Andrew was so helpful and friendly, and spent a lot of time helping us resolve the issue of our frozen sewer line. He helped clean up afterwards, and explained the work he’d done and what we could do to prevent further issues. The site supervisor who came was also informative and helped us feel confident that our issue would be resolved. I appreciate how thorough and easy to work with everyone was. Our regular plumber was not able to fix our d frozen sewer line, and I’m so glad I called this company for backup. They did great work for a very reasonable price.

Owen was very informative and clear on everything regarding the service needed. Before diagnosing that I needed a full replacement water tank, he took the time to look for any potential alternative issue that wouldn't require it (but I knew it probably did). He answered all my questions, the financing process was easy, and communication was great.

Very disappointed. Two men came out I had to ask for masks. Luckily I had laid Blankets for them to walk on. Their price kept going up as they found more things they needed to do to fix what I wanted. Problem is worse since they fiddled with the plumbing. I would never call them again. Their first quote was three times what I found. Plus they kept adding costs.

Completely ripped me off. Charged well over 4x what local companies charge. Created a larger leak then they were hired to repair and wouldn't come fix their mess up for another 12 hours. Did a complete hack job on inside and outside pipes. Refused me to work with me at all. Absolutely avoid this company.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to need the immediate services of a plumber this past Sunday afternoon. My tenants called me at work to tell me there was "water" backing up out of a pipe in the basement floor. I knew that could only mean one thing: a clogged sewer line. Naturally on a Sunday, of course. Since it was my rental house I also knew that I had to act fast before things really got out of hand. Were it my own home I would have done some price shopping first but I knew there was no time for that. Called Roto Rooter right off the bat. Walter arrived about a half hour late but was neat, thorough, and professional; doing all he could that night and delivering the additional bad news as delicately as possible. Although it was a Sunday I was not charged time and a half and he even cut me a break on his bill knowing that I would be needing additional camera work very shortly. The next morning I called back again to Roto Rooter to verify that Walter had reported to them as he said he would to schedule the camera work for the following day. This time it was Russ and he was even 15 min early! (Having been let in by my tenant). His camera work confirmed the suspected (and dreaded) bad news: old clay sewer pipes shattered to bits Again because this was a rental property; I immediately committed to having Roto Rooter do the necessary trenching and replacing of the line without obtaining additional estimates. Russ verified that he would actually be the person doing the work and he be on site in two days at 9 am. True to form he was 15 min early again and was hard at work when I arrived. Both Russ and Alan worked neatly and consistently through the drizzle the entire day leaving not a trance of evidence that they had even been there by the time they finished except the large (but again exceedingly neat) row of dirt running the length of the front yard (and the large hole in my checking account). Could I have gotten the work done more cheaply? Without a doubt. Could I have gotten it done more quickly, seamlessly, neatly, professionally and with less damage to my landscaping? I doubt it. And how do you put a price on that? Thank you Russ and Alan.

I have never taken the time to write a review before but I am so angry I just have to. I called roto rooter and it was determined by them after having 3 guys out that I first needed my back patio excavated and their services were going to cost over 5000.00. They said they would either would have to go through the roof and do something that would cause my basement to be filled with sewage or they would have to excavate my back new stamped concrete patio instead. I chose the patio of course. After I begged the third more advanced plumber to see if there was another way of doing things he agreed we wouldn't have to dig up the back patio "yet" at least. I asked since we don't have to do that, then a boat load would thankfully come off my bill. After checking they said they would take off only 400.00. Mind you, they already had the excavating equipment at my house. I said no way...only 400.00 off. Are you kidding me???? I couldn't believe it!!! I made them leave and I got another plumber over there 4 days later. They fixed my whole problem in 2 hours and the cost for what they did was $350.00. They said if what they didn't fix the problem they may have to re-pipe which would be another 450.00 tops. Now this is a far cry from $5000.00 to them and then another $4-$6000 for new concrete. I was also told by Roto-Rooter all my sewage waste was in my front yard and would cause major problems. The second plumbing company snaked it and I saw the video footage going ALL THE WAY to the street. The second plumbing company saw no backup, a few roots , but everything looked actually really good he said and I saw it for myself. I have no gurgling in my sink and I saved over $10,000 by not using this company. HIGHWAY ROBBERS who wanted to take advantage of a single woman. I am just sooooo grateful I was smart enough to get a second opinion. 1 star is too many. I would urge people to go elsewhere. This is the first review I have EVER taken the time to write.

I called roto-rooter for service on 09/02/09 because we had blockage in the basement toilet, they said that there is some one in the area and will be there in about 10-15 minutes and I said okay. So, we waited abut 60 minutes until someone showed up. We got an estimate to clean this blockage $354.00. And we said that this is too much are you serious? Then the plumber said if you want to remove the toilet yourself it will be $100 less. So I removed the toilet in less then 2 minutes. When the plumber was doing his job I was watching him make sure he is doing a good job the minute I left to the other room the plumber is calling me " hey something is leaking" I came back and the the tiny water hose that was connected from the refrigerator was going down from the basement on the ceiling was cut and the water was coming. I think and I know for sure the plumber cut the hose because next to him there was a razor blade. So the hose could not just jet cut in half the minute I left the room. So I had to go to the store and buy new parts to fix it my self. So ridiculous. Also there is more. Before the plumber start the job he said that there will be a 6 month warranty and I said that nice and after he completed the job he said the warranty is only for one week. I all most jot a heart attack. I ask him why? and he said well I that its 6 but its only 1 week. If I would know this in advance I would call someone else. I do not trust roto rooter and will never use it again.

We just bought a house in North Olmsted. Our first night we found a plumbing problem that wouldn't have shown up on our home inspection. My wife contacted the home warranty company. They sent JPC Plumbing. I was at work when my wife called crying. The Plumbing company came in scraped up the freshly painted walls. They then said they would have to use specialized equipment and a special camera for $700. They told her they would return the next day. I was home when they came the next day. They wanted to pull the main discharge plug and empty sewage into my finished basement. They had no buckets or anything to contain the mess. They then wanted me to sign a release that they weren't liable for any damages. I kindly told them no and to leave. I called Roto Rooter. Matt showed up in 30 minutes. He took a look at the problem and said that it wasn't a big problem. He had the clog fixed in no time. He used a camera and explained the procedure, and showed me everything he found and did. He even stayed a bit longer until my wife got home from work and explained everything to her and assured you the previous plumbers didn't know what they were doing. I know that Roto Rooter may cost a little more, but quality of service and professionalism Matt displayed will easily have my business again should the need arise. Thanks Matt and Roto Rooter.

Our shower drain had slowed to a stop in our older home, so we weren't quite sure how to handle the situation. I've heard lots of differing stories about whether it's safe to use drain cleaning materials on old pipes, I wasn't entirely sure what type of pipe we had, etc. Enter Dennis of Roto-Rooter. Dennis was extremely professional. He outlined each of the steps he would be performing and why he would be doing them. He explained to me exactly what was happening and did so professionally with a friendly attitude. After he had cleared out the bathroom drain cleaner than I'd ever seen it drain before, he threw in a cleaning of the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink! Not only did he then describe how to maintain the drains, he left us a bottle of the liquid drain protector, how and when to use it, and gave us some other tips as well. Dennis did an excellent and quick job. I have a hectic schedule, and Roto-Rooter was efficient and helpful in working around my schedule. They arrived quickly and on time and finished the job just as quickly and effectively. I believe I got the best "bang for my buck" with Roto-Rooter and would absolutely recommend them to a friend.

Should be ZERO stars, but I have to give at least one on here in order to post this. With a little research (after the fact), I learned that their "plumbers" are actually salesmen who earn a commission. So, expect high-pressure tactics and quotes for the most amount of money they can squeeze out of your wallet. They pressured an elderly family member into signing up for an extremely expensive repair, and even discouraged her from getting other quotes. Turns out, the actual repair was MUCH smaller than they said on the estimate, but since it's a flat rate, we still had to pay the full amount (almost ten thousand dollars). Oh, and then after the initial repair was done, they found another "problem" farther down the line and wanted to fix that...for another $10K. Unbelievable. I reached out to their customer service dept several times and didn't get so much as a reply. We'll never be using Roto Rooter for anything ever again. Hire them if you're looking to get severely ripped off. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and use a good, local tradesman. Also, don't ever let them talk to elderly loved ones. They WILL take advantage of them.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the service we received from Owen. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that he is not just a plumber — he is a master of his craft. He was punctual, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and handled the repair with confidence and precision. What stood out most was his attention to detail and the pride he clearly takes in his work. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was functioning perfectly, even addressing a couple of small concerns I hadn’t mentioned yet. In a world where great service is hard to find, Owen was amazing. His customer service, skill level, and work ethic are exceptional and reflect incredibly well on the company. Employees like him are the reason customers come back and recommend your business to others. He absolutely deserves recognition — and honestly, a raise. You don’t find professionals like him often. Thank you again for sending such a stellar technician!

Overpriced and lazy. 8 months ago, a Roto Rooter plumber came over to my house to check the pressure on my gas pipes to see if it was possible to have a gas stove. He spent 30 minutes checking the pressure and it didn't even hold pressure for 1 second (should have been a hint!). He was happy to charge me $250 for doing nothing and left. Fast forward to today, I was doing some maintenance on my furnace and I looked up. I saw a dead end gas pipe that the end was completely opened and not sealed off! In open air in my basement ceiling! I traced it back right to the line that would go up to my stove. I feel so foolish now for letting him take advantage of me like that. I already bought an electric stove and now it's possible that my gas-line can hold pressure and now I have to test it again. It should have been a dead giveaway that it didn't hold pressure for even 1 second. AVOID at all costs. Don't make the same mistake I did and throw money down the drain.

We had MIKE CRIST from Roto come to our house in an emergency circumstances; we had a blockage issue that was a source of problems for us for years that we couldn't solve, and to make matters worse, it was day after Xmas. After years of snaking, jetting, etc, we finally found this gentlemen ( thru Roto) that we deemed SUPER MiKE-! Not only did he work harder than anyone I have ever hired ( came at noon and left at 10pm!), but found the source of our verrrry SERIOUS problem ( a broken sewer pipe under the house!) and then he RePAIRED it!!! Which included 2 cameras all over our plumbing and sewer system and lines and then finding the source of issue, He then jack hammering concrete, finding the EXACT spot where it was broken, and took out bad portion of pipe, replaced it and BOOM... The surgeon was successful! Unreal, AND the nicest, warmest guy you will ever meet... Roto Rooter is sooo LUCKY to have him-!!! Super Mike--!!

I paid Roto-Rooter over $12,000 for water remediation and to replace the sewer pipe in the front yard. The whole experience was a disaster. They told me that sewer pipes can't be cabled they have to be replaced. I later found out the county will cable those lines for free if you ask. Shame on me for not knowing but unethical of them for telling me it couldn't be done. They left a terrible mess including a 3 foot high mound of dirt and broken sewer pipe the entire length of my yard. They even dumped trash into the whole before they filled it in. When they broke up the sewer pipe, they also broke my storm pipe, then charged me $1320 to replace it even though it was their mistake. Worst of all, they refused to give me an itemized invoice to submit to my insurance. They literally just gave me a hand written invoice with a couple of scribbles and the total. Worst experience I have ever had with an service contractor.
