Brandon did a great job installing a new tankless water heater for us. Eddie answered quickly my request for a quote as well as any other questions I had. It’s really nice communicating with the guys that make the decisions and do the work. Highly recommend!

We have used Mayer many times. They always provide excellent service. They are always on time. Very reliable, honest and trustworthy. I recommended their services twice this week! 10/10 would use again and highly recommend to others.

We called Mayer Friday morning after Thanksgiving at 8:30 and they scheduled us for between 11-2pm. I got a call at 10 that they were on the way! They completed the replacement for us so quickly and we could not be more grateful! Thank you so much! Highly highly recommend Mayer!

I won't be using Mayer again. Their prices are highway robbery. I must say that Lance, one of their employees and my onsite plumber, was very courteous, kind, and did the job efficiently. In September I was charged $118 just to replace the little silicone/wax seal gasket in a toilet - a $5 part and a 5-minute job. A few days ago, I had them back one more time to see if the price would be more reasonable - but this time I was charged an even more unreasonable $310 just to change the toilet's flush valve - a $10 part and a 10-minute job. There's only 1 toilet in the unit so I had to pay it in a crunch. And the additional charge to unclog the bathroom's shower drain was going to be another $200! ...... I declined the shower unclog. I understand that operating a company has hidden costs such as salaries, insurance, admin costs, etc. And I'm reasonable enough to pay extra for an on-demand, licensed plumbing service like Mayer's. But these prices are clearly a rip off for the work they're doing.

Made an appt last week for their HVAC tech to look at my mom's thermostat. Appt was for today 8-9am. I took a half day off work, drove 45 minutes to be at her house at 8 AM, only for the tech to not show up. I called at 9 & was told he was running late. I called again at 10 & was told that I was his next stop. at 10:30, they called to tell me he had a flat tire & hadn't been in yet today. I wasted a half day of PTO and a 90 minute round trip on them. I'm extremely disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone. It's one thing to have an issue come up, but it's how you handle it. They could have called to let me know, or even been honest in my first two calls in.

This past Saturday my husband and I had a sewage back up in our basement. There wasn't much water, but we wanted to address the problem immediately. We called Mayer Plumbing. After giving us a two hour window to arrive, they came 40 minutes past the timeframe. When they arrived they briefly assessed the problem externally and quoted us $475 to fix the back up and an additional $89 for an emergency call. My family suggested I challenge the price since it was high, but my husband I decided to let it be. When they completed the work they told us it was fixed for now, but that we would have a back up again in three to four months. They said the major backup was past the property line and we should call the city to resolve the problem. Either way, I thought this seemed off since we have been in our home for two years and haven't had a single backup. The following Monday we called the city to have them assess the problem. In my city, the homeowner is responsible for everything up until the main. They suggested I call Mayer Plumbing back and request they come out and complete the job. Not to mention, the city also felt we were overcharged originally. When I called back, I was told a portion of the pipe needed to be replaced and that it would cost $1,000s. I called the city back and they questioned this response and decided to investigate the pipes with a camera the following day. The city found that Mayer had only carved out about 25% of the roots blocking the sewage line (pictures below). They said they could easily get most of the blockage out if they came back and that I didn't necessarily need to replace the pipe right now. Fortunately, our city service workers were kind enough to call Mayer themselves and suggest they finish the job. Mayer came out and cleared out the pipe (at no additional cost). We had a family member come out and ensure the job was done right. As a young, female homeowner, I feel taken advantage of. If the job was done right the first time, I could have saved myself the headache of calling the city and Mayer multiple times to try to have this resolved. I also felt the job was done half-heartedly in hopes we would have another backup so they could have more work down the line. I do not plan on using them in the future.

We hired Mayer Plumbing and Heating to move a bathroom commode and sink within the same room about 4 feet in distance from its previous location. We were in a remodeling project in our offices and this work alone cost nearly $8,000. We couldn't keep their workers on the job more than 2 hours at a time. They would leave for long periods, go across the street and smoked and used their cell phones. We failed the building inspection for this bathroom after their work. The inspector gave them clear guidelines as to what code required. It took 4 visits from the inspector before things were done right. Shortly after the installation was completed, we had a sewer backup in this bathroom, something we had never had before during a period of 48 years. We then had a power flush toilet installed (by another company) thinking that would help. It was to no avail. We finally brought in a plumber with a camera who found a 10 foot chain made up of 2" links tied in knots in the drain just beyond where the new PVC drainpipe that had been installed by Mayer Plumbing was connected to the original steel pipe. Of course, at added expense, we had to have the chain extricated. We have had no backups since having the chain removed. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

WE LOVE MAYER PLUMBING! They have been servicing our home for years and always do an AWESOME job!! Most recently we needed to have the pipe that connects the toilets in two bathrooms repaired. This was a major job requiring removing the toilets, cutting a hole in the drywall of one bathroom, and replacing the original pipe in the basement. To say we are pleased with the results is a huge understatement. Lance not only did all that work in record time, he was unbelievably pleasant the entire time (I don't know if I would have been so jovial making all those trips up and down the stairs!). To top it off, he left the bathrooms and basement cleaner than they were before he started and temporarily fixed the drywall hole so well that we don't feel compelled to get it permanently repaired before Christmas. One major household repair in the December is plenty! We also want to compliment Leo, a young man who joined Lance towards the end of the project to assist with completion and clean up. Leo was also very personable, courteous and hardworking. Kudos to both guys for a job well done!!

We had work done by Mayer Plumbing and spoke to the tech about replacing a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. Jason did a fine job, he was polite and courteous. He gave us a quote of $149 each to replace the faucet and disposal. We made an appointment to have them replaced. Another tech came out and said it would be $199. each, I explained that it was written on the previous invoice that the cost was $149 each. He confirmed that with the office. Then he called me back to tell me that the cost for disposal installation is $149 if it's just switched out but if a sink mounting flange is replaced it's $199. The total assembly was in the box with the disposal, no additional parts were needed and how likely is it that a disposal is just a switch out? Not very. Since this was being done for an elderly family member and I was not present, he continued with the installation. I contacted the office to discuss the additional charge but my call was never returned. I am posting this as there are many elderly people in Parma that need to be aware of business practices!

I needed the sewer line from the house to the sidewalk replaced. It was supposed to be a 3 day job, ended up being 2-1/2 weeks. A lot of down time due to smoke breaks and hours long lunch breaks. Even my neighbor commented on why wasn't there more work going on. However, the job was finally done and seems to be done well. Even though I was told no less than 3 times by the lead guy on the job they would come back in the spring to straighten out the dirt (over 100' of yard torn up) and several calls and emails to the owner of the business, I never got any help. I was told they don't do 'final grading' but all I wanted was enough dirt to fill in the yard. They took too much dirt away and once all the settling occured I was left with huge gaping holes in my yard 12" to 18" deep. I had to bring in a load of gravel to backfill and 2 truck loads of dirt. Sad to see a company that won't stand behind their word anymore. I chose them because it is a local, family-owned business but I guess paying them $14,000 didn't matter once they had my money.

My Wife Catherine and I wanted to thank you for your plumbing svc's. We had several plumbers and home improvement companies quote us on providing a solution to our leak in the bathroom down to the kitchen. Many of them gave us solutions that ranged from Tub Replacement to entire Bathroom remodels. Jason came to speak with me and listen to our issue and worked with us on finding an economical solution for us to fix the issue we were having. Jason simply gave us what we were asking for and did not try and upsell us on more than we needed. Adam was the plumber that came in and did the job superbly. He was professional, efficient and thorough. We thought we had a major unplanned investment with tub replacement and thought the job would take several days. Until Jason spoke with us and explained he can fix this in 1 day for us. We now have the leak fixed, new fixtures and our bathroom back on a 1 day job. We are so glad we called Mayer Plumbing Thank You Shaun and Catherine Rook

This company did a camera scope on a sewer drain on a rental property we own. We live out of state. When we requested a copy of the results (DVD/video) they said they would get back to us. Two and a half weeks later I called back. They said they only provide it if the customer asks for it, they didn't have it anymore and wanted another $125 to come out again! Really? We checked with several other companies (after the fact, of course) and every one said they either provide the DVD or send an email with a written report and attached video...and do so automatically! Unfortunately, we allowed our long-term tenant to choose this company. We believe it was the techs responsibility to ASK if a copy of the scope was wanted. The tenant didn't realize they had to ask. How ridiculous! What poor service! Had they done the "right" thing, they stood a shot at a job worth thousands of dollars. Instead, they lost our business!

Mayer plumbing did some work at the house, I asked the tech the cost of installing a faucet and garbage disposal, he quoted me $149. for each. Another tech came out for the installation....quoted me $199 each. I explained that the previous tech quoted me $149 and it was on the invoice. He called the office and verified it. Then he comes back with to install the sink mounting flange for the disposal it would be another $50. It's only $149 if it's changed disposal for disposal. Now that's ridiculous, disposals are rarely changed with exactly the same model. Beyond that the assembly to install was included with the disposal. So, I agreed as this was being done for an elderly family member and I was not present. However, I called Mayer to speak with someone regarding this apparent bait and switch and my call was not returned...With so many elderly people in Parma be careful what you agree to.
