Are they out of business? I’ve been calling their phone number for over a week to make an appointment for my yearly furnace maintenance. The number won’t go through. So I drove to their address and there is a salon there. Any ideas? Furnace service repair in crest hill, Carillon. Trey is a very helpful technician. Happy he was my service provider.
Installed us a new Ac system on the roof of our daycare and cleaned the unit on the ground. Really nice people. You won’t be upset. Call them.
New Air Conditioner installed to. Huge 5 Ton. Had under sizing problems before and Rheem is a superior brand. Good people to have. Thank you
My boyfriend needed a circuit board. This guy said it would be better to replace the furnace. His quotes where TRIPLE of what other companies where for the same model of furnace. I knew the old owner of this company. The new owner seems to be a rip off artist. Find a new contractor.
Had them come out in September to service and inspect our Amana heat pump and furnace. For 180 dollars I was OK with their assurance that we were OK for another year. Last week our heat pump was making some strange noise, so I called them to come out and see if there was a problem. The appointment was for tomorrow. A few minutes ago I received a call from the stating they don’t work on heat pumps. They didn’t have a problem performing service in September, but now when there may be a problem they cancel. Bottom line is they advertise they work on heat pumps, but they only “service” them. Not happy that they serviced it in September and now they left us high and dry. ,
In a word: Dishonest. Our air conditioner stopped working on the July 4th holiday. I was able to troubleshoot the system and found a faulty capacitor, which is a common problem and relatively easy to fix, especially for a trained HVAC tech. I purchased the part and replaced it but unknowingly had one wire in the wrong place. After two hot, muggy days with no ac, my wife called Pozitive Heating and Cooling at 9 pm because they advertise 24 hour service. They didn't answer the phone but called back and said they couldn't come out until the next morning because it wasn't safe to work in the dark - so, basically 24 hour service is an advertising gimmick. They said they would be out at 8 am the next morning. The next morning was raining so they called around 6:30 am to cancel - they couldn't work in the rain (even though it stopped raining before 8 am). They rescheduled for 4:30 pm. Tech arrives at 4:30 pm, my wife explained I replaced the capacitor so the tech said he would look at that first. He quickly discovered one wire out of place and had it fixed in a minute or two. He then presents my wife with a bill for $219. $69 for a "service call" (their shop is 5 miles away), and $150 for an hour of labor!!! This job was complete in minutes! My wife called me at work to explain what happened and I thought the price was a bit outrageous. I called to inquire about their billing procedures and was transferred to the owner Tony. He explained to me that they have huge overhead and expensive costs due to having so many trucks on the road that he must pass on to the consumer. He said he spends a great deal of time dealing with angry customers that felt his prices were way too high. He also told me they don't bill by increments of minutes or half-hour etc. I wasn't happy but I decided to give up because Tony seems like a decent guy that is just in over his head in running a business, but more importantly, I was tired of him dancing around my question of why I was billed an hour for a few minutes of work. And he wasn't interested in making it right. When I got home and looked over the invoice, I see they do bill in half hour increments but they still charged an hour of labor. I was lied to! And I firmly believe my wife was taken advantage of by the service tech. Bottom line: I have no doubts that these people can fix your air conditioning, but if you don't care about being cheated go ahead and call them. If you value fair pricing for a fair service, do your homework and call someone else. This job should have fallen into the $69 service charge, and worst case, a half hour of labor. It should raise serious red flags for the owner that he gets so many complaints that he spends a lot of time dealing with...which he freely admitted.
**Edit**After further interaction with this company, I change my review to 1 star. One month after service, I had an issue with my AC. They came out and couldnt diagnose the issue. The best guess was that I needed a new thermostat. I was charged a $69 service charge. For just a non programmable thermostat they wanted to charge $175. For a programmable thermostat they wanted $195. FYI.You can buy a decent programmable one at home depot for under $50. I declined and decided to make that repair on my own. At which time this company also charged me a $125 no part fee. So they came to my house, fixed nothing and charged me $194. After installing a new thermostat, I was still having an unresolved issue. At which time I called back for service. It was at this point when they told me they couldn't help me and to take my business elsewhere. They also told me they would be refunding the $125 they charged me from the last visit. Waited two weeks for that check and nothing. Called back to inquire and still nothing. It's quite apparent how lack luster they are on there word and how they couldn't diagnose a issue in there line of business. Do not waste your time or money with this company!! Tony sir: Yes all three companies did not satisfy my needs. The first 2 never showed for appointments. So that's quite apparent why I wouldn't continue on with them. And then there was your company who couldn't figure out the problem. FYI, it was not the thermostat as you assumed, which I can tell you with 100% certainty was installed correctly. It was a furnace issue which has now been corrected by a wonderful company. ______________________________________ (First Appt:) I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day I called for service. My AC went out and after 2 previous appointments with different companies didn't turn out well, Pozitive was great to work with. They have a reasonable service call fee and were polite and informative. I only gave 4 stars bc they were late for the appointment time we set but it's busy season and understandable.
My blower motor went out about 10 pm .I called Pozitive for after hour call. They where here within a few hours. Service call was $89.99 to tell me its my blower motor. I knew this I told them when I called its the motor. The tec was great and knew what he was doing. The problem I have is they took advantage of the situation because I had no heat and its 17° outside. The cost of the motor online is $110 When I paid my bill this morning they told me there service rate was $130 per hour. They changed me $650 for what should have cost $370 Tec was her for a little under 2 hours I called 3 other companies this morning and they all gave a price for after hours of $400 to $500 based on parts and drive time. So if you want a fast service call call them but be prepared to be ripped off Update after reading his response If you actually read my review you would have seen I STATED I called 3 different companies and asked for after hours pricing. I called Pozitive Heating and cooling. Jerry's Heating and cooling shows up to do the repair and I paid Best Comfort Heating and cooling... You have moved your location 3 times in the last year and now you operate under 3 different names . It appears something strange is going on with your company Not to mention I had a 1hp blower motor and you installed a 3/4 hp. When I asked Diane from Best Comfort to speak with you regarding this she said no she handles it she's the accountant
My experience was not good. It started with missing 2 appointments because "everyone gets heat". They rescheduled my tune up again from Tuesday to Friday and it did not go well from there. I left in the morning and in short I did not have heat when I came home at 5:45 from work. Several parts were replaced but it was 65 degrees in the house when I got home. I called, Tony responded about an hour later saying that it sounded like another part needed to be replaced. I asked when and he stated he had an install in the morning and could be at my house at 3 PM on Saturday. That did not make sense because I originally was rescheduled on Tuesday because they are 24/7 and "we make sure everyone has heat first". I woke up to a 55 degree house, called my father, found the part locally, and fixed it for 1/4 of the price quoted. I cancelled the appointment at around noon, Tony called about 3:15 saying he was on his way, I expressed it was fixed and asked if he wanted to understand my view of the customer experience, he just kept on saying I am glad you have heat, he was not concerned that we went almost 24 hours without heat. If Tony would have used some empathy and tried to understand the situation it would have gone a long way. When he talked past my concerns it truly bothered me. I hope this review helps future potential customers.
I am very disappointed in the service I received or should I say never received from this company. I contacted pozitive heating and cooling today around 10:00 am desperately in need of someone to come out and maintenance my a/c …. With the temperatures being in the upper 90s in Joliet I really was in need of someone to come out so I was elated when the receptionist informed me they could have a technician come out the same day. She gave me a window from 12:00 to 2:00pm Of course 2:00pmcame and no technician was here. I called to inquire if the technician was in the area and just to get a general timeframe of when they might be coming out and the receptionist advised that the technicians were running behind and she would call dispatch and contact me back to advise what time they would be coming. Of course no phone call back … it is now 4:00 and no call back or update. I called back and as I was introducing myself the receptionist hung up on me. I was shocked and called back and of course no answer. No one ever came out nor gave me a courtesy call on why they couldn’t. This is bad customer service at its finest…. I understand everyone is busy but great customer goes a long way. I am very disappointed in th service I received.
I called on a Sunday and was told $125 service fee and I said ok. My AC unit was dirty and he said this visit was min $$275 even if he didn't clean it. He used a garden hose to spray it off and I said I can do that for $150 but he said it would void my warranty. Even said he'll walk away and will just do that $125 but I said oh then you're going to void my warranty if I spray hose on and he said yes. I had them out a month ago and cleaned my furnace and never even bothered to check the AC unit even though they were the ones that installed it two years ago. He said he told me on the phone there would be another $150 charge but he absolutely did not tell me that or I would not have had them out. Used to trust this company but absolutely do not anymore and will tell everyone not to use them very dishonest. Oh I just changed my filter April 10 so it was only a month old! The real problem is not being honest in advance that even if you didn't fix anything it was going to cost $275.
An absolute nightmare! Completely unprofessional!! Had them come out to a rental property to fix our furnace. After replacing several parts, the service tech finally decided we needed a new board. After allegedly fixing the issue, our neighbor called us saying that our AC was running in the middle of winter. My wife initially called back to let them know the issue wasn't fixed, to which the service tech replied "what do you want me to do about it!?" I then attempted to contact the owner of the company who's son took a message. I then proceeded to get a return call back from the service tech, who was annoyed at the fact that I had the audacity to question the hefty bill for work that was still not fixed! I am now having another company come out to fix their mistakes! Complete rip off, unprofessional, and bar far the worst customer service experience I have ever had! The fact that they were rude due to their own incompetence absolutely astounds me!
5 STARS, 5 STARS, 5 STARS!!! My AC broke down on a hot muggy Friday late in the afternoon. I was planning on having to suffer all weekend after calling a few places and hearing people wanted $184 for the first 15 minutes just for a service call. I decided to call one more place and found Pozitive Heating and Cooling. Even thogh it was almost 5 on a Friday he said he could be right out and only $49 for a service call, can't beat that. He found the problem with my air conditioner right away and fixed it for a reasonable price. Tony was super friendly guy chatted with him while he was repairing the AC. So hard to find a reasonably priced, honest, family owned business these days. I plan on having him do all the work on my rental property as well if needed. Can't tell you how happy I found Pozitive instead of going with one of the mega hvac companies who charge insane fees and overtime. Can't recommend him highly enough.
Remember the bone-chilling November we experienced? According to the National Weather Service, Chicago tied the record for longest stretch of subfreezing daily high temperatures, with seven days, for the month of November and set a record for consecutive hours below freezing for November with 180 hours. Well, our boiler decided this subfreezing time was a good time to take a shit. And, because we have a boiler system, our hot water went with it. Out of necessity we called Pozitive. Tony and his team came out with a very fair estimate to replace our boiler system with a traditional heat and air conditioning system. We had a working furnace and hot water within just days of our initial call. These guys were professional courteous and a pleasure to deal with. In our time of desparation they could have named a price but they were fair and accomodating. I highly recommend Tony and his team.
Homeowners beware. This company doesn't communicate the price that you're going to be charged until you are to pay. We were told one price and then when we were filling out the check the price went up. Never once was the additional charge ever brought up to us. I called the company the next day to dispute the charges and I was hardly able to get my side of the story in to the office manager who was constantly talking over me and in my opinion rude. I was told by the office manager that the owner would be calling me to talk to me about my bad service experience. I have yet to receive a call. It has been a full week. My wife and I were trying to get our a/c fixed and we were going to use this company but after the extra charge and the customer service we went with another company and saved a lot of money.
