“I had a slow leak of my hot water heater and called for an estimate to repair. Shane came to the house (no fee just to show up for an estimate) and provided a thorough estimate. Unfortunately, the repair did not work so I had to have a new water heater installed. They actually gave me partial credit towards the new install from the repair effort.”
“After dealing with repeat flooding and a previous "fix" that didn't hold, this company was a lifesaver. They were professional, kind, and extremely thorough. Communication was great, the technician was efficient and knowledgeable, and they went above and beyond by scoping the entire line to ensure there were no other problems. I finally feel confident the issue was handled correctly.”

Red flag
Tiered quote structure for minor repairs: $633 top-tier quote for a sink stopper vs $70 actual market cost — 3 escalating price options framed as choices but described as pressure tactics (review 41LF0twQIO128kWhuMkL).
“Most outrageous pricing on the planet. Needed a sink stopper mechanism replaced. They gave me three quotes each increasing in price. One was $633! Had a handyman do it for $40 and I bought the stopper mechanism myself for $30. I guess the top price of $633 is for absolute morons. Told them to get lost.”
slow_response in 3 reviews; 1 Yelp reviewer reports a 4-hour call-back delay and then being told to call back again — dispatch coordination gap for service follow-through (review sfxRbpUlGctB6eHfgqJV context).

Tiered pricing model creates sticker-shock — 3 escalating quotes for a sink stopper mechanism reaching $633 (review 41LF0twQIO128kWhuMkL); customer declined and paid a handyman $40 for identical work.

The evidence — in reviewers' own words
Critical
“I've had them out twice to my house. The first time was to replace a shut off valve, which was done. The guy got the electric line too hot and blew a breaker and scorched the joist. After he left when the toilet was flushed it blew the line off in the tank ( I didn't know it would do that) so I called them back and had to pay for another service call to have a different guy tell me that's what happened. The second …”
“We had a main water valve that was dripping and Mackin & Sons quoted a repair price of $800. The hot water tank was leaking over the overflow and they estimated about $3000 to repair that. Since I'm a mechanic engine engineer, I called Shorties Plumbing and Akron Ron Ohio and he replaced the main waterline for $200 and said that all the hot water tank a new pressure relief valve because our tenant had the water …”
“Completely unimpressed with this company. I called them out because everything in my first-floor master bath (toilet, shower, sinks, tub) was backing up, and more importantly, we had an active leak in the basement. The plumber, Jeff, immediately jumped to recommending a $500+ camera inspection and insisted on replacing the toilet wax ring to address the leak. I clearly told him the wax seal was brand new, yet he …”
