What reviewers report — the concerns
Other directories bury these. We think you should read them before you call. Every concern below comes from the reviews it cites.
Red flag
$185/hr billing starts from shop departure (not job site); $150 consultation charge; warranty repair requested by 3 separate plumbers never fulfilled by the company
“Charging over $150 for a consultation is insane. Office workers are rude. She said her husband would call me, he never did. This place will suck the money from you and pad their own pockets.”

Red flag

“These people are extremely unprofessional, they ghost out and never return calls. I had to call them MANY TIMES just to get the same answer “ Libby will call you back asap.””

“We were charged $225 for the faucet itself; that faucet sells for $158.52. We were charged $32 for supply lines that should have cost $15.”
Parts marked up 40-100% above retail: faucet billed at $225 (retail $158.52) and supply lines at $32 (retail ~$15) per a charitable organization review

Office communication failures: ghosting after pricing discussion, unreturned calls despite multiple follow-ups, and $150 consultation fee before any work begins

The evidence — in reviewers' own words
Critical
“The woman on the phone has a horrible attitude and is not customer friendly.. I scheduled to have some one come out at 10am on Feb 18. After finding out that's it's 185hr and the time starts when they leave there shop. I told them to wait until 3pm because I was in contact with someone with a flat rate fee. She insisted on making a appointment for the next day and told me she would call before they came out.. I got …”
“Neighborhood ordinances and zoning laws are typically nuisances that protect the interests of the few at the expense of the greater good. However, I would strongly support banning the use of septic tank trucks from ever being permitted to idle within residential areas. The sewage smell from this business's septic trucks is an insulting way to start every morning in Boulevard. Please, take your trucks elsewhere.”
“After getting a quote from them we decided to go with them even though their price was the highest but we needed the service quick. These people are extremely unprofessional, they ghost out and never return calls. I had to call them MANY TIMES just to get the same answer “ Libby will call you back asap.” I finally got to the bottom of the problem and it was because they “didn’t have a good feeling about the payment …”
Positive
“First let me say I have ABSOLUTLY NO affiliation with Athens Plumbing other than being a costumer. I manage several commercial industrial properties. I have used Athens Plumbing services over 100 times and ALWAYS had quality professional service. They are on time and very knowledgeable. All of their staff from scheduling to billing to service and repairs have always been very courteous and helpful. I highly …”

He is kind, smart, experienced, knowledgeable, available, and tries his best to help in anyway he can. He is happy to explain the problem, is straightforward and honest, and is willing to go above and beyond to be helpful. He is …”
