Jerry Hearn provided the best service and experience. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and was very diligent in his investigating of the issue. He found and fixed the repair quickly. We highly recommend Lion Home Services and Jerry is your guy. Thank you
I recently had maintenance work done at my home that involved plumbing (Jerry), electrical(Kyle), and HVAC(Jeff) services, and I couldn't be more impressed. Each technician was highly skilled and professional, addressing the issues efficiently and effectively. They arrived on time, were respectful of my property, and clearly communicated the work they were performing. The quality of their work was outstanding, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my home's systems. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable and expert home maintenance.
Dagan and Maddix from Lion Home Service did an amazing job cleaning our ducts! From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and extremely thorough. They took the time to explain the entire duct cleaning process, including inspecting the system, cleaning all supply and return vents, using powerful vacuum equipment to remove built-up dust and debris, and brushing out the ductwork to make sure everything was completely cleared. They were very respectful of our home, carefully protecting floors and surrounding areas while they worked, and they left everything spotless when they were finished. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. We’ve already noticed a difference and feel much better knowing our system is clean. Highly recommend Lion Home Service and especially Dagan and Maddix for anyone needing professional duct cleaning!
I had asked your office to send your your man out with a tall ladder cause I have a 11 foot six ceiling and I need a couple lights, new bulbs and Bella and them which I had which I told your office and he should have a no ladder at all and I had a 10 foot and a 7 foot he picked up the 7 foot complained about it all the time and I told her he would not use the 10 foot because he said he he can’t so he couldn’t reach the ceiling. He said he couldn’t work on it. He said he had to have new fixtures because these are older than used. They’re not older than you. They’re very, very new but way newer than my home said he couldn’t use the bulb even though they’re still in the cage never been used never out of a brand new cage he couldn’t use the ballast because they were still in the box. He didn’t buy them and he couldn’t give up on the ladder cause he didn’t have enough ladder and everything. He said he couldn’t do. It was not a thing that he said he could do so I sent him home. I had an employee like that. It would never put a day in. I was a commercial general contractor with the highest license you can get for 31 years built some major project around Colorado had a lot of good years 31 years of a good solid contracting business. I had it up to 125 employees if I had one show up like that it would not must be a single day. I hope you enjoy supporting him because he has not announced that to your company.
I realize it's New Year's Eve, but I guess "24/7" doesn't apply. Called in this morning as our refrigerator circuit tripped and would not stay on. They said their dispatcher would get back to me. After over 2 hours they called and said they would be out. Then I get a text saying they don't work on "appliances". I said it's NOT the appliance, it's the circuit breaker. Then they said they don't have an electrician available. I quote from Weld County Homeowner referral booklet: "We specialize in prompt service, quality fixes, and reliable response that you can trust." DON'T TRUST THEM!
Oh. My. God. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional business in my life! I called them, wanting Benjamin Franklin, and learned they'd been bought by Lion. I should have called someone else, but I've worked with Benjamin Franklin in the past and they've been wonderful. NOPE! We had them out in January to replace a broken water heater. I have no knowledge of this business, what prices are correct, correct plumbing techniques, and they took advantage of that. I tried to do my due diligence but we needed hot water and I was desperate. The first guy gave me a quote for $3500 for a new water heater and expansion tank, new plumbing, warranty, and prime membership (still not clear on what that includes). I was hesitant on the price but was pushed to buy the warranty and "membership" and for the price I'm paying I'm "going to be taken care of"...... I should have done more research and it's my fault for being taken advantage of, but anyways, I bought everything for $3500. The next day, two guys came over to install the water heater. I had been told by the first guy that the old copper pipes would be replaced and rearranged. The installers said the pipes didn't need to be replaced and they didn't touch them. Again, I'm dumb. And again, was taken advantage of. So, they just installed the new water heater and hung up the expansion tank. Alright so, a couple months go by and a master plumber is in our house working on a bathroom remodel. He sees the water heater and asks what moron installed this? He begins to point out ALL the problems. The water heater was not level, the water valve needed to be replaced, some of the copper pipes were resting on other pipes, they were also holding up way too much weight, creating stresses, the expansion tank was installed at an angle, it was also supported by a metal strap and touched the copper pipes. He asked what I paid, I told him, thought he was going to have an aneurysm, and he told me to call them back and make someone come out and install it properly. Thank God for him! So I called and had them come out a week later.... They sent an apprentice drain specialist. The poor guy should have come in, seen all the problems and said he wasn't right for the job and get someone else out here. We would have appreciated that SO much more than what he actually did. We told him all the problems, with our new master plumber friend there to help explain, and this guy just shrugged, eehhh, this is fine....he proceeded to spend 7 HOURS at our house and the ONLY thing he did was put a new valve on. VERY POORLY might I add. The longer he spent at our house the more he got frustrated because we were telling him what to do and he WASN'T LISTENING! So we didn't sign his service complete form and he STORMED out of the house and HIT MY HUSBAND WITH OUR DOOR TRYING TO SLAM IT SHUT WHICH I SHOULD PRESS CHARGES FOR!! His name is Ben Clayton by the way. We then immediately called Lion because he didn't turn our water back on or our water heater so we wanted someone to come out and make sure the valve was installed properly, there wasn't anything broken. Ben apparently had told his supervisor that he didn't feel safe in our house because we were yelling at him? Sorry sir, no we were trying to get you to listen and install it properly to which you said, oh I can't reach that, that's gonna be tough, and I don't have enough copper pipes to replace all that (which meant, no I'm not going out to buy pipes....which should have been replaced the first time someone installed this). SO the dispatch told us that they weren't going to send him back out because they didn't feel it was safe. Which we said, that's fine, we were treated horribly by this man we would love someone else to come out. THEN in the background of the phone call we heard someone say "hell no, were not sending anyone out there" to which my husband admittedly lost it and started yelling at them telling them how unprofessional they are. So I had to take over and calm everyone down so someone could just come out to look at our plumbing to make sure it was ok. So they agreed to send someone over and when he arrived he too was blown away by the terrible installation job that had been previously done. He also agreed that Ben should have stepped out and had someone else come in. ALSO he said that new valve should have been replaced with what I bought in the first place. He also agreed that for the money I paid, it looked terrible! He made an appointment for us with someone he trusted who was actually a licensed plumber, not an apprentice, with Lion and he came out the next week and made it look beautiful. He did everything that should have been done in the first place and also installed a new water shut off valve. He was in and out in 2 hours. Anyways, I was ripped off, taken advantage of, and treated horribly. With everything they did I could take them to a small claims court and win, but I don't want to deal with this company EVER AGAIN!!
In July 2019 I lost power to a section of my house. Lion Home Service was contacted. A technician arrived and began his inspection. A full house rewire would be needed. He prepared a quote and told us about some of the other services they offered; we agreed to install both a whole house fan and a fan in the bathroom and to sign up for their 1 year TCC. The work took two weeks to complete. Our team was 2 people. They worked inconsistent hours. The only time there were any other technicians present was midway through the second week for around an hour or so. At the end of the second week they "finished" the work, but not everything we had asked for. They offered to install two outside outlets for us, and to cut a channel into a wall to house wiring for the TV. We asked that they not do these things. We discovered that they pulled the wiring to the garage but did not replace it. We asked that they simply leave because we were exhausted and just wanted our house back. I thought the service, at the time, was satisfactory. On December 19th, 2019 I arrived home to find an orange tag on my front door from the city. It read "NO PERMIT FOR ELECTRIC WORK! Took pictures - tampering with City property. Police Report will be filed. No permit for electric work performed." I contacted the city: no permit had ever been filed. The new breaker box was pulling more power than the meter could safely handle. The new line drop was illegal and can only be installed with city personnel present. Opening the meter housing was illegal without city personnel present. None of these things were done correctly by Lion Home Service. The city felt the current situation was unsafe and were it not the middle of winter they would have requested we cut power to the house until the work was completed. This was the first time I heard a city employee use the phrase "You're lucky your house hasn't burned down". The permit was pulled in late January and allowed to lapse. The paperwork would only be finalized by the city the first week of February. The day of the city inspection the line foreman, the safety inspector, and a building inspector for the city arrived at 10:30. The inspection uncovered several problems: The breaker box was installed upside down, the line in from the meter into my house was open and uncovered, an outlet in the kitchen had not been replaced, the wiring to the garbage disposal was not anchored correctly, an outlet in the living room was running directly off the ground and was deemed unsafe (again I heard the phrase "You're lucky your house hasn't burned down"), the wiring through the linen closet was not installed correctly (again, "you're lucky your house hasn't burned down"), the wiring in the attic had not been anchored properly and was just hanging loose, the wiring in the crawl space was not anchored properly and was just hanging loosely, the clothes dryer vent was not attached and was just blowing hot, wet lint directly onto the furnace ("you're lucky your house hasn't burned down"), and the wiring to the garage had been pulled but not replaced. Lion Home Service did not arrive until 11:00. The technician's attitudes were glib; they seemed to not take this seriously. They told me they would get the permit pulled right away and that the work would be fixed "very soon". Speaking with Lion Home Service is an exercise in frustration. I rarely get to speak with the same person more than once, and no one ever seems to know what exactly is going on. Some employees seem to take things seriously, the rest are just rude and difficult to speak with. I have been made to feel like I am the offending party for simply wanting the work to be done and done right. No one at Lion Home Service seems to care about making this right. I am so tired. I am so tired of dealing with this. I just want it to be done, and I never want to hear the name Lion Home Service again.
PLEASE BEWARE - I wish I would've taken the time to check reviews of this company first, but when you're in a situation of not having a working toilet, and they are on-site already, you tend to have to take their word. I hope this helps others steer clear of this company. Look at all the reviews (BBB, Yelp, etc.) and they are all very similar to my experience; overpriced, lazy work, etc. I am a small business owner as well and made an attempt to call the office and ask for a manager to call me, to give them a chance to explain and/or correct, but still have not received a call a week and a half later. I will be very fair and factual in the details and let you decide if it's the kind of company you want to do business with and happy to update the review if I am contacted by the company for a resolution. Service Date: 3/9/21 Issue: Toilet clogged/not flushing Summary: We had a bathroom with a toilet that wasn't flushing. Company came and attempted to pull toilet and plunge = $29 dispatch fee + $276 for the attempt. No resolution. Next - tried to snake/cable down the pipe = $398. No resolution. Next - used camera and found spot outside where pipe was blocked and was going to require digging up the pipe to determine blockage. This is where things get very expensive. They charged $4,979 do dig this one spot up. It was an all dirt area, no more than 3 feet deep, and a basic PVC pipe (septic system). In full transparency, they did quote me the amount prior to me agreeing to proceed, but as I mentioned above, when they have the people and equipment there already and it's an urgent situation, it's hard to send them home for time to get other quotes. I agreed to move forward at this point. Still not a full resolution. Next - After digging up this one spot they determined there was an additional 5 feet of pipe that was crushed. Unsure when this happened, but would require fixing as well. They quoted an additional $2,768 to repair. Again, an extremely basic dig of less than 3 feet deep, basic PVC pipe, and all dirt with no landscaping, building, concrete, etc. to dig around. After already spending over $5,000 to get to this point, and it already partially dug, I decided to let them continue to just get it done. This finally resolved our issue. The next day I contacted three other long-time reputable companies in the area and asked for a quote of this exact dig/repair. The lowest was $3,000 and the highest was $3,800. All FAR below the nearly $8,000 I paid for just an afternoon of work!! I was blown away at how much I was ripped off. Never being through this type of work before, and in the situation we were in without a working bathroom, I didn't even know a general range of these services; I wish I would've. After getting these other quotes I did ask for a manager to call me to review the charges and ensure they were correct and accurate, but have not received a call yet (week and a half later). I know they are going to point to the fact that they quote and get acceptance of charges prior to doing work, which is correct, but evaluating other quotes it's hard to believe they are truly 2X the price of their competition and I still think there had to be an error. I'm all for paying small premiums for better work, but no one should be paying prices like this for such basic services. I'm attaching pictures of the area to show that it was in fact a very short run of pipe, very very basic digging in a dirt area, and even very lazy and sloppy on the backfill/smoothing out to get it back to normal.
UPDATED REVIEW 5/21/26: Since Lion Home Service addressed my complaint below to my satisfaction, I felt it was only fair to amend my review to a 5 star. Kayla Fowler called and said the GM felt that a refund of half the fee was fair. I concur and appreciate their resolution. In the past they have consistently earned a 5 star rating. They are once again have earned that rating and I highly recommend their services to anyone. Sheree Original review:They have great technicians. As a company, I feel they ripped me off on the last service (air conditioner)by charging an absolutely ridiculous price. I am no longer a happy customer and would not recommend them. I scheduled an AC service which is at no charge since I pay an annual membership fee. Mind you in the last ~18 mos they replaced a furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater. A sizeable investment for sure. I had previously used Poudre Valley Air for many years for all my HVAC needs until they sold their residential division to Lion. Here's why I'm not a happy camper. After the tech tested AC inside, he went outside to the unit. Looking at one side via a flashlight he told me there was build up of cotton from a cottonwood tree. He said hosing without removing panels could plug the screens up. I was notified that the inspection does not include taking the unit apart to clean. Removing the top grill was included in the service. He told me it was $500 but because I was a member it would only be $360! I have never paid separately to take unit apart and clean, it has always been part of the reasonable standard service fee. No where close to their fee. I went ahead and agreed after voicing my displeasure to the tech. It took him literally 50 minutes less than 1 hour of labor to remove the 4 panels with as I recall 32 bolts (8 sets of 4), hose each exposed panel and to reassemble. I'm not aware of any trade that charges $360 an hour! As a senior citizen with physical limitations, I have to rely upon service companies. I could understand if it took 2-3 hours which I have been told some brands are time consuming to reassemble. Clearly, mine was a breeze. I could understand quoting prices on a sliding scale based on time. I feel like I was taken advantage of and overcharged. I did call the company and complained- I was told a Manager would return my call. Finally, after 3 days someone did call me back, I was not impressed. To add insult to injury the tech who did the AC service dropped one of the bolts in the top grill and commented its a good thing I have extra screws. I figured he would remove the bolt so I made no comment. Sure enough the next time the AC fan came on you could hear what sounded like the bolt flying around. Sure enough, that is exactly what it was. The Manager I spoke with asked if I wanted the tech to come back out! Absolutely not, he's the one who caused the issue. They had Jeff come out and remove the bolt. He's my favorite tech, very thorough, knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. I can't imagine you wouldn't be upset and unhappy with the outrageous price they charged. Buyer beware.
if you want to be PRICE GOUGED, CALL LION HOME SERVICE!!! I regret not reading previously posted reviews of this company. Consequently, I have paid a heavy price for it. I shall summarize my encounter with this company as follows: On October 21, 2021 the company's repair representative, Anthony arrived to fix my non functioning furnace. After spending less than 40 minutes in my home of which almost half included an unsolicited and unwanted sales pitch for a maintenance service contract, Anthony presented me with a bill. This bill was on his hand held computer device, totaling $711.00. I paid the bill in full by personal check. This bill was included $29.00 and $99.00 representing a dispatch fee and a diagnosis fee (which paid for up to 1 hour of service), respectively, and $583.00 for a Dual Pressure switch (Honeywell HK06NB020). Later in the day, the small size of pressure switch raised questions in my mind as to its cost. It was half the size of an automobile generator. So I got its part number and priced it on the internet. I retrieved quotes from the first four vendors: $53.95, $53.82, $57.85 and $54.74 From Ebay, Supply House, Amazon, and Technical Hot and Cold Parts, respectively. Thus, it turned out that Anthony charged me 10 times the highest price available from these common sources. One definition of price gouging is when a seller asks excessively more than other vendors. This is how I arrived at the conclusion of being gouged by Lion Home Service.. I called Lion Home Service on Monday 10/25/21 and asked to talk to the owner in an attempt to resolve this gouging issue. I spoke to Alexander who informed me that the owner was not in and requested that I convey my complaint through him. I did so and requested and was told that a return call will be forth coming in a day or so. I have not received any return calls by to date 10/29/21. To those who are interested, the Covid motivated updated new Colorado Consumer Protection Act states that it is a violation to "either knowingly or recklessly engage in any unfair, unconscionable, deceptive, deliberately misleading, false or fraudulent act or practices". This law has raised the penalty from $2,000 to $20,000 per violation to $10,000 to $50,000 per violation if committed against an elderly person. Reporting abuses to the Attorney General's office can be done through stopfraudcolorado.gov website. Also, Colorado Bill HB20-1414 deals with price gouging amid disaster. It prohibits sellers to charge excessive prices during an emergency. One could file a complaint via "https://coag.gov/file-complaint".
THE ONLY way to be seen/listened to by the owner is to leave online REVIEWS!!! That is, if it's actually the owner. It must be a bot because all I see are generic cut and paste responses. There is NO SUCH THING as a 100% client satisfaction guarantee so please program the bot to omit this response. If this was the case, why are there negative reviews? If you feel like you provide 100% satisfaction, then you feel no need for growth and learning. Where do these numbers even come from, did you make them up? Do you only search for positive things people say and avoid all criticism? Our family is at a loss financially; the quality of services did not reflect the value of what this company provided. we paid TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars, UP FRONT, was sold the whole bells and whistles, only to be treated this way (by the company overall) Since May, we hired Lion Service for a large variety of repairs and maintenance needed. It was very strange... after the crew did work on our home, despite many other things needed, we were GHOSTED. However, for some reason we have still been waiting around for months and months to finish the jobs, which there has been no solid timeline, people have not shown up when they were supposed to...What is the hold up? Seriously. I'm done being patient, this is not just about the money but the way I feel, which is disrespected. 5 MONTHS of me trying to get ahold of someone, a manager, a higher up.... I can't tell you how many distressed phone calls I have made to your business. There has been no follow up from the "project manager", it's like the crew came out for 2 days then ghosted us, taking their $$$$$ The communication was horrible or non-existent. I was promised many times that someone from the company would call me back after expressing my concerns, but the only ones who ever did were James and Joe the electricians. THEY showed up when they were supposed to and were of more help to me than any actual "manager" I initially gave a 5 star review but most if not all of my previous statements didn't reflect the reality. I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 because, despite everything, there have been several individuals who did an outstanding job and were true professionals. I suggest removing the tag line of 100% satisfaction, start paying really close attention to reality and overhaul your entire marketing strategy. Advice: STEER CLEAR.
We will not now, or ever again, use their services. On Monday, January 7, Jacob Smyth came to our house to investigate the cause of a water leak in our basement. He informed us that we had issues with our sewer line and convinced us that there was major work that needed to be done to remedy the issues. We put $14,000 on a credit card to pay for half of the work. The next day, we contacted the city of Longmont. In October, they had videotaped our sewer line, tap, and saddle. They saw no, I repeat, no issues with it. We then hired two independent sewer line companies to inspect our building drain and the sewer line. Neither company saw any issues with the system. I repeat, no issues. We personally watched the cameras as they inspected the line. We ran water through the line, assured that the camera was at the correct location to view the tap and the saddle and there were NO issues. We have written reports stating that there are no issues. Jacob had not even marked the spot correctly where the tap is and had the depth wrong as well. He told us that the city would not take care of any issues with the tap. That is false. I have spoken to the city numerous times since the 7th. Jacob sent us an invoice totaling $35,000 dollars to repair something that has no need of repair. This is fraudulent practice and quite frankly, unconscionable. We trusted him, even fed him some dinner, only to find out that we were being totally scammed. On January 8, I texted him to do nothing until he heard from me, but on January 9th, he went to the city to pull a permit for a sewer line. I have contacted the city and have withdrawn that permit and any others he may have pulled. I understand that he paid $274.75 for this. I also know that he can get a refund for that amount. We had a reputable plumber come and he fixed the source of the leak, which was simply a pipe that was behind the cabinet that had become defective. We were also told that the interior pipe that ran from the sink was not at a proper slope. That is false, as well. Lies, lies, and more lies. We had trusted this company before this attempted scam. That, of course, is no longer the case, and we will never, ever use this company again. Now, we will never know what other scams were perpetrated on us.
UPDATE on May 11, 2026: We had a shower drain that was clogged. Because we had such a great experience with Lion Home Service last month, we called them again to inspect the shower drain. (See my review below.) As usual, they were able to get someone out right away, and they kept us updated as to the technician's arrival time. Kaden was our drain technician. He immediately diagnosed the problem and was able to repair it quickly. When he was finished, he thoroughly explained the issue and the steps he took to fix it. He was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and respectful, and answered all of our questions. The repair cost was very fair. I would highly recommend Kaden at Lion Home Service to handle any drain repairs/issues. ******** If you are looking for a trustworthy, experienced and knowledgeable plumber, I highly recommend Lion Home Service. I called them on a Sunday afternoon and was able to schedule a service the next day through their very efficient AI answering service. I immediately received a text message confirming my appointment. The next day I received a text message with a photo of my technician, Taylor, and his estimated time of arrival. He was right on time. He was friendly, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable and honest. There were some unexpected challenges to the job and Taylor handled them wonderfully. He kindly answered all of my questions, and thoroughly explained everything he did. Taylor went above and beyond, and possessed an amazing work ethic. He even identified a small leak that was coming out of our boiler. He advised me to contact Lion’s boiler specialist, Matt, to diagnose it. Matt arrived within a couple of hours and was able to fix the leak. Matt was also very professional, knowledgeable and honest. I felt that their prices were very fair. Lion Home Service is now my go-to plumber. They also handle inspections and maintenance for electrical, heating and cooling, and I plan to use them in the future for those services as well. It is obvious that Lion is an extraordinarily well-run business. Save yourself some stress the next time you need a plumber and contact Lion Home Services!
I was pretty disappointed today after Lion's technicians left. The technicians were friendly enough and seemed knowledgeable, but the woman who booked the appt. over the phone said she would honor a $99 online coupon if I just told the technicians when they showed up about it. When the technician showed up, they mentioned it would be $168 to clean out the drain pipe and to get my stopper working again. They also added in this extra biodegradable drain cleaner... Which turned out to be $78 for a total cost of $233. I was given the five dollar discount for being a senior citizen. I felt like the cost was kind of high for what I was getting...and I was annoyed that I had chosen their company based on that coupon and then the coupon wasn't honored! The technician explained to me that the $99 coupon applied to cleaning out the mainline which involve taking off the toilet, and that they would speak to the phone person about that. That did not really make sense to me...because to me, taking off a toilet instead of just taking off a sink drain seems like a lot more work! To add insult to injury, they showed me my pop-up stopper system set-up that had corroded clean through using liquid plumber. Not a problem, they could replace it... For another $540! Say what?! I asked them to hold off for a minute while I looked up the part on Google , Amazon had several that were under $25. Needless to say I did not have this done and will be hiring a handyman to put in this part Lyons was able to put the part back, broken, in order to keep it from leaking while I look for, a cheaper pop-up system, maybe at Home Depot. I felt so disappointed and hurt that the coupon had not been honored, and that the cost would be astronomical just to replace this part. The 2 technicians worked on my bathroom sink a total of 35 minutes they spent cleaning out my drain. That said, the money gouging was what really torqued me, but the technicians seem knowledgeable and friendly overall. Still, I am an academic and have two masters degrees... And I only charge $85 an hour for my services.
We purchased a state of the art furnace, air conditioner, full house humidifier, and duct sealing from Lion Home Service the last quarter of 2020. This review is really about the duct sealing. First, some background. The other items were installed before thanksgiving 2020, but not without time delays. The people who did the install were wonderful but there were issues with the humidifier. It took a year and repeated visits by electricians before Lion's supplier in Denver finally agreed to send a different part as everything they suggested to Lion didn't work. The new part worked beautifully. Lion can't be blamed for a lousy part. We have had no problems since with any of the work Lion did on those three items. We find Lion's inspectors and electricians to be knowledgeable and professional. Now, for the duct work. The machine used to seal and test the duct work broke down toward the end of the job (2020). The young men who did the work said they were 90% done. They said they'd be back in a couple of weeks after the machine was fixed. Supply chain issues got in the way of that timeline. We weren't upset about that as Covid was causing delays everywhere on everything. I would call and leave messages. I was given assurances the message would get back to the duct work team. When the semiannual inspections were done I would ask about the duct work and, again, I was told the information would be passed on to the appropriate people. Months stretched into over two years. Finally, a few days ago I set aside a 4 hour block of time for them to come finish the job. It was a no show. I got a call afterwards and another 4 hour time block was set aside for today. Again, NO SHOW. Lion should do two things: first, don't sell a product you can't complete; second, reimburse us $500. That is the %10 of the amount we paid to have the duct work sealed. More than two years for an unfinished job is too long.
