I noticed I had water leaking out of my pressure valve drain line Thursday night. Westside was out Friday morning to address the problem, and had a new water heater installed that afternoon. Appreciate the prompt and professional service, and will continue to use them for future needs. Thank you, and prayers for your technicians' safety over the next week as we deal with sub-freezing temps....
Called Westside Plumbing to come out and replace my hotwater heater and garbage disposal. The crew did an awesome job! Very dependable, fast and courteous. Would recommend this company for any plumbing issues.
Extremely nice and knowledgeable. Matt fixed my problems and made me his first call when I contacted them this morning. I will use Westside Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. Highly recommend Westside Plumbing.
Plumber diagnosed the problem with hot water heater, but wasn't interested in the repair due to it being up on a pedestal. Stated that AHS would not cover and would take a long time for them to contact him back. I attempted to contact AHS myself while still here, immediately left once he knew I was trying to contact them, (ran out like house was on fire). Contacted AHS and they reported Westside had reported no problem with Hot water heater, just glad I kept my receipt stating that a deteriorating dip tube was causing my hot water flow.
I have a home warranty and this company was sent through them for a clogged toilet and shower line. The tech arrived on time. I showed him the problem. He immediately said he had to go through the roof vent and it would cost $350. When I mentioned it was a warranty call, I was told they only cover ground level drains. Not sure why its $350 to climb a ladder on a 1 story house. After resigning myself that it was gonna cost another $350, I agreed and he spent 20 minutes on the roof. He came down and said he needed to get a different snake and he would have to return as he was unsuccessful in clearing the clog. I asked about going in through the shower drain and was told that would not work. He left and I was told his office would call back to reschedule. They didn't and after waiting till the next day, a Thursday, I called and I was told they could not come back till Monday. Not wanting to wait 4 more days I decided to try the shower drain myself. 5 minutes and a $12 snake and problem fixed. I kick myself for not trying first but I learned my lesson. Not sure why tech did not want to try the route I took. I can only imagine it was the extra $350 that was going to line their pockets. I will not be using this company again.
Avoid this Company! They will try and rip you off. If American Home shield sends them, call AHS and ask for a different company. My Water heater tank blew on 5/1/14. It was simple to determine that the tank ruptured near the middle (I am an Engineer). I have a home warranty with American Home Shield (AHS). So I contacted them on 5/2/14 to arrange for a repair. AHS contracted with WestSide plumbing to make a service call. Westside arrived late in the day on 5/2/14. The charged me the $125 service call that is part of my AHS contract to determine what I already knew, the tank was ruptured. They told my Wife that they will contact AHS and clear the warranty repair and let us know if there would be any further charges. My Water heater is electric and was less than 3 years old. There was a parts warranty still active and it was a GE model made by Rheem. The water lines were Plex and again less than three years old since the house was built by us. By the end of the day on 5/6/14 I had heard nothing from Westside Plumbing or AHS. So I called both. Westside told me that their plumber had yet to report in on the issue. That was the start of the problems. It should not take 3 days for a plumber to report back into the office to help a customer with a repair. While I waited, I verified with AHS what my warranty covered. It covered the cost of the replacement water heater, the disposal of the old water heater, the electrical labor to remove the old and hook up the new water heater, and the plumbing labor to remove the old water lines and hook up the new water lines to the water heater. About 30 minutes later Westside called me. They told me that while their labor costs were covered by AHS there would be an additional $350 charge to hook up the Plex water lines. I told them to explain why that was necessary because AHS told me that plumbing labor was covered by their warranty. The Plumber could not give me an explanation beyond it is "Company policy" so he told me his boss would call me. I then contacted AHS to complain. They told me that they can only go by what the plumber told them and the plumber said additional customized plumbing was required so that would not be covered by the warranty. To be clear this is literally removing two plex lines and hook them into the new water heater. There is plenty of slack in the lines. No customization was necessary and certainly not $350 worth. AHS understood that I was upset and told me I could hire my own plumber and they would reimburse me. The next day the Westside plumber boss called me and told me the same thing, company policy is to charge $350 extra to hook up the plex water lines. I told him that I felt he was running a scam, that I would not be using him for this service, and that I wanted my $125 service call fee refunded. He said he would not refund. I then I told him I would file a BBB against his company. He wished me the best of luck with that. I then hired a local plumber and they did the water heater replacement the same day and charged me less than $350 in labor. In addition, AHS is in the process of reimbursing me for the entire labor amount. In addition, Westside plumbing never told AHS that the water heater was under parts warranty which means they were going to pocket the prorated refund of $255.37. I know this because AHS told me they were not aware the water heater was under warranty and GE told me that the replacement had already been approved when the plumber called them with the serial numbers. Avoid Westside plumbing. They are attempting to Scam customers and AHS by exploiting loopholes in the AHS service contracts. I do not blame AHS. They are only going by what the plumbers tell them.
Their technician Matt is the only person they send out to Granbury , 2 years ago I put in a service call for a leak and a stoppage . Matt was who showed up . He couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from and I'm not so mad about that but when I asked him to snake the line going to my kitchen he refused . He was also very inappropriate and unprofessional when he started telling me " you sure are pretty " " I don't see a wedding ring on that finger " " how long have you been single " then started asking me how long I've been at my job , how long have I lived in my home , how long have I had my boat , how long have I had my truck , am I dating anyone . He never did unstop the blockage and I've lived two years with a slow drain . I hosted Thanksgiving that year in 2021 and it was hard because I had to use tubs in my kitchen sink to catch the water . If he had just snaked the main line to kitchen I wouldn't be here posting this today . I had a family friend fix the leak . Today I put in a service request for the same stoppage and they want to send Matt back out . They say they don't have another technician to send and when I told them 2 years ago what happened it landed on deaf ears . I do not recommend West Side Plumbing for the fact of their shady techs and when you report a problem they don't listen . Matt is a lazy plumber and lies to his superiors and to AHS American Home Shield about the findings . They get paid by AHS for just showing up . Matt wanted me to contact my homeowners policy to come out and take brick off the side of my house when he never even snaked the line to rule out a blockage . They are greedy , don't want to work or use critical thinking skills and do not care about the customer , terrible customer service with the lady who answers the phone . If you have AHS you can have westside plumbing removed from the list of vendors and request a different company . Anyone is better than them ! Joe blow from the corner can do better than this ! Update : AHS finally sent a different company out to deal with my stoppage and that tech was very professional and caring . He wasn't going to leave until the clog was gone . He snaked the main line to the kitchen like I had asked Matt with West Side Plumbing to do , but he refused , and this guy hit a clump of roots and cleared the clog ! Hallelujah! I suffered 2 years of a slow draining kitchen sink because Matt refused to snake the line . He was so inappropriate during that service call ! He also told me that my garbage disposal was leaking under my sink but it wasn't . The fitting to the drain on the opposite side needed tightened. Matt didn't even try to resolve the situation. He just made a bunch of inappropriate comments and asked a lot of personal questions. The thing I want to emphasize here is , I had an idea of where the clog was based on how long the water ran before it backed up . I may be a female but I'm not a dumb woman and that clog was where I told Matt it was . Lawrence with Sewer Medic came out in the rain and was out there on his knees in the mud without a rain coat and worked that snake through the main line until the problem was resolved . Call Sewer Medic , they care about you .
I was doing a load of laundry on Saturday and our shower and tub backed up with water. I contacted our home warranty company, American Home Shield, and they approved Westside Plumbing. Since Monday was a holiday, I was grateful they called first thing that morning and said they would be out between 9:30 and noon. The plumber was there around 9:30. He took a quick look in the bathrooms after I explained what happened over the weekend and said it could be a septic issue. So he looked at our septic tanks and told me they were full and needed to be pumped. My invoice says, "holding tank are full of waste- need to be pumped out". He told me we only had inches before the tank was full. I paid my $75 service fee and he left. Of course, I called around for septic pumping companies and scheduled one for that afternoon. When the septic tech arrived, he looked in the septic tank then into two smaller pipes in the ground. Come to find out, those are the main drain lines from the house. The septic tech then asked to use my garden hose and wiggled it into the drain and turned on the water and told me my problem was fixed. There was a blockage in the main drain line from the house and the plumber didn't even look at it! It took the septic tech less than 20 seconds to fix (even though that wasn't even his job). Our septic tank is nowhere near full and this plumber (I believe his name is Terrell) is either incompetent or lazy. I left a message for the owner of Westside Plumbing on Monday explaining the situation and asking for a return call. It's Friday and I still haven't heard from anyone. But they did deposit my check on Wednesday. AHS is refunding my $75, but I'm still out the $135 I paid for the septic call that the plumber told me was urgent since my septic tank was inches from overflowing. I'm so disappointed in Westside Plumbing. I understand mistakes happen, but a phone call and an apology would have been nice. If you have a contract with American Home Shield, know that you can ask for another contractor if they assign one that, say, has bad reviews for American Home Shield customers on Yelp. I very highly recommend choosing a different plumbing company. Update: After receiving notifications of my negative reviews, the owner did call and apologize and said he never received my voicemail or he would have contacted me sooner. He did try to remedy the situation and I appreciate that. I've upgraded from 1 star to 3.
DISOPOINTING! I did not choose this company American Home Shield did. They came out to service a sump pump in Sept and again in Feb. During Feb visit the pump was 100% dead. I called in the request on Thursday morning and they could not come out till Monday. The tech showed and said it was the wall outlet even though the pump cover was broken off UNDER WATER with exposed wires and a second pump was plugged into the same outlet with no issues. He requested an electrician come out. Electrician scheduled immediately and was on his way so I called Westside back and asked the secretary if she could put me on the schedule for the following day because the electrician was on his way, rain was scheduled for next night and I didn't want my basement to flood. She was extremely rude stating she could not. I was not the politest back and told her "great so now I will have to wait another 4 days for service??" I asked to speak to the manage and she said it was her and after a few more words she hung up on me. The next day their tech calls me and asks for the pump model number. I text him pictures and two days later I have not heard back from them. I called and asked for the owner to call me back as I was getting no response from the tech or secretary. I never received a call from him. An hour later I get an email from American Home Shield stating Westside CANCELED the request because "THEY DO NOT SERVICE SUMP PUMPS" and my request was given to another company. I know we all have bad days but they gave me and themselves a bad week. How can a company except my two different Service Requests that I paid $75 each for, show up and preform a service, schedule an electrician, ask me for part numbers, tell me it is covered buy AHS and then CANCEL stating they do not work on Sump Pumps? Either I got scammed or they are scamming AHS. I cannot recommend Westside. Oh, rain was coming so I went to Lowe's and bought the pump and fittings myself for a total of $130 and with no plumbing experience I replaced the pump brand new in just about 1.5 hours.

I'm real estate agent and the buying agents and buyer had Westside plumbing out doing a hydrostatic test. I know plumbers. I've lived in this area for 55 years and the only thing I know about Westside plumbing is I was walking my dog and a Westside plumbing tech off Chapin Road comes bursting out of his house, telling me to pick up my dog crap because he saw my dog scratching and I said he didn't poop. He's just scratching and of course he said get off my property and I said I'm on the sidewalk. It's public property and then I said you're a great ambassador for Westside plumbing since your truck is right across the street. Today I called the technician that did the hydrostatic test for a house I have listed. I ask him some questions how he did it and he responded I filled up the lines with water and it went down. Well where did you start? What part did you monitor because you usually monitor the last toilet in the house so he got all huffy and puffy. So I guess that's the way technicians communicate with the consumer, you would think you would be a better communicator when you're wanting a customer to spend $48,000 to replumb your house
If I could add more stars to the exceptional service I received from Westside Plumbing, I'd do it in a heartbeat! The owner Matt Paetzold and his phenomenal team turned what I saw as a total nightmare (sewage backup) into a stress free experience. If anyone has ever been through a plumbing emergency, you know the feeling of how vulnerable you feel with so many companies waiting to take advantage of the situation. Not Westside Plumbing... I immediately knew I was in the best and trusted hands after talking to Matt. He sent out Shaun and Kenny, who I cannot rave enough about, to assess what happened and get to the cause. Shaun and Kenny were not only super polite, as well as prompt, but extremely knowledgeable and professional... A rarity these days. They took the time to show me exactly where the problem was, without rushing to get in and out, and explained what they would need to do to get it fixed, even allowing a couple of options. Long story short... Plumbing issue is fixed and what a great feeling to know that if I ever need anything again, I have Westside to save the day!
Stay away from this Company. I agree with the other review. They charged me $75.00 to tell me what I already told them. I had called the Water district because I had water coming out of the ground next to my grinder tank. I left three to four messages over a three week period to Westside Plumbing and never got a call back. They finally responded after I said I was going to the better Business Bureau. Thier response was we are really busy. I then got a estimate from this company for $1,000 and they never even dug down three feet in the ground to check where the leak was. They said they went out there but never touched the ground or dug a little to check where the leak was. He said it might be cracked PVC pipe. That is what the water department told me. They are not sure but quoted $1,000. They are not professional and $1,000 to replace a piece of PVC. Please stay away from this company. I also got their number from American Home Shield. One star is way to much for this company!!!!!
I purchased a water softener system and needed to have it installed. I had 3 companies come out and give me estimates. All three after going into the attic to see how the water was routed into the house gave me an estimate and explained how they were going to do it. Terrill from Westside Plumbing was the only one who also asked me for permission to open the boxes so he could see exactly what would be required. All three estimates were in the same ballpark, but I went with Terrill from Westside Plumbing, because of that extra time he took. When the installation date arrived, he and a coworker arrived on time and had the system working when they left, but also said he wanted to return the next day do a few more things which he did. Terrill and his assistant were pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. The job cost was reasonable. Highly recommend Westside Plumbing.
Update: Matt (the owner) reached out to me and ended up giving me a full refund. We had a good conversation and I appreciated him wanting to make things right. I've updated the rating to reflect this. Previous post: Be forewarned about their " no service call fee" they showed up, lit pilot light, said if it goes out I need a new water heater, charged my wife $159 and left. I got home, pilot was off and water was cold. I called and got them back out. They lit it again and immediately left. It was out before they got down the street. I called these people to come repair my water heater. They didn't seem too interested in fixing it, but had no issues with charging us $159 to push a button which i had done repeatedly before deciding to call the "professionals" to help us out . Just wanted everyone else to be aware of this so they don't make the same mistake we did.
