So so highly recommend. 100 stars. The absolute best. Best people, funny, and they do great work. I've used them a lot and the most recent one I was in a real pinch and they bailed me out big time and saved me a ton of money. I am super grateful for them.

I called on a very cold Monday morning when, I'm sure, they had to be very busy but Don came out within a few hours to repair our water leak. The receptionist who took my call was very courteous and got in contact with Don quickly and got back to me to give me an ETA of his visit. Don was also friendly and quick to correct our issue.

Corey did a fabulous job during his visit! Outgoing and friendly, it's always a pleasure to have him stop by. Installed a new kitchen sink (looks amazing!) and did some stellar bathroom plumbing work, American Plumbing is truly a 5-Star operation!

Called for broken drain lever on bathtub. Fixed drain - 3 minutes - Cost $90. Snaked drain (didn't require) - 3 more minutes - Cost $130.

Horrible service definitely won’t recommend to anybody waste your time and try to cheat you out your money next time I’ll make sure I read reviews before I hire a company

Had a quote for a new water heater at our home. Gentleman came out a week later, quoted us $2200 for a 50 gallon tank to replace our 40 gallon tank. Fast forward to our scheduled appointment time, two plumbers arrive, proceed to look at the space and tell my husband in a very condescending manner that the 50 gallon tank won’t fit, and that we were massively under quoted. When asked if we could simply have the tank installed in the space next to the current tank, he very begrudgingly said no and that he could only get another 40 gallon out at a later date. My husband was surprised by the plumber’s gruff and angry demeanor and said he might need to get another quote. The plumber threw his tools in his bag and pretty much stormed out of our house. We never heard back from them and to be fair, would not have had that man back in our house working with the unprofessional, angry attitude he had with us. We simply had a quote and beyond that whatever the problem is was not our fault or even explained. Disappointed because this company was recommended to us a couple years ago, but maybe management has changed.

American Plumbing was referred to me by a friend. Our hot water tank died and started leaking on Christmas Eve. The dispatcher was pleasant and arranged a convenient non-emergency appointment. I tried to make it clear that I had the replacement unit already and that it needed to be moved slightly from its current location. Damien came on time and got the cold water running right away. He wasn’t informed (adequately) about the move. This meant he had to come back the next day and the quote I had been given for the install doubled from $600 to $1,200. The next day he and a coworker appeared on time and got the job done in under 2 hours. Their work was quick and professional. They included a gas line shutoff to our stove with out added cost. They declined to reattach the grounding straps installed by my electrician only a year ago and they do not include bringing the old tank up out of the basement. Although the workmanship was excellent, paying $1,200 for a two hour installation was exorbitant. Their price did not include the cost of the new tank. Ouch!

If I could give zero stars I would! This company gave me an estimate 6 months ago for the Avon Lake storm sewer project and just called me now and said they will not be doing my project for the city since my estimate would be a loan from my Avon lake water department. They said they received a letter asking for them to complete seeding ect prior to getting their money on the project so they are dumping my project! The deadline for me to have had this done is in 4 months so this company caused serious stress for my family! Beware fellow residents in my city who thought they could count on American Plumbing! They go back on their word and do not care about the financial hardship or stress they endure! HORRIBLE!!!

My husband called American plumbing on Friday night because ALL of our pipes were clogged, the customer service girl said that she would need to call us back to give is a time that she could get her crew out, she didn't call us back. Saturday morning my husband made several more attempts to get a hold of American plumbing finally reaching the customer service rep at about 12:00 who gave him the same response, that she would call us back with a time. ......no one ever called us back. My husband then called a different plumbing company and they were there by 2:00 that day, we won't be calling American plumbing in the future!

I called at 8:25am this morning (a Saturday!). The girl that answered, "Heather," was very understanding of my "emergency situation." The plumber, "Cory," arrived at my house within 20 minutes of my call. He snaked out our bathtub/shower drain and left the tub cleaner than when he arrived. He was polite and efficient. He left my house with the problem solved by 9:25am. Not to mention that he took a look at the guts in the toilet and replaced the toilet flush handle for nothing. This is my first experience with this company, but I can't express how impressed I am with their service and efficiency. Thank you!

We have used American Plumbing since the 1980's when they first opened. They have always taken care of our plumbing needs quickly and at a reasonable. price. The staff are capable and professional. We have recommended them to many of the new owners on our block. The scheduler, Heather is knowledgeable and efficient. They have replaced hot water heaters, garbage disposals, toilets, snaked both storm and sanitary sewer lines. They guarantee their work for a year. When we sell this house, I have told the owner Don, he goes with the house. After all these years, he knows the quirks of a 72-year-old home.

I needed a new water heater installed and called 3 different businesses, asking for quotes. Other companies charged a fee just to come out to be able to give me an estimate at all. American Plumbing gave me a quote over the phone ($1,295 for a 40 gallon tank), didn't charge for an estimate, came out the next day to take measurements, and I had my new tank installed the day after that for the exact price quoted–no hidden fees. Don and Damian installed my new heater– they were professional, courteous, and fast. I highly recommend you use American Plumbing if you live in the Westlake area!

The guys did come out quickly after calling, appreciated that. But the one plumber that assessed my plumbing issues was very short with me, used profanity, kept talking about how busy they are and how they can't work for nothing after quoting me a price well over twice what the plumber that I had do the job costs. I know people are busy, but that's supposed to be a good thing if you run a trade business. If you're already too busy to help me, your equipment is too expensive to have reasonable prices, and you're upset I don't know anything about plumbing, don't return my call.

They have become unresponsive and unreliable. We used them exclusively for a half-dozen jobs over five years. However, I called them in late January and asked that the plumber who services our condo project give me a call. I never got a call back, but was able to resolve my issue on my own. I called again last Monday to schedule a toilet install, but wanted to get some input on the specs of the proposed toilet I wanted to purchase. I didn’t get a call back, so I called AGAIN on Friday. No call back. I’m done.

This company is AWESOME, during a challenging kitchen reno, the scheduled plumber cancelled the day before the appliances we to be reinstalled. (6 weeks w/no appliances). I was desperate and American came that evening, looked at the job, and sent over Damian the next day to do the work. Prompt, tidy, friendly, competent, RELIABLE! I am so happy to have found them! I highly recommend! He could have charged me an arm and a leg, as I never confirmed a price, but he was very fair! It was a refreshing surprise!
