My Local Plumber Water Heater Repairs and Leak Detection

I have and will always use My Local Plumber. 2 broken outside faucets from the ice storm. Pipes leaking in wall. I tried to fix it myself. Not a chance. Zac Cassel fixed it like a champ! You get live updates on the drivers arrival time, you get great pricing, and you get great service. What more can I ask for?

I called My Local Plumber for help with determining a leak detection within my home. Their plumbers quickly came over and found the leak! They were friendly and knowledgeable! The office staff were also very helpful and attentive. Thanks for helping me in my time of need! I'm so glad I found their service! I highly recommend for leak detection! So great, I had a big clog in our main drainage line on the Saturday of this latest snow storm in Dallas and they were able to send out Zach and Marco to help me on a day where hardly anybody could get out and around town. They quickly resolved the issue which allowed me to drip my faucets and potentially save me from disaster! Zach and Marco were very knowledgeable and very kind. Much appreciated guys!

I had turned off my water heater and while trying to turn it back on, the ignitor did not generate the spark and so pilot lamp could not be turned on. Technician provided me the following options. 1. Replace the thermocouple module 2. Replace the gas valve module 3. Replace the combination of both While I kept reasoning out with them that all was working fine until I turned off the gas water heator, and now the ignitor is not generating the spark to start off the pilot lamp, why are you not replacing the ignitor, the technicians kept pushing to replace all the working parts, there was no rational thinking or triaging of the problem. When asked can you not replace the ignitor, their experts who I met in person and the expert I talked over the call, kept arguing that from their experience when this happens most of the time the problem is with the gas valve. So if the gas value does not fix it, you replace the thermocouple and if that does not work, you go for a new water heater. I sincerely feel they were pushing me for a high cost work with no ethics or may be they are not seriously qualified. As a customer, with lack of knoweledge on where to get such replacement parts, it was difficult, had to stay with no hot water for about 2 days. After researching found out that the places where you can secure parts (not easily available at Home Depot or Lowes for immediate instore purchase), landed buying the part from moore supply @ Denton the same day, replaced the ignitor (15$), took 30 seconds to swap it out and my gas water heater is working like a charm now. Questionable practices: (a) Pushing customers to replace working parts. (b) Lack of ethics when it comes to providing right guidance. This was my first experience of dealing with an water heator issue, and I was really looking for a good trustworthy plumbing company, very disappointed with this experience, hoping for a better experience next time around !

Update on shower valve repair: a week later and I discovered the plate they put on in front of the shower valve was leaking inside my walls. What a disaster. Really depends on which plumber you get. Had a couple of good experiences with them but then I guess they were trying to recoup money they could’ve got from me on earlier jobs. Unfortunately, will be looking elsewhere in the future. Very disappointed.

Updated with new service provide provided: I have used my local plumber now for over a decade and even this Saturday night when I had a broken pipe leak upstairs occur they were there when I needed them. Denise and Alma have been consistently incredible and kind in every interaction I’ve ever had with them. Kevin, the plumber technician was awesome, Got here quickly, And did a quick fix. The pricing was absolutely fair and even gave me a couple tips as I am a DIY personality type for the future. The folks are so kind and you don’t feel like you’re taking advantage of you. I can’t speak enough of them. This time it was an upstairs leak, They’ve helped with a toilet, Backup of sewer and drain due to roots, And a foundation water heater leak. I’ve never had a more positive experience with plumbers. Thank you, Kevin and crew!! **My Local Plumber is excellent. I had a pipe in foundation leak and they were able to provide options and both Eddie and his helper were very knowledgeable. They also provided me some advice on some other issues I was having with the sinks. Finally the office manager Denise and the staff Veronica were incredibly nice. I have been using them now for about five years and they have consistently delivered from routing gas lines to installing a toilet. They are located in Carrollton and are local family owned business that’s been around for about 20+ years in talking with them. They have build trust with me and my family and I strongly recommend them.

Updated to continue my praise! We had a broken pipe happen on the Saturday before NYE and they were able to come first thing the next day. They were accommodating and patient as I went through getting a second opinion. I continued with My Local Plumber and they were very transparent with the schedule and worked with the excavation team on timing. Alma in the front office was great with communication with my quote and scheduling. Gina, the manager, was very friendly and accommodating to any concerns. Ish and RJ were my plumbers - great communicators - very polite and translated to language I understood. THANN YOU AGAIN. LOVE this plumber. They are extremely customer focused. I had a leak that was in between the wall of my two brand new showers that had just been put in. One plumber quoted out the project and said we’d have to go through the tile. I called My Local Plumber who services my neighborhood often (Country Place) and they REALLY didn’t want to have to go through my tile and looked for other options. The hole under the showers was small in the garage and the plumber was able to fix it through there. He got some scrapes on his arms doing so. HUGE thank you for taking into consideration the damages I would have had to repair by going through the tile, although it would have made your job easier.

We were removing a tree 5' from the gas line to the home we understood we would probably hit the gas line, which we did since it was inside of the tree roots and only 12" in the ground. Zac and his team came out and assessed the situation and let us know what need to be done for excavation for a for excavation for a new gas line to the home. They came back out and had a temporary line put in before nightfall. They came back on Friday and put in a completely to the home and to the pool heater and Pressure tested the whole house to make sure there were no other problems for our customer in the future. They are very professional punctual and take care of the people they work with.

I called MLP at the recommendation of a family friend to help with a slow draining sewer line. MLP responded very quickly. Our technician, Jarrod, and his assistant, Kevin, were mature and knowledgeable beyond their years. They soon cleared the line and identified the underlying issue — a cracked pipe invaded by crepe myrtle roots. We scheduled another appointment and, while not inexpensive, we were very pleased with their work. The timeliness and professionalism of MLP’s office staff and the technicians are top notch. While we certainly hope we have no further problems, we’d definitely use MLP again if the need should arise.

My husband and I had a fabulous experience with My Local Plumber. We needed a toilet replacement and were serviced by Jarrod. His commitment to customer service and professionalism were unmatched. Jarrod went above and beyond to complete are needed repair, as the replacement toilet that we purchased(brand new) was missing pieces. Jarrod returned the incomplete toilet on our behalf and installed the replacement as needed. We were truly appreciative of this kind gesture. We will be using My Local Plumber for any future plumbing needs going forward. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of a plumber.

Had a gas leak late Saturday night. Called My Local Plumber and they were out at my house early Sunday morning. They were able to identify the problems in my gas system (which were extensive) and fixed it in a timely manner. This included pulling local permits and contacting our gas provider. On top of this, their customer service was excellent. I was notified when the plumber was on the way so I could expect them as well as updates throughout the multi-day work process. Zac, the main plumber, was a wealth of knowledge and answered all of my questions in a considerate and personal manner. 10/10

As always, My Local Plumber went above and beyond in their service. They are experienced, respectful and resourceful in solving problems with our older home. We've had extensive work by them on several projects and they've always responded to questions patiently and explained completely. They offer options on what needs to be done immediately and what looks like can wait but will need to be done in the future and leave the decision up to us. The gals in the office are top-rate, kind and efficient. I can't say enough good things about this company. I wish there were more like them.

We recently had our drainage pipes cleaned to improve water flow and prevent any buildup issues around the home. The service was completed quickly and efficiently, with the team clearing out debris and ensuring everything was properly flushed and functioning as it should. Before the cleaning, we occasionally noticed slower drainage and water not moving away as effectively as expected. Now, the system works much more reliably, and water flows properly away from the home again, helping maintain better drainage and reducing any concerns about pooling or backup.
