Thank you to KS Plumbing, and Ryan in particular for fixing our inconsistent hot water issues that had been plaguing us for a while. KS Plumbing has done a lot of work for us in the past and found them to be knowledgeable and generally easy to work with (scheduling, availability of parts, no over-selling). Highly recommend.

I was lucky to get a quick appointment and a plumber, John A., who knew exactly what needed to be done to solve my problem. Courteous, friendly, and efficient, he got right to work, rodded my backed -up pipes, and they were cleared in a jiffy. He told me the cost in advance, and I was so glad that I had called them. I loved that they are a family-owned company that has been passed through generations. KUDOS!!

A week ago I asked Kevin Szabo Plumbing to come to my home to investigate a very large leak in my kitchen ceiling. Tony and Ed were sent to investigate and repair. They were both kind, thorough, personable and communicated upfront what the costs involved would entail. Both men were knowledgeable and thorough. They were careful and respectful of my home and I was very impressed with them. It was evident from the beginning to the end that they were not only professional, but they are amazing representatives of their Employer and his business practices and culture! Thank you, Tony and Ed… I appreciate you, both!

Wanted nothing to do with our emergency situation. His site says emergency services any time , any hour and we were told him he is booked until 6 and would not have anyone available after 6pm today. Thanks for nothing.

The worst plumbing co. I would never recommend them to anyone. They fixed my toilet and after it kept running. I called to have them come back my calls kept going to voicemail. I left messages for them to call me and no one did. They charged me $735.00 to rod out 1 toilet and install a second one. Then they came back and installed new guts in the the toilet they installed . It started to leak 3 1/2 months later. They are a big rip off company. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted this plumbing company on Friday, Dec.30th to fix a leaky bathtub spout. The posi-temp cartridge inside the shower control needed to be replaced, and I related this info to the dispatcher. He advised me that someone would be out btw. 3pm -5pm that day. The plumber assigned called me to advise that he was running late, and arrived at 5:15 pm. He went right to work, but was unable to pull the cartridge out of the valve stem, causing a flow of water to run from the valve and into the bathtub. He advised me that the job required more work than originally planned for, and that he would return by 10:00 am the next day (Sat, New Year's Eve). The water now flowing from the valve, which was originally just a drip coming from the bathtub spout, was now substantial, about the amount coming out of a faucet halfway open. He left without doing anything to stem the flow other than putting a plastic bag underneath the valve so water didn't get behind the wall. He then left and said he would return by 10:00 am tomorrow. I had to turn the water off for the entire house so the water flow was not continuous for the entire evening. The plumber never returned that morning, and did not even call. I called the plumbing company, advised of the situation, and asked for the owner to call me. Kevin Szabo did call me back, and after I explained what occurred, he told me that the water flow should have at least been capped and should not have been left in that condition. He told me he would call me back in a few minutes, and when he did, he advised me that he would be coming out himself to do the work in about 2 hours. After almost 3 hr, Mr. Szabo called me to advise that he was running late, and would arrive in about an hour and a half. After waiting almost 2 and a half hours, I called Mr. Szabo to ask his status, but I just got his voicemail. I then called the dispatcher to request he get a hold of Mr. Szabo and have him call me. Mr. Szabo called me back at 4:35 pm, and said he was at least another hour away, if not longer. As this was New Year's Eve, I asked him if he was going to make it out to my house at all today. He advised me that he did not think so. He did not offer any options, further assistance, or advice. But he said he was sorry. The plumber had not only made my plumbing problem worse, but caused my family and I great inconvenience. I had to scramble to furiously make phone calls to other plumbers to get someone to come out on a holiday weekend to repair the damage this plumber caused. I have used many different contractors over the years for home projects, and not all experiences have been positive. But this lack of concern, irresponsibility, and complete absence of professionalism on the part of this plumbing company takes the cake.

Buyer Beware – Completely Shady Outfit- I had the misfortune of dealing with Kevin Szabo Jr. Plumbing and Sewer, and I strongly advise anyone to stay far away. On Christmas Eve, my pipe clogged, and after waiting a couple of days, I called Szabo Jr. expecting them to fix the same issue they helped with last year using a hydrojet. Instead, they sent out a so-called plumber/ salesman who barely seemed to know what he was doing. He began rodding the pipe for about 30 minutes, but there was no camera, no hydrojet, and, of course, no solution. The clog quickly backed up again, and I was left with raw sewage in my crawl space for days. The plumber was rude, ignorant, and incredibly sloppy in both his work and his attitude. After the attempt, now there were three men total, and they all told me they could do no more. They told me to dig up the abandoned pipe would cost $3k, followed by claiming I needed a complete overhaul of my plumbing, which would cost $12,500. Funny how they immediately jumped to this drastic (and expensive) solution, all while refusing to return with the hydrojet, which is what actually worked the year before. I guess the idea is to upsell an entire new plumbing system instead of simply solving the problem. They also managed to track mud and sewage all over my house with their boots, which was just the cherry on top of an already awful experience. They charged me $550 for absolutely no help, and when I called another company/plumber the issue was resolved with a hydrojet in no time. As for their dispatcher, the first time we spoke he told me, "I’m just the dispatcher, I don’t know anything about plumbing." Fine. But when he called back a second time shortly after, he says, “Oh, I’m looking at your records now. You had the same problem last year. We came out with the hydrojet, but we told you back then you should have us re-do your entire plumbing. If you would’ve listened to us then, you wouldn’t be dealing with this problem now.” How convenient to blame me for not following through on their upsell. It’s clear that they’re more interested in selling you a whole new system than actually solving your problem. I’m sure Szabo Jr. will have some thoughtful response to this and I look forward to reading it.

RECENT UPDATE: I cannot compliment Kevin Szabo Plumbing enough times. Their customer service is exceptional, and my recent plumbing emergency proved just how reliable they are. After hearing a strange noise from a toilet that had not been used in over 12 hours, it suddenly clogged itself. They came out right away and discovered the main line was completely blocked. Because of the age of the house and a weak-looking seal, they advised against rodding to avoid a possible pipe burst. The repair was scheduled for Friday, and I followed all the instructions for limited water use, but after a quick shower the downstairs toilet overflowed with sewer water. I called at 7:30 PM and by 8:00 PM I had spoken to a real person who contacted the technician who had been out earlier. Nick called me immediately, listened to what happened, and arranged for a crew to come first thing the next morning. I was so relieved. Zack and Ricky arrived early, were incredibly kind and professional, and worked all day, including digging a six foot deep hole to reach the problem. They explained everything clearly and showed me exactly what had failed and how they were fixing it. By the afternoon the issue was resolved and I was beyond grateful. Exceptional service like this is rare, but Kevin Szabo Plumbing delivers it. If you need plumbing help, do not hesitate to call them. ****************************************************************** I couldn’t be more impressed with the service from Kevin Szabo Plumbing. From the moment I called to the time my upstairs shower drain was fully replaced, less than 24 hours passed. They went out of their way to rearrange the schedule and get someone out to me as soon as possible since it was leaking into my kitchen, which I truly appreciated. Joe and Tyler showed up right on time and were incredibly helpful, professional, and respectful. I felt completely comfortable having them in my older home and trusted their expertise from the start. It’s so refreshing to experience this level of customer service. They were efficient, responsive, and truly a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing work. I will always use Kevin Szabo plumbing!

Ryan at Kevin Szabo plumbing came out last week to give me an estimate to install hot water tank and remove the old one. When he finished he said I had to pay a service fee for the estimate $89.50 plus 3% credit card charge for a total of $92.18. I was not told I had to pay for the estimate either on the phone, on their web site or in our email correspondence. Prior to that when I spoke to Matt, he did not say anything about a charge for estimates either. In the past 3 years I have met with various workers at Szabo on other jobs and never had to pay for estimates: Dave, Joe, Brandon, Victor. I'm a good customer. I also got estimates from other companies and none of them charged me for estimates. I feel like I was deceived, duped into paying for free estimate because I am a senior which is a terrible thing to do. I was told the charge would be applied to the work if they got the job. But, their estimate was $7500 for labor. One of my other estimates was $1800 for labor. (and it was a free estimate) So, how could I go with such a high labor charge from Szabo just to get the estimate applied towards the work) I do not like complaining or giving bad reviews but $92.18 is lot of money for me, being on social security fixed income. If I knew Kevin Szabo was going to charge me for estimate I would not have called them. They should tell customers on first contact or on their web site. Two days later on Aug. 9 at 8am Ryan called me stating the plumbers are at my location to install the hot water tank. (What? I did not want them to install my water tank because their labor was too expensive and I told the estimator that. I did not even give them a deposit for the labor either. What kid of chicanery is that? ) At 8:30 am same day, Kevin calls me with same comment that his men are at my door to install hot water tank. At 10 am same day, Ryan calls me again upset that I am not there to let workers in. At 10:15 am Matt calls me saying they are sorry for the misunderstanding and it was his fault putting in a work order for Wednesday by mistake. Marion Blazek 708-653-7488

I had called Szabo Plumbing to repair a leaky toilet wax ring on a tenants apartment and was quoted $275, which I considered fair, considering a licensed plumber and fully stocked truck would have to drive there and do the repair. What I didn't consider fair was when the shut off valve didn't work, they charged me an additional $200 to put a new one on. Now I understand if I called them out for just that repair, $200 may be reasonable, but they were already on site for the other repair. Not to mention they never contacted for any additional approval prior to replacing it, just a text message from the plumber onsite stating the new total would be $475. I contacted Wade, to discuss the upcharge and was told I actually recieved a discount as they normally charge $250.00 per valve, but he would talk to Kevin himself and see if anything could be done. As I was away on vacation, I told him I would contact him in A week when we returned.....well, called him twice since returning, NO CALL BACKS. I decided to check my Credit card, and now see, they not only charged me the $475, plus an additional $14.75, not sure for what reason, as I never received an itemized invoice e-mailed as promised. I've always considered them fair in past work they had done for me, but as of now, have lost confidence in Szabo Plumbing and will no longer use them, nor recemmend them to friends and family UPDATE: Upon Kevin being made aware of this situation , he personnally reached out to me, apologized for the error, and made things right. I will continue to recemmend them and use them as a first choice for my future plumbing needs. It just shows he is truely compassionate about customer satisfaction, THANK YOU AGAIN KEVIN FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

***Update***: Kevin Szabo Jr. Plumbing returned to complete the service. I truly appreciate the professionalism of Supervisor Nick and his crew - Josh, Victor, and Rolando - who arrived ready to work and handled the issue efficiently. Grateful for the follow-through and resolution. Request for Follow-Up on Unresolved Plumbing Service We hired this company based on a neighbor’s recommendation to address a plumbing backup issue. The technician arrived promptly, explained the issue, and completed a rodding service that took approximately 90 minutes. At the end of the visit, we were told the line was cleared and were advised to use a root treatment product regularly and schedule a follow-up in one month. Unfortunately, within 10 days, the same backup issue returned. Since then, we have made multiple attempts to contact the company to have the issue reassessed, but we have not received a response or been able to schedule a return visit. Given the short timeframe between service and recurrence, we believe this should be addressed as a continuation of the original service rather than a new charge. Additionally, we were required to pay in cash to avoid a 20% fee for card use, which was unexpected. At this point, we are requesting that the company return to evaluate and resolve the issue under the original service. We are open to updating this review if the situation is handled professionally and promptly.

Everything we have had done has had to be replaced or corrected at least once and sometimes multiple times. I called regarding a sump pump and they replaced it, but the check valve began leaking and spraying water. They replaced the valve, but the same thing happened within a year. Then I was told it was a batch of bad valves and they replaced the last one for free which fixed it. The other ejector pump rocked the whole house every time it shut down. The plumber changed the check valve and attached all kinds of hangers to the framing. After a short time it continued and I called them back and they made some adjustments that helped but did not eliminate the problem. Recently I've had to spend more time at home due to a knee replacement and noticed the problem get worse. I called them back again and they said it was likely the same issue with a batch of bad check valves. They replaced it and then handed us a bill for $120. We asked why and the plumber said the work was done to long ago and we should have called earlier. We had someone out for this issue three separate times. Seems that if the problem was caused by a batch of bad parts then they should have replaced it for free. Takes too many trips to do simple repairs and you end up paying more in the end because you have to pay for their mistakes. Won't be going back.

I have had problems with their plumbers every time I have utilized their service. 2 Water Heater defective, took months for them to correct the issue. 1st WH went out, was identified as defective and recalled by Rheem, yet their plumber went and bought the exact same model, still problems. In between the issue with the water heater, Szabo's plumbers stated their had to be another issue in my home causing my water to go from hot to cold, couldn't be the water heater. Their plumbers began changing items, which in turn created more issues. 3 water heater later and my problem stopped, yet know I have another issue as the plumber came out and swapped out my faucet in my bath tub with a non standard part in an attempt to modify the 1/2" to 3/4" which caused yet another problem. Szabo told me that none of his plumbers did this, yet they did. Why would I call Szabo plumbing if some other company did the work? Makes no sense to me at all. Do not trust this company, first off they are extremely over priced. Their turnover rate on plumbers is off the wall, no one will stay there, I wonder why. Then he attempts to turn things around and states you are lying. Stay away from this company, there are better plumbing companies out there who don't have a bunch of inexperienced plumbers doing the work.

Had a leak from a pipe under the sink to the basement. I was able to schedule the appt no problem, and they came when they were supposed to. The gentlemen evaluated the problem and said that we would need to schedule another appt to fix it. He said someone would call me back within an hour to get that arranged since my availability was not the best. I realized 4 1/2 hours later that no one had ever called me back. I called asking about the follow up appt and then again NO ONE ever called back. Took me sending an email to get a response the next night at 7:30pm. They said that they would be there on Tuesday at 9am. But guess what... Tuesday came and the guy was SICK so someone else was filling in and he wasn't sure if they could do it. However they did end up coming to fix the problem and were able to do for cheaper then originally quoted. I only stuck with them because I knew they were a reparable company. I normally would have moved on to someone else. All in all the people who came out were all very nice and professional. The customer service skills of returning calls could definitely use some work though. Follow through is a big thing and people expect if you say you are going to do something you do it.

I needed a new water heater installed and I also had a leak from a hot water pipe under the foundation of my home. My house is on a slab.. I was worried that I was going to have my foundation torn up. Two employees from Szabo Plumbing came out to replace the water heater and locate the area of the leak under the foundation. They made an appointment to return with a speciality team of plumbers. I had 4 guys here.. Alan, Ryan, Jackson and Joe working on my plumbing for about 5 hours. Instead of tearing up the foundation they all agreed to run new water pipes from the water heater, up thru the attic and to the bathroom. I was very nervous and upset worrying about tearing up the foundation. The guys were very calming, very professional and explained step-by-step what they were doing.. and 'why'. I was expecting this job to cost a lot more than it did. It was NOT cheap, but it could have been so much worse. These guys were hard working, professional and yet friendly and polite ! I don't think I would have gotten this kind of service from most Plumbing companies. Thank you Szabo Plumbing Company for your hard work, and fair pricing ! ~Barb
