out to the house the next day to assess my issue. The project manager made the call to open the repair site and assess the status of the repair. Due to their workload and lack of urgency the project began 2 days later. The contractor broke the concrete and opened the hole. There was no leak found the dirt removed was dry. He scoped the line to verify the pipe integrity, there was no leak but the line was still catching a bit of water. I thought it was okay but the project manager decided it made sense change out the replacement pipe to improve the pitch. Start to finish the contractor took about 6 hours to finish and reinstall the concrete. I highly recommend Rooter Hero for your plumbing needs. The employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate.
Big Plates, Bold Flavors, and a Butter Man Who was not shy with the BUTTER! Customer service here is excellent-efficient, attentive, and consistent, which I appreciate. Portion sizes are very generous, and realistically, they're better when shared. We started with the donut holes, which were freshly made, not overly sweet, and had just the right balance of texture. I didn't finish them on the spot, but even after reheating the next day, they held up perfectly. That kind of quality matters. The bacon chocolate chip cookie, however, fell short. While the smoky bacon flavor came through, the cookie was overdone around the edges, harder than it should have been, and lacking depth of flavor. It's not something I'd order again. The grilled cheese Benedict was massive and well worth the order. The thick slice of cheese, soft bread, and house-made hollandaise worked beautifully together. I also tried the fried green tomato Benedict, which had a well-balanced flavor profile. The batter and seasoning on the tomatoes added a freshness and uniqueness that stood out. And let me just say--they do not play around with their portions of ham hocks. Thick, juicy, and packed with flavor, the ham hocks balanced out the fried tomatoes and greens with just the right amount of saltiness. This dish was both hearty and refined, which is not easy to pull off. Yes, the plates are huge, but the quality backs up the portions, which is what really counts. What impressed me most is that everything here seems fresh, fast, and carefully prepared. Even the fruit stood out-sweet, crisp, and clearly high-quality, farmers-market level. Service remained steady throughout the meal. The waiters checked in often, and the open kitchen is a nice touch-you can see the pace and effort that go into keeping things running smoothly. Be mindful: there's almost always a wait, but if you value consistency and quality, it's worth the time. This is a place I'd feel comfortable bringing family or friends to share a proper meal. A couple of details not to overlook: the bacon is thick and substantial, nothing flimsy about it. And the "butter man" knows what he's doing-he doesn't skimp on topping off pancakes and waffles, which is exactly how it should be... should have seen my eyes of how big and deliciously mouth watering it looked.
Why 5 stars? Because I will forever think of this experience fondly. --- --- --- Ah, Bacon & Butter. The last meal of my trip and one of my favorites. We had a 1pm flight out of SMF and time for one final meal before returning to reality. We showed up on a Saturday morning 9:07a and was told that the wait would be about 20 minutes. At 9:18a, I got the text that my table was ready. We heard the hostess telling people it would be more like 30-40 minutes shortly after we sat down, and overheard other patrons saying they have waited for 2 hours, so I guess we got pretty lucky here! As Houstonians, it's impossible to imagine a June day where it's pleasant enough to sit outside, but this was our reality on this visit. We were wearing hoodies and shorts and quite comfortable on the patio. While Bacon & Butter does not get credit for Sacramento weather, it's hard not to smile when I think about how perfect it was to sit on that patio. As for the food... My dad ordered the breakfast burrito and loved it. I ordered the grilled cheese benedict and could not believe how much I enjoyed it. Not only was every bite perfect, but I didn't end up going into that typical heavy breakfast food coma that seems to be automatic when I pound a bunch of carbs first thing in the morning. Speaking of coma-inducing food, we shared peaches and cream french toast as our "dessert" and it also somehow did not make me feel awful afterward! It was made out of brioche bread, so it was light and airy. And awesome. The service was a bit slow, as they were slammed, but we were in zero hurry and loving life sitting outside in that weather, so if anything, I was happy we weren't rushed. I will forever think about how amazing that grilled cheese benedict was and will have to face reality that it might just end up being the best benedict I'll ever eat.
I have no idea why I never wrote a Yelp review for Bacon & Butter because I have dined here at least a dozen time since I moved to Sacramento 10+ years ago. We used to always come in a group of 8-10 and someone always make reservation. I think back then they would take reservation for large parties. Not sure if they still do it now. So, I don't remember ever having to wait that long until.... Mother's Day! Yep, I know...I know...it was a badddd idea to come on Mother's Day and I will never make that mistake again if I can help it. My sweet son arrived at around 10:30 AM to put his name down on the list and was told we should be seated at around noon time. Great! I took my time and arrived at around 11:45 AM. Long story short, we didn't get seated until 1:15 PM. We were standing outside the entire time trying our best to stay in the shade. They were going to seat us outside in 85 degree afternoon heat. My son told him that he had put down for an inside table. The waiter was like you might have to wait another 10 minutes and I was about to lose it. The 5 of us squeezed in a booth that was meant for 4 people inside! We just wanted to eat and get it over with. Without a doubt, food is great and quality is consistent here but is it worth the ridiculous long wait??? Fortunately, the food came very quickly. Pear & Pecan French Toast is still my favorite. Brioche toast mixed with whipped cream and caramel sauce. It's the best breakfast dessert. If you prefer savory, I recommend the omelet for the huge portion. If you want both sweet and savory, definitely go with Chicken Waffle. If you (B&B) have read this far, I beg you to start taking reservations. You can have customers put credit card down to hold the reservation and charge $15-20 per person for no show!
We visited Bacon & Butter on a Sunday morning around 10:45 AM. The parking lot was pretty full when we arrived, and the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. Luckily, as soon as we pulled in, someone was leaving, so we were able to grab a spot right away. There were a few people waiting outside to be seated, but since it was just the two of us, they offered us seats at the bar. We didn't mind at all, and we were seated immediately, which was really nice. The ambience inside is super fun and cozy. There are comic-style art pieces and movie posters around the space, cute glasses displayed on the walls, and warm ambient lighting that gives it a laid-back, creative vibe. It feels casual but still really thoughtfully decorated -- definitely somewhere you enjoy just hanging out for a bit. As soon as we sat down, we were brought waters, and I ordered a hot cocoa. It was really good -- the whipped cream was super thick and honestly looked like a scoop of ice cream on top, which I loved. For my meal, I ordered the chicken and waffles. The syrup with pomegranate did throw me off a little at first, but overall the dish was still really good and very filling. My friend ordered the Kitchen Sink plate, which is basically a breakfast bowl, and they also said it was super filling. We both ended up needing to-go boxes. The service was quick and attentive the whole time. And one cute touch -- they bring your receipt tucked inside a book at the end, which I thought was really funny and creative. Overall, the food was great, the vibes were fun, and we had a really good experience. I'd definitely come back!
Went on a very cold and foggy Friday morning in January 2026. There was a line out the door. This place is popular! We finally got to the front of the line, to find out that this line was just to sign in to wait for an open table. Okay, I signed us up, and gave the Front Door Guy (FDG) my cell number. 45 minutes later, after watching several parties who arrived behind us get seated, I asked FDG when we might be seated. Was told that we were texted about 15 minutes prior. Checked my phone, no incoming texts received. Asked what phone number they had in their system, FDG read back a completely different number (no typo or transposed digits, just completely different). Pointed this out to FDG, and got an indifferent shrug. Grrr... Finally we were seated about five minutes later, because at this point we were literally the only party still waiting outside. Once seated, service was fine, and our server was pleasant. My mates were reasonably happy with their dishes (chicken and waffle for one and kitchen sink for the other) but my breakfast burrito was mid at best. I was unaware that B&B puts their cheese on the exterior of the burrito and broils it. The burrito was edible but all I could taste was the slightly scorched broiled cheese. Overall, this visit was a decidedly mixed experience. I wouldn't mind returning to this place, but I likely won't suggest it to my friends as an option when looking for brunch spots, primarily due to the wait. The weather had better be more pleasant than my visit if I'm expected to wait outside for a long time.
After hearing so much about this restaurant being arguably the best Breakfast / Brunch location in Sacramento, me, my girlfriend and my cousin were really excited to visit this place! The wait was about an hour-ish for us which seemed pretty standard for a breakfast-restaurant with great reputation. Though MANY items on their menu sounded delicious, my party and I ended up getting the grilled cheese benedict, breakfast burrito, pear & pecan french toast, alongside with the bacon chocolate chip cookie and chocolate tres leches bread pudding. The grilled cheese benedict was not really what I was expecting. It tasted a little average with the slices of bread feeling very crunchy with their hollandaise tasting a little underwhelming. The potatoes were pretty plain but the overall rating for this item was a 3/5 for me. The pear & pecan french toast was pretty good, though it was fairly large I felt like I didn't get the same sort of presentation of both the grilled cheese & french toast as I seen on social media. Though I only had a bite of my cousin's burrito I'd say it was pretty good! As for the bacon chocolate chip cookie and chocolate tres leches bread pudding (not pictured), we found our cookie to be fairly burnt and not enjoyable whereas the bread pudding was really delicious! Though our service was good, I can't really agree or say that the food here makes this restaurant the #1 here in Sacramento, maybe I'll give this place another go in the future but other than that this place was just OK for me.
Where do I begin? Let's start with the cons first to get that out of the way. Cons-Long wait time. (And for good reason!) Pros- The customer service was amazing. My husband and I went there last weekend for the second time. The first time we went we ordered a very basic breakfast. It was good enough. It was the Bloody Mary that made us return. Then we got adventurous and tried different food items and our lives changed! First let me say the Bloody Mary Mix is made in house. My husband order a Bloody Maria and I got the Virgin Bloody Mary. It was just as delicious as the first time. Fresh, flavorful and perfectly served in a mason jar. For food we ordered the omelette, grilled cheese Benedict and the pear and pecan French toast. YALL!!!!!! The food came out piping hot. When we saw it coming we missed the anticipation of "yay there's our food" because the gent was carrying what appeared to be a massive amount of food. Guess what? It was ours! The had we known the entrees would be so large we would have both ordered entrees....now the French toast, I would have ordered anyway! The hollandaise sauce was amazing and the egg was nice and runny. The omelette was fluffy. It wasn't packed with meat so if you like lots of meat you should order extra. The French toast was served with fresh whipped cream, and plenty of caramelized pears. No added syrup needed because it comes with its own syrup. I will go back to Bacon & Butter the next chance I get!
Bacon and Butter is a very cute small breakfast/brunch spot off Broadway. The restaurant was seating inside and outside, they have a system for how to get a table that involves one line for putting your name on the list and another for being seated once it is your turn. They are pretty efficient especially considering how busy this place gets! The seating outside has umbrellas for shade which is nice and inside there's tables, booths, and counter seating. Depending on when you go the wait may be longer than other times, I've usually had to wait around 35/40 minutes for a table for 2 and have had at the bar unless we wanted to wait longer. I've been here a couple times now and it's been a nice experience so far but nothing exceptional. Most recently I went with my friend and ordered the spicy chicken and waffles. The part that makes the meal spicy is the hot honey which if you are a fan of you'll really enjoy. The chicken is cooked nicely but plain, the waffle is also a bit plain but has a nice texture to it, and they do top it with pineapple and jalapeños. The meal was good but not the best I've had in Sac. I also had some fingerling potatoes on the side which were crispy and delicious. I had leftovers because the food was filling. The service was good and I would definitely come back to try other items. Some things to keep in mind they don't take reservations and they don't have ranch haha.
