I was completely satisfied with the entire service! The receptionist who answered the phone was kind and helpful. She listened to everything I said and explained every part of their company procedures to me. I was told up front how much the diagnostic fee was and an estimate of how much it would cost to get the job done that I needed. They have standard 4 hour windows of time when they can show up, but they call you 30 mins before they head your way. The workers were nice, respectful, and easy to talk to. They wore boot covers every time they came inside and cleaned up well after the job. They walked me through each problem they found and how they were going to fix it. I was given the choice to opt out of any repair they wanted to do, and told I could choose to do any of it myself if I wanted. They even offered to add a new access panel to the shower pipes to make future work easier. The invoice was shown to me before they even started the job and each line item was explained and priced. The bill was a lot but I had 4 different things done so it wasn't unreasonable. They worked fast and efficiently and it all looked nice by the end too; no sloppy caulking or uneven cutting. Will definitely be my go-to plumbing service in the future!

Thank you for making a bad situation better. Thank you for installing a proper sump pump and fixing the make shift one a local contractor did and wouldn’t fix. Had a new Tankless Water Heater installed. Included running new gas lines & water lines. The process was seamless from start to finish. Harold was great doing the initial evaluation & quote (which was very competitive) & explained everything involved. Once I called & told Mullens to proceed, they showed up in 2 days ready to go. The Tech Reps were very good & kept us informed throughout the project. Very satisfied with the entire process with Mullen & would recommend them to anyone planning a plumbing project.

They have the worst service that I ever had from a Heating & Cooling Business and they charged me over $200 for doing 2 minutes worth of service

UPDATE: An independent AC technician came and fixed the unit. Replaced a $40 burnt out wire and she's magically running again! Darnold & Lyons wanted me to pay $10,000 to replace the entire unit over a $40 wire... Original Review: They were only interested in selling me a new unit, not repairing my old one. I have an "elderly" heat pump that they say needs a compressor. I intend to replace this heatpump within two years but CANNOT do it now so I asked them to repair the unit. They refused because "Trane no longer makes the compressor for that unit and we won't install a generic one." Not, "we can't install" but we won't install. When I told them that I absolutely could not afford to replace the unit at this time, they still refused to work on it with "liability" as the excuse. So I will find someone who will install an aftermarket compressor and then pay THEM the $$$$ when I replace the unit in two years.

We called Mullen plumbing prior to 9 AM this morning to get on their schedule to fix a leaky toilet and when they arrived, we ask for them to change the valves on some supply lines in the bathroom. Both of the plumbers said oh sure no problem. None of this will take very long which I was aware of. They came back from their van with an incredibly outrageous quote over $1000 to reseat a toilet and to lower three supply lines which required no new valves, just lowering the copper supply line. To just to do the toilet they quoted a price of over $700 all that on top of their 83.53 callout charge. I feel sorry for people who don’t know how to do anything themselves because these prices are outrageous and unwarranted and I will no longer be calling Mullen, plumbing for anything not the home not the apartment building. They had done work for us before and then perfectly reasonable. Their employees are great, but this new pricing protocol they have is ridiculous. We paid the callout fee and sent them on their way.

2026 Update: We have had a furnace failure after decades. An employee named Brenya Beverly called (within 3 hours on a Friday night) before he showed up. He disassembled the old clunker and took pictures & a video of all the problems. Let’s just say the furnace is not only merely dead, it’s really most sincerely dead. He fixed up a READABLE cost estimate list of what’s wrong with the furnace. This young man’s first job must have been Chick-fil-A and/or he was raised in a church and/or he has decent family. Someone made an exceptional hiring decision. We are getting estimates for a new furnace. 2024: We had a plumbing emergency. A real person answered the phone and was very helpful. The plumbers showed up in less than 2 hours and fixed the issue. They were excellent!

Mullen’s Plumbing job for frozen/busted water line in wall of primary bathroom: The very best service. Quick to respond, perfection of service, excellent recommendations to eliminate further damage from frozen water lines. Very courteous and friendly, cleaned up after themselves and left our home with the offer to stay and provide further additional assistance as two more water lines had frozen. I appreciate these fine examples of going above and beyond to remedy our immediate concern. I will be using Mullen’s again.

The great service with a Mullen began with the scheduling of the appointment. Very professional, helpful and courteous admin staff. The service personnel were no different. We had toilet snd bathtub issues with this appointment and the Mullen team was able to correct both very quickly and affordably. I also appreciated the knowledge share regarding the underlying problem and repairs. It’s comfortable to know that a trusted team like Mullen is ready on standby for any future needs. Thanks guys.

Mullen Plumbing and Heating has been a godsend for our family. They are prompt and provide excellent customer service. We have utilized both their plumbing and heating services and consider them as thee experts in these arenas. We recently had a rattling noise that was causing us alarm. One of the Mullen managers came to our home and took the time to diagnose and fix the problem. Mullen staff have been cordial and patient in resolving our plumbing and heating issues.

I have used Darnold & Lyons for more than 20 years for my HVAC needs. I have three systems for my home, and they service them twice a year to keep them in good condition. I have had both warranty and off warranty repairs, and replaced one unit entirely in 2022. The technicians are always knowledgeable, prompt, and thorough. The office staff also work with me to schedule regular maintenance and unexpected service calls. I highly recommend Darnold & Lyons.

I have been using Mullen since I arrived in Charleston, and they have always been professional and quick, and well worth the higher costs. Today, another team came by to fix a leak, and they were great (Mason/Crane) and Mason, the team lead, remembered being here 2 years ago when he was a team member. Today, being the team lead, he noticed some not-so-well-done work previously done by Mullen, and corrected that. Mullen Plumbing, be sure you keep Mason!

Had a water leak on my mainline; They did an estimate of 3,750 if they had to tear a part of the concrete on my driveway. Luckily, the leak was just the piece that connects to the mainline. They replace it. It was a 3 and a half hour job and they still charged me 3,750.00 just to dig the hole and replace a bathroom faucet. The guys they sent did an excellent job but they for sure overcharged me. It's sad but I don't think I can recommend this company.

All the staff I have interacted with in person and on the phone have been knowledgeable and polite. Scheduling services was fast and easy, with technicians available next day to replace my central air system. Exploring financing options was quick, easy, painless. They were respectful of keeping the doors closed so my escape artist cat wouldn’t sneak out for an adventure. Highly recommend Mullens.

The technician was knowledgeable & friendly, he was also patient with me & answered my questions. My issue wasn’t straightforward & involved a broken wire between the inside & outside unit. The tech was able to troubleshoot & repair the issue as well as make sure my coolant levels were good to go in under 2 hours. I’m very happy with the service & will recommend Mullen for repair services.
