Very good people helped us when we needed plumbing done on one of our septic jobs. They were a huge help and a great price. Definitely some good folks was impressed!
Jimmy earned thanks for after-hours water restoration. Jamie returned completing everything thoroughly. Excellent performance. Dependable experts. Prompt. Communicative. And genuinely nice.
For plumbing services where Summers Plumbing operates, nowhere else needed. Professional excellence at reasonable rates with outstanding customer support. My son's toilet wouldn't stop running until Don diagnosed the problem and Jimmy replaced parts immediately!
Called because the fitting to my bathroom sink, which they installed was leaking, was at total a 30 minute job. They have been my plumbers for 20 years, but the pricing has gotten out of control. 283.00 dollars was way too much.
Terrible experience do not recommend!
Long story short, if you need your septic tank pumped, look elsewhere. This company charges an unfair rate. Simply Septic is a much better and reasonably priced company. Continue reading if you want explanations…I had an urgent need for my septic tank to be pumped, so I contacted Summers Plumbing because they seemed like a reputable company. They came out the same day, which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. After spending little time or effort trying to excavate the lid for my tank, the 2 employees stated the ground was too hard and they would need to go and get a tractor, which would be an extra charge ($300+). I told them that if they told me where to dig, I’d be happy to dig it up myself. They weren’t exactly sure where to dig, so I agreed that the tractor would be best, as it was now after noon and I was anxious to have use of my inside plumbing. Once they returned with their tractor, they found the lid, but damaged the power supply for my pump, in the process. After removing the lid and pumping the first tank, their truck was full and they stated they would need to dump in the morning and return to pump the second tank. The next morning I received a call from the office stating that the Oconee treatment plant was at capacity for the day and they would need to dump at the Clarke County facility, which would be an additional $300 for me. Once they arrived, they excavated the second tank and pumped it out. Backfilled and left. Since they had hit the power supply to the pump, they checked to make sure the pump was working. I was standing with the employee while he checked it, he said he heard it come on, but I did not. I monitored the pump over the next week and sure enough it wasn’t working. They did come back out and manage to get it going, but it was only temporary and the breaker feeding the pump would trip every time it rained. I finally had to dig up the power supply and replace it. When I dug it up I found where they had broken the conduit (picture below) which was allowing moisture to come inside and short out the connections. After replacing the conduit and wiring I contacted another septic company to come and check everything out. In talking with them, is when I realized I had been taken advantage of by Summers Plumbing. They could not believe the amount I paid to have my tank pumped and the fact that they pumped my second tank because there is no need, being that it’s just liquid in that tank. They also could not believe that they had to retrieve the tractor, much less charged me for them to use it. I contacted Summers Plumbing regarding this. Chris called me back and I was unable to answer. He left a lengthy message that got cut off and did not satisfy I my complaints. I haven’t been able to get in touch with him since. I would not recommend this company unless you enjoy throwing money away. Reply to owners reply: you sending your employees over did not fix the issue that you caused, they simply put a “band-aid” on it. I fixed the issue by replacing the conduit and wire that you broke (the attached photo is after your “fix”). So saying you paid to have it fixed is misleading. Further more, had you called me back you would realize that the second tank you pumped does not house the pump or the float, that is located in a third tank (pump tank). That third tank was not pumped out. So, again, that is why I feel taken advantage of because your whole reasoning for pumping the second tank is to inspect the pump and float - which isn’t housed in that tank. Additionally, what does an inspection of the the pump and float consist of? If it’s working correctly, you wouldn’t need to pump that tank, the pump does that. I’m not looking for the cheapest company, just an honest one. Had you not pumped my second tank, I wouldn’t have had to pay the dump fee for Clarke county or the additional fee for the second tank. Yes, I agreed to your price, because I was ignorant and didn’t have the luxury of time. Now that I know better, I’d like to help others make a more informed decision before choosing your company.
I would give them 10 stars if I could! I chose them because they are a local company and had good reviews. I called and explained my problem to someone I believe was named Brittany. She was SO friendly and pleasant and told me someone would return my call to schedule. Just a short time later, I got a call from Morgan, also very friendly and sweet. Jamie and Ethan arrived right on time. They were courteous, friendly, and very professional. They went to work installing a new hot water heater and repairing a shower. Both jobs were more complicated than expected. It just so happened that my newly sold home was being inspected while they were here. The inspector came in and said that he had found that a second water heater under the house was leaking. That was understatement! Jamie went under the house and checked it for me. He said the whole thing “was shot” and that it was an expensive issue. He called the office to check scheduling and said they could stay and install the 2nd hot water heater. What seemed like a job that would take a couple of hours turned into literally a whole day. At the end of the day, I had 2 new hot water heaters and a repaired shower with a new lever. To be honest, I was dreading the total bill. No matter...they were necessary repairs and I knew the work had been done well. Jamie brought my paperwork and I shocked! Wow! I was treated more than fairly. I was not even charged for some of the unexpected issues! I couldn’t believe it. It’s not often a person is shocked because a bill is so much lower than expected! I ended the day with another phone call with Morgan, who may be the most pleasant person I’ve ever spoken with on the phone. I will NEVER call another plumbing company! I am beyond pleased and I will be recommending them to all my friends and neighbors.
I highly recommend Summers Plumbing. This was my first time needing a plumber and did not know what to expect. We were having issues with our 14 year old water heater and I felt it was time to replace it. I called there office at 9:30 in the morning and spoke to Morgan. She was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of my questions. I asked if she could give me an estimate to replace the water heater and she said no problem, she would be happy to. She asked me a few questions and to send her a picture of my old water heater. Within an hour Morgan called me back with my estimate. The price was much less than the big box store I had contacted earlier. I agreed to have Summers Plumbing install the new water heater. Morgan arranged for two technicians, Jamie and Don, to come to my house that morning to do the work. Both Jamie and Don were very professional and had my new water heater installed in short order. I am extreamly happy with Summers Plumbing. I called at 9:30 and and the job was completed by 1:30. Great customer service. I will call them again if I need a plumber. I forgot to mention that Morgan called my back a few days later to make sure everything was working OK and that I was satisfied.
My main water line was ruptured and I had to turn off my water to the whole house. I called summer plumbing Monday night and arranged for someone to come out Tuesday morning to look in the problem. The technician came Tuesday morning and looked at the line and digging a hole by the main meter. We found a yellow jacket nest and the technician wanted to come back later after lunch when the nest was removed. I was charged 360 dollars for 1 hour and nothing was solved. I had the nest removed and called back at 11:30 am. I received this message about comes back l: “The technicians have a full schedule the remainder of today. We can either have a tech out after his appointments which would be an after hours call at emergency rates. Or I can schedule to have him out to you first appointment Thursday morning.” OT would be another 750 dollars and I was given no solution if I would have water. I was told if we could not find the leak spot you would need to spend another 4500 on a new water line. At this point I was not going to spend 6k for a new line. I was told the 360 I spent that morning was to come back this afternoon. I went with another pulmping company.
I had an AMAZING experience with Summers Plumbing! I can't remember the names of the 2 plumbers who worked on the leak in my apartment, but they were absolutely incredible! They had to come by 2 different days, and each time they were very professional, kind, and considerate. They also told great stories and it was fun just getting to hang out with them while they worked! My roommate and I are young female college students, but we never felt uncomfortable being alone with the two male plumbers. They were so considerate with cleaning up after themselves and leaving the place even cleaner than they found it! And they seemed VERY knowledgable and talented at what they do! Through the phone Morgan always worked with our schedules and let us know when the plumbers were coming by. She was so kind and very communicative, which was helpful while navigating class times with the plumbers coming. All in all, I didn't realize you could have such a positive experience with a plumbing company, but I will absolutely use Summers for the rest of my time in Athens, and I will urge all of my friends to do the same!
I truly believe that I was overcharged for a simple installation of a new sink garbage disposal that I supplied myself. I was charged $340.00 to install a $179.00 unit which took their technician only 20 minutes. I was extremely upset when told how much the service call was, but paid the technician immediately by credit card before he left. An hour later I received an email from their billing dept. stating that my credit card refused payment and they were asked to confiscate my card by my credit card company. I got an email just before theirs from my credit card company stating that the expiration date and three digit code which their technician entered into his electronic card processor didn’t match my card. I called my credit card company immediately and they said that they never asked to have my card confiscated. I have an excellent credit rating and have never not paid any obligation due. This has been a horrible experience that I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through.
My kitchen faucet, which I installed myself 10 years ago, suddenly began having problems with low pressure (all other fixtures in the house had good pressure). Having used Summers Plumbing before to connect the house to county water), I called them for help. After having spent much of my life in construction and home repair, I no longer am able to crawl on the floor and under a sink. I was able to secure an appointment the following morning for Summers Plumbing to bring a new faucet and replace my old one. Two plumbers (Sam and Don) arrived on time and within an hour had replaced my faucet. They were very thorough, cleaning the top of the sink before installing the new faucet, fixing a leak in the shut-off valve, being sure that the sink drains were not leaking, and cleaning up all trash. I will not hesitate to call Summers for any future plumbing needs.
Very professional service! But, way too pricy! Simple faucet replacement cost $600. I found out later from a friend that this is way too much. Plumber could not tell me the price; he had to call in to the office. He told me the sprayer was causing the problem but it would be the same price to replace the entire faucet!! The final bill was not itemized. Plumber could not tell me how much the faucet cost, but it had to come from Summers' Plumbing distributers. Something is going on with this company and their pricing. They are not forthcoming about it at all. When I initially called them I thought I was calling Carson Plumbing, which my friend recommended. I should have hung up and redialed when I reached Summers' Plumbing instead.
I paid 260.00 for this company to come out and diagnose a water heater issue. I was told by the young plumbers that it would be between 850-950 dollars to repair. I said ok, Please give me a written estimate with charges, parts, labor etc.. and I will discuss with my husband when he gets home. They said the office will email it. I never received anything. I emailed and requested again, no response. Obviously any legit company has no problem putting in writing the work they will be doing. It was a leak so I felt it was an urgent concern, although I knew the price was way out of line. Will I call again never, BUT let me say the young kids they sent over were nice as can be, not their fault who they work for.
First let me state that Morgan is one of the most professional customer service reps that I have encountered in the longest time. She was very sweet and answered all of my questions. I got an appointment to have someone come out to my house within 2 days and they even arrived early. Morgan called that morning to confirm the appointment and then asked if they could come early. The two technicians arrived early and were extremely nice. They were in and out within an hour and taught me some tricks about a garbage disposal that I never knew. They cleaned up after themselves and answered any questions that I have. I would not hesitate to use them again for any plumbing needs that I might have in the future.
