Tyler installed a new whole water filtration system in our home. Tyler was amazing. He looked at our entire system, offered many different solutions and price points. Walked through each system and answered all questions. He did not pressure any kind if decision. After choosing the filter that would work best, he scheduled the install. It turned out way better than expected. The plumbing is very clean and orderly. He also took into account our biggest complaint about our current system and added in solutions to prevent that with the new system. I cannot recommend Tyler enough!

I called Allen Service to help diagnose and fix an electrical issue at my house. They were super nice and accommodating over the phone. The tech who came out, Tony, was really great. Got the work all done the same day. Easy to work with and very professional. Allen Service (and Tony) are my go-to for anything electrical now. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this company! they truly saved the day at my rental unit! I had six other plumbers and drain specialists come through, and none of them could figure out why water was leaking onto the floor. It was frustrating and costly chasing dead ends. Then I called these guys, and they nailed it right away. They found the issue quickly and efficiently, saving me from more unnecessary headaches. What stood out most was their incredible communication—they kept me fully in the loop every step of the way, explaining what they were doing and why. Nate was awesome from the start—professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Mathew and Mason absolutely knocked it out of the park with their skills and teamwork. The whole team was trustworthy, honest, and didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. In fact, they came up with a cheaper, smarter solution to my issue! I’m so happy I called them! Thanks so much guys!

We had Allen out to service our furnace one month ago. We paid $186. On the coldest night of the year the heater went out. It's -14 out and the furnace is showing the same error code from last month. We have a 1 year old in the house. This isn't what I paid for. Would never recommend to anyone.

After having good service with Allen before I figured I would reach out for a quote. I originally scheduled an appointment online to have Allen come give me a quote on a whole house humidifier. They called said the time and day I got online won't actually work so they needed to rescheduled. So they did for a week later. The day of the new appointment I took off work so I could be around. In the afternoon I got a call from a Grand junction number, they left a message, saying they are calling for me, then the message cut off. I didn't call back because I figured it was some sort of telemarketer. Then alittle while later my wife got a call saying since we were a no call no show and we needed to reschedule. So they rescheduled for the next day. Again I was at home all day. Finally later in the afternoon my wife called to check on the status, the dispatcher said the technician tried calling both numbers with out success. But neither my wife or myself ever got a call, she asked the dispatcher to have a manager call her, none did. It's safe to say we won't their services again and if someone asks who we recommend will make sure to say we don't recommend them because of this. Waste of time unfortunately.

To Whom It May Concern: Do not use Allen Plumbing and Heating, it is a terrible company in Fort Collins and they are not trustworthy. They are disrespectful and rude, pushy, and did not follow through, and they use unethical financing, scare tactics, and bait and switch tactics. Here is what I experienced with them: 1. Last year we had issues with a clog downstairs in our in our old town home, and could not do laundry. Allen representatives were pushy and said we needed a new "clean out" on the exterior of the house. However, we had a perfectly usable "clean out" with easy access to the basement. They used scare tactics and went over all the worst-case scenario options stating that we had excrement floating under the house and we needed to take action immediately. They then looked to see where the city's pipes entered and exited from the house and the Master Plumber said he absolutely knew it was in the backyard. The city was doing work on our streets and they were able to let the master plumber know that he was incorrect. However, this master plumber continued to show extreme arrogance and pushed us more and said that it was necessary once the "clean out" was created outside to have a flush out as well as a new pipe input (requiring they dig a trench) on the side of the house to get rid of the waste underneath the house. They said that if we didn't get a new pipe on the side of the house, the pipes would continue to plug up since we had "bellies and dips" that needed to be fixed. They pushed financing and we agreed to find out what we qualified for. Once they knew how much we qualified for, they said that was the same amount it would cost to do all of this work. This was an incredible amount of money beyond $28,000. Other companies were not this expensive for all of this work. All of Allen's options were very expensive and they bragged about their Master Plumber overseeing everything. In addition, they then showed us that once they were able to open the "clean out" and flush out the pipe, we would need to start the work on the side yard. We only agreed to an exterior "clean out", and flushing the current pipe out. 2. They dug the ground and created a "clean out" and they said they would flush the pipes. We had to contact them several times so that they would come and follow through with flushing out our pipe and use a camera to check our pipes. In the meantime, we were not able to do laundry for weeks. They contacted an excavator to open up our pipes and check for boring and they hired a company out of Greeley. They pulled a City of Fort Collins permit. This permit was opened but it was never closed and it was Allen's responsibility to have the City of Fort Collins investigate and request the permit be closed. In fact, this permit is still open as of today, October 9, 2023. 3. All in all, after many calls, they flushed out the pipes and used a video camera to check the pipes. I requested a copy of the video but they did not provide it to me, even after being billed for several thousands of dollars. Now the City of Fort Collins is requesting that Allen finalize their work with them and we are at risk of having to pay several more thousands of dollars. 4. We are more than dissatisfied with Allen and we will be taking them to small claims court. I will share this letter with the Better Business Bureau, and all social media outlets such as Facebook, Yelp, Google, etc. for overcharging us for the work they did, for taking several days and weeks to address our clog, for not allowing us to have a copy of the video that they took, for baiting and switching us with unethical finance tactics, and for not responsibly closing the permit with the City of Fort Collins. To sum up, we spent more than approximately three weeks unable to do laundry after already signing the financing paperwork, and their work was not completed. I regret ever working with Allen and I highly recommend that anyone needing plumbing, stay as far away from Allen Plumbing and Heating because they are the worst company in Fort Collins. Sincerely, Antonette

Original complaint : Don't waste your time on" preferred customer" its a waste, and they won't prefer you at all. Matter of fact, they will disrespect you at every turn. Unbelievable lack of service and response. I've called numerous times asking to speak to a supervisor to get warranty information for my home that has had 3 backups in a year. In June of 2022, we contacted Allen service as our pipes had clogged and caused a backup in the basement of our home, causing major damage to my 10 year old daughters room. They told us it was caused by roots in the pipes outside our home that relining our outside pipe would solve the issue. 22 thousand dollars out of pocket later. As the project ends, they promise I will receive a final video , receipt, and warranty information . This never happens. Fast forward 8 months, and a backup happened again, flooding my 10 year old daughters room with urine and feces , again. We call Allen service, and with our preferred customer, they can come over 24 plus hours later and charge us almost 600 dollars to unclog the pipe. At this time, they promised that the excavation supervisor would call to come out and do a video to discuss options. This never happened. 3 months later, and it happens again! The same issue they promised to fix for 22 thousand dollars in June of 2022! This time, they don't charge us based on the warranty from the last visit. They unclog the pipe, and it is outside the house . They promise that the excavation supervisor would call and come out to do a video consult again, but of course, they never call . A week later, I call them asking to cancel my preferred customer and they say , " we will make note on the file about canceling preferred customer " and have a manager call, again this Never happens. They didn't cancel as requested or have a supervisor call , again. I feel like they are forcing me to call the B.B.B. to get a resolution. Update : I contacted the BBB and here is Allen Services response: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us and bring this to our attention. As a company, we are committed to providing excellent customer service and high-quality workmanship. Unfortunately, we fell short of this in your case and we sincerely apologize for our poor communication and workmanship. Please know that we're committed to making things right for you. After our conversation, we sent our supervisor to inspect the line and discovered that the liner was missing from the home to the cleanout. To quickly resolve the issue, we sent a professional to your home to jet the lines and remove any roots causing the backup. We are currently working on a solution to complete the lining from the house to the cleanout. Rest assured, that we're taking all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence. Our goal now is to regain your trust: but we understand we have to earn it. We have not lived up to the standards we set for ourselves and we are truly sorry. If you have any questions, please call Danielle direct at 970-494-7606. Thank you updates : Called Danielle 8/5/23 left a message at 1pm about not receiving contact for the relining and for being charged for "preferred customer " in July after I requested cancelation in June and July and she promised to cancel but give me 1 year free to " win me back". No call back 8/5. As of today 8/3/23 I have had no contact from Allen service in almost a month. They have not completed the job and seem to again be lacking in appropriate communication. Calling Danielle tomorrow . As of 7/17/23 Allen service has come out for the Initial emergency part of the plan and I am awaiting contact and the relining as of 7/17/23.

My Experience with Allen Service - Never Again I will not be using Allen for any future services. I highly recommend doing thorough research and getting quotes before working with them, as they will take advantage of you with inflated prices. They are more interested in how much they can make off you than actually helping you. Allen reached out to me about a simple, routine water heater drain as part of the service contract I have with them. While I expected to pay for the service, I appreciated their outreach to check in with a member. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. They sent Logan Edwards, who was inexperienced and failed to properly drain my water heater. He didn't follow standard procedures, and when he couldn't reignite the pilot light, he blamed it on the age of my water heater, claiming it was common. So, they sent out a senior plumber, Jaden Wright, who immediately told me my only option was to replace the entire water heater for $4600. I was shocked. Then, Jaden claimed he was offering me a "deal" at $4000. What upset me most was when Jaden admitted that Logan had not followed the proper process, which made me think, "This is your fault for sending someone out who doesn't know what they're doing." I made it clear that my water heater had been working perfectly fine before they arrived, and now, suddenly, it was completely nonfunctional. With temperatures dropping to 20 degrees, I was left in a tough situation, needing hot water. Feeling pressured and stuck, I reluctantly agreed to pay the outrageous price. Jaden even claimed the water heater itself was a $1500 unit and that Allen only sells the best. But after doing some research and getting a couple more quotes, I found the same water heater was available at Lowe's for no more than $700. The other companies I contacted (American Plumbing & Sewer and Noble Plumbing) would have done the same work for $2200 and $2300, respectively. The next morning, I called Alec Nelson, the manager, to explain the situation. I asked for a $1500 refund, and we eventually settled at $1200. While I felt a bit better, I was still upset about the overpayment for something I didn't even need. The pressure they put me under was created by Allen's own lack of training--either that, or it's part of their business strategy: send out a novice plumber to mess up your equipment, then have a senior tech come in, force you into a no-win situation, and upcharge you twice the market price. After reflecting on the entire ordeal, I called Alec back to express my disappointment with how Allen takes advantage of its customers. I ultimately exercised my "3-day right of rescission," and Alec immediately agreed to let me keep the water heater they had installed and provide a full refund--though I still had to deal with all the stress and time lost. While Allen did eventually make things right, it doesn't erase the terrible experience I had. I would have been happy to pay for proper, trustworthy service, but instead, I was met with a greedy company that only cares about making a profit. I would never recommend Allen to anyone. My advice is to find a local shop that provides upfront quotes over the phone and doesn't try to pull a fast one like Allen. They may have resolved the issue in the end, but it doesn't change how poorly I was treated throughout the process. Shoutout to American Plumbing and Sewer--Lanney and Amy were great and helped me navigate this difficult situation. They are local to Loveland, CO, and I would highly recommend getting their opinion on any plumbing needs.

Allen Service is an unethical, unprofessional, overpriced, underqualified company and they lead customers to financial SCAMs. Their shady "bait-and-switch" financial practice leaves a bad taste. I would advice anyone to AVOID Allen Service in Fort Collins, this scammer company at all cost. Heating and dirty financing tricks: Last year we hired them for an inspection on a perfectly functioning furnace. They cited a small problem and persuaded us to buy and install a new furnace with financing plan. Later we learned from our professional friends that the small problem is not only an easy fix, we also OVERPAID our new furnace for 150% market average. The young technician accidentally broke our dry wall and destroyed many of my plants while installing the furnace (fine, shit happens during installation, we understand). The WORST part is the financing plan. Allen Service persuade customers for unnecessary expensive jobs by providing this financing services. When they explained it to us, it was interest free for the first year and the interest starts to accrue after the first year. However, when getting the real plan, they have switched the terminology and played dirty financing tricks on us.What a "bait-and-switch". In reality, they forces customers to pay 15% as the total interest because you cannot pay the whole amount early and all of the interest appear after one year. Now we are paying an UNNECESSARY new furnace for 200% market average. Plumbing: We had a complex plumbing issue this year and called Allen Service. They quoted 150k for a complete remodel (because they can't fix the problem without a whole kitchen/bathroom remodeling) and provided loan option. We hired another company who finished the job in one afternoon for 2k. During their visit, they also told my tenant that they are hiring because my tenant (not plumber) seemed more knowledgeable than their plumber. General Word of Mouth: We discussed this Allen Service with other friends and it seemed like everyone had an unpleasant experience with them. One friend specifically made and spreadsheet and found that Allen Service charges at least 60% more than the real cost of the job ( cost includes a good technician salary). I do not know how they got this much good review and I suspect the legitimacy of those reviews. Judge it yourself.

Hilda P Nigh my husband had passed away and I didn't know the ins and outs of hiring a plumber when my furnace went out. so I called Allan Services and they told me I needed a new one because mine was old and burned out. I was so confused and they sent a well dressed man to sell me on a new furnace. it was very Formal and he convinced me to sign with the company for a new furnace. I thought I passed when he said it would be $15,000. for a new one. so I signed and paid $5,000. cash to get a new one. Now I'm in Hawk for the remainder of the total. they must have seen me as a dummy and a female who fell for it. then I mentioned my kitchen faucet was no longer working and again sent a young worker to install a new one which ended up costing a thousand. I thought what else can go wrong? well my sewer line in the basement overflowed and I idiot called them. they said they had to go through the toilet downstairs and check the line. I stupidly said ok from the urgency and they charged me $691. and because 5:00 came around he said he had to return the next day to finish the job. I was so frustrated that I called a different plumber that was recommended and they came out and when I said what was charged they said I was taken and they did the same job for $190. and finished the job and said to keep the pipes flowing have it done yearly. they also mentioned I should stop payment with my credit card because they didn't finish the job. which I did. people men and women don't be fooled like I was and call Allan Services they will charge big amounts for something that could have been cheaper. when Allan zest I es wanted to know why I didn't have their man return to finish I told them that they over charged and took me for a fool to not question their quote. I should have looked up the company for reviews before doing anything. learn from my mistakes and DO NOT CALL ALLAN SERVICES unless you want to be taken advantage of thank you and beware!

cancelled on me three times. this is a follow up to an earlier review I left where I'd already been rescheduled twice. Client relations reached out to me and gave me a voucher to cover the cost of maintenance. nice perk. however, upon scheduling my tankless water heater to be descaled a third time, the earliest appointment was another 8 days out, making it already a three week endeavor, and putting in for PTO twice to be available for the appointment. The other fun part is that there is one number on their site for the company, but apparently the early scheduler was giving me techs for the Foco area, as the individual scheduling me for my latest attempt for service mentioned, "huh, you're in the denver area,"....no kidding. you ask my address/area code. not sure how that wasn't automatically changing how you book my appointment. That brings us to today, when I get a call AFTER THE TIME WINDOW MY TECH WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL FOR WHEN THEY WOULD BE ONSITE. not before, which is consistent with their brand of customer service. the scheduler mentioned that she has to push my appointment out to the week of march 9th, which will make this a 1 month endeavor to get a simple project done. they also mentioned that three of their techs called out with the flu......I would like to say I'm completely understanding of illnesses.....but amidst the current situation and how it was handled, that's incompetence. Especially when you take the time to mention that you only have 2 techs in the area that are trained to do the service I requested. which kind of tells me that either your schedulers need a bit more training on how to handle these kinds of issues, or more likely, you're making up a story. If you want to wait around, call Allen services. if you want to get your job completed, call someone else. I've now actively lost a day and a half of work/pay trying to utilize their services......at least they have a snazzy website.

Our experiences with Allen Service have all been positive until now. We discovered that both our furnace and AC needed replacement at the same time (they were old, we knew it was coming) rather than continuing to patch them both. The quotes we were offered ranged from several thousand to almost 2x more than the very highest end of the price range locally for the same type of job. Going back and forth with the quote was very similar to the treatment one gets when buying a car (let me ask my manager). In the end we got $4000 off a mid-priced option and would likely have gotten a further reduction since they immediately agreed to this. The day of the work the two technicians arrived within about an hour of the planned start time. But - they took 11 hours and 45 minutes rather than the 8 we were told by Allen. No one ever came out to check on progress. They missed dinner and still didn't finish the project, there was a task left undone in the basement and they told us about it. This seemed to be a 3-person job. The person who quoted us told us he'd be bringing out smoke detectors that were required for the city inspection. I had to call and email several times before someone brought those out - and then the day of the inspection they were not even an issue (though all the work was perfect according to the inspector). I also had to call more than once to get someone to come out and finish the job - they had no idea what I was talking about either. The new AC can't be tested until it's above 70F. While we had several unusual days in December/early January that met that mark, no one has contacted us and I assume like the rest, it will be up to us to get them to come do that in the spring. Not the best experience for sure and the pricing was way above the average for this area. Added March 2026: no one has ever contacted us about testing the AC. Waiting for a response on that now.

I recently had Allen Service do an overpriced $16,000 sewer line repair, and it was probably the worst financial decision of my life. First: The plumber who wrote the handwritten contract, is a liar. I was lied to on at least five occasions. He promised me again and again that they would provide emailed documentation of the contract as well as an itemized invoice. I never received any documents from the company. Jason also made verbal statements clarifying the extent of the work to be done. These statements were either ignorantly forgotten, or they were lies. Additionally, Jason and the crew were 1-4 hours late EVERY time they showed up. Second: Many issues developed from the work completed. -They left hundreds of pounds of concrete chunks spread literally all over my front yard (which took me 20 hours of labor to remove) -They left PVC, cast iron pipe, rubber gloves, and straight up trash in the front yard. Nothing was hauled away. They attempted to bury all of the work mess in the trench they dug to fix a belly in the yard. However, the rubbish was only spread on the surface. -Broke a water line and didn't fix it properly (the water line started to leak after they left, and I ended up fixing the CPVC myself) -Left exposed wire next to a shower drain -Left 2x4 framing unsupported when they broke the concrete underneath and caused a small wall to fall down later and destroy the new concrete -Left pvc pieces under reinstalled carpet, so I had to tear the carpet up and remove it -Two way clean outs were installed 8 inches bellow grade in the front yard! I had to place large rocks over the clean out location, so if we need to access them, we can locate and dig them out. This project was to replace less than 15 feet of sewer line. Save yourself money, stress, and dignity by choosing a company other than Allen Service.

I just want to warn anyone thinking of using Allen Service --BUYER BEWARE. We had a serious sewer drain issue at our house, and called Allen Service. We've been using them for about two years. We got the bid to dig a 8'x1' exploratory hole for a little more than $8,000. Of course, we called for second and third opinions. Both other companies came in more than $5,000 lower. If that wasn't enough reason to be concerned, I then had reason to check my security cameras that are outside of my house. To my surprise and disgust, the lead guy on the bid job was out there coaching the younger guys how to get us to accept the bid, and how to get us to sign right away, leaving no time for second opinions. I was horrified. I called and spoke to someone to cancel the work. They showed up the next day anyhow. That same guy screamed at me on my front porch (also have video of this), and refused to leave. He threatened me that if I didn't let them in to do the work, the company would charge me for "every cent" anyways. It was scary. I was shaking and very alarmed. I had interviewed with this company at one point, and was told how they pay their employees. They pay very low wages, and then pay 20% commission to their employees who "up-sell" projects like this one. They still have not refunded the deposit they collected the night they put pressure on me to sign, saying that if I didn't sign right then, I'd likely be without water for at least a week and a half, since no other company would do it for less, and they only had time the next day. All bullshit. They have nice looking trucks and ads on tv, but DO NOT trust this company. EDIT: Upon further review of the security cameras, Jason, the technician, very clearly calls me a "dumb b*itch". Very professional.

Scored in multiple categories. Five stars for employees calling ahead before they arrive. Employees were also very clean and wore boot covers. They were friendly and courteous and paid attention to detail and seemed like they did a good job and left the area clean. One stars for corporate waiver forms. I was told that I had to fill out a form saying that I would pay the price or else there would be a certain fee that was a certain percent along with percentages that would accrue as an interest rate and legal fees. Really this was crazy! I would agree to pay the price and give them my credit card and pay immediately but I wasn't signing anything stating that they were going to sue me and I would pay certain percentages and there lawyer costs. It really turned from a friendly agreement on price to a possible litigation agreement. It was a horrible way for a company to build trust with the new customer. It instantaneously broke rapport ! One stars for price. The price for just labor on the toilet replacement in a new house that is only three years old was $525! According to home advisor.com "A standard toilet install should take between one and two hours to complete and cost an average of $348 or less. Basic installs will run around $115. Unexpected costs could raise the cost up to as much as $800." Unfortunately many plumbers will not give you an estimate over the phone. It is also not easy to compare prices since many plumbers will charge you a fee just to give you an estimate. If there are plumbers out there that are more transparent about their cost and publish them on their website at a fair price then I think they would get a ton of business. Overall score 2.33 stars.
