Josh and his team are exceptional plumbers. They completed two major projects for us on our newly purchased home: installing a sewer lateral and running a new water and sewage line to our garage. Both jobs were substantial in scope, yet Josh and his team were able to complete each in a single day. From the initial estimate through installation and final cleanup, Josh and his team were consistently communicative, friendly, and professional. They took the time to explain the scope of work and how exactly they were going to complete it. The final products (new sewer later, new water lines, new sewage lines) work perfectly with no issues. The pricing was very affordable for the amount of work completed. We are extremely pleased with the results and will absolutely be repeat customers. Josh is an excellent plumber, and we highly recommend him and his team to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality plumbing work.

Both my neighbor and I live in a 2 unit duplex cottage built in 1924. The pipes were super old galvanized steel pipes and water pressure was horrible due to the many decades of built up sediment. Josh and his team came and replaced ALL the pipes with copper pipes, all the way to the street water line. Water pressure has significantly improved. Josh is great and a has an amazing crew. Josh checked in a day or so later just to make sure everything was working properly. He will keep you posted on progress or any issues that pop up. Very professional and thorough. We had Alex from Star Rooter & Plumbing come out and give us a free estimate. He and his team are the ONLY ones that had someone go all the way into the crawlspace and inspect the drain and pipes completely. And that was the FREE estimate. (We’ve had a few other companies out and most didn’t even peek into the crawlspace.) He also offered to send a camera down our clay pipe for free to assess any damage from our house all the way to the street. The inspection for our estimate was very thorough and included all of the issues I brought to his attention. Alex was patient and listened as I described the issues in my laymen’s terms. And was able to educate and suggest respectfully and in a way I understood. He gave us wonderful advice for our older home, wasn’t pushy about his plan but truly listened to our needs and hopes. The estimate was reasonable and fully encompassed our multifaceted project. He and the team helped reroute our dishwasher shut off valve, and was very careful with our cabinets and placed it with minimal upset to the cabinet’s function. The team replaced the entire cast iron drain from the kitchen to the bathrooms with new ABS pipe. And the team was able to adjust and fix the “stack” in the garage that fed and drained the washing machine and garage sink. They were kind enough to help me install a new sink and faucet so my garage set up is much more functional and looks amazing! I highly recommend Star Rooter and Plumbing. Sewer lateral replacement- had some issues immediately after this work was performed. Old pipes couldn’t take the movement, jarring work to complete. No sympathy from Star Rooter, no negotiations allowed, $5800 over estimate - Joe upset that we would even ask for consideration on price- bummer! Had to ask for return to leave worksite clean. Made to feel like we were fortunate Joe would return as it wasn’t his crew who left it like this? Have warranty service on labor but at what level of customer service?

This company almost ran over my children in front of an elementary school at school drop off They ran a stop sign and almost hit my child. Do not do business with them because they are negligent and show a want and disregard for human life.

So the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend is the absolute best time to have a plumbing emergency, am I right? After using the hose bib at the front of my house, the darn thing wouldn’t shut off. The main water valve shutoff didn’t work either, or so I thought. The water just kept trickling out. I thought I was in for a major, major repair. I reached out to several emergency plumbers in my area to no avail, and was getting very frustrated. Fortunately Star Rooter came through, and even better, I got Josh! He patiently explained that the main water valve shutoff was fine, it just took time for all the water to drain out of the house. That’s why the water didn’t stop. He quickly switched out the hose bib that was malfunctioning. And bonus education, he said when turning the valve back on, to do it slowly. I’m so happy that my plumbing emergency turned out to not be so serious. Just me demonstrating a serious lack of plumbing knowledge which was also repaired by Josh. Fred and his team did an amazing job replacing our Private Sewer Lateral (PSL) in Oakland. We got quotes from several competing companies including Pipe Spy and LS Construction, Star Rooter's was the fastest and most affordable and they had the best communication. Fred gracefully handled the process from start to finish and made sure our sewer line remained usable the entire time except the handful of hours on the day-of when they ripped the old line out. They estimated 2 days but managed to do the entire interior and exterior job in 1 day despite having to block off a busy street and dig over 8 feet down. They even got the final inspection with the city completed ahead of schedule too. The concrete job they did was also fantastic, both inside the garage and in the driveway: perfectly level and screeded properly to match the surrounding slope. We'll be sure to hire them for all our plumbing needs in the future!

I needed to repair my MIL's toilet flange and a piece of a pipe that was rusted for a new ADA toilet I bought her. I had gotten an estimate from another plumbing company for about $4k. That seemed high to me, and she is on a fixed income, so I wanted another quote. I called Julio at Star Rooter and he was able to give me a ballpark estimate of the repair after seeing some pictures I had of the issue. His cost was almost 1/3 of the previous estimate!! So, of course, I scheduled for Julio to come as soon as he could, which was the very next day. He looked at the issue, confirmed the price he had given me, and the project was completed in about 2 hours! After almost being "taken to the cleaners" to finding Julio, I am counting my blessings! If I could give Josh and his team six stars, I would! I noticed pretty late at night that there was a leaky hot water hookup in our new house. I called in the evening and talked to an actual human right away, and Josh came out the next morning. Turns out the pipes were corroded through the service line. They gave us a really reasonable quote to replace (no hard sell, left the decision up to us). Came out that week and replaced the entire line with a two-person crew in a matter of hours. They even lifted up the sod of my lawn to dig the trench and put it back in place afterward, then washed the sidewalks and entryway so it wasn't all muddy for us. It was one of the best home repair experiences I've had. 100% recommend you give this business a call!
