Pattern of aggressive upselling: one reviewer reports being given 'scary dire information' and inflated repair quotes ($15k–$20k pipe replacement when only a $400 cleanout was needed) on two separate occasions, with a competing plumber calling the diagnosis 'BS'—reviewer notes this happens 'all the time' according to their local plumber.

The technician who cleared my drain line was great! He was very pleasant and efficient and thoroughly cleaned up the area when he was finished. I’ll definitely call Roto-Rooter the next time I have any drain problems, the response was very rapid (within an hour or so) and I appreciate not being charged extra for a weekend call.
Marcus did an excellent job clearing the plug drain. Verified the solution was complete by letting the drain sources run water for a length of time to confirm plug has been resolved. Both punctual and professional were exhibited during the visit. Worth price due to the comfort and efficiency of the solution.
We called today and got same day service by the one and only 🌟Kyle🌟!! Not only did he unclogged our Kitchen sink, he went above and beyond by continuing to inspect the area and found a leaking pipe. Kyle is a true professional expert and his supervisor (who I got to speak through FaceTime ☺️) was very thorough and detailed in explaining as well. These guys are awesome! They make a great team, you can always count on them, Thank you Kyle!!! 💫
I own a building with dated plumbing under the building. In the last 4 months or so, I have had two separate blockages requiring urgent fix. Roto Rooter is great at arriving quickly, I’ll give them that. Then they charge above market rates to video and open up pipes. Each time they told my tenants scary dire information and gave us quotes to fix issues. First quote $9800. My local guy watched their video, came and fixed a day later for $3800. The second time, different tenant, different area of plumbing - they came out, overcharged for video and open drain. They gave tenant huge scary picture of situation, and told me it was going to be $15k - $20k because the whole pipe. From building to city sewer needed replacement. They would send out guy next day for exact quote. My local guy watched their video, said BS, just needed clean out, charged $400. My plumber said he has seen roto rooter come out and sell big scary problem, give very high quote to fix. Happens all the time. I guess for 24/7 they are very available but overpriced. Ok they can get things open but never believe them, get a local guy to look at.
I had a floor drain that was backing up in the basement. I called Roto-Rooter 1st thing and they sent Kyle out to my house in like 30mins. Kyle assessed the situation. I told him what was going on and he got right to work calling and getting the assitance he needed to get the job done properly. He handled the situation professionally reassuring me there was nothing I needed to do. He completed the job in a timely matter. He answered my questions & concerns and was. I am pleased and satisfied with the job. Thank you Kyle.
