Feikema will always get 5 stars from our family! They are consistent, timely, reasonably priced, friendly, and so very helpful! Every visit, even the urgent ones, feels like your friendly neighborhood repair man coming to help fix your issue! Between our multiple plumbing issues and our hot water problems they deliver outstanding results every time! Whether its the owner or the technician you'll get the same experience! Thanks again Feikema!
Superb work! Chad showed up before the office could call me! LOL! Talk about fast! Chad was kind and courteous, he showed me what he had to do and how long it would take. He finished before his estimated time and that included clean up! I will ALWAYS call Feikema first!
When I first moved into my house, the previous owners had put several Feikema stickers on the drain stack in the basement. Several years later, I fully understand why. Feikema does great work, plumbers are nice and courteous (and explain what they're doing), and pricing is extremely reasonable. I've used them several times over the years now for a variety of plumbing issues. I've never had a reason to call up a different plumber because Feikema is the best.
Had them replace my water heater. Was given a price over the phone, and verified it when they came to do the work. Thought all was ok until I was presented a bill for $100 more than the quoted price after the work was done. Was never notified before or during the work the reason for the additional charge. Not happy with their business practice. Would be VERY careful if you use Feikema Plumbing. I"ll never use them again and certainly wouldn't recommend them.
Dirk's efforts with Feikema Plumbing & Sanitation to convince me that the septic system inspection was done correctly obscure the fundamental factors that contradicted the repairs conducted after the fact. What is painfully apparent is the gross negligence in the decision to utilize a disconnected employee to conduct a vital inspection. Had proper discernment been applied, it would have mitigated the associated failures. This inspection should have been completed following the Veterans Administration Minimum Property Requirements, not the pencil-whipped document submitted for closing. The representative of your company assigned to conduct the VA-required inspection submitted a notice of resignation from your company before executing the contracted inspection. The associate disturbed a few inches of the topsoil to give the appearance that the inspection was completed, violating the minimum property requirements. This further demonstrated that there was zero motivation to exercise proper discernment to do the job correctly because the associate's mind was already moving onward with their new career path. If done correctly by a qualified and dedicated professional, the inspection would have identified the crushed pipe under the sidewalk and never passed the rigid requirements of the Veterans Administration's inspection outline. Therefore, the VA inspection would have failed, shifting the required repair to the property seller before closing on the property. You and your co-workers unearthed the 8-foot concrete lid of the septic tank that day to gain access, graphing in an access portal afterward to conduct the inspection properly. Your co-workers identified additional failures in how that inspection was not performed correctly and shared those findings candidly with my wife. I have the photos and video conversations outlining the whole process. Contact me when you decide to have a rational adult conversation about this. You have my phone number.
Had service about 2 wks ago. A lot of things needed to be done. Some things were done ok, others were not completed. Two workers left without having solved the problems, as if they had put in their day's work and "oh well". Right after all the men had gone, I put in call to the owner to advise him that I was not happy with work being left undone and what was the plan to get this done. I got his answering machine and left the message. He never called me back. Right after leaving the message, I walked into one of the bathrooms that had a blocked sink pipe. The mess that was left in there made me even angrier. There was black pipe gunk sprayed across the toilet, in the shower, on the walls, inside the sink cabinet, and all over the floor. No attempt to clean this up was made by the men at all. I spent an hour cleaning that up. I waited all the rest of the afternoon and that evening to hear back from Feikema, but a call never came. The next day I made an appt with another plumber. I had used Feikema for many years, but after this I would never again call them. I believe that two of these guys were not even licensed plumbers.
I cannot say enough good things about Feikema Plumbing. I own an older home, and anyone who has dealt with old houses knows how challenging plumbing issues can be. I’ve used Feikema over the years on multiple occasions, and they have come through for me every single time. Their team is consistently prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and persistent in figuring things out the right way. What stands out most is how much they genuinely care. They never rush, never give up, and take the time to diagnose and resolve issues thoroughly. The work is always done professionally and at a very fair price. I’ve worked in real estate for 26 years, and I know how important it is to have reliable trades you can trust. Having a great plumber on hand is invaluable, and Feikema has saved the day for me more than once on my own personal home. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable, high-quality plumber in Northwest Indiana.
We had a major issue where our sump pump outflow was not making it to the sewer storm drain. A blockage caused a pipe separation close to the house which meant the sump pump was running constantly to recycle the water without actually getting it to the sewer. These guys came in reconnected the pipe, installed a clean out , etc. Unfortunately the blockage could not be removed by rodding. My fault, I let it go too long and it was really impacted! They replaced the pipe from my house to the parkway to solve the problem. They were here a long time working super hard to solve this major issue. When I got the bill I was amazed. I thought I was looking at double what they billed me (or more). They also advised me on using clorine tablets for the iron issue I have to help avoid some of this in the future. These guys are great. They'll be the first people I'll call and I will recommend them to everyone I know.
We had Chris from Feikema come out and work on a clog kitchen drain. Did a great job especially since my wife was insistant that I could do it..."it's just a clog drain, use the plunger." It was more serious than that and I did not have the knowledge or tools he used to solve the problem. When we had two additional problems develop Aug 25, 2020, we did not hesitate to call Feikema and request Chris again, not that my wife didn't think I could solve it..."there's a great You Tube video on how to do it." I tried. The hardware store sold me the wrong part, and even when I went back and told them it didn't fit, they insisted it was the correct part. Chris took care of everything and made sure we were satisfied. Great job Chris!
I highly recommend Feikema plumbing in sanitation from Highland, Indiana, I spoke to Dirk, the owner and his wife Jill initially they were amazing honest and took the time to care about my situation with the leak in my basement with my pipes. The workers that came out, David, Aaron and Quinton were amazing. Explain the process every step of the way cleaned up after themselves were kind and courteous. I didn’t leave until the job was done. I am so grateful that they are still honest reputable companies out there that don’t take advantage of others I highly recommend them for all of your plumbing and sanitation needs. I will be hiring them in the future to clean out my sewers.
I called to ask for a quote for work done on my sewers. 2 workers were sent to my home & immediately began work! Luckily my spouse was still at home to see this & immediately called me. I talked to the owner & he told me that, "he can't recall the conversation (3 days ago), but if I asked when I 1st called he would have told me that it was $150 an hour." I told him, business doesn't work that way. You don't just send workers to someone's house & begin unauthorized work on their house! And to add insult to injury, the workers refused to leave until they get money opposed to leaving an invoice. Will NEVER call these shysters again!
Very disappointed!!! We use to have an older guy come out to drain our septic but the last 2 guys didn't fix the problem. The last guy who works for this company and came to my house actually asked me "Are you paying for this" I responded "No our Landlord is taking care of this". I came home and looked at the septic cap and it has hole in it and it was covered with a brick. My back yard is full of water. Water is coming through the septic cover. I reported it to my landlord and will let him handle it from here.
Chris from Feikema Plumbing was fantastic. Even when what should have been a simple toilet reset took longer than expected, he still stuck to the original estimate. Chris was also super great with my kids. I have twin toddlers who were very curious who was in the bathroom when they got home from school. As they popped their head in and out and talked to Chris while he was working, he was very patient and even showed them what he was doing. A great guy and great service from Feikema Plumbing.
Cody was here to replace some parts in my hot water heater. I decided to go with the parts instead of replacing the entire unit at this time. Since my wife and I are separated, I only use about 50% of the hot water we were using when she was here. Hopefully, I can get another 5 years out of this unit. Always been very satisfied with all my experiences with Feikema at this place (18 years), my Hammond home of 25 years, and my mother-in -law's home in Lansing.
I manage 9 rental units. They know what they are doing. Excellent work at a fair price. Great for underground work. After they dig and repair, they do a great job of backfilling and they tamp the dirt down even with the rest of the lawn. When they had to break up the concrete in the basement to repair the sewer, they did an excellent job of fixing the floor. I've also used them for rodding. They are good at that too. The guys are hard working and courteous.
