I had a slow leak of my hot water heater and called for an estimate to repair. Shane came to the house (no fee just to show up for an estimate) and provided a thorough estimate. He scheduled the repair. Unfortunately, the repair did not work so I had to have a new water heater installed. They actually gave me partial credit towards the new install from the repair effort. Shane did a WONDERFUL job. He was friendly, personable, courteous and most of all efficient. I would highly recommend if you needed repair work or new installs to call Plumbing 911 and specifically ask for Shane! My experience could not have gone any better.

After dealing with repeat flooding and a previous “fix” that didn’t hold, this company was a lifesaver. They were professional, kind, and extremely thorough. Communication was great, the technician was efficient and knowledgeable, and they went above and beyond by scoping the entire line to ensure there were no other problems. I finally feel confident the issue was handled correctly. Highly recommend and they have a customer for life now!

Rob was excellent. He was highly experienced, on-time, gave clear communication, did quality work, and took time to explain a few things to me along the way. I would highly recommend Rob and Plumbing 911.

I've had them out twice to my house. The first time was to replace a shut off valve, which was done. The guy got the electric line too hot and blew a breaker and scorched the joist. After he left when the toilet was flushed it blew the line off in the tank ( I didn't know it would do that) so I called them back and had to pay for another service call to have a different guy tell me that's what happened. The second time I had them out to fix a supply line and when I mentioned the last visit (because of the "up sells") this guy said well, if you are unhappy with us you don't need to call us out anymore. Today I went down to the basement to get the number of the company that replaced my hot water tank and found that mackinandsons had put a sticker on the hot water tank OVER the sticker of the company that replaced it that also had a coupon on it. I think that is a very underhanded way to run a business and when I tried to call , the voice mailbox is full and no one answers the phone.

We had a main water valve that was dripping and Mackin & Sons quoted a repair price of $800. The hot water tank was leaking over the overflow and they estimated about $3000 to repair that. Since I'm a mechanic engine engineer, I called Shorties Plumbing and Akron Ron Ohio and he replaced the main waterline for $200 and said that all the hot water tank a new pressure relief valve because our tenant had the water turned up super hot. That about $60. So instead of spending $3800 it cost me $260. I cannot recommend this company in Wadsworth. Such a discrepancy. I licensed plumbing company that I've used for 20 years and maybe he gave me a discount I don't know but the difference between $260 and 3800 is an awful lot. Thanks for listening. Have a good day. I don't expect this to be up very long.

Cliff's Notes: If you need a plumber, don't hesitate to call Mackin & Sons! I made the unpleasant discovery a few months ago that the entire second floor of my house was plumbed with Polybutylene pipe. After reading horror stories about it suddenly rupturing, I decided to have the second floor replumbed as a preventative measure. Seriously, look at the picture. If your plumber ever tells you that you have PB pipe and should replace it, they're not joking or trying to fund an exotic vacation. I talked to several different plumbers but decided upon Mackin & Sons due to Kristian's professionalism, honesty, and the impression that I got that he knew what he was doing. He estimated that it would be a three-day job. Day 1: Kristian and Matthew came out to cut my drywall. Thankfully, the area that Kristian estimated that would be cut was incorrect, and the cutting that they had to do was minimal. When they found out that I was planning on staying in the house while they worked over the next few days, they cleaned up the drywall dust that day instead of waiting until the end. Matthew literally got down on his hands and knees to wipe my hardwood floors clean. I was blown away by that level of service and really appreciated it, considering I have a rambunctious 3-year-old daughter running around. Day 2: Matthew and his apprentices Logan and Alex were onsite for the whole day while they installed new fixtures for me and ran PEX. One of my tubs had a mangled copper connection pipe to it, and Matthew suggested that they'd have to leave a small piece of PB pipe and then connect PEX to it. When I asked him if I could run out and buy a new faucet for him to install and properly run PEX to it, he was more than happy to do that and charged me a reasonable amount to do so. Day 3: Matthew and Alex were onsite to finish up their work. The most important result, other than no longer having PB in my house, was that there were not any leaks. Once again, they impressed me by wiping everything down and mopping the floors to get rid of any last traces of drywall dust and sawdust. Other than the giant holes in my ceiling and upgraded tub/shower fixtures, I can't tell that they were here! :)

I hired this company to go to my mother’s home to address a clogged drain and a fix a pipe that was not working. The plumber partially cleared the drain (it is still not draining properly) and thawed the pipe that we found out was frozen. I was charged $513 for this service. At no point was I informed that the pipe was likely to refreeze or that there were preventative measures that should be taken. There was no follow-up communication with me or my mother to explain potential risks. The pipe froze again the very next day and ultimately burst. The same plumber returned and confirmed the pipe had burst, recommending a leak detection company and stating they could return to repair it after the leak was located. By that point, significant damage had already occurred. When I contacted the company to ask why I had not been informed that this could become a larger issue during the initial visit, it took several days to receive a response. I ultimately spoke with Brandy Freeman regarding a refund of the initial service fee, given that the original issue was not properly resolved and no preventative guidance was provided. I was later informed that no refund or adjustment would be issued. As a result, I am now out thousands of dollars in water damage repairs and had to hire another company to properly address the issue. This experience was extremely disappointing and costly. I initially chose this company because of its highly rated reviews, but that was the case. I would recommend you take your business elsewhere I payed premium prices and was met with awful customer service and terrible expertise.

Completely unimpressed with this company. I called them out because everything in my first-floor master bath (toilet, shower, sinks, tub) was backing up, and more importantly, we had an active leak in the basement. The plumber, Jeff, immediately jumped to recommending a $500+ camera inspection and insisted on replacing the toilet wax ring to address the leak. I clearly told him the wax seal was brand new, yet he dismissed that and pushed forward with his assumption anyway. There was no real effort made to properly diagnose where the leak was actually coming from, he simply defaulted to the easiest, most convenient answer. When I expressed concern that my primary issue, the leak, wasn’t truly being addressed, his response was to tell me I was free to get another quote. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. Had I not already done some investigation myself and blindly trusted their “professional” recommendation, I would have been $500+ out with the exact same problem still unresolved. That speaks volumes. As someone who works in customer service, I take ownership of my clients’ issues and see them through to the best possible resolution. That level of accountability and professionalism was completely lacking here. There was no sense of urgency, no problem-solving, and frankly, no integrity in how this situation was handled. It felt like they were more interested in pushing a billable service than actually helping solve the problem. I would not trust a company like this in my home.

Excellent service & quality workmanship! I had a very small, slow leak on a kitchen sink faucet. I called based on a recommendation from our builder (not the same company that did our construction plumbing) and I was able to have someone out the next morning. I was given a text, with photo, who would show up. When he was running late due to a company meeting, I was given a call to let me know he was running behind (in the end, only by 10 minutes)when Anthony arrived, he was extremely professional! He was courteous, knowledgeable & clean (in appearance, wore shoe covers & left under the sink debris free) Anthony did not try to "up-sell" me in any other services, as many companies do in today's world. They don't do electrical, drywall cutting/repair or HVAC, although, they will definitely point you in the right direction if you need those additional services to complete your plumbing repair. I did suspect it was either the valve stem or the spray hose so I called Kohler for those parts ( free lifetime warranty) and had them ready to go which did save me some money in the end. Even if I hadn't & it was more of an "emergency " situation, I wasn't going to be gouged. Anthony was very upfront about pricing & it's not unreasonable.

My father-in-law had a new water heater installed by a different plumber about six weeks ago. Ever since then, all of the hot water taps in his house have sputtered excessive amounts of air when they are turned on. It was so noisy that it scared his dog! We tried calling the plumber who installed the heater to address the issue, but he stopped returning our calls. After trying a couple DIY solutions, we decided it was time to seek professional help. And professional is exactly what we got with Mackin & Sons. Mike and Anthony were polite, honest, and most of all, knowledgeable. They had seen issues like ours and knew exactly how to fix it. They were upfront about what we could expect. They were perfectly punctual - Mike answered my call on the second ring and Anthony showed up two minutes before the start of the service window. And most importantly, they fixed the issue fast. No one wants to spend more money on a brand new water heater. But after the unprofessional behavior of the previous plumber and living with disruptive water taps for weeks on end, it was almost a pleasure to pay Mackin & Sons their reasonable fee. We have every confidence in their work and highly recommend them.

We discovered we had an issue with our sewer line just before leaving for our vacation on 7/26/2025. Anthony came to our home and was able to determine we had a broken sewer line that was damaged by tree roots. Anthony and Mackin and Sons scheduled the repair to be taken care of while we were out of town by communicating their schedule with my father who was able to give them access to the house. My dad and neighbors were all impressed at how quickly Mackin and Sons was able to completely replace the sewer line (1 day). Anthony remained in contact with us while we were out of town and sent us the photos we needed of the broken lines to help us navigate this claim through our insurance company. We were able to get the pictures to our insurance company while we were in Virginia and had our check from the insurance company just after returning from our trip. Mackin and Sons did a great job! -The Blands Seville Ohio

Receptionist needs customer service training ASAP. Hi, I called in to make an appointment. I was immediately met with an attitude from the receptionist before I even got the opportunity to say hello. As we were going through my information so that we could schedule a time and have the plumber arrive with an idea of what service I needed she was condescending and rude. The day of my appointment my window came and went and I got a text that my appointment was canceled and would need rescheduling. When I called to find out why and figure out when I could reschedule I was again met with extreme rudeness and was hung up on. I will be calling for service else where and hope she gets the help she needs to find happiness in her life.

I wish I could give them a zero! I contacted Mackin and Sons plumbing on 4/4 and scheduled an appointment for 4/5 between 10 and 12. They sent me a confirmation email the night of 4/4. At about 12:10 on 4/5 they sent me a text saying that they were running behind, but I was next on the schedule. I texted a thank you for the update. That was the last time I heard from them. It is now the afternoon of 4/8 and I still have not heard from them. I value their time enough to pay for the appointment, but they obviously do not value my time at all!! My suggestion to all is... keep looking, don't depend on them!

They are nice people, very professional. Came on time and did good work. But beware how they charge. They parse out every different action, each of which triggers a significant fixed separate charge. First it's $80 just to come out. Then it's $215 to install a toilet. But wait, toilet installation needed the pipe snaked, which only took a few minutes but still incurred a separate $190 charge. Nearly doubling the bill. By the time you're done, it's $500 for 2 hrs of work (plus the first inspection trip). Lesson learned. Next time I'll try finding someone who charges by the hour instead.

I had another plumbing company come to my house to give me an estimate. That was $89 and they told me my ceiling needed cut out. That cost another $200. They told me my problem and quoted $600+. I called Mackin they came out looked at issue. Quoted $314. Did the job and told me they would have only $65 to cut into ceiling. I am glad I called Mackin. They did a great job. Will be calling them next time I have any plumbing issues. The other company was also going to charge $500 to replace ceiling and paint it.
