SMK Plumbing is top notch in Knoxville! When you are looking for somebody to quickly diagnose and repair plumbing and electric needs, you won’t be disappointed! We own several properties in the area and are delighted when SMK are on our problems, everything from small items, such as toilet fill valves to complete comprehensive long-term plumbing fixes, I can’t recommend SMK enough! Both Brandon and Daniel are awesome techs, and I look forward to continuing to do business with this company into the foreseeable future 😊

Cold weather brought an unexpected water line freeze to our home. Daniel from SMK was incredibly responsive and dedicated to restoring our water service. It took knowledge, patience, diligence and even coordination with a drilling crew to get the job done and he managed all very well. Daniel worked into the evening (even called in additional late evening help) just to make sure that we were completely taken care of. It is challenging to find talented, trusted and fair trades in today’s marketplace but SMK is all of that and more. We share our very positive experience and highly recommend SMK for any of your plumbing needs.

Daniel was punctual and very polite. He was very good listener when I was explaining the issue with my kitchen sink. He came very prepared and worked consistently. He was very thorough and he kept us abreast step by step of what was going on. He is a good communicator and again very impressed with his skills and diligence, to the point I will keep being an SMK Plumbing and Electric customer and give out referrrals

While working at home this afternoon, I was alarmed to discover the sink in my garage overflowing with a bubbling, fetid morass of the most putrid filth imaginable. As it happened, the waste water line for the house I recently moved into was gummed up with decades' worth of slowly accumulating sludge to the point where the flow was almost completely obstructed, effectively making it impossible to run any water in the house. I called SMK Plumbing & Electric in a panic and explained the situation. After initially telling me that no one would be available until the next day, which was understandable given the timing, the office staff made some adjustments and dispatched a technician to my house. Brandon showed up less than an hour later and had the issue resolved in about twenty minutes. He made a quick inspection, articulated the problem clearly, and provided a reasonable quote before getting started. He then performed a thorough snaking on the problematic line, working cleanly and efficiently to restore water use. While he was at it, he explained how some missteps with the plumbing installation and previous repairs had contributed to the blockage and gave me an additional quote for replacing the line for future reference. Again, this all happened within the span of about 90 minutes on a busy afternoon during the week of Christmas. While it's always a bummer to have issues like this pop up, I couldn't be more pleased with the service Brandon and SMK provided. Every homeowner needs good, professional servicepeople they can call on in a pinch, and SMK Plumbing & Electric will definitely fill that role for me going forward. Hire this company!

I see now why SMK has 5 star reviews! First off, Shaun replied very fast and had me on the schedule for the next morning and answered my questions. Secondly, Justin called to let me know he was on his way. Came in and got to work after answering more of my concerns and was the nicest guy with tons of knowledge. Although my issue turned into a larger issue (previous owner), Justin walked me through the process, answered even more questions, got me on the schedule for two days later to do the repair, and gave me a quote! Nobody likes to pay for these things, but when you need something fixed and you need an explanation why, when and how…..Justin and SMK have great customer service, knowledge and took the time to answer all of my concerns. I will only call them in the future and i will definitely let my neighbors, friends and family know about Justin and SMK!!!! Edit: Justin and Daniel arrived two days later and got straight to work. Informed me before, during and after the extensive work that needed to be done. They first covered the entire area in plastic to minimize the sheetrock dust & debris. Speaking of sheetrock. They made precise cuts with their gps location device to also minimize just tearing sheetrock out. And the cuts were straight enough to simply patch the areas myself. These guys went above and beyond what i expected and it’s now been a week since the work was finished and i’ve had zero issues and peace of mind! I highly recommend SMK as your first call not just for the job, but for excellent customer service!!!!

AMAZING COMPANY AND PEOPLE!! ASK FOR JUSTIN!! 1,000/10 EXPERIENCE. If you judge a company off its employees, Justin needs to be the face of that company. He was professional and fixed what was wrong the first time. No BS “well this could be replaced too” lines - just honesty and quality work. They called me back within minutes of me submitting a request through my home warranty company. This was my first sign this was going to be an easy experience. My shower in the master bedroom was leaking through the ceiling into our guest bedroom in the basement - Justin came out in a hurry like it was his own home leaking. After showing him where the leak was my first concern was that this “simple fix” was going to be a nightmare that led to 10 other things needing to be replaced. Nope. Justin reassured me that it wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought and he got to work stopping the leak then making repairs. Super respectful guy. I had my wife, mother and my two daughters at home (both under 2) and he was super polite to the women and mindful of the children around the home. SMK you’ve got my business for life, thank you Justin!!!

Best plumber ever! We had both supply and drain lines frozen from the 5 degree temperature. Shaun came on Saturday morning (Christmas Eve!!!) and worked through all kinds of obstacles to fix everything, including removing drywall, light fixtures, etc. to access the lines. Also unfroze a drain line from the water heater and pointed out the line was undersized for an exterior drain. Shaun gets 10 stars (5 is not enough) for responsiveness, quality of work, value of work, charging exactly what he estimated, and positive attitude. UPDATE (Sept 2024) - we returned Friday night from an out-of-town trip to find water coming out from under one of the garage doors. Long story short, our tankless water heater had to be replaced. Shaun came out on Saturday to assess what was needed, and Justin came early Sunday morning to install the new water heater. The final invoice was just under Shaun’s initial estimate. I just can’t say enough good things about both of these guys. They are experts, and it is a real pleasure to work with them!

I called SMK about some some possible electrical issues with my tankless water heater (which I wasn't a fan of to begin with) in my new house. SMK sent Dustin out to troubleshoot the issues. Not only did Dustin figure out the issues fairly quickly, he also pointed out some inconsistencies with the previous electrician when the remodel happened. Dustin laid out my options in a simple way. He also gave me the impression that he genuinely cared about not only the well being of the state of the electrical system, but my family's comfort as well. I ultimately went with a new tank water heater which SMK gave me a pretty fair price. Zack came out the next day to install the water heater. When the job was over, I found that Zack went the extra mile and made the area around the water heater look much more professional than the "contractor" who did the remodel. I was extremely impressed with his work. I will only use SMK in the future. Thanks Dustin and Zack!

WOW!! This company was recommended by our preacher as a good and reputable company! That was and understatement! They installated Grinder pump and tank, they ran line from outlet of new pump tank to the existing cleanout. They also ran electrical for the septic pump and alarm system and installed 60' of 3-4" trenches 24-36" wide. We also had them install a recirculation pump on the existing water heater. Schedules were kept with regular contact when the workers were on their way. The owner Shaun came out on the last day and brought his guys lunch and included me! I will never use any other plumber or electrian. My project from start to finish was completed without any issues. It's been several weeks, and everything is running as it should. I actually have another small project that I am waiting on a bid. THANKS SMK!!! Your crew/team are amazing!

I absolutely cannot say enough about this business!! We are renovating our house and I've had them out for both plumbing and electrical. Dustin is by FAR the best electrician I have ever had!! He is extremely knowledgeable and has a way of explaining the items that need to be done and will always be straight with you on what you really need and what other things you can do just for now. He is extremely professional, personable, and is always looking to help up pull off our vision with our house. I will NEVER use anyone else. We've had Brandon and Daniel out as well for our plumbing needs. They always call before they show up and are never late. We live near New Tazewell and it's hard to find reliable people. I promise you, if you've made it this far in my review you DO NOT have to keep looking for other companies! Search ends here... call them!

Shaun responded to our cold call (we just moved here from out-of-state) right away. He located and fixed the problem within a few minutes (dishwasher draining issues) and also advised us re: upcoming projects we're interested in. We're grateful to have found him; he's extremely professional and knowledgeable. He's going to be our go-to for help from here on in. Update: 3 years+ later, Shaun is still the first and only one we call. He’s installed a water softener and filter, and - most recently - a tankless water heater. Whenever we call with a question or concern, he responds almost immediately. His employees are excellent; the best at what they do; friendly and pleasant to work with. We wouldn’t consider calling anyone else!

I can’t thank SMK Plumbing enough! Had an issue with tub faucet running like someone was running a bath and had to turn water to house off. I was so lucky to have SMK assigned through my home warranty company because I’ve had some companies that were assigned and shouldn’t even be in business. Kaitlyn was so nice and able to schedule service today and Brandon came out early afternoon and was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, professional and had the problem fixed in no time! I would definitely want Brandon back here for any plumbing problem or electrical (he does electrical too)! I wouldn’t use any other company now that I’ve experienced the best!!!! Called them on a Monday morning for a leak which appeared to be coming from our toilet. Shaun said he could make it out later that day and he called and told us when he would be arriving. He was on time and diagnosed the problem quickly. Had to get a new toilet which he was able to obtain for us and he came back Tuesday morning and installed the new toilet. We were under a tight timeline because we had company arriving on Wednesday. He did all that he could to get our problem resolved as quickly as possible. He was timely, reliable, and charged a fair price. Highly recommend SMK Plumbing and Electrical.

My husband and I had a full renovation done on our unfinished basement. Unfortunately, we went through several “ Professional “plumbing companies before we came across SMK plumbing. Zack and Luis of SMK plumbing re-plumbed and installed a masquerading toilet that actually works, and they corrected some plumbing issues that had been created by the other plumbing companies. I’m writing this review in the hopes that it will spare others in need of plumbing work from going through the frustration, and wasted time & money on plumbing companies that don’t know what they’re doing. Zack and Luis of SMK are EXCELLENT !!

Dustin came to my house to move outlets, switches, and fixtures for a remodel. He was prompt and did excellent work. In the midst of the job, I was also roughing in a door and pierced one of his wires that he had JUST installed. 😣 I felt horrible about it! Dustin was very professional about it and re-ran the wire via a new route to prevent the same issue from happening in the future. He also stuck to the original quote he made even though he performed extra work. Couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of the work! I will definitely utilize SMK in the future for electrical work!
