I've used gladiator in the past. They dug a clean out for my house. They gave me a honest quote before working and I'm completely satisfied with their service.
I'm so appreciative of Raul and Victor. I ended up with a backed up sewer this morning, so I called Gladiator Plumbing. Within an hour Raul arrived. He wasn't able to clear the line, but he sent Raul, who cleared it quickly. I had a very positive experience.
The pump in our lift station wasn't activating and we were having problems with sewage. Roto Rooter came out twice and basically didn't know what they were doing. In frustration I turned to Yelp. Gladiator was extremely responsive (came out same day) and fixed the problem quickly. Very professional.
I'm pretty pissed off with Gladiator's service. First they cut huge hole into ceiling to find the source of the leak. Not sure why they didn't cut pilot hole and use mirror or camera to see what's going on. Then they charge me $2000 to replace the pipe going from the toilet to the vertical cast-iron pipe (4 hours of work that came out to $500/hour). Then they discovered that did not solve the problem. That the real problem was that the sewer lateral had roots. They could not bore out the roots with the tiny snake and had to quickly leave for another job. Plumber Alejandro suggested that the proper fix was to cut into the exterior wall of our house saw thru the cast iron pipe and reroute it to the sewer laterals outside the house. That didn't seem like a good idea to me. I asked him if one outgoing pipe was bad, with roots, then aren't the other pipes (sink, shower, laundry, etc) also needing attention? But he only wanted to address the one problem at hand. I deciding against using Gladiator any further and got JPC Rooter & Plumbing to fix my plumbing issues instead - and they did a great job of replacing the lateral for about 6 outgoing pipes that were under the concrete walkway, and poured new concrete - all in one day - for a reasonable price. I would definitely not recommend Gladiator to anyone.
You have to be careful with these guys. The site says "free estimates," but only if it can done over the phone, it really means they charge $220 to $240 if we have to come to your house and do anything. For example, go into your crawl space under your house (which was my situation for a partial repiping). If you decide to go with them for the job you aren't charged for the "free estimate." None of this is made clear upfront, luckily I had several phone calls with them and all this came out eventually. I don't know if this standard industry practice, (it wasn't for our other estimates) but it should have explained upfront. Of course none of reflects on the quality of their work, since I cancelled the "free estimate" once it all became clear.
I called Gladiator after calling my normal plumber. My normal plumber had closed shop and moved out of state but said he 100% recommended Gladiator. I called their office number and with three rings i was connected to someone in the office. I let them know that i was having an issue with some plumbing and the plumber my "home warranty company" has sent out. (I put home warranty company in quotes for a reason, but that will be a different review). This part is to explain why I called Gladiator: The home warranty plumber had come out after i paid my $75 deductible from the warranty company, but it took 3 days even though i told them i had a leaking pipe. When that plumber got there it took him 45 minutes of standing at staring at the wall and sink in question. I told him that i believed that the faucet handle was leaking in the wall but because it was so rusted i didn't want to risk breaking the pipe so i had called them. That plumber said he would have to talk to his boss. 15 minutes later he informed me that he would have to remove the sink, break out most of the wall and replace a bunch of stuff of which the home warranty would cover $100 worth of labor and nothing else. He estimated it would be between $900-1000 worth of work and would require that the water be shut off for a whole day. Not exactly a great thing when you have a 1 year old at home. After hearing his pricing I told him no thanks, for that kind of money I'll take the risk of breaking the pipe and doing it my self. This part is to explain why i will use Gladiator for the rest of my life: As soon as the home warranty guy had left I called my normal guy who then sent me to Gladiator. Gladiator plumbing answer the phone within three rings. I can't remember who i spoke to in the office but I will say everyone in the office is kind and helpful. I explained what my problem was, I explained what i thought the issue was and i explained what the first plumber had said. The office person took my phone number and said i can have someone up to your house around 4pm today does that work? Now mind you i made this call around 11am, first company takes 3 days, gladiator can be there in hours. I told them that would be awesome. Not 35 minutes after i hung up with the office, my phone rang. I answered it and a gentleman informed me he was with gladiator plumbing and an appointment had canceled. He asked if he could come up immediately. I said yes and he was there in 25 minutes. After looking at the leak and listening to what i thought the problem was, he informed me that he could have the entire thing fixed in just about and hour. He said most of that time would be waiting on another plumber to show up with a specialized tool and a special part. I said sounds great and asked a price. He told me it would be right around $400 and then proceeded to break down the cost for me, the part was relatively cheap, so the labor made up most of the cost, but true to his word he had the leak fixed in an hour. This shows me the old saying is true, "If i can fix something in 30 minutes, it's because I spent years learning the job, you're not paying me for the minutes but for the years of experience" The entire staff at gladiator was beyond helpful and Courteous. I will recommend them to anyone. Since this initial call out, they have returned twice more to do some work and are always prompt and up front about cost. Thank you Gladiator Plumbing for making this new homeowners life a little easier.
For starters, I want to say that this was a same day call and that Victor showed up the same day to "fix" our plumbing. However, I want to say that I have never felt more UNCOMFORTABLE in my life with someone working in my home. At first it seemed fine. He asked me where the area of issue was and I showed him. He then told me he needed power to use his tool. Not a problem. He has his own extension cord and I pulled it in on the inside and he worked outside where the sewage drain was for around 15 mins or so.... Then he came inside to take a look at the tub. It wasn't till this moment, that I noticed my bathroom started to reek of alcohol. (Its Friday. Who am I to judge you?... except you came to work at someone's house.. smelling like alcohol, to work. ) He worked on the tub for about 30-45 mins or so. (During of which I checked in a few times. I wanted to see what was causing the drains to clog since the toilet, the initial issue, was taken care of already when Victor did the sewage line outside.) I offered him water to be hospitable and he showed me the pieces that were stuck in my tub drain. He also informed me that he would need to come back to get the "stopper" out of the drain. I told him that it would not be up to me. He continued to push saying he could come back tomorrow and that it would be a new charge. Again, I told him it was not up to me. That if we needed then he would get another call. He continued to push a few more times saying "I could even come back tomorrow but you don't want me.." THAT IS WEIRD. It didn't help that every time I left, he would look at my behind. I WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I even tried to tell him a few times when he was working during the 30-45 mins that he "did the best he could and that was fine. I will figure it out out later." I also even said "My brother said forget it. You don't have to keep working." I went as far as to say I needed to take off from the house. When he finally "finished", my bathroom was left really dirty. He dropped my toilet paper roll into the toilet while was trying to clean stuff with it, and I kept walking around my own home to avoid him. At the final end, I asked for a receipt, he put all of his stuff down, and stepped really close to me as I was trying to give him payment. ($200 in cash) I stepped back and walked around the other side of the room to distance myself. Then I asked for a receipt. He said he would bring it back inside once he puts everything away but I was really weirded out. I told him no I can grab it from him outside. (I have cameras.) I went as far as to keep someone on the phone and walked away from him while he was writing my receipt, because I felt really uncomfortable. I shook his hand at the end and HE LEANED IN FOR A HUG. I WAS STILL ON THE PHONE AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT LEAN IN ANYWAY AS I WAS SO WEIRDED OUT. HE KISSED THE SIDE OF MY HEAD!!!!!! WHO DOES THAT?! OMG. I really didn't know what to do but pretend like it didn't happen and keep my phone conversation going to get rid of him. BUT LIKE OMG! BEWARE! ESPECIALLY WOMEN WHO ARE HOME ALONE AS I WAS! OMG. THIS WAS TRULY UNCOMFORTABLE. REALLY WISH I PUSHED HIM. I was kind of stunned and tried to keep a straight face. I am disappointed that I did not say anything then and there. Unfortunately, at the time, my only thought was to get him out of my home. While walking away, he again pushed to come back to my home to "fix" my tub again... No. NO. NO NO NO. SERIOUSLY. NO.
I was not aware that when I request a quote from a specific company page that @Yelp would send this out to multiple folks in a given region. However, that is how I ended up finding Gladiator Rooter and plumbing. They along with a variety of others reached out to me in response to an issue I'd been having with a sewer line that had been backing up on multiple instances. I was beyond frustrated, as Roto-Rooter who had done my first few snake projects had just given me a wild bid to dig up my line and replace a section of pipe that had a root intrusion. One that after taking 3 additional bids was basically predatory in nature at 4x everyone else's price. Michelle at Gladiator plumbing was super proactive in her communication with me and was able to send out a crew the following day to provide an estimate. Cristobal the lead plumber ran a camera line and quickly found the issue and provided a confident solution in how they would approach a fix. He was super flexible as to the timing of when the work could get done. I had others that were scheduled to bid the project, so I met with some of them and took additional bids, but ultimately went with Gladiator as they were just the easiest to work with and gave me a confidence in their ability to resolve the issue quickly. Fast forward to today, they just finished the work and I was stunned by the precision that they dug a 4 foot hole to expose both the known issue as well as why past efforts to snake my external clean out were challenging. Throughout the process, they made sure to point to what they would be doing, what it would achieve and answer any questions I might have along the way. We had just painted our home and so I had taped off the exterior walls where the work would be done, but its notable that the crew also put down plastic and were super mindful of the fresh paint and took extra attention to keep the job site tidy. And once they completed, it is notable that they left it cleaner than they found it. I can recommend Gladiator without hesitation and will be calling on them for my future plumbing needs.
My landlord contacted Gladiator Plumbing to fix a bathroom sink leak. They came by a total of 3 times. They installed a new faucet to hopefully take care of the leak. After it was installed I saw it was still leaking shortly after he left. I contacted the installer to tell him it was still leaking. he came by again and said don’t put water on top of the bathroom faucet. He seemed annoyed to come back. I’m confused because it is impossible to avoid water on or around the faucet (handles or base). The installer said he couldn’t help me and that it was user error. What????? He recorded a video to send to the landlord showing it wasn’t leaking. He said I probably need a more expensive faucet that won’t leak. He said something that costs $500. I said I don’t need an expensive faucet nor do I know what they cost. I need a faucet that functions as it should. Once the installer sent his recorded test (poring water on the sides of the faucet) -the outcome—-all of few minutes later their was water on the baseboard of the bathroom sink. The installer ran out quickly because he didn’t want to fix the problem. I contacted gladiator to tell them I don’t want the same installer to come back to address the problem. Gladiator is claiming they completed the job. I said you didn’t fix the issue because the bathroom sink is still leaking. Gladiator claims they might need to do more and they need approval from my landlord to tell them what they want to do now. They are trying to get more money and dragging it out. It’s been a week. This is soo frustrating because they didn’t complete a simple job.
We have called on Gladiator plumbing before for smaller jobs in a condo. We are moving to a single-family home, and as luck would have it, the water mains suddenly started leaking and needed urgent attention so we had no water. Well, the first plumbing company we contacted said they needed to cut into our paver and gave a higher estimate and longer timeline. We remembered the “smaller jobs” Gladiator had done for us in our condo and decided to give them a try at our new place. Well, to our surprise and relief they came on-site right away and brainstormed the problem. Gladiator plumbing told us they would replace the water mains rather than just fix the leak. As a bonus, they even figured out how to access it Underground from a different location, thereby saving us a ton of $$ from breaking up our pavers and having to replace them, like was suggested. Their pricing seemed fair and reasonable. The scheduler got us scheduled in 2 days later. On the day of, we were not able to be on site with their crew, but they arrived on time and did an excellent job, taking pictures and updating us every step of the process as they moved really quickly to replace the water main. They graciously tested all the water faucets, and were done before the end of the day, leaving the place cleaned up like nothing ever happened. So now Gladiator ‘s are our go-to for all our plumbing needs - big and small. We have every confidence in them and going by their record with us, we highly recommend them - we're sure your experience with them will be just as positive!
Don't give your credit card to this company!!!! They are not honest! In my case, I got so scared that they might abuse my card that have to cancel my credit card that have been used on daily basis since 2019 Before they come out they quoted $250 per service call, no matter big job or small job. After the job is done, the plumber left and asked a girl from the office to call for payment of $350. Honestly, $350 for a Saturday call is not unreasonable. And Ron the plumber did get the job done. However, I just don't like to be told one price, and then another at the end of the job. I was there in the first hour, Ron never gave new quote. It is not about money, just don't feel good. The girl who is responsible for calling for payment appologized for the miscommunication and agreed to accept $300, and asked me for the credit card info. With her promise, I told her my my credit card info over the phone. Within minutes, I got email invoice with a charge of $350. I called the girl asking why she betrayed my trust. She said the money has been charged and she will talk to boss on Monday. I deal with contractors in regular basis for years, and this is the first time in my life that a merchandise dare to abuse client's credit card. Now that they have my credit card in file, I am really concerned what they are going to do with the numbers. I got so scared that I called my credit card company to stop this card and reissue a new one. I have used this card on daily basis for years and never worried to give it over the phone to a merchandise.
David and his team have tenaciously helped me through the most hideous administrative quagmire I could have ever imagined. What I thought was a simple PSL compliance job turned into a nightmarish months-long shared sewer lateral drama, complete with difficult access points, absent neighbors, and confusing city codes. They have worked tirelessly to figure out this issue that I was ill-equipped to understand. One of the initial solutions was mushrooming into a 100K+ civil infrastructure job (which, not being a tech worker or developer, I do not possess), and we had to go back to square one and figure out new ideas, talk to the city again, months of work felt futile. I never thought I would cry on the phone with a plumber, but I can now check it off my list! David was respectful and understanding even then, and I'm grateful for it. This guy has climbed over fences and woken up early and spent hours on the phone with engineers and city employees to get a straight answer on this complex and unique situation. Because it is so complicated and potentially expensive, we have not even been able to start any work, I feel very much taken care of and respected in this search for a solution that can fit my budget. David has been steadfast in making sure we make this a smooth and relatively painless procedure when we find the right plan. Glimmers of hope are on the horizon, thanks to David and Gladiator Plumbing! Thank you for all your help!!!
found this establishment thru Yelp as a project request. I had a water heater that wasn't lighting up. They sent out Mike. He came out 3-4 times. At first to assess the problem. He initially that it was a valve problem. Then he went out to order the part. He came back a 2nd time to replace that. That didn't fix it. Then he said it was the control module. So he ordered that part. He returned a 3rd time and changed that out. Still no go. Then it was the spark wire . Finally after replacing that, we have hot water. Now I'm no mech engineer but multiple points of failure in a single instrument is pretty unusual. Water heaters don't have a lotta moving mechanisms like a car. Electronics don't typically "wear out" at multiple points. Look at your computer or iPad for example. Heating elements sure. Ignition coils, ok. Valve failure, why not. So either I'm really unlucky. Or the diagnostic prowess here is...ahem. He prefaced the entire experience as "it's going to be a process." As if to set up the expectation that there was going to be a multi-step trial and error process. One can't help but feel like this was going to be a pricey ordeal. So after ~3 weeks and $2000+, the hot water was flowing again. It's a commercial sized water heater btw. So I'm satisfied it's working again. But things that you go "hmmm...?"
This company ran some copper piping and installed vent pipes through my roof for my remodel back in August. They did a good job and in a timely manner. However 4 days ago I noticed a leak in my kitchen ceiling. When I go to the attic I see that it is leaking from the vent pipe they installed through my roof. When I get to the roof I see that they never sealed the holes that they made in my roof. I patched the holes myself in about 15 minutes. The water that seeped through ruined my newly painted ceiling in my kitchen. I’ve been calling them since Saturday and looks like they are giving me the runaround. Nobody seems to be able to pick up the phone and call me back to take care of this issue. First they said they’d call me on Monday, but didn’t. So I called them and they then said they’d call on Tuesday (today), but still no call. Now I’m being told that the manager might be sick all week. Stay tuned… It’s now Wednesday night and though they said they were going to have a painting company reach out to me, I haven’t heard anything. If this isn’t taken care of soon I’ll do it myself and their rating will be reduced to 1 star. *************UPDATE************* I should have posted this sooner but Gladiator fixed the damage within a week. They had a very nice and hardworking painter come in and fix everything and it looks good as new!!
I called and was directed to Victor's cell phone since the girl who answered told me he is the owner and I should contact him for the job. I was looking for a quote. Victor made an appointment with me to come out to look at my property, at 9am the next day. No show, then I called him and his voicemail was full and of course can't leave a message. Very unprofessional signs already. So I texted him and asked if he was still coming by as it is now 9:40...he texted back and said he was on his way. At 10:00am no show still, I called him and he answer. He said he was very sorry that he came home late last night blah blah blah and asked to reschedule. Ok, how is this my fault that you went out late last night. So I try to be understanding and made another appointment with him he insisted first thing in the morning he would come by so the appointment is rescheduled again for 8am. It is now 9:08 and yet still no show, call or Text. Mind you this job I am offering for him to bid on is Not a few hundred dollar job. We are talking about Thousands! For him as an owner to show this type of work ethics and not even respecting people's time really reflects how this company operates and its integrity towards their customers. I wouldn't recommend this plumbing company or do business with Victor who is so flakey and unprofessional.
