Drew did a wonderful job explaining our power vent gas water heater and a tankless water heater. He was very professional and efficient. He wore shoe covers and explained everything he did thoroughly. Thanks Drew! Thanks Jarboe Heating, Cooling and Plumbing!
I booked an appointment this morning because I was having issues with the water temperature in my bathroom. I was able to book an appointment for them to come within 2 hours. The technician, Jonathan D, was great! He was very communicative, nice, and respectful. He quickly fixed the issue and did not charge me an arm and a leg which I was worried about with plumbing. Highly recommend Jarboe's and will definitely go back again if I have any issues.
Very friendly, professional and efficient team. Really appreciated the updates leading up to our appointment. Reasonable rates and we actually paid nothing in the end because they couldn’t diagnose/find the problem. Our issue may have just been ice/temperature related. We will definitely use Jarboe’s again in the future.
Three years ago the upstairs tenants in a condo where I lived, they hired Jarbos plumbing to come out and take a look see where the leak was coming from in my living room ceiling. For some reason they must have talked this over before they come down here, the plumber actually said the leak was coming from the roof. I've been to maintenance man for 28 years, my parents flipped 14 properties I think I know where the leak was coming from. It was coming from a rotten toilet flange because the other plumber told me they were tired of them trying to lie out of everything. I ran them out of here cussed all of them out ! Don't ever assume someone doesn't know anything about maintenance because that's clearly what your plumber did and I called him straight out on it !
Had a technician come out to my home yesterday to look at my heating issue. He stated I needed an igniter but he didn't have one on his truck. He also stated that he would call to see if any other technician had the part today. There was no follow up call about the part from any technician! I called back and the dispatch stated it would be $200 fee to open the parts department to LOOK for the part because it may not be there.
Brandon made an appearance to do a maintenance plumbing service I have paid monthly for, for over a year, just now got. HVAC was promised twice a year, only got one last year and said they had no availability until end of July. Brandon tried to upsell me on a multitude of things that would estimate over 6k. All I wanted was a leaking pipe patched. I refused multiple times. Still sent invoice dor it all. I said i only want the small part of pipe patched. 500$ for that. Asked repeatedly I leave a review (3-4 times during 20 minutes of doing nothing but tightening my faucet. The multiple requests for reviews, tips and to make sure I include how he "fixed my sink because he's so nice" when I asked if he could tighten the faucet which took 3-5 minutes. Turned my water heater off without telling me. Didn't realize until I went to shower. Had to spend several minutes trying to fugure out issue. I was clearly distressed over costs of repairs to house and expressed that and as soon as he knew I was ignorant of plumbing repairs, tried to insist I needed 6k worth of work done and 2-3 times said I can leave him a tip. Checked nothing but pipe I specifically asked for. Spoke to me in a condescending, monotone voice with patronizing questions to make me feel worse and convince me I needed 6k+ of work. Paid a monthly subscription for a year and got one HVAC service who uphold me on duct cleaning and one plumbing maintenance who did nothing but turn my hot water off, tell me I need thousands in work done. When I said I couldn't afford that, I had to make a hardship withdrawal from retirement just to cover the other repairs just done, casually said I'll owe a lot in taxes and he knows that forsure because he has a friend that's a tax guy, okay. Like I'm not stressed enough. Stressful. Uncomfortable. Blaise attitude. No care to what can help, just fishing for $$$$ not worth it at all. Constantly asking for reviews, tips and telling naive people they need thousands in repairs is insulting, pathetic, gross, belittling and sleazy sells pitch and self promotion. The real kicker is calling to tell their AI robot my water heater was shut off by the technician and they said they could have someone come out Monday to fix their mistake for 80$ I spent 20 minutes figuring out how to fix it myself, after a brutal, long day. Canceling all services. Made a pretty penny off me for doing next to nothing.
I was very pleased with the service I received from Jarboes. I saw their coupon in the value pack for a tune up and called them, turns out my system was leaking and and as the country is doing away with R-22, the cost to try to repair a leaking system and re-service it with R-22 , I might as well get a new system. I used another coupon from Bryant for a second opinion on my unit, just to ensure my peace of mind that the unit was broke hard. I got 4 bids and was kind of leaning towards a Carrier unit and Jarboes came in not only $1800 under the next Carrier bid , but it was the exact same unit type down to the same serial number model. In addition, they were the only ones that wanted to install new copper supply lines, none of the others wanted to do that , even when I asked about it. I guess that is standard, to pressure test and use old lines , but I was thinking I am replacing a 12 year old leaking unit and I have no clue where the leak is , I want new supply lines. Than they also GAVE me a new Honeywell wifi digital thermostat, everyone else said they could install a new thermostat, but it would add between $300 -$400 to the bill. Once I talked to Mike Meehan the sales rep and we confirmed the deal a few days later Loren Bierly and Jack Story called they were 15 minutes out and they showed up at my door and promptly went to work. I want to say it took them about 4 to 5 hours and they had my new unit in with new supple lines and my new digital wifi thermostat in place and operating as advertised. I can not imagine a better installation process, Loren installed my new coil inside as Jack went to work on taking out the old unit. they ran the new supply lines and serviced the new unit up to specs. Being an engineer by trade, I was very impressed with how these guys operated. In the end, I got the unit I wanted for a better price , I got the extras I wanted, at no extra cost and as part of my deal there is a CAIRfree maintenance visit added for free and a Plumbing visit as well for free. I highly recommend theses guys, of course you should always shop around, if you are in the market for a new AC unit at the very least three bids, I had four and Jarboes came out ahead. Yep as good as it gets I think. Thanks Mike, Loren and Jack.
Warning if you are thinking about buying from Jarboe's heating and cooling do NOT. They give the worst service I have ever experienced. I bought an air conditioner from them last year. It has since stopped working. I have called several times. The first appointment I set the people did not even show up. They finally sent someone days later and I was told they could not help me fix it. They said they would be back and that was over a month ago! I keep trying to call customer service and they wont let me speak to a manager. This is ridiculous! I highly recommend using someone else. Update: I have spoken to Nathan Williams and his response is they will be able to service the air conditions on June 25. This will be 2 MONTHS after I made the first call. This is unacceptable since they have told me on multiple occasions that they would be coming out to my home today. They have the nerve to tell me I agreed to the June 25th date which is not true! I have moved my work schedule around in order to be home for the service. The heat index is increasing and now it is becoming unbearable. Update: I have a dispute that I opened with the better business bureau I cannot wait to get this resolved. They took $500 from me for a service agreement and they have not been to my house one time. We have scheduled three different appointments and they did not show up any of those times. I've dealt with their customer service Nathan Williams and he kept telling me they always do the right thing yet never came out within three phone calls and always had excuses each time. I called Maeser Plumbing and heat and air they were out the very next night and fixed everything. If you had the same experience with them you can call the BBB at 502-583-6546 New Update: it is 9/9/2020 and I have yet to receive my $500 refund. This is ridiculous! I have never dealt with a more unprofessional business in my life.
I had a very frustrating experience with Jarboe’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing and would not recommend them based on how this situation was handled. I initially called them out to inspect a furnace after LG&E and a licensed plumber identified a gas leak and determined the issue was likely coming from the HVAC system. The first technician came out and told me she couldn’t find anything wrong. Because LG&E continued to detect a problem, they came back out and met with the plumber. Together, they tested all the gas lines and confirmed that the only line losing pressure was the one connected to the furnace. At that point, it was clear something had been missed during the initial visit. I called Jarboe’s back to explain the situation and scheduled a return visit. I was explicitly told over the phone that I would not be charged another diagnostic fee since they were coming back out for the same issue. However, the second technician called me ahead of the appointment and immediately questioned how LG&E and the plumber could have determined the furnace was the source. He then said he would just repeat what the previous technician did and, if nothing was found, I would be charged another diagnostic fee anyway. He also stated that they “can’t keep coming back out for the same problem if nothing is wrong,” which was incredibly frustrating given that multiple parties had already confirmed there *is* a problem. The tone was dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly rude. Instead of taking the new information seriously and trying to resolve what is clearly an ongoing gas issue, it felt like they were more concerned about avoiding responsibility and charging additional fees. At the end of the day, this is a safety issue involving a gas leak. I expected a higher level of professionalism, thoroughness, and customer care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
"Two bad experiences! 1st On a "AC check up" in April, I was told my unit needed gas and the gas is obsolete but available. Cost of gas and labor would be approximately $2300 . I called other service for a second opinion and they recommended replacing the gas with a new replacement gas and the total price would be $700. I had unit repaired for the price quoted and the unit has been working great now 5 months later. 2nd bad experience. I was out of town when my son who was recuperating from an auto accident experienced a backed up drain. He called for their $93 drain cleaning. He was charged $200 to remove and install toilet ( I am not a professional and can easily R&R toilet in 20 min have done it many times. ) He was not made aware of an additional charge. Rather than $93 He was charged $325. An estimate was given for repairs to properly repair the problem for an additional $1647.00 (to replace 5 plastic pipe hangers and install 1 clean out) I performed the above repairs myself in approx. 1 hr. and $10 for materials. FYI: I am not and have never been a plumber. Let's face it; they can't service an AC unit or clean out a drain for their advertised prices! They rely on additional charges to make the service call VERY profitable. I feel that a reputable company would be upfront and advertise a reasonable price and charge a fair price for a repair job." I attempted to contact their "Customer Assistance Team" and received answer, so I left a message and have received no response. I feel that both situations described above were examples of an intentional ripoff of a customer.. I will NEVER use Jarboe's again and will recommend and encourage others to never consider them and to contact their local hometown Plumber, HVAC or Electrician when any of these services are needed.
Ive used Jarboes along with other plumbing companies multiple times as im in real estate. I called Jarboes on Saturday jan 31st 2026 due to a leaking bath tub faucet. The plumbing tech Drew S showed up, evaluated the leak, stated he needed to shut the water off to make the repairs. There was snow on the ground and needed to access the water shut off. He completely over looked the main shut off in the house. I asked for a few minutes to clear off the snow and Drew said it was my job to have it cleared off before he got there. With not knowing he would need access to the main shut off in the yard it wasn't clear. Drew was there a total of 10 minutes, refused to wait for me to clear off the snow and billed me $150 with zero work performed. He left, I went out in the yard and cleared off the snow, called jarboes back and drew said he would charge another $150 to come back out (same day), I didnt agree with the charge but needed the repair done so asked him to come back out. He then refused to come back out and told me to find another plumber based on me not wanting to be double charged. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I then called Tom Drexeler and they came out in a timely manner and made the repairs. I tried to call and discuss this with jarboes customer service and there's zero support after the service is done if there's a issue. Out of all the plumbing companies in Louisville I would not recommend jarboes based on the poor customer service I received from drew along with NO customer service after the fact from the company
Jarboes installed a new water heater in May 2020. The pilot would come on but would not light the water heater so since they installed I called for repair. immediately said it was a faulty gas valve and would be 869.00 for the part. I looked online and the part is under 200.00 in two different stores. There is actually a manufacturer defect in the Honeywell gas valve. That should have been replaced with a different model at no cost to me and I also had the 6 year parts and maintenance warranty on my paperwork they did not honor. water heater was not repaired. I received an estimate for a new water heater at just under 3000.00 dollar's. Really? In less than 4 years I need to replace my water heater? Last night I looked at YouTube videos and reset the gas valve. It's up and runnin! Shower, two loads of dishes and load of laundry and still hot water. If the water heater fails again I shall never call Jarboes for repair service or installation of a new one. They do not honor the warranty and know it is a defective part. Also the tech said it was not up to code because it had no drain pan. The old one had one and the new one came with a drain pan. The installers installed the water heater before putting the drain pan in and would have had to disconnect and reconnect so they took it back with them. In the estimate says drain out line in crawl space. There is a drain out line already existing!
I called Jarboe's to have my furnace cleaned. I had never used Jarboe's before but had a coupon for a low cost furnace tuneup. When I bought the house I knew the furnace was old, but I had no idea it was nearly 30 years old and rusting out. The tech showed me another offer on the coupon that would give me over $2900 off a new system. I wasn't about to let that slip by me. I called 2 other companies for quotes. The man from Jarboe's came the next day to price a new system for me. He came with presentation material and explained everything in detail. (Another company had already come to price a new system. He came with a clipboard, paper and pen, then when he had his figures, he presented me with pricing. That's it.) While Jarboe's was there I called and cancelled the third company. I knew I could not get a better deal for a 2-stage furnace and A/C unit. I am very pleased with my new furnace. I'm much more comfortable because my house temperature stays more consistent. Plus the unit is so quiet I often don't realize when it's on. Day one the tuneup. Day two the presentation and agreement to buy the system. Day three the installation. Over these three days 5 men. All were detailed, polite, and knowledgeable. I highly recomment Jarboe's.
Major ripoff. I wonder how many elderly and unsuspecting people have really gotten the shaft? My A/C stopped working and I called Jarboe's on Thursday, a tech showed up in the time frame given checked out my A/C and said I needed a new fan motor and a new blade it wound cost over $3000 I said I can't afford that he said let me see if there are any discounts I can give you then came back and said if I pay for this maintenance service for a year at a cost of $189 he could do the job for $1425 but he would have to come back the next day, now that was $$189 maintenance for 1 year, $860 for the motor and $378 for the fan blade not sure why I needed a fan blade. I couldn't afford that either so I paid his service call which because there was a holiday this weekend he said it was considered holiday pay and overtime because he got there after 5 pm so $150 in all. I contacted a friend the next day he picked up a OEM motor for $112 plus tax did not replace the blade had no reason took him about 30 mins and my ac is working fine his trip charge, labor and parts for the day before July 4th was less than what Jarboe's was going to charge me for just the blade. Please research any repairs cost before getting ripped off by this crew.
We had a moderate leak under the kitchen sink, so we called Jarboe's. On Dec 19th, a service person came and decided that we needed to change the air gap for the dishwasher. He changed it, but the next day, the leak was still there, so we called Jarboe's again, who told us they will send a "Senior plumber", who came on the 21st. He decided that sealing the periphery will solve the leakage problem, but won't be aesthetically good. Alternately we could replace the sink. We didn't care about aesthetics, so he went ahead and sealed the periphery. We asked about refund for the airgap replacement which was unnecessary and he told us to call the company. The company told us an email to the refund department will be sent and they would contact us. Nothing happened for a month so we called the company again and the lady told us she could send another email to refund department but we could neither call them directly nor have any other recourse than to wait for decision of the refund department. We have yet to hear for a fair resolution of the problem. It seems we are out of luck as far as a fair refund is concerned. All I can do is to call the better business bureau or forget the whole thing (except to write this review).
