What reviewers report — the concerns
Other directories bury these. We think you should read them before you call. Every concern below comes from the reviews it cites.
Red flag
Unlicensed technician dispatched for toilet flange reset — tech admitted company hired him pre-license to complete training hours; review also cites ~$100 dispatch charge before any work begins.
“The technician was not licensed. I'm unsure how many of Buckeye's technicians do not carry a license, but ours admitted Buckeye only hired him for cheap to complete his training hours prior to becoming licensed. Like many other service businesses, Buckeye charges about a $100 dispatch charge simply for the technician to show up.”
Red flag
surprise_fees in 3 of 100 reviews; 1 review documents unauthorized recurring membership charge with no way to reach anyone to cancel.
“They signed me up for some kind of membership which I didn't agree to. Every time I call I'm unable to get through to anyone. This place is a scam- charging me some recurring fee for something I said I did not want.”
Red flag
poor_workmanship in 4 of 100 reviews; 1 star review confirms wrong horsepower blower installed causing 6 months of inefficient operation and circuit board failure.
“After replacing the thermostat twice, another company came out last week and identified that Buckeye had put in a 1/3 horsepower blower instead of a 3/4 hp, and put in a wheel that was 4" too small. It's been running inefficiently for 6 months, and caused the circuit board to blow.”
expensive theme in 13 of 100 analyzed reviews; ~$100 dispatch charge noted on top of labor; pricing complaints across multiple reviewed quotes.

The evidence — in reviewers' own words
Critical
“I am writing because Buckeye Heating and Cooling declined to repair my air conditioner during a service call because the work required was not in the service techs purview. Buckeye has insisted that there needs to be 3 service calls to fix my air conditioner. My contention is they are over billing me. Also, they have not provided information about services performed plus there is no vehicle to complain. This is …”
“Want to provide my experience with Buckeye so the next potential customer isn't caught off guard: While I don't doubt the technical skill of the technician dispatched to our house to replace a toilet flange and subsequent reset, I have some issues with Buckeye's business model. 1. The technician was not licensed. I'm unsure how many of Buckeye's technicians do not carry a license, but ours admitted Buckeye only …”
“Here is a copy of my Google review: Two main takeaways from this company: 1. They are NOT authorized Carrier installers. I found out the hard way after the job was completed and Buckeye Heating refused to correct their deficiencies (see number 2) that companies can purchase advertising spots on Carrier's website and can purchase equipment. They are not, however, authorized to actually install the equipment. That …”
Positive
“Joey and Matthew did an excellent job cleaning our ducts. The previous owners did a remodel and used the ducts as a garbage can. They could have cut corners but didn't. End-to-end this was a great service experience. We definitely recommend Buckeye Heating & Cooling.”
“I had the pleasure of meeting TJ after we briefly spoke on the phone. Later that evening, he was able to arrive within an hour and took the time to help me through the crisis I was experiencing. He quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed my furnace, and got my heat working again! He was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. I truly appreciate his prompt response and excellent service.”
