Needed a plumber asap, called 4 different ones, it's Friday noon and no one could come until Monday. Finally, Mr. Rooter said they would send someone. Grady was here within 30 minutes and resolved the issue quickly. I'm so grateful! He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this plumber!
Had a issue with a blocked main line. They hydro jetted it and saved me from having to have the line dug up
Torres I believe was his last name. he did incredible work, he came in, he did his job perfectly i have 0 complaints. he was very friendly I will be calling them for any of my needs from now on thank you!
This company is the worst. It took them three visits over a month trying to get simple plumbing problems fixed. The fourth trip I asked them to leave my house after they butchered my existing plumbing and bathtub. I have never ever seen anyone as unprofessional as these " plumbers " I wound up buying my own parts at the hardware store and inside of an hour I repaired what they couldn't do in three hours. and watch out because they will try to upsell you and convince you that you have more problems. my problem was allowing them to work on my house the first time!
Terrible service and very unprofessional. I won't even give them a 1. That's too high. Their 2,2 rating is too high
Mr. Rooter is the local contractor for American Home Shield. I contacted AHS on 3/28/2021 and requested service for my kitchen faucet. The request was assigned to Mr. Rooter who contacted me and scheduled the appointment. The plumber came out and examined the faucet by taking a photograph. The faucet is an upgraded, high-end, touch faucet. He never examined the faucet to see if it could be repaired. While at my home he contacted AHS and then said that AHS would order the faucet and that once it arrived, Mr. Rooter would let me know and come back to install it. He could give me no timetable because AHS was going to order the faucet. He said that if I wanted quicker service, I could purchase the faucet myself locally and pay Mr. Rooter to install it. I chose to wait for AHS because I have already paid for that service. On 4/16/2022, I called AHS to check on the status of the order. Over two weeks without water in our kitchen was an inconvenience. The AHS representative said the service order had been closed. Mr. Rooter was supposed to order the faucet and install it. I told her that the plumber had said that AHS was going to order the faucet and I had to wait till Mr. Rooter received the faucet from AHS before it could be installed. The AHS representative said that AHS does not order replacement parts; the plumbers order the parts. She said she would email Mr. Rooter to order the faucet ASAP. I waited 5 more days and then called Mr. Rooter because I had not heard from them. I asked for a status update. The person I spoke with said that the faucet had been ordered on 4/6/2022. I found that had to believe since the plumber had told me that he had to wait for AHS to order the faucet. I then asked for the name of the vendor they ordered the faucet from. The person at Mr. Rooter said she could not provide the name of the vendor they ordered the faucet from. I asked if she could check on when the faucet might arrive. She said she could do that but she did not check on that even though I asked her to please check on that for me. I then asked her for the name of the owner for the local Mr. Rooter franchise. She put me on hold and then came back on and said if I had more questions, I would have to contact AHS - that she could not help me further. I asked if she was refusing to give me the name of the local owner. She said that AHS would have that information. I called AHS and they did not have the name of the local owner. AHS placed me on hold and attempted to call Mr. Rooter to get the owner's name and contact information but no one answered the phone; it went directly to voicemail. AHS said that they would email Mr. Rooter and request that they send me the information I was requesting. I am disappointed and frustrated that we have no water in our kitchen; that I don't have any idea of when we will get the faucet installed or even when it will arrive. 4/21/2022 I attempted to call Mr. Rooter back to see if they had received the email from AHS. After waiting on hold for approximately 5 minutes, I was routed to a voicemail box where I received the message that the mailbox was full and could not accept further voicemails, and then I was disconnected. It appears that Mr. Rooter attempted to circumvent AHS procedures to get me to order the faucet and pay them additionally to install the faucet when I have already paid AHS for the service. Their ethics appear questionable. Unfortunately, my contract with AHS requires me to use Mr. Rooter so I'm stuck with this plumbing company.
I will never again do any business with Mr Rooter, and based on the other reviews you shouldn't either. They didn't do any work, but they wasted 2 trips, 6 days, my time, and my home warranty's money. Atmos discovered a leak on our property on 01/22/2021. They shut-off the gas, and we immediately scheduled an appointment with a San Angelo plumbing company who did outstanding work on 01/25/2021. However, they detected a slow leak in the house. They gave me an estimate, but because I have a home warranty company I called them and they said it would be covered. They cancelled their open permit and instructed me to have the warranty company's plumbers open a new permit. While this was happening a city inspector showed up, and inspected their work. However, because there was a leak under the house they couldn't complete the inspection. With the city inspector there I was instructed to have the new company get a new permit, and the inspector would come back and finish the inspection. That same day I opened a ticket with the warranty company, and it was Mr Rooter. I called to schedule a time, but the rude receptionist told me she'd have to check the schedule and call me back in a few minutes. She didn't call back that day. Tuesday she finally called and scheduled for Thursday between 2 and 4. Usually a company will call ahead, but they didn't. At 2:06, the receptionist called and extremely rudely told me they were there but leaving. I asked for them to wait 5 minutes for me to get home. I got there 5 minutes later since I work nearby, but they were gone. I called back to rescheduled, and the receptionist was rude again and told me she'd call back. The plumbers came back about 30 minutes later. I explained the situation and that the leak was under the house. They said they needed to test the line but didn't have a compressor. ON A CALL FOR A GAS LEAK THEY DIDN'T BRING THE TOOLS TO FIND THE LEAK! AFTER I'D ALREADY TOLD THEM THE LEAK WAS UNDER THE HOUSE...Why even bother coming out for 10 minutes? They just left my house (Saturday), and I'm so mad I'm shaking while I write this. 2 different plumbers showed up, and I again explained the situation. The older plumber balked at doing anything and called someone. After the call, they hooked up the compressor and confirmed there was a leak. They said they'd have to pull a permit and climb under the house to find it. That should have already been done, but ok... Another Mr Rooter van pulled up, and the man driving said they couldn't do the work. I told him they just needed to pull a permit and they could. He made excuses, left, and they just cancelled my ticket. I explained the situation to Mr Rooter employees at least 4 times from Monday - Saturday. My family, including my 9 month old baby, has not had heat or hot water for 6 days because of Mr Rooter. It'll be at least 2 more days since it's the weekend and the city permit offices are closed. If they wouldn't do the work that's one thing, but they've been completely unprepared every step of the way. I told them multiple times the leak is under the house, so they knew they needed a permit. I told them multiple times there was a new line outside the house. They made a quick buck from my home warranty company for literally 10 minutes of diagnosis, but they'll never get the opportunity to do any work for me again.
Update: The water damage that was caused by the improper installation of the water hoses was over $2500. I called the company (mr rooter from Abilene) and I was told not to call back, that they will call me with a respond. I asked them for a time frame and they said they don't have a time frame. The company has been working on a response to the reviews I posted about them. On March 7, I received an email from Peter, the owner, explaining to me that it was my fault and that my home insurance needs to pay for the water damage. Mr Peter also asked me why I posted the reviews online. I told him because nobody was calling me. He gave the impression that he was more worried about the reviews then the damage that his workers caused. When the workers (Juan and Leo) arrived the water was off, but they claimed the water was still on. I turned the water off when I was on the phone with them and I'm the one that said I'm turning the water off. The workers saw the hoses, that they installed, were loose enough that you could move them by hand. The technician Leo started blaming the other worker immediately. The workers, Juan and Leo, were arguing in front of me. When they replaced the hose I was told by Mr Leo, that Juan believes that the seal might have broken and that is why it was leaking. I knew that he was lying to me because when Leo was arguing with Juan he said "you can't say that" and that is when he started blaming the other worker. This doesn't explain why the hose was loose. The original technicians Leo and another person installed the hose improperly. They took a picture of the hoses when they were initially installed. The hose became loose after the picture was taken and after they left. How the hose became loose, I don't know but I know that the technicians installed the hoses they brought and they are the only ones that touched the hose. The technician,Juan, saying the hose was loose shows the hoses were improperly installed and the technician, Leo, becoming defensive and started blaming the other worker and then the equipment in front of me shows it was there fault. The workers are dishonest because they changed their statement. Mr Peter, the owner, told me that my home insurance should pay for this. My home insurance will not pay because the amount is below my deductible, and why should my insurance pay for this it was their work that caused the damaged. They are the ones that should pay for the bill not me. Mr Pete claims the technicians ask me if I had any other issues and I said no. This is not true the technician told me if I had any issues to call them but the hose should not leak anymore and left in a hurry. The water damage was not discover until I went to my sitting area in the bedroom until that night. The dishonesty of the workers and failure to take responsibility for their work shows a lot of the owner and the company. Them failing to take responsibility has put my family in a financial hardship.
If could give a minus grade, certainly would. Worst people ever. Liars. Don't use this place, you will regret it. Our water heater was leaking in the cellar where it is located. We have a homeowner's warranty and they turned ticket in to Mr. Rooter. Mr. Rooter staff came out on Friday 1.19.18 around 4:00 pm and inspected the unit, took photos, and made a list of parts needed for the job. They told me they would submit to Old Republic that evening and if approved we may be able to get a new unit installed on Saturday or Sunday. The request was listed as urgent because of continual water running in and out and gas running to heat the water. On 1.20.18 at 8:00 am I call the office, no answer. At 9:00 am, the call rolls to a cell phone; Heather responds will contact the techs. A short time later, Heather calls back saying the techs didn't submit because they had to finish their appointments and are now in San Angelo so will do when get back. Three hours later, I call Old Republic who tells me the report has not been filed. They put me on hold and call Pete. Pete says he is close by and will stop over in about an hour. Two hours later, with no response from Pete, I call Old Republic. They put me on hold and call Pete who says he didn't come by and went to the office instead. He was going to send in the report while I was on hold; this was at 5:30 pm. A few minutes later, Old Republic says the amount is much higher than normal and will take their audit department approval, so they hang up with me and discuss with the audit department. At 7:30 pm, Old Republic calls and says the job has been approved, but that nothing will happen until Monday because Pete has to pull permits. Now it is Monday, 1.22.18 at 10:00 am; no word from Pete. Shortly thereafter, Old Republic calls and says Pete will pull permits today, but will not be by until tomorrow to install. Leak is much worse now and hot doesn't last a normal shower. Wife goes to visit office and Heather says he not in, but low and behold he steps out of his office and he and the wife get into an argument, with Pete threatening to call the police. At around 1:00 pm, Old Republic says get whoever we want to do the job. We make a call, and at 3:30 pm on 1.22.18 a plumber we have used before comes over, drains the tank, takes inventory of what we need, and at 4:00 pm, goes to City to pull the permit and go get the new water heater and supplies. By 7:00 pm, the job is done except a little clean up and hot water is an hour away. Inspected this morning with NO problems. Pete the lazy and his lying company employees will never set foot in our house................ever! You should do the same and call someone else.
FRAUD ALERT!!! These animals came to my home as part of my home warranty with AHS and as a former HVAC tech I knew EXACTLY what they were thinking. The younger guy was rude to my wife as they went to the wrong door and never rang the bell then attempted to mock her suggesting she should have known they were there? Next, these fraudsters stood around as I attempted to move a stacked washer and dryer so they had more room with so much as offering a hand. The kid went back and took photos. But the older fraud already knew the problem or rather... the "solution" he would present. He told me they didn't sell valves separately but I KNEW THEY DID! I said they do, then he said something that made no sense and told me I would need to move the washer and dryer myself and they would have to replace the entire box even though the warranty would only cover the valves? But why would a warranty only cover valves you supposedly couldn't buy? This along with obviously cutting drywall I would have to fix, replacing my CPVS piping with pex without giving me a reason. BUT did tell me the warranty would cover the valves? How could a home warranty cover valves that didn't exist as a part? How would they price them? 1/3 of a box set? I never told them I was an HVAC tech and they assumed because of our home that they could rip us off and tried. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They WILL take your warranty and include whatever they can to max out your repair. I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM WITH THE REPAIR THEY ARE THAT INCOMPETENT. So I purchased the valves myself and will make the fix myself. Save your mothers and fathers and daughters from these dregs of humanity. The WORST!!! Negative 10 stars! They MUST BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS! Sadly the kids name was "Emmanuel." I would not want to be him when the REAL Emmanuel comes back in His Glory against all unrighteousness. He HATES fraud.
There is a reason that these guys have such awful reviews on here. They are dishonest crooks at worst and extremely incompetent at best. Mr.Rooter was dispatched by Homeserve to check on a sewer pipe issue. The technician was nice but did not seem very experienced and had tons of mistakes in his write-up. Communication with the office is horrible and they act as weird middle men for the technicians. I was told on three separate occasions that I would get a call back by the end of the day and never did. They came out here twice and still could not estimate what the repair job would cost. However, they did send me an unannounced and unjustified invoice for $1800 with absolutely no detail. A supervisor was sent out from Abilene "just for me" and go figure...he did not bring a camera and STILL could not estimate the job. He did want me to pay an outrageous $450 for ANOTHER camera inspection that takes less than an hour. I had a local company do a camera inspection for half the price and had an estimate to me by the end of day. They did not experience the mysterious issue of not being able to get the camera through the "Collapsed line." I watched the entire time and there was plenty of space for the camera to go through. Mr.Rooter's pay is commission based and this is most likely why they try to up-charge every time they move a finger and find different reasons to charge you for the same thing. Mr.Rooter is not worth $10 an hour, much less the $450 that they try to charge.
The techs sent to my home were condescending. They also bad-mouthed other plumbing companies and were not willing to do anything to try to diagnose my problem other than flushing the toilet. They were sent out by HomeServe. They stated that I would need to pay them to install a clean out in my yard and proceeded to tell me that I needed to agree to the price and schedule it right then because they were very busy. They did all this while badmouthing other local plumbing companies and speaking to me like I'm a 2 year old. I didn't appreciate the pressure and told them that I needed to get other estimates and they promptly left. I later learned that Mr Rooter should have reported to HomeServe that I needed a cleanout installed so they could accurately diagnose the problem and that HomeServe would have paid for that. Instead, taking Mr Rooter's word for it, I am now out of pocket $544 for something that would have been covered by my warranty. The amount Mr Rooter quoted when offering to "give me a deal" was $200 more. Followup: I received emails from Heather and Ashley as a result of my review. They both expressed wanting to make the situation right. I told them they could pay for the clean out, which would have been covered by my warranty if their employees had accurately represented the problem to my warranty company. They made multiple excuses and refused to make it right.
So not impressed with service and customer service. We had to use them because of our home warranty. The only time they could come was when i had a doctors appointment. I let the tech know when he got to my house that i was about to go into my doctors and would be hard to get ahold of but would call back very fast. I missed his call by two minutes. Called to tell me it was going to be a $1,200 fix. I told him that wasn’t in our budget, and i ask if there was anything else we could try, where he notified me he had already left and there was nothing he could do. Called back to see about having someone else come back and get a second opinion and they would not come back without me paying a $178 travel fee and the best they could do was cut $20 off that fee. This was on top of me having to pay for the work they would do as well. Would not suggest using them if you don’t live in the Abilene area, unfortunately for us, we’re in cross plains and have to pay ridiculous travel fees for being in rural areas. Was hoping for some accountability with the team and have someone at least come and give us a second opinion but because there was no budget we will not be using them. Wasted our only stoppage claim on our home warranty on them to flush a toilet and quote us a $1,200 job when every other source says to pull the toilet and snake first, then try vent jetter.
Terrible service, rude office staff. I had a busted pipe and my home warranty has a contract with Mr Rooter. The tech came out and turned off the water. He told me that someone would be out "either later today or first thing tomorrow". No one called so I called the office at 0900 the next morning to inquire about a time. I was told that they would call me back and let me know. I called two hours later and was treated dismissively and still not told when I could expect someone to come out. I called my home warranty company and he reached out to them and was told that they would be calling me shortly. I took the day off to be home and didn't hear from them before end of business. I decided to go ahead and hire someone else because I needed the job completed. Even with the warranty, they said I would have at least $300 of additional cost. The plumber I hired charged only $500 (and the job ended up requiring a new water heater in addition to fixing the pipe) and was competent, friendly, and thorough. I am planning to install a hot tub soon and now I know who I absolutely won't call for the job. Please spare yourself the aggravation and avoid Mr Rooter.
Horrible customer service and treatment from the owner! Scheduled appointment and they weren't here, I called to check and was told CSR tried to call yesterday and it wasn't their fault I didn't answer the phone! I checked phone records and there was no incoming call from them the prior day. They said they were not done with the previous job and after putting me on hold, said they could come between 1-2 that day and start and come again the next day. We had scheduled ahead of time, took off the day and were told they would complete it in one day. I asked for the owner to call me before anything else was decided. About an hour later the owner called, he continued the excuses and even said that I am not his only customer and he can't guarantee scheduled times! I told him customers need to be told this ahead of time and he made excuses, was very harsh and rude to me and finally hung up on me! I do NOT recommend this company and have seen many of the same reviews about the poor customer service and poor handling of customers by the owners himself.
