Devaun was personable & professional during his visit. He did a great job at draining our bathtub and tidying up afterwards. One less thing to worry about! Thank you!!
James arrived promptly & was extremely professional, helpful & knowledgeable. We discussed a plan to further explore chronic drainage issues I’ve experienced in my older home. When ready, I will definitely call Rooter Hero for my indoor/outdoor plumbing needs. Thanks so much!
I would give 25 stars, if I could! Logan was great. He was on time, very efficient, and super personable (and great with my German Shepherd!). Also, I even feel that the bill was totally acceptable and I have zero issues/concerns with any part of working with Logan and Rooter Hero. I would use them again.
This started off bad already I called in for drain cleaning special $59 gave the reservationist all notes including saying WE ARE NOT THE OWNER but are responsible for all repairs and she notated the account said it was not a problem so long as our landlord knows ( which we did confirm on recorded line ) he is aware. Asked for them to send driver around and was told they will give me another slot.... Not a good way to start off with a new customer. Try finding another company because the guys wouldn't even step out to look at it. Declined and left no paperwork nothing completely unprofessional and I used to work for their competitor so I would know being a dispatcher of 15 yrs notes are key for technicians to pay attn to. They just lost good business as most likely i was going to need to have the whole plumbing repaired.
We called due to a kitchen sink clog. A few minutes after they began the roto-rootering process, they told my elderly husband they weren't successful and that he needed a $1500 hydro jet job on top of the drain clear out. We paid them $257 and instead called Ace Plumbing, who repeated the same roto-rootering process 2x with complete success. As other customers have mentioned, Rooter Hero is quick to upsell their services, even when unnecessary. An emailed request for a refund was responded with, "I will look into this and contact you within 24-24 hours to discuss a resolution," after which, I was ghosted.
I wish I could post 0 stars or even less. I rarely write bad reviews because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, I am writing this to warn all other people that are planning on calling them for a HVAC repair. Do not do it. I can't comment about the workmanship because, well, if you keep reading, you'll see that no work was ever done. First, I got home on Tuesday after work and AC wasn't working. I first called the installation company and left a message with an after hours' answering service. I called a well known company in the area next, but they told me the next availability was July 10th. Onto the next. I called Rooter Hero because it popped up in my Google search. I called; someone answered. He told me they have time tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9 am. I said great, but isn't there a time window? He told me, no, it opens at 8 but the first appointment starts at 9 to give the technicians time to prepare their trucks for the services. He said the technician would give me a call before coming to my house. I said great and didn't think anything more of it. Fast forward to Wednesday morning. If the appointment was at 9, I was expecting a call around 8:30 or so. No call, so I decided to call at 9. A lovely person named Carolyn answered and told me it was actually a window of 9 to 11 and apologized that I was told exactly 9. I told her that I thought it was odd and had explicitly asked if there was a time window when making the appointment. She apologized again but I asked if she could confirm that I was on the books. She said that I was for 9 to 11 and said the technician would reach out to me before coming. My fiancé was staying home for this appointment, so I updated him on the time window. At around 10:45 am, the dispatcher (who I later found out is named Rachel) called to tell me the technician was finishing up his last job and was on his way. I asked for an ETA, and she said she didn't have one but would have the technician reach out to me. I waited and waited. 11:45 rolls around and no call, so I call back. This time, I spoke with a guy named Art. I explained what happened, and he told me that he would reach out to the technician. Art puts me hold, and I wait for a minute or two. He finally comes back and tells me the window is 2 to 4. I tell him woah, that is not what I was told. He said that they were running behind on a prior job. I told him, well why was I told an hour ago that they were finishing up the prior job and we're on their way?! He said he wasn't sure and things can take longer than planned. I said that's fine and understandable, but the fact that NOBODY called me and I have to call (yet again) to be told this was unacceptable. I told him, quite frankly, I read the reviews on Yelp and saw other people's complaints about not respecting time windows and sometimes not showing up at all. So I asked, so is the technician actually going to show up today? He told me adamantly yes. I update my fiancé, and he is understandably upset while he was waiting at home in the heat. Well the 2 to 4 time window rolls around, and no call. So at about 3:50 pm, I call again. This time I talk to a nice person named Oscar. He tells me that he sees all my calls and would reach out to the dispatcher about what was happening. He tries but didn't get an answer. He told me that he would take a message and send along to the dispatcher about how upset I was and wanted/needed an update. He was very pleasant. However, he told me he would make note of everything. I told him that if they weren't making it today, it needed to be cancelled. Still nothing, so I call again at around 4:50 - another hour later. This time I spoke with Jaguar, and she told me she saw all the notes and how the dispatcher still hasn't called me back so she would reach out to Rachel again. I waited on hold, and Jaguar came back to tell me that Rachel was on a call but would call me back as soon as she was done. Jaguar also understood how upset and frustrated I was. I knew their office closes at 5 and services stop at 5, but since they told me they would call, I called again - another hour later at around 5:50. I didn't get the name of the woman I spoke to, but she apologized and told me there was a technician assigned (Colby) and that he was running late on the prior job. It came out during this call that HVAC is new to them so things are still taking time. This made more sense. **I went over the text limit so I posted screenshots of my entire review**
Our kitchen sink started backing up. I found a coupon online for Rooter Hero to clear pipes/drain up to 75 feet, and they were able to come out right away. Apparently, the guy was able to clear the drain "temporarily" but had to get another guy with more experience to come and look further at the outgoing drain pipes. When this guy comes inside to give me the bad news, he says the drains are decrepit and collapsing and all need to be replaced. He gives me a quote of over $30K for our small house. When I give me "are you f-ing kidding me look" he says something like 'Is that too much?' Uh, no dude, let me just pull out my wallet (sarcasm). He then tries to 'ease my pain' by telling me that if my credit is good, it would be around $270 a month. Right, for the rest of mine and my kid's lives. Seeing I'm not buying it, he's 'able' to take off a few things, and even sounds magnanimous by saying he won't even charge me for a thing or two. He brings it down to an "affordable" 17K. Luckily, while they were outside I had called a plumber who had his own business. I was amazed I still had his contact info. He had done our waterlines in 2016 and was as honest and affordable as they come. He doesn't have his business anymore but when I told him what these guys wanted to charge, he said he'd help me out and get the job done for a fraction of that price. And, he'd do ONLY what's needed. He told me what I was thinking. They see a woman in an old house and think: Cha-ching! When I talk to to the estimator again, he actually asks if he could speak to my old plumber! And, he tries to scare me into using them RIGHT NOW since they're here, and he doesn't know how long the drain will be able to keeping draining. Obviously not convinced, he then says he can hydrojet the pipes to clear them for only $250 (eyeroll). Well, if the pipes are so decrepit, I'm pretty sure blasting them with 250 dollars worth of water might just damage them further. Sure enough, that is exactly what my honest plumber told me when I talk to him later. The worst part was this guy kept hovering and didn't seem to want to leave even when I told him I had an appointment and I had to go. When he finally, and reluctantly, got up to go, the original plumber came in to get paid. Feeling like this company was scammy, and since the person I booked the call with said the special was $79 and not $59 as the coupon said, I tried to clarify the cost before handing over my card. I have to admit that I was a bit in shock over the costs they quoted, distracted because I had to get going, and the person I care for in my home kept asking questions so I felt like the price of $59 was not confirmed. Given these distractions, I obviously asked the guy more than once what the cost of today's job was. Get this, he says "For the third time, it's $59." I'm all for joking around, but for one, he didn't laugh AND, this is a business transaction between to virtual strangers so it certainly was not appropriate. Joking or not. And it's never okay to treat a customer so rudely. Since I wasn't buying their scam, did he feel free to let loose on me? Do these guys get commission? Whatever the case may be I will NEVER use them again, and if you're wise, you won't either. UPDATE: My old plumber who doesn't have his business any longer did the job for me. It ended up costing $1,500 for what I NEEDED done, and I KNOW the job is guaranteed. Also, google Rooter Hero. You will find there are a few old and active lawsuits against them. There is even a newspaper article about their scamming (enclosed). Why they've been allowed to continue to scam people makes me extremely angry. As consumers we are alone out there. The good news is we have the power to warn others and to thoroughly research these companies by YELP, the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and just a plain old google search. Don't let them pressure you! Get them out of there and get several bids, look at their reviews and get recommendations. https://www.kcra.com/article/auburn-couple-talks-dollar50k-plumbing-contract-concerns-rooter-hero/44729020
We had a sewer back up into the house at 10pm on October 29, 2025. I called 3 plumbing companies and Rooter Hero responded within a 45 minutes. Matt from Rooter Hero showed up and said they have an all day price of $79 for snaking a clean out. This several hundred dollars cheaper than their competitors. As he snaked the sewage line he hit a snag that choked up the snake, but was able to free up the blockage. He said the snag was either a tree roots or broken pipe. I decided to have them come back the next day with a camera check the line. The price increased m to a little more than $300 with the clean cost included, but was still significantly lower than the clean out charge alone from their competitors. The next day Matt returned with his project manager Braeden. They ran a camera down the line. First thing problem they noticed was the clean out. It was recently replaced by Gilmore Heating, Air and Plumbing back in March of 2025, but inspected, not up to code. Gilmore removed the original design and put in a 3" ABS "T", they had told me the bull horn clean out wasn't possible in that tight space. Rooter Hero's said that it must to be changed to bull horn clean out or it not California compliant and would fail inspection. The second thing Rooter Hero's camera revealed was a broken sewer line in the yard under the grass. This also had be recently been replaced by Gilmore heating air and plumbing in March of 2025. Rooter Hero's camera showed a complete separation in the pipe. At this time, I decided to move forward with Rooter Hero fixing both problems. Braden wrote up the contract and they started the repair that same day. Matt was present during entire project. They were very thorough and communicated the whole process with me before they started and as they went through the process. They had a team from Rooter Hero out in my yard fixing everything. Matt, Francis and Evgenii dug out the pipes. They took pictures before and after and made sure these pictures were attached to the contract once completed. They found a coupler on a 45° angle that had separated and dropped about 1.5" from its connection. Evgenii repaired all the lines. The city came out in the morning of Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 to check the permitted work. Passed without any problems. Jesse and Marcelino back filled the yard hole yesterday. Kon came today to back fill the driveway and fill it with concrete. Everything looks great. All these guys were professional and did an outstanding job. I appreciate Rooter Hero's dedication to immediately correcting work previously done by a non reputable plumbing company. Then completely walking me through the process. I feel their customer is commendable and should be recognized. I am beyond grateful to this team of plumbing professionals. I highly recommend them.

BUYER BEWARE make sure you contact CSLB if you have issues with them. The story Friday Feb 21st, I contacted Rooter Hero for a main sewer back up. A guy shows up and he takes a look and suggest they run a camera since its cheaper option. He calls his boss who shows up an hour later to run the camera, he then tells me there is a bad break in my sewer line under my kitchen floor. He then gives me estimates from $8k to $16k. I tell them I will get back to them soon I want to make a few calls. I try calling several companies for second opinion, problem is noon on Friday I am either told Saturday or Monday before they can get anyone out to even look at it and if it does need to be fixed I would be looking at next week before its fixed. So no toilet no shower for3 to 4 days potenially. I go ahead and accept the $8k price which includes breaking out kithen tile, jackhammering up my slab foundation, digging down and replacing up to 5 feet of pipe. The come out Saturday morning first thing, I sign the contract. Several hours later they get to the pipe and cut it out, I see no damage. The continue their work not saying anything. They take the pipe and lay it in the front yard while they go get parts. I go inspect the pipe further and see a clog in the pipe, kinda looks like a bag and a towel maybe. They come back and replace the pipe. I dont say anything to the workers because they were not the ones who told me the pipe was broken. I take the pipe and secure it for evidence. Sunday I contact their customer care, I dont hear anything back, Tuesday they come out with the inspector who passes the replacement and they backfill. I wasnt home during this point but they ran the camera again and try to point out a few more issues in the line. I inform them I already contacted customer care and awaiting to hear back because the first break there was no break. They leave, I forward my email from Sunday back to Customer care. Customer care finally responds with pictures of the pipe. Clearly showing no breaks. I email back, Stating there are no breaks, no response, the next morning Wednesday the come and patch the cement. After he is completed I email back and let them know I am now contacting the CSLB and Attorney General and filling complaints. At this point another guy responds trying to tell me that the pipe was corroded due to age and does justify being labled as badly broken. I will include pictures, of the pipe and the response from them claiming it is badly broken. But at this point I am done dealing with them since they are doubling down on their scam. Fortunately I have the pipe so I can have the state see for themselves. I havent cleaned out what is inside so they can see how exactly it was.
What started as an emergency 11pm call at night turned into a huge fiasco. The sewer backed up into our downstairs bathroom. Determined to minimize the damage and get the problem solved I call rooter hero, as they are 24/7. Our initial contact was extremely pleasant, Tommy, the "contractor" came off extremely professional, and seemed like he really wanted to help. They charged 400 dollars to scope the pipes to see what the issue was. This makes sense so I authorized it. They determined from their inspection that the sewer clean out was "broken". I already knew the clean out was a potential problem as we had just purchased the home. I expected them to unclog the obstruction and be on their way. They advised that they could try and they would be unsuccessful. They recommend that the entire sewer lateral also be replaced because the pipe was broken, and to hydro jet the entire house. I almost signed off on their 25 thousand dollar contract, but my wife opted for a different set of eyes. They tried to push her to sign, to the point of her being completely creeped out and uncomfortable. They began to work immediately without official authorization and we told them to stop and that we would let them know. They left a hole in our front yard about 5 feet deep and about 2x2 ft wide. Our second opinion determined that it was just the sewer clean out that needed to be replaced as it was the old cast iron style and recommended it be changed to ABS. We told rooter hero that we were not going to proceed with the contract and then they left all of their material and the hole they made in my front yard there. When I asked Tommy If they were going to fill in the hole and pick up their material, his response was "who's this?" Keep in mind, this is days after Tommy and I were communicating about the contract. Same phone numbers, so he knew it was me. I would not recommend Rooter Hero to anyone. As the total contract to replace the clean out with the second plumber was only 2700 and some change, plus 170 to scope the pipes. I guess the 400 Rooter Hero charged me was a rip off too. They are extremely friendly, it's only to gain your trust, while they try to charge tens of thousands of dollars unnecessarily for what should have been a simple repair. Their salesmen disguised as "contractors" exist solely to prey on people who are not inclined to plumbing and how it works. Again, do not recommend!!!
Had a service scheduled and they didn't have anyone on record to appear, so an on-call plumber was pulled in at the last minute and arrived an hour after our scheduled window. I figured that it was a scheduling miscommunication, but it got worse. The plumber didn't honor the 90 day snaking warranty and said it was a steal so they wouldn't have a warranty on their own work. Sounds like untrained staff and sloppy diagnostics if that's the case. Red flag one. Then he tried to make up that we had a main line issue but couldn't explain what the problem was. Just that it could be "anything." When prompted for examples, they said roots or a cracked pipe but couldn't tell until they got a camera out. There are no nearby trees whose roots can get under my foundation. Red flag two. Camera arrived a couple hours later and at this point it was around 9PM. Their lead sales tech came to send the plumber home and told us they "found roots in the pipe," the pipe was "broken" and that the back up could be causing sewage to leak under our foundation. In addition, the solution was to dig under the tub, sink, and toilet and apply a trenchless lining under the home to fix the problem. Aside from the lack of trees (I did my research on this property) that could affect the pipes, trenchless lining does NOT fix a belly or broken pipe. It's a lining. Red flag three. Salesman hoped he could pull a $27k sale on new homeowners at 10:30PM. The icing on the cake, they added line items that are included in other plumbers' services (e.g. new cleanout in dig prep for trenchless) to try and give the veneer that they were doing us a favor by giving us a discount. NICE TRY. Get out of here. Trenchless Plumbing fixed the blockage with hydrojetting at fraction of the price. NEVER trust this place.
I Do Not Recommend this company! I called Rooter Hero after doing a search online for plumbers to clear a clog in my washing machine drain line. They offered a draining cleaning service special for $79 if I used their coupon. The RH plumber showed up. He took a look at the drain line with the clog and asked some questions about my house which is on a raised foundation. He then wanted to inspect the house plumbing. After the inspection he said he should clean out the main sewer line. He said his snake wasn't long enough to do the job. So he suggested using a water jet that another plumber would have to bring over. I agreed. The water jet arrived along with third guy who was a service writer. The water jet and camera was used by accessing a roof top vent. The service writer asked me to take a look at the video of my plumbing and showed me what was allegedly broken, corroded and collapsed pipe, he said it all needs to be replaced. They said they couldn't finish water jetting because of the obstruction. He then offered price quotes to repair and replace all horizontal sewer lines, install a sewer clean out and repair the sewer line going from my house to the street. The quote for all work was $33K! I had to pay $1500 for the water jet fee because I agreed to it. The lead plumber said that my washing machine drain should be cleared, it wasn't. I hired a local plumber the next day for a second opinion and to clear my clogged line. The local plumber said I was scammed by a bait and switch solution like the water jet fix, and scare tactics that take advantage of layman. The local plumber said my horizontal plumbing is OK, not broken, nothing needing immediate repair.
I actually even give a star because I now am siding with others about these scammers. Last year we had a clogged drain so I called these clowns. They came out and advised it would be $15k to fix since we had root intrusion in the drain and they'd have to replace a section of pipe. Unfortunately we own a duplex with tenants in one side, meaning we couldn't hunt for other estimates so we went with them. Long story, that was last year in October. yesterday we had another back up, so we called these clowns. I was advised they would be out in a 1:00 to 3:00pm window. Problem started when I called them at 1:15pm because of a no show. They stated it would be a 4:00 to 6:00pm window. I called them again at 6:15pm and they said they'd contact the dispatcher to find out. Again I called at 6:45 and was told they'd contact the same. They finally called me at 6:50pm adisi they had a bigger problem develop, and they wouldn't be there until tomorrow morning. At this point I was livid, advising them I couldn't wait as we had tenants and this was unsafe and unhealthy for them (and us). After a few unkind words from me, I hung up. So I called Roto-Rooter, they showed at 7:45pm, fixed the clog in less than an hour to the tune of $671.00 since it was after business hour and the weekend. Now I'll take a chance taking these clowns to small claims for the $671.00 since they inconvenienced us all day and then advising it wouldn't be until tomorrow morning. We'll see who ends up taking it in the shorts, but businesses don't like being dragged into courts. But I'll take that chance. DON'T EVER HIRE Rooter-Hero TO FIX YOUR PLUMBING ISSUES.
THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS, DO NOT CALL THEM. If I could give zero stars I would. My toilet wasn't flushing so I called these guys and they were able to make it out the quickest. I only have one toilet so it was nice to have them out fast. The guy said to start with a snake of the line, which sounded reasonable. He went outside to "look" for the clean out. Didn't find it, so insisted on removing the toilet to snake from inside...but there's a $400 charge to remove the toilet. Ok fine, I told him to do it. As soon as the toilet is off and he tried to snake, he came and got me and said, "I have bad news". He snaked about 4 feet of line and then the snake got stuck on roots so he wouldn't continue to snake. He then called his "manager" to come out to scope it. It took him 3 hours to get there, he scoped it and told me the entire sewer lateral was collapsed and we need to do a trenchless repair of 74' of line....for $36,000....but that's with a discount of doing all the work at once. I laughed and said finish snaking and put the toilet back on. He told me he can't snake it because the line is in such bad shape. I said great, I'll call someone else to do it then. They left without putting the toilet back on and charged me for a full snake even though they didn't finish the job. Update: I had a second company come out and they rolled their eyes when I told them ROOTER HERO was here and I wanted a second opinion. They snaked the full line and gave me a quote for $3000 to repair 3-4' of line that had roots...right under the toilet where the other guy stopped the snake. THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS, DO NOT CALL THEM.
