Technician was thorough and honest about my issues. He did an outstanding job and was efficient. He was here two years ago for the same problem. He highly recommends replacing pipes under the house which are approximately 70 years old.
I want to take a second and write a quick review. My guest bathroom toilet was backed up and i could not get it to flush. I reached out Crown Plumbing and spoke to Abraham and he immediately had me on schedule within minuets. The next day Pablo came out with amazing customer service and had my toilet working in no time. The level of customer service is second to non. If you have any plumbing needs call Crown Plumbing you will not be disappointed.
Needed replacement of shower mixer valve. Tried changing it myself, but the exist My pressure balancing unit was stuck pretty tight, decided to bring in the pros. crown folks were accommodative, came in the same day, provided with two solutions of changing the exist My one or replacing it with a new fixture altogether. Decided to opt for the new one, though a bit pricey, but given the effort involved the price is probably reasonable. The crown plumbers who came in, were very professional… they came in at the specified time and finished the work in a timely manner. Some companies provide a tracking link to which shows where the plumbers are at, adding that would be cool for Crown. All in a well rounded service experience for me
My kitchen sink was clogged so I called Crown plumbing services. The plumber was on time. He shared with me that my kitchen sink was only partially clogged. He ran some hot water and then it’s unclogged. However, I got charged a $200( after discount) diagnosis fee. He told me if any work was performed, it would have been more than $400. I’m new to this but felt quite shocked for a 5 min time he spent at my place. Is it already so expensive nowadays to hire a plumber? Just would like to hear from you all. :)
Terrible experience! Last year, one of their employees came out to fix a minor problem for me and we happened to get on the subject of all the work I need done. He said Crown also does home remodeling and I walked him through my two bathrooms that need remodeling so he could give me a quote on those and a full house repipe. I got the estimate and it seemed reasonable, but I needed to save money to pay for it. I saved money over months and then contacted them. By then the price had gone up quite a bit, which I understand because the price of everything is going up. Sadly, I didn't get any other estimates and they began work doing the repipe first (I have several complaints about the quality of work below), then the owner came to do a final walk-through of my bathrooms before starting them and stated that the estimate was always for ONE bathroom and I need a new estimate. FALSE! It was always for both baths and the other employee and I walked through them both times he was here and talked about what would be done to both. I even contacted the employee after looking over the estimate to say he forgot that I wanted a new tub and he never said, "What tub?" as my smaller bathroom they claim the quote was for has no tub, room for a standing shower only! I then got their estimate for $20k more. Get out of here! Just doing the repipe, they damaged my brand new fence and didn't say anything, used pieces of my new compost container they took from my backyard to hold down piles of dirt in my front yard, broke out tiles in my tub, which I didn't initially worry about because I thought they were remodeling the whole bathroom. They now say they never intended on remodeling that tub so apparently that's the quality of work (pictured) they expect their customers to live with! Then, I even told the employee that the kitchen sink was leaking after the repipe, he said he fixed it and no, it still leaks. I am a single mom who goes to school full time and works at for a public school, I am far from wealthy and now I have to find money to pay for someone else to fix my kitchen sink and repair tile in my bathroom because now water is getting into my wall -- it hurts to do this as the bathroom needs to be gutted, not repaired, but I'm sure I'm damaging my house further if I don't get this fixed right away. I also don't want to invite these people back into my house to fix the problems they created because I do not trust them. They also kept my $1k deposit that the owner said he was returning and also never repaid me to fix my fence they broke with what looks like a shovel. I am so sad I trusted them and didn't get more estimates because I think now I overpaid for their work. If you are wealthy maybe they will do better work for you, if not, avoid!
Overpriced and would not recommend. Here is my experience: Had them come out to snake a slow moving drain through the back clean-out around a year ago ($275). They said it didn't look like roots or other items, just a regular clog. 4-5 months later water slows again, bring them out another time. I asked them when scheduling to do more diagnostics to see if its roots, etc. Guy was supposed to call when he came by to discuss what he is seeing. He just showed up, snaked, & left without calling. I am the owner and dont live in the area. I just get a text that job is done now pay $275 again. 6 or so months after that, slow drain again. I say I want a camera/diagnostics to see what is going on. They say they have to hydrojet the line first and then will camera, which is $750. Seems expensive but say fine. They show up and say there is something wrong with my cleanout and I need a new cleanout, which is an additional $1,400. Total is now $2,050. In a timing bind so I go along with it. They start digging out the cleanout area, etc. Later after the job is done they call and say that a new cleanout wasnt needed, once they dug it out (maybe 3x4x2 ft hole) they could figure out how to get the pressure hose in. I would just need to pay for the 1 hr of digging. Seemed reasonable at first glance. End result: dug around the back cleanout that was only 2 ft deep, hydroflushed the line, camera'd. Price $750 + $450 to dig the hole (and not filling it back in), so $1,200. Pretty steap for digging a hole. This is all on security cameras and was for 3 hours worth of work, including setup & cleanup. Their day also included a 2.25 hr lunch, another hour where they packed up and left then came back, etc. Then their assessment was that my main sewer line is bad and needs replacement. They give me a quote for that which was $18,000. Complained about the $1,200 and they said too bad, workers were there for 6 hrs. Maybe they didnt think I could see that only half that was actually working? So $400 per hour, including digging a hole. Afterwards got work done from other licensed, insured, 5st yelp plumbers and did the following: - replace sewer main for $6k including permits (Crown quote $18k) - replace/improve back cleanout for $400. (Crown quote $1,400) - Hydrojetting quoted at two other places for $300-$400. (Crown $750).
This review is for pricing/interaction ONLY. No work was performed by Crown Plumbing. Thankfully, or I would be really broke right now. I appreciated that Freddy showed up quickly, was well spoken and very knowledge. However, I was VERY disappointed to be told I needed a new $2200 clean-out installed, in addition to a costly dig out of my sewer main under the house. I couldn't even get final pricing until AFTER they started unnecessarily digging stuff up. Their reason for wanting to dig the rest of the MAIN? "So we can be sure it is not leaking anywhere else because the problem could be anywhere on your main, and it could really ruin all the soil around it". How's that for a scare tactic? Whats even sadder is that their opinion came AFTER going under the house and seeing the issue first hand: Above-ground secondary/kitchen sewer line (2" black pvc) was visibly split in half. Alternate quotes from no-bs plumbers were $375, and $495, and I got it resolved in half an our, with 1 year warranty. My advice: never commit until you have several quotes. Especially if it looks like it's an emergency or if you're working with realtors. Seems that plumbers these days want to know if realtors/property inspections are involved. Whats next? they're gonna want a commission on your sale?? lol c Again, very disappointed by the complicated and overpriced solution proposed by Crown Plumbing. They certainly could have done better, with more respect for their brand and for whoever owns the company.
My Repipe quote for 4 bed, 2 full bath, 2000 sq ft home was a whooping $20,000. That was 8,000 above Repipe Specialist and Advanced Repipe Specialist (both $12,000). I called to discuss the quote and offer an opportunity to adjust the quote but the service rep said it's not worth our time. James Arguelles 5853 Cohasset Way, San Jose CA 95123. Be very careful as it's clear they are price gauging in tough economy. Good luck against competitors at those rates. 1.18.21 Update - Owner called me after the post and offered an apology for the poor experience. I accepted his apology. He explained his reasons they are $8000 more than the quotes from Repipe Specialist and Advanced Repipe Specialist. The cost per hour for his workers is more than competitors and his tools are better. That said the reality is from a customer standpoint the two competitor companies have good reviews and quoted the same job. I have since selected Repipe Specialist who outsource to a local outfit and the experience has been good. In my opinon it will be hard for diligent customers to agree to pay a cost nearly 2x for the same work due to a business model with higher overhead. The silver lining here is the owner did call me back and explained his reasons. I will let the Yelp customers agree or disagree if they want to pay the additional cost passed on by the owner. I opted out. Honesty does count for something and I wish the owner and his company good luck.
After getting several quotes to install a new water heater, we chose to go with Crown Plumbing. We trusted them to choose a reliable water heater model for us and install it. Unfortunately, we've since learned that they were not deserving of our trust on this. They chose to install a faulty model (that other plumbers have since told us is of well-known poor quality) that has failed on us twice in the 14 months since install. Both times that we've called on them to repair it for us, they've tried to claim that they never installed it (despite us having the receipt to prove that they did), have treated us rudely and with disrespect (telling us they'd call back and never doing so, failing to admit any failure on their part in this entire situation, expressing no sympathy for or helpfulness regarding the situation), and, this second time, charged us an exorbitant fee for labor to repair the problem (a few minutes of time at a crazy price for that time) after us spending three days without hot water. We feel saddled now with a faulty water heater and no recourse to help us resolve the problem. Will likely end up having to re-do the entire replacement within the next year, simply because we trusted this business to be experts in their field. Will never use their services again and highly recommend that if you are looking for a new plumber, you avoid this business and look elsewhere.
I was very happy with the work that was done by the team of guys that came out. They found a leak under our shed that was sitting on concrete and figured out a way to fix it by doing some major tunneling. With that being said, I would not hire Crown again for anything. Our major concern was communication with the people in the office. Getting info often required multiple calls to their office. The work started on a Friday and we were told they'd be back Saturday. When nobody showed up it took me three calls to finally find out that they didn't have anybody scheduled for that day. They worked on and off through the following week depending on how hard it was raining. The following Friday they were supposed to be out again and no one showed up. After multiple phone calls I found out that they had dropped the ball and forgot to get someone scheduled. They finally completed the work the following Tuesday. Once the project was complete I called in multiple times asking for the guy that originally came out to give us the quote to give me a call. After three attempts at getting him to call back I never did hear anything from him. I like to feel that I can count on my contractors to keep me informed and respond in a reasonable amount of time. This was not my experience with Crown.
I was at my moms house yesterday for the plumber to show up. She hired Crown Plumbing to move the valve in the kitchen from the sink area to behind the fridge. I was in charge ensuring the problem was solved. Pros: - The guy knew what he was doing - He was quick, in and out 15 mins - He was punctual. Very punctual! Cons: - They charged me $1,534 when the total was $337 The people on the phone aren't friendly... very direct and treat you as if you owe them something. There's dozens of 4-5 star plumbing services in the bay area. They should be very kind and thankful to customers, especially first time ones as we'd recommend them going forward. More details on the overcharging: Called to pay yesterday on the phone and no "thanks for your service" or anything like that, I said thanks, have a nice night. Just awkward. "Name?" "Address?" "Card #?" "Bye" Come to find out this AM, I was overcharged $1,100+ dollars! That's a lot. Luckily I had money in that particular account and didn't face any bank fees if I was overdrawn etc. I got refunded promptly but again, just awkward. Don't think it was the same lady from the night before. I'd prob give a 2 if the plumber wasn't awesome, but he was.
We had a pipe break in the wall and I started by calling Crown Plumbing. Victor came out and look at the situation and realized that we needed remediation. I ended up going with All Action Remediation (amazing people BTW) and afterwards called Crown Plumbing again after remediating the mold and water damage. The second visit was by Sal. He came, looked at the broken pipe and just gave me this look like he's seen this a million times. I told him that insurance didn't cover the job as it was an old problem and he just knew what to do. Sal said he needed some parts and left only to return in about 15 minutes. He just told me that he knew what to do and that I could return to doing my work (remote work). After about 25 minutes, he calls me down and everything is fixed! Great guy, knows his stuff and I have no doubt that pipe he fixed will last longer than the house. Thanks again Sal, for the no BS good work attitude! We all just want to get on with it and you made it seamless, You da man.
Long overdue review... Our water heater failed a few months ago on a Sunday evening. With a full house getting ready for work and school, this qualified as an emergency on our part! Based on customer reviews, I called Crown right away. They called me back and scheduled the job for Monday. I was a bit puzzed as to how they were going to do this because the old water heater seemed to be "trapped" in a pretty tight spot with the plumbing connection blocking anyone's ability to simply pull the unit out. Our tech Sal arrived as promised and when he saw the unit, he quickly called for backup. Between the two of them, they successfully LIFTED the unit out of it's spot without the need for additional replumbing of any kind, saving us $$. Not only did the guys get us back up and running quickly but they were extremely professional, clean and left the water heater closet looking tidier than before. Thank you Crown Plumbing... I'm happy to recommended your services with full confidence!!
It's been impossible for me to find a plumber I could afford and trust. Two very important things for me when deciding who to let into my home and my business. Crown Plumbing was referred to me by a friend of mine also in the restaurant business. I've called them for door repairs, leaking toilets, clogged toilets, calcium buildup, and full toilet replacements. I appreciate every aspect of their business from start to finish. The service calls are seamless, the plumbers are knowledgeable, safe and friendly, and the payments/invoices are effortless. You'll get a text when they are on their way and after the work is done, you get a text message explaining everything in detail; parts, labor, and services completed. AND-the price is always less than the number I've worked out in my head. When have you ever hired someone and the price is less than what you thought? I've used their service more than 5 times now and I will never go back to their competitors.
I'm on a well, and my pressure pump died = no water. I called Crown Plumbing based on, yes, Yelp reviews. Also, I knew that not just any plumbing service around here would be able to work on this system, well systems are more common in more rural areas. Within a couple hours Manny came over and looked at the situation. He said they should have an estimate by the end of the week (it was Thursday morning). This ended up taking a little longer than expected as they were having issues with their supplier. Regardless, Abe, the owner, really does treat you like a King. He really does care about the quality of his work and the reputation of his company. It also shows in his employees. As soon as he became aware of the difficulties, he quickly rectified the situation that day, within the hour. The new system looks great and is up and running after a long afternoon of installation work. I'm sure it'll give me years of service.
