I’ve used Proven Plumbing & Air for every plumbing job I didn’t feel comfortable handling myself. They consistently deliver high-quality work at reasonable prices. I also really appreciate that they’re upfront about costs before any work begins and they don’t charge just to come out and provide an estimate. If you’re researching plumbers, I recommend checking multiple review sites, like Google & Yelp. What stood out to me is that Proven Plumbing & Air has amazing reviews across all major review sites! I recently had them come out to my house to fix a water leak near my main shutoff valve that was caused by some pesky tree roots. Fortunately, Zachary C. was able to come out quickly and resolve the issue. He took the time to clearly explain what caused the leak, what he did to fix it, and the additional steps he took to help prevent it from happening again. He did an excellent job, and I plan to request him for any future work I need around my house. Highly recommend!

I was trying to get my water heater replaced through AHS. However, the plumbing company assigned gave me a huge out-of-pocket expense quote for installing a lower quality water heater. They were going to charge me for stuff that is a standard install for a new water heater :-(. Instead i took the cash out from AHS and approached Proven Plumbing. I have had several friends and relatives that I had recommended Proven Plumbing based on what i heard but i personally had not had a chance to use them. Now it was my chance :-). Anyways, the price that Proven plumbing quoted was only a 100 dollars (parts + labor + warranty) more than the out of pocket expenses that the company from AHS had quoted but i was going to get a better water heater, longer warranty and also lesser cost overall (with the cash out option from AHS). Based on my overall research, Proven Plumbing had the most reasonable quote amongst other plumbing companies. More importantly, many of the plumbing companies in Austin appear to be very difficult to work with -- my way or the highway attitude as opposed to Proven who are very very customer oriented. We had Enrique to come by our house who did a fantastic job of replacing the water heater and spent a lot of time answering my questions. Many other companies who had come by to provide a quote were trying to gouge me by saying that they will charge extra for a tall-narrow water heater or wanted me to make framing changes (our water heater is in the attic and we have truss-roof). Enrique and Proven plumbing accomplished everything without charging me any extra. So I have no qualms in recommending Proven plumbing for any plumbing jobs. Also Proven Plumbing management (if you are looking at this review) -- I would like to give a shout out to Enrique for a tremendous well done job and for his professional expertise, courtesy etc. At the end, it is the technicians' attitude/behaviour that make/break public perspective about any company. In this regard Enrique gets an Excellent and the top-most grade !!! Pl. continue to do your good work.

I recently woke up to every homeowner’s nightmare… my water heater was spewing water everywhere. It didn’t just make a mess, it affected the water throughout the entire house. We needed it fixed immediately. I called Proven Plumbing and they were at my door right at 8:00 AM. That alone was impressive. Devin and Michael were professional from the start. They took the time to clearly explain what had happened, what needed to be done, and what my options were. There was no pressure, just straightforward communication and confidence in their work. Even better, they had the issue diagnosed and repaired within an hour. Quick, efficient, and done right. The pricing was fair, especially considering it was an urgent situation. If you’re dealing with a plumbing emergency and need a team that shows up fast, communicates clearly, and gets the job done, I would absolutely recommend Proven Plumbing. They turned a stressful morning into a smooth fix.

We had a truly bizarre and awful experience with this company. They seem to get great reviews so it came as a shock, but I want to warn people because I don't want anyone to be treated the way I was. They came out to look at our water softener. The technician barely glanced at the softener (no inspection or even a close look) and told my husband it needed to be completely replaced. When my husband asked if it was possible to repair it instead, the tech said the company doesn't work on/service systems they didn't install. We were surprised they wouldn't have warned us of that when we scheduled the day before by phone, but we didn't make a big deal about it. I did call and speak to the company and let them know what had happened and reiterated that we wished there had been better communication. There was no drama and really nothing more to be done...we weren't going to replace the system without having someone actually take the time to look at it, which this company wouldn't do (the issue we're having is common and generally fixable.) But the company insisted they wanted to speak to us...they called both me and my husband, sent texts insisting that they wanted to "make it right." When I had a moment later in the day I called back honestly just to wrap things up and stop the calls. The person I spoke to was insistent that I speak to Richard, the plumbing manager...so after all of this I expected Richard to be receptive and interested in "making it right"...that could not have been further from the truth. Richard's way of greeting me was something like "you wanted to talk to me???" as if I was bothering him. At this point I had been waiting on the phone for several minutes and was ready to cut my losses...these people at the company wanted me to talk to him, I was not the one pushing for that...so I told him that I didn't need to talk to anyone, said thank you and ended the call. What followed was a nasty text to me from Richard and a phone call in which I was treated with incredible contempt by him. It was truly bizarre and so out of left field and 100% inappropriate. Richard berated me for thinking anyone would be willing to come out and repair our system, he bragged about their 4.9 star reviews as if that meant it wasn't possible he was in the wrong, and tried to guilt me for the tech coming out for free. He must have been having a really really bad day, and he decided to take it all out on me. It was honestly shocking. Definitely the opposite of wanting to "make it right." This company has "proven" themselves to be inept, disrespectful, and dishonest. We spent so much time dealing with them today, all for nothing. Be very very careful with these folks, particularly Richard who shouldn't be working there anymore after the way he spoke to me. Total nightmare.

We had an issue with our electric tankless water heater and they were very responsive. The problem was they talked into having them both flushed. Joe said it would solve our issue of constantly having to try to get the hot water to work all the time. It worked for a day. Joe came back and couldn't fix it. Wanted to charge us way too much money for not only the replacement but an absolutely ridiculous amount for installation. So we obviously went to another company

Our experience with Proven Plumbing is VERY IMPRESSIVE. Everyone from Proven I talked to was really helpful, kind, and professional. They quickly understood my problem and managed the team so extremely well. Our story is complicated. I will try my best to shorten it. We bought a newly remodeled house 2 months ago. Before the closing, we hired DBL Check, Allan, to inspect the house and he found a few issues about the ac and some other things. We sent the report to the seller, Everlasting Properties (same management as NuHorizon Remodeling), and soon they informed us that all the issues were fixed. However, after DBL check reinspected the house, Allan found that the condenser unit outside was still ice-up, warm spots in the house, and some moisture/ water in the dipping pan of the unit in the attic. We then told the seller about the re-inspection report and soon got the seller informed that the issues were fixed. Since the ac issues were recurred, we asked the seller for an ac warranty because it was just newly installed in May or June and should be under the warranty. Everlasting/ NuHorizon then provided us the 2-year warranty from the ac company who installed it, B & J Construction and Mechanical. Then, just 5 days after the closing, we found out that the condenser unit was still ice-up again. We called B & J Construction for the ac warranty. The call went directly to a voicemail without any ringing and we got some texts back without showing any attentions to come to check or fix the ac issues at the house. The same time, we told Everlasting/ NuHorizon and they sent an ac company to fix on the issues and this time, we just realized the ac company that Everlasting sent wasn't the company they provided us the ac warranty. We started doubting what actually was going on and Everlasting didn't even use the warranty they provided us. At the house, the new ac company said that we needed to add another return in the house to fixed the issues, but we felt it wasn't quite right to add another return in the bedroom while the areas that couldn't get the temperature down were living room, kitchen, and laundry room. When asked them if adding another return would really help, the crew simply left and didn't fixed anything! We could tell something must really wrong. Then we decided to schedule a large and reliable ac company, Proven Plumbing, to help diagnosing the ac issues. We can't thank the Proven Plumbing' s team enough. The operator was professional, kind, understanding, and very helpful with scheduling and everything. We were able to got the same day scheduled and window time for arriving and texting when the technician was on their way. Moreover, we got the text, with a link for a real time tracking to see where the technician was on his way. The technician arrived on time in a Nice & Cool EV! You can tell Proven care for community. The technician, Phillip, was EXCEPTIONAL. He was highly experience, polite, professional and very friendly. Different from other ac companies, Phillip diagnosed that the real cause of the ac recurred issues was the ac units installed at the house in fact over-size units (4-ton instead of 3-ton.) Adding more return to the house wasn't the right way to fix the issues, but just covered up the over-sized units installed. Importantly, adding more return will eventually cause moisture in the house and then mold build up. We had a hard time understanding why over-size units wouldn't be good for the house, but Phillip didn't mind spending time explain to us until we could fully understand. He told us to ask the ac installer and the seller to see the permit for installing a new HVAC in the house since the city was no way to approve the permit for 4-ton units to install in 1,782 sqft house. He spent his time guiding us what should do next and where we should go to the city to ask to see all permit works for our house. Phillip as well discussed with his boss to see if any other thing could do to fix the issues without swapping out the over-size units. Unfortunately, his boss confirmed that was the only way to fix the issues right. As guessed, after sending a few emails to B&J, they have never got back to us and the seller, Everlasting/ NuHorizon, who hired B&J also refused to take any responsibility although it was required by law that the seller needed to see the permit for B&J work. Illegally and unethically, both B&J and Everlasting ignored taking any responsibility for the wrong-size and non-permitted ac units installed at the house causing us need to pursue a legal action in order to get the over-size unit swapping out to be the right -size units.

Feels silly to write a review when they are already 4.9, but here I go! So, we bought out home almost 4 years ago and back then the home inspector took a photo of the water heater and noted that the unit had lived it's best life as the original unit when the home was built in 2009. We didn't really see a reason to replace it since there wasn't any noticeable issue other than age, fast forward to last year when we had a tech form another company come out for a tune-up and they let us know that some valve wouldn't even open due to the corrosion so we should pay $200 to replace that valve or just buy a new unit because it was on its last leg. Well, you guessed it, we didn't replace it, I mean, WHY WOULD WE?! Skip to the current time and as I was reviewing the home inspection (because of an electrical issue we encountered), I noticed that the only thing on the inspection that we haven't addressed since buying the house was, YEP, the water heater. The first company we were referred to by our neighbors came out for an estimate and while the price was right and I learned more about what I had already researched, they left me feeling a little disappointed and mildly offended. Ladies, do you know that feeling when a man speaks to you like you're an idiot? condescending? That's how it was and I wasn't about to give them our money. That's when I took to our neighborhood Facebook page! When I posted about plumber advice, no joke, 5 people responded within an hour naming PROVEN! So, I gave them a call. I went online and completed the service request (it was Wednesday) and the earliest appt was on Saturday, so I booked it. You know what? I got a call within an hour to check in with me about what I was looking for and while I was on the phone they told me that a technician was finishing up a job near us and could swing by. I had to go tell my husband that we were "getting a new water heater - TODAY!" Enter - ENRIQUE CHAVEZ. He arrived on-time with a smile on his face and everything he needed to install our shiny new water heater and haul away old faithful. He was efficient, respectful, informative, and didn't leave a mess. My husband even came to me and said "I think he's the best looking service guy I've ever seen". agreed. LOL Thank you, Proven! I'll absolutely be recommending you to anyone in the Austin area whether they ask about a plumber or not.

UPDATE (April 21, 2026): Updating my review based on how the situation has progressed. While the company did eventually restore water service after multiple attempts, I later discovered that the irrigation system was also damaged during the excavation and repair process. Specifically, irrigation pipes that were previously functioning were cut, and the irrigation control wiring was also damaged. What initially appeared to be a sprinkler issue turned out to be a cut pipe causing the leak. I provided a detailed timeline and supporting photos/videos showing that the irrigation system was working prior to the work, and that the damage occurred during the repair process. However, the company has taken the position that irrigation work is outside the scope and is requiring additional payment to fix the damage, rather than taking responsibility for it. I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly and reasonably, but we have not been able to reach an agreement. Homeowners should be aware that while the main water issue may be addressed, there may be additional risks to surrounding systems during excavation, and responsibility for resulting damage may be disputed. UPDATE (March 28, 2026): Updating my review to 3 stars after the issue was resolved. The general manager Richard stepped in and worked with his team to fix the problem. They corrected the incorrect connection, repaired the pipes, and restored water service to my house. I appreciate their effort to take responsibility and resolve the issue. However, the initial mistake caused a complete loss of water and a very stressful experience. ----------------------------------------------------------- INITIAL REVIEW: I had a very concerning experience with Proven Plumbing & Air. During their recent work at my property, their team cut my main water line and incorrectly connected it to the irrigation supply line. This caused a complete disruption of water service and created a serious plumbing issue. This type of mistake reflects a failure to properly identify utility lines and to follow basic plumbing standards. I am currently working with the company to resolve the issue and expect full responsibility to be taken. Homeowners should make sure proper precautions and verification are done before any work is performed. I will update this review based on how the situation is handled.

This is a followup to our review of the fix of the hot water leak in our foundation. The work done by Zack, Victor, and Sam was as we rated it on Mach 9th. The next day, as we began using our kitchen, we noticed that the hot water flow was half its normal level and the level of the cold water flow. We called Proven Plumbing to get that corrected. They sent Cory (I believe that was his name) to fix the problem. He verified that the flow problem was just in the kitchen. The hot water fix had restored flow to 3 rooms - guest bathroom, utility room, and kitchen. The flow was full force as before in the bathroom and utility room. He never checked the fix that had been made. All areas of the wall behind which work had been done were still open and easily accessible. Rather, he went to the kitchen faucet and cleaned the faucet's nozzle head screen - nice to have done- but it could not have been our problem since both cold and hot pass through it, and the cold water's flow was normal. He then verified that the valve that controlled flow to the sink was fully open, which was necessary a necessary step but that valve had not been touched in years. And then that was it. The water flow was still about half that of its previous level and of the cold water flow. There may have been a very slight change, but the problem was not corrected. He offered no other ideas other than maybe sludge had accumulated in the pipe during the 4 days it was unused, and that over time it might clear. And the visit was over. He then left. Needless to say, we expected and expect the source of the problem to be identified and fixed, but that was that. God bless; hope all turns out well, bye, bye. How do you reconcile these two experiences? The one we wrote up on Mar 9th and this one with the consistently 5.0 rating this company has? Our experience was that using them seemed like a "crap shoot." You might score a 7 one time and win or snakes eyes and lose.

I noticed that there was a water leak in my main supply line. I called Proven Plumbing on a Sunday and someone answered and booked an appointment for the next morning. Monday Blake arrived at the scheduled appointment time. He quickly got under the house and located the leak. Blake explained to me the two options - repair of the current leak (~$3,000, it would require digging up some sidewalk) or replacing the entire supply line ($7,000 - 10,000). He explained that the repair option would not cover any future leaks in other parts of my over 60 year old galvanized supply line. Blake gave me some time to think it over, no pressure, and after a short time I could reasonably see that the best option was for a new line. I had the impression from a later phone call on Monday that they would start the next day and that it would be 3-4 day job. Next day it was apparent that there was some communication problem. I called them about it and they called me back, owned the mistake, and scheduled for the following day. The next day they came out with a four man crew and got the whole job done in a day. I was very impressed with all aspects of their work, especially how they went the extra mile when trenching. We have lots of plants, bushes, and trees so lots of roots. When they trenched they worked over and under all the large roots, not just chopping them off. I've never seen anyone do that before, it was a pretty amazing looking trench with roots running across it at a lot of levels. The final bill was the low end of the bid at $7,000; I am comfortable with that given the quality and quick work. I would highly recommend Proven Plumbing, they proved to me they are worthy of their name.

Hooray for Zachary C! Routine maintenance turned into an urgent situation. We contacted Proven Plumbing based on the stellar Google reviews and nothing but positive recommendations from our community FB page. 40+ year old house, time for some routine bib and spigot replacements. The scheduled the consultation for the next day and by the end of the day we had received a quote. We accepted the quote but were planning to wait until after the freeze / ice storm to schedule the service since nothing was urgent. About 3 weeks later we received a call from our MUD that our usage was 5x the average and our meter was running constantly and we should check for leaks. Nothing in the house, I went around the perimeter and discovered an unplanned, small pond in the corner near our gas meter. I called late in the day and Proven scheduled us for the next morning. I should point out the communication is amazing via text updates and even a call when they were running 20 minutes late. Zachary C was our plumber and he greeted us cheerily. I had spent the previous night fretting over how they would even fix this. Zach took at look, didn't blink, joked about not having any ducks yet, grabbed a shovel, and got to work. I'm not sure how he dug it out so fast but just like that the pipe and leak was exposed. He also pointed out a kink in the pipe where it entered the slab, from the original installation, and took the time to chisel out some of the slab so he could round out the pipe and make the repair on the other side of the kink. We're extremely happy with the work and the service and we have them scheduled to come out next week to do the maintenance items.

If you ever need a true professional, ask for ENRIQUE CHAVEZ at Proven. He's a Certified Master Plumber and hands down the most knowledgeable, reliable, and professional plumber we've ever worked with. Enrique immediately came and diagnosed a hot water heater leak that I only suspected and had it replaced within an hour -- even taking the time to drive out and get the part himself. The next morning, when a new flood appeared in the same spot, he came out on a Sunday and quickly discovered it was a completely unrelated leak from our main water entrance. (Back to back leaks? Toll Brothers developers are developing a huge area next to our street and have literally been geo-forming the earth--jack hammering through layers of karst that our homes are sitting on. We have seen emergency plumber trucks up and down our street lately...) Back to the good news! Because special adaptors were needed, the repair couldn't be completed that day -- but Enrique was back first thing Monday morning, crawling under an 18" space to replace half the distribution pipe connections. He explained every step, answered every question, and even gave great suggestions to improve our plumbing system long term. Professional, punctual, and exceptionally skilled -- Enrique goes above and beyond. Proven Plumbing & Air is lucky to have him, and we're lucky to have found him. Highest recommendation possible! I also want to give a special shout out to Yelp users for their excellent plumber recommendations! We couldn't have found Enrique with you, thank you!

Update: My previous experiences were great. This lastest one not so much. I accidentally broke my cannisters flush valve while trying to install a bidet myself. The guy said I should probably also update my handle to a metal one. Well I get the quote and they want to charge me $485!! $180 for the repair. $155 for the handle!?! And $150 to finish installing the bidet that I am providing...which is essentially just unscrew the hose, put in the T valve and connect. I know inflation is a thing but come on. Noticed a very minor leak outside that wasn't currently even effecting my water bill. Cody came out, took a look and gave me his honest opinion even though it meant them not getting my business right away. I appreciated it tremendously being a single parent/income household and now knowing it'll be a costly fix. I will definitely be giving them a call back once I'm ready to handle the fix. Updated: Sent a contact me request in the evening when I noticed a leak and I received a phone call from them as soon as it opened. They ended up moving things around and came out twice in the same day so I wouldn't have to have my leak running all weekend after the freeze. They have been so great to deal with! I would recommend them to anyone. Blake was awesome to work with! He kept me updated the whole time and did his best to minimize extra holes, etc.

We recently had an issue with our sprinkler system due to low water pressure, and the sprinkler company recommended replacing our pressure regulating valve (PRV). Since we had used Proven Plumbing & Air for a couple of jobs before and were extremely pleased with their work, we called them again. Once again, Proven Plumbing did not disappoint. Chad and Michael came out to provide an estimate for the replacement. After checking the pressure and finding that it appeared to be fine, they honestly advised us that our PRV did not need to be replaced at that time. We later decided to replace the PRV anyway since it was quite old, and Chad and Michael returned the next day to complete the job. They were professional, efficient, and thorough. They completed the replacement within the estimated time frame, answered all of our questions, and even offered to make any future pressure adjustments if needed. I also had a great experience with the office staff regarding scheduling, questions, and billing. Amber and Jeremy were both very helpful. Overall, we had another excellent experience with Proven Plumbing & Air and would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services.

I wanted a second opinion from my previous request for inspection of my water heater from a branded / lots of TV commercials / Plumbing and air services. Not only did I have to pay them a $129 inspection fee but the service tech claimed that I need to replace my water heater and a bathroom faucet cartridge at the price of $260 something for the cartridge and approx. $3700 for the water heater. I scheduled Proven Plumbing to come out and the technician was very helpful and showed me a few things to think about and watch but he did not state the urgency of replacement right away. He did suggest replacing the water heater within this year giving me a sense that I have a bit more time to save on this expense But, one thing to mention that really made me confortable is Proven will not only gouge you in cost, but is upfront and explains things. The cost for repair for both devices was significantly lower than the other plumbing and air vendor with their ambiguous commercials and high prices. I plan on using Proven to replace my water heater and bathtub faucet cartridge very soon. Beware of those other places on TV Cheers!
