Leaking still happens after so long time.....I stop using the upstairs bathroom and keep changing paper towels to absorb the water....It took weeks for get the broken parts replaced (it's not installed well; it's loose and I suspect it may still cause leaking). While leaking continues, it took so many calls to secure another appointment and wait all day at home for technician showing up. No one showed up for the first appointment ! They visited yesterday finally and said it's caulking issue. I stop using upstairs bathroom but leaking doesn't stop....I have to call home warranty company and try to get another plumbing service who at least can run the good and comprehensive diagnosis... testing and fixing the issues. I am willing to pay more for the good service rather through this bad experiences. It's been so long and so frustrating.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I called this company to help with a blocked sewer line and the nightmare began. This company will use scare and fear tactics to trick the customer in believing they have more of problem that actually exist. I received a written estimate from Kwik Serv Plumbing to have my sewer line repaired. They insisted and put in writing that I had a "broken, exposed, and collapsed" pipe that needed to be repaired for about $5,300. After receiving a second opinion and seeing with my own eyes that there was not a "broken, collapsed, exposed" pipe. It simply needed to be cleared out. The second company showed me with a camera that the pipe was intact and did not need to be repaired. The cost was about $250. Kwik Serv Plumbing was quick to want to dig up my yard, charge me $5300 for a pipe that was not broken, collapsed, or exposed. Kwik Serv Plumbing over time would make comments about how I need to "start saving my money" that "the tree in my front yard needs to be removed." I contacted the owner Jerry Solan and he basically denied accountability even though I had in my hand his proposal stating "broken, collapsed, exposed". I am filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and will take further action. Please if you value your money, time, and health; DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON!

I debated on rather or not to even write a review as I am so frustrated with this company. My home warranty company sent them out to inspect my furnace because I filed a claim becuse my furnace was not working properly/no heat. On 11/16/2017 at 8:00 AM, Mary Helen from the Kwik Serv Plumbing office called me about the claim and stated that they would send a technician out. I work from home so I was pretty open with flexibility. I received an email that gave a time frame of 9-5 that the technicain would arrive. I have seen 4 hour windows but an 8 hour window. Ok, the day went by and at 4:59 PM I called HWA and advised that the company they scheduled to come out scheduled an appointment and no one showed. HWA placed me on hold to call them and she came back and said that the technician was on his way to my home and that he was caught up on another job. HWA told them that they should have atleast called me to advise me of that. Fast forward......Brent and Jesus made it to my house at 5:45 PM, I showed them to the basement. Brent eventually came up and told me the Furnace was working fine and that he did not see any flame roll out, etc.... I told him that I had 3 other companies come out and they all have told me the same exact thing. He proceeded to tell me that what typically happens is the customer will tell the next HVAC guy what the other one said and they will come back and say the same thing. I advised him I never discussed what one HVAC said to me with any other technician that came out just as I did not discuss it with him until he came up telling me that the furnace was fine. Mind you one company powered the furnace down and tagged it because they stated it was unsafe to use and by law because of the safety issue he had to tag it as unusable. So Brent then stated that he would run a camera through the furnace to get a bigger picture. He came to me and stated that he hate to be wrong but that he was definantly wrong about his first statement and that the furnace was indeed a safety hazard and he showed me the pictures of all the cracks in the heat exchange. Fast forward again..... He wrote up the plumbing work order and advised that his office would send to HWA the very next morning with a description and the pictures detailing that the furnace had to be replaced. Friday morning I received a call from Mary Helen stating that she was sending the proposal over to HWA and that they usually move faster if the customer called later in the day to follow up on it. Ok, so I did just that....around 12 noon I received a call from HWA expaining that they had approved for the furnace to be replaced but wanted to discuss some charges that they did not cover and that we would pay directly to Kwik Serv Plumbing and Heating. Now mind you Kwik Serv NEVER discussed these installation charges with me they sent this to HWA, * Removal of A Coil- $ 595.00 * Transition Ductwork- $ 599.00 * Gas Line Modification- $ 139.00 * Electrical Modification- $ 99.00 * Disposal of Sheet Metal- $ 144.00 * Removal of Humidifier- $ 50.00 (We don't have one) * Post Installation Inspection $ 249.00 (To check their own work) Total- $ 1,875.00 for installing a furnace I advised HWA that we do not even have a humidifier for them to remove so how are they charging us for the removal of something we don"t even have. Also they charging us $ 249.00 to check their own work after they complete the job they are already being Paid to do? So HWA stated that they would send an email to the company inquring about the charge of the removal of humidifier. I called Kwik Serv and spoke with Mary Helen and asked her myself about the charge of the Humidifier and she said that was their mistake and that they had removed the charge and sent the new quote back to HWA. OK so the cost went from $ 1875 to $ 1825.00 (Wow real big deal). I told HWA I did not approve of Kwik Serv quote as they seem shady and they were trying to milk the situation by over charging. Long story short I called the village of Waukegan to inquire about pulling a permit for the job. They asked who the contractor was and I gave them the name of Kwik Serv Plumbing. The lady at the Wauken Building and Code advised me that Kwik Serv Plumbing is not licensed/registered for HVAC only plumbing. They advised me that Kwik Serv would need to present a new license/certificate showing certification in HVAC along with insurance and bond papers covering that. I could not use them even if I wanted to because I wanted the work of whomever replaced my furnace to be properly inspected by the village after the completion. I will not be using Kwik Serv for many reasons the over charging, the lack of respect for customer time and the fact that the Village stated they are not registered for HVAC. I advise eveyone regardless of whom you chose to replace a furnace, AC or any type of work pull the proper permit and check their creditals to ensure they are licensed/registered in that line of work.

This company came out twice for a water leak. The person who made the appointment did not instruct me to turn off the water valve as other companies did. They also insisted that I needed a new toilet even though I had a new system put into the tank. The first time they installed a new flush valve. I even was nice enough to pay for this flush valve even though I didn't have to. When I flushed the toilet after they left, the water didn't fill the tank until I tapped on the fill valve. The second time they adjusted the chain to the flapper. Again, the toilet only fills when I tap on the valve with my finger. The third time gets messy. I scheduled an appointment and the plumber was sick, understandable but no one called since I was not even on the schedule. When I scheduled another appointment for the following day, I received no notification that they weren't coming out since they had my wrong phone number on file. No one bothered to do an online search for my right phone number. When I called to confirm they told me to get a second opinion since they feel that I have a faulty toilet. They told me to call when I want a new toilet installed. I called the pros and we'll see what they recommend My perspective is that Kwik Serv is unprofessional since they did not honor an appointment that they made, whether or not the scheduler was new. I would not give this organization my money again. I waited around two afternoons for them since they made a mistake entering my phone number. UPDATE: Black Diamond came out today and said that the Fluid Master valve was stuck. I gave him some WD-40 and it worked like a charm. He didn't even charge me for the visit. I did receive a quote for a new Fluid Master and a new toilet for when that time comes. I'll use Black Diamond's service from now on. The rep was running behind but I received a phone call letting me know that the plumber was still on his way.

I wish I could give 0 star. This is a scam company. My American Home Shield Insurance dispatched this company to service a heater tank leaking issue. John from this company came in with his intern. John opened the door at the bottom and checked the top, and told me that, the water was definitely not coming from the tank. I told him, look at the water, the water line is only surrounding the tank and not touching anything else. I also pointed to him that there were water inside the water tank at the bottom layer. He saw that and still insisted that the water was not coming from the tank. He kept saying that he had been doing this for 20 years and he knew what he was doing, but totally blind to what he saw. He was intolerant to any question I asked and he seemed to be defensive. I was just providing information to him. Quickly he got very impatient and told me to get a second opinion if I wanted. He asked me to call the insurance again and get an AC guy here to check the AC. After he left, I called Kwik and their agent talked with John and told me that John still insisted it's not from hot water tank. I had no choice but to call the insurance company to have an AC service. The AC service came in today and checked the AC system thoroughly. The conclusion is that, the water is definitely from the hot water tank, which is so simple to determine, by just looking at where the water were. We wasted two days because of this. We could have this issue fixed before an inspection came in (we are selling the house). I just couldn't believe technicians like John can be so stubborn, ignorant of what he sees, and made a wrong judgement with such a simple and obvious fact. People with such poor logical thinking, arrogant attitude, and little professional knowledge should not do the plumbing job.

We had received an appointment via our home warranty, for one of our appliances. Based on the home warranty the claim gets sent out for the technician/company to bid on. The appointment was set BY Kwik Serv and provided TO the home warranty company which sent the information to me. It was 3 business days away (5 days with the weekend) which I thought was understandable/reasonable. I went ahead and took a day off work, expecting them to come in on the scheduled day. The day before the scheduled appointment they stated left a voicemail stating I needed to schedule my appointment. The next day I get a phone call saying "We just got the claim today" and were trying to schedule it for ANOTHER 3 days away. They made it sound like they had just been informed of this claim that day. I told them I would to talk to the home warranty company which contacted them. When speaking to the home warranty company they stated they had attempted to call me and confirm the appointment the prior week (a flat out lie, not what I was told, and I had no missed calls or voicemails from the prior week), and because they "didn't confirm" they couldn't come out today. Again completely different from what they told me. Absolutely dishonest company, I am absolutely offended that they think I was that dumb to fall for their transparent lies. I get if you get busy, or people call off, or other things happen. But I appreciate being upfront about it, not some excuse I KNOW is not true. I refused to work with them and I ended up requesting our claim be put back out for bids because I didn't want to work with a dishonest company. Was scheduled with another company sooner than "Kwik Serv" was able to come out and they were able to take care of our issue.

Kwik Serve was dispatched to our house via Home Warranty of America. After one cancellation they showed up the next day with only a 20 minute notification - only because we called to reschedule ourselves (never got a call from them to setup the reschedule at all). We were told that they couldn't move forward until we paid a $120 toilet removal fee (which seemed high as other plumbers we have used in the past haven't even charged a fee). We ultimately approved the removal charge the tech told us that he was dispatched to another "emergency" job - this was within 5 minutes of our approval to move forward. We called the main office to let them know their tech left the job and reschedule and were told that they couldn't come for two more weeks and we might as well use another vendor; she then hung up on my husband. We are now several days into our plumbing issue and having to restart the entire process with a new company. Unbelievable. It was made very clear to us and HWA that they just did not want to do the job at all (the job to be done was jetting a blocked pipe due to grease build up - nothing out of the ordinary). It's worth noting that this is our second bad experience with Kwik Serv. The first time was due to a problem with our water softener. When Kwik Serv arrived they barely looked at the water softener and told us we needed a whole new unit. We of course got a second opinion and Culligan was able to repair the unit within 5 minutes by unplugging it and re-plugging it in. This is literally the worst customer service experience we have ever dealt with, not once, but twice now. I will NEVER consider Kwik Serv for another job and would strongly caution anyone to consider using them at all.

Me to hubby: "hey honey, do you know why the wall looks weird and wavy...like it's wet?" Hubby to me: "Well, I probably just got it wet doing the dishes. It will dry." Turns out, that water on the wall was actually in the wall. And, when my hubby was taking a shower I heard an unidentifiable loud buzzing noise that sounded like something out of War of the Worlds. It scared the crap out of me, and I realized there was a water pipe leak in our wall that was dripping onto our under counter lighting in the kitchen and further down into our electrical box in the basement. Yeahhhhh...not good. We unplugged the light over our sink area and plugged up the outlet and called our home warranty company. Unfortunately we couldn't get anyone to come out for a few days. We knew the leak was coming from the shower valve every time we turned the water on, so we had to take five minute showers (or sink baths). Mind you, we only have one shower for a family of four. Kwik Serv was helpful and got someone out on a Friday instead of making our family wait until Monday. The technician came out with his mask and gloves, and within ten minutes he identified the problem. He replaced the cartridge and went on his way. Our shower works like a champ with no more leaks! I'm sorry the name of the technician left my brain, but he was so friendly. Now all that remains is a smelly wall that needs to be replaced and a ceiling that also received some damage. Moving on to get quotes for a contractor...sigh. Great to know: Kwik Serv is woman owned!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our home warranty company sent Kwik Serve to replace our HVAC unit, and within 8 months the outside pipes froze. Kwik Serve then gave us an outrageous $3,300 estimate and claimed we’d need to tear open our walls to expose all the lines. Thankfully, we brought in a different HVAC company for a second opinion — and they discovered the real problem was that Kwik Serve had improperly wired the system during installation. That wasn’t the only issue. Kwik Serve also cracked the molding to our attic and refused to repair it. When I raised these concerns to Jerry, the owner, I was shocked by his attitude. He flatly told me that the insurance company is their customer, not us. In other words, homeowners don’t matter. The worst part was their technician, Jeremy. He was extremely condescending and chauvinistic to my wife while I was in the next room. When I confronted him, he became sarcastic and dismissive toward me as well. His behavior was so unprofessional that I had to firmly order him to leave our home immediately. When I later explained this to Jerry, he brushed it off with, “Everyone likes Jeremy” — basically blaming us instead of taking responsibility. If you are reading this and your insurance company assigns Kwik Serve or you are considering hiring them, my best advice is simple: RUN. Run as far and as fast as you can. There are plenty of professional HVAC companies out there who will treat you with honesty, respect, and integrity. We found one — and the difference was night and day.

Honestly, if I could give zero stars, I would. American Home Shield sent this company to our house to fix a leaky sink. The technician was unable to even start the repair. He kept trying to take the handles off the the sink and, in the process, caused substantial damage. The handle is now scratched and chipped, and must be replaced. The plumber caused damage without ever even working on the underlying problem. When he saw that the handles were not removing, it would have been both professional and standard conduct to discontinue what he was doing, call for assistance or let us know that, if he continues to try to remove the handle, he may damage it. He did none of the foregoing. We called KWIK twice to figure out next steps and left messages. No one returned our call. I sent and email to the company and got a response from "Mary", who responded that they could replace one faucet. The result would be that we would have one faucet in the bathroom that doesn't match the other faucet or the bathtub. I sent her a lengthy email advising why this is not a reasonable response a week ago. No response. Here we are, leaky sink with a broken faucet, worse off that before KWIK came out. Unprofessional, unresponsive and completely unwilling to correct their own negligent mistake. Stay away!

Similar to other reviews, I was assigned to this company through American Home Shield. It was easy to set up an appointment in March of 2023 and the plumber (Bruce Weil) arrived on time, but he did not perform any services the day he arrived. He did an evaluation said I needed a new cartridge and new hardware in my shower and that I'd need to make another appointment for him to do this. This is a second home that I only spend the summers in. So, I made a note to call for a follow-up appointment when I returned in May. When I called, I was told that the "ticket is closed" and that I'd need to file another claim through American Home Shield for them to return to actually do the job since it had been more than 30 days since my March appointment with Bruce. Doing this, would charge me another fee with American Home Shield. And, this was never communicated to me. Bruce clearly said that he'd come back and finish the job when I arrived for the summer. The time spent between Kwik Serve and American Home Shield is such a waste. Save yourself the hassle and pain, and call Little Tommy's instead, even if you have to pay a little more. These other companies are just scamming us all.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Stay Away from Kwik Serv plumbing and HVAC If I could give zero stars, I would. Kwik Serv completely botched my air conditioner repair. Jeremy came out and had no clue what he was doing. He ended up installing the wrong part--and worse, they threw out the original part that was still under warranty. That's not just incompetent--it's negligent When I called about it, I spoke with a so-called manager who admitted they installed the wrong part and promisedto take care of it. But surprise--he later refused to fix the issue. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company just to protect myself from paying for their mistake. The "manager" was the most wishy-washy, unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. Frankly, I'm not even convinced he was a real manager. The whole situation was embarrassing and unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company. They do not stand by their work, do not take responsibility for their errors, and clearly have no respect for their customers.
