Hector was dispatched out to the apartment homes I help manage within a couple hours of reporting the issue. He communicated effectively throughout the entire process and was able to clear the backup quickly. He went above and beyond and I was grateful to have his help today. Residents were also pleased with roto's prompt response. This is not the first time they've helped us in a pinch and I'm sure it won't be the last!
Camden Smith came yesterday and did an excellent job unclogging my disposal. He was very nice and friendly and it took him no time at all and was so prompt. I will always use RotoRooter and recommend them to others. Thank you and big kudos to Camden!
We had Joshua Aguirre as our technician, and I can’t speak highly enough about him. He was very professional and kind and was able to quickly fix a major issue we had with our kitchen sink plumbing as well as get us connected with additional services quickly for some water damage that had resulted from what he came out to fix. Can’t speak highly enough about our experience with him and his team! Everything was very fairly priced as well!! Highly recommend!
Con artists. They ripped me off. Go elsewhere! They claimed they charge the same amount for late night calls as day calls. Not true. After they snaked our line we have been stalked by their restoration team and camera team. This company is a well oiled scam machine.
Our basement plumbing sprang a dreadful leak. We called around and Roto-Rooter offered the earliest service at 2 pm. They didn't show up until 4:15 pm, despite our several calls saying we were facing near catastrophe. As an aside: RR is based out of Greeley, not Fort Collins, as their ad indicated. We could have had a local guy here by 3 pm. The man who showed up wasn't qualified to do the repair necessary, making it clear the dispatcher didn't listen to my husband. We waited and it took two hours for a qualified repairman to show up. By then the city employees were done for the day. It gets worse but need I say more?
On 12/17/15 I had Roto-Rooter come to my house to unclog my main drain (see my 12/17/15 review). While Darryl was there he asked if there was anything else he could do. I advised him that the kitchen sink was running slow so he said he would run the auger in that direction (he was in the crawl space so I did not witness this). The drain ran better after that. (5 stars) Flash forward to 3/15/16, the kitchen drain was running slow again so I called Roto-Rooter and asked about the 6 month warranty. They sent Juan out to look at the job and he first said the kitchen drain was not covered under the warranty because Darryl had not put any notes about working on the kitchen drain on the 12/17/15 service call. (1 star) I advised him that Darryl did in fact tell me that he had worked on that drain. He called his manager and they decided to honor the warranty. Juan ran an auger thru the drain under the sink which appears to have resolved the issue. (5 stars) Juan advised me that during the process of clearing the drain the cable damaged the waist arm going into the wall, causing it to leak and need repairing. He said the waist arm was old (original plumbing) but said since Roto-Rooter caused it to leak he would have a R-R plumber come out the next morning to repair the waist arm at no charge to me. (5 stars) On 3/16/16 Dennis from R-R came out as promised, he looked at the damaged waist arm and said this damage was not coved and it would cost me $385 for them to repair if. He said the waist arm was original plumbing and they would not cover the repair. I advised Dennis that if there was a chance of causing damage to old/original plumbing during the act of clearing the lines Juan should have mentioned that and advised me that I would have to pay for any damage caused. That was not the case and Juan never advised me of this liability on my part. He in fact had told me that the cost of the repair would be covered by R-R. Dennis then explains to me that Juan is new and inexperienced. I told him that if that is the case then Juan should not be making promises for the company that Roto-Rooter will not honor. (1 star) There are plenty of other plumbing companies out there in the Denver Metro area. My advise to all readers is to use one the other companies and not subject yourself to the shady practices of Roto-Rooter. I certainly will never call them again.
In a nutshell: don't use them. About once every two years, I need to get my sewer lines routed. I know the drill: how much it costs, how long it takes, and what's involved. So I thought I knew what I was in for when I called RotoRooter to come out. Turns out, not so much. When I called them, I requested a plumber who's been to my house before, and who my boyfriend uses regularly and with great satisfaction. I was told that he "doesn't do drain cleaning," so I said, "okay." Later, I discovered that he actually does do drain cleaning and had in fact just been out to the boyfriend's to do just that. But whatever. The guy they sent showed up on time. That's about the only good thing I can say about the experience. He took an hour to snake my line, which I know takes about 30 minutes, muttering to himself the whole time. Wouldn't look me in the eye. And told me that he thinks the problem is that my line has shifted where it meets the city line. Fine, I wanted to know more about that for sure. So I asked him about sending a camera down there. He told me he has no camera on his truck. What? Really? All the other guys do. But okay. At this point, he's kind of creeping me out, so I just want him done and out of my house. Not so fast. He broke the knob that turns the water off to the toilet, and so must replace it. Okay, it was old, I get that. After 15 minutes of muttering to himself, he emerged from the bathroom to tell me that he had to go to Home Depot to get a part. Home Depot is 4 minutes away. This trip took him 30 minutes. During which time, of course, all the water to the house is shut off. He's been here for two hours and shows no signs of moving any more quickly. And just when I thought it was all over, the guy tells me that the supply line to the toilet (new last year) is leaking. I told him not to touch it. Turns out, it's not leaking at all. He reseated the toilet so poorly that there's a gap between the toilet and the floor, and broken grout. Upshot: I have no idea if the problem is really fixed. I can't have it properly diagnosed (or have this work warrantied) without scheduling another service call at $150. My water was shut off for 3 hours. And I'm in for at least $300. Also, there's no way to speak to an actual human being at RotoRooter about any of this. Next time, I'm calling Bernie's.
Roto Rooter camera inspector Adam Lovato tried SCAMMING me and fraudulently diagnosed a main line toilet paper blockage as a tree root infestation/compromised pipe and gave a ~$13,000 estimate to excavate the road in front of my house and replace the pipe. The day prior, a Roto Rooter tech drain snaked the blockage and only partially cleared it. Adam also strongly suggested to not attempt to clear the toilet paper blockage left over from their tech, and said it could "blow up" the pipe to snake it again because it was so compromised from his mythical tree roots. I did not accept the job as Adam did not seem trustworthy (and was trying very hard to sell me on a huge job), and was backed up again 8 days later. A different company came and snaked the toilet paper and provided video evidence of the toilet paper being cleared and full integrity of the sewer pipe. Their personnel and other plumbers I sent the roto rooter video to said the blockage was clearly toilet paper. I contacted Roto Rooter management to voice concern that Adam tried to SCAM me. The manager stood by Adam's unethical behavior (when their own video clearly showed it was toilet paper, and subsequent 3rd party video shows a cleared healthy pipe). Adam touted his ~15 years of experience as a camera inspector, and I have a clear impression that he is dishonest and pulling this same scam on others, and almost certainly preying on the elderly. The Roto Rooter manager agreed to refund me the snake + camera inspection cost but I haven't seen anything come through 4 days later. I've initiated a charge dispute with my CC company. Side note, my neighbors noticed Roto Rooter at my house not knowing any of the details above and gave me information of a trustworthy plumber that a few people on my street use. They said to absolutely never use Roto Rooter, and I've learned my lesson. The fact that management defended Adam's actions means this is a company wide scam, passing off TP as tree roots.
I scheduled an appointment to clean out a french drain before new gutters were installed at my daughter's house in Highlands Ranch. They would not give an estimate over the phone but I decided to go with them anyway. I was given a 4 hour window, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. the next day (May 31, 2019). This was confirmed via email and they were to call ahead when they were about 30 minutes out. At 1:30 p.m. I called for status and was told they were running behind and it would be another 60-90 minutes before the 30 minute call ahead. Since I was doing some work on my laptop, it seemed okay to wait. At 3:30 p.m. I called again and was told there were 10 people ahead of me and could I please be patient a little while longer. I agreed. At 5:45 p.m. I called again. They now had no idea when they would get to me. They suggested I call someone else. That's when I cancelled, telling them I would write an honest review. He said, "Go ahead. Maybe that will wake someone up." Interesting. After the cancellation, we got an email stating they would give us a discount if we rebooked. No way. I will not do business with a company that can not keep their appointments and has a complete disrespect for my time.
I called Roto-Rooter on a recent Sunday as a main sewer line backup was going to wreck our Monday morning, getting everyone out of the house for school and work. No additional fee for a Sunday, no diagnostic fee, no roll charge. Awesome! Good communication from dispatch and the truck arrived in the designated window. Marcus and Kaiden were amazing. They gave me the price up front and got right to work. There were some challenges clearing the line, which is always a worry when your house is nearly 100 years old with the original clay main line. A field manager with a camera was summoned and he arrived promptly. With some additional info on the clog from the camera, they got back after it, working it from two separate exterior clean outs. When the clog cleared they were as excited as I was! The team was thorough and stayed until the job was done right, including cleaning up after themselves. They even ran my kitchen drain for no additional charge because they wanted me to be happy and satisfied. I already was, but that was the cherry on top. I paid the originally quoted price. I will definitely use Rotor-Rooter again when the need arises. I highly recommend them.
Our main sewer line is clogged. We called them and they very quickly set up a time for our appointment yesterday afternoon between 3-7 pm. My husband left work early to be available during this window. We wanted to check on the status after not hearing anything at 5 pm and we were told that the plumber that was in our area was running a little behind but should still make it within our window given. We called again at 7 pm to see if there was a better time frame since they were running late and were told they could not give us any other information but that someone would be there last night. We called again at 8:30 pm and were again reassured that someone would be out last night but they could not give us a more accurate time. We then received a call at 9 pm letting us know they would NOT be coming out last night and to reschedule for today. We have a window of between 6-8 pm tonight so we will see if this one actually happens as well. If not we will have to find another company after trusting them to show up yesterday and putting us out of using our water for yet another day.
Both Technician Hector and Field Supervisor Brian Plattner were fantastic, and helped me deal with the sewer troubles that I was having in a rapid, and courteous fashion. If you have a choice of who you work with I would absolutely recommend both Hector and Brian. Previously I had called Roto-Rooter to clear some roots from out old clay sewer line and it was completed with a 6 month warranty. On Monday it had only been about two months and the same issue started again. After a five minuet call with the Roto-Rooter office, Hector was at my house and already at work removing the toilet to access the sewer line within two hours. Hector worked diligently and snaked the sewer line twice. Then Brian arrived and scoped the line, showing me that there were some minor issues with the line due to old age and the simple physics of materials and time. He was incredibly friendly and professional, and quickly gave me multiple options for solving my problems. Overall I once again highly recommend working with both of these gentlemen.
We are so disappointed that we worked with this company instead of any reputable local company. We had them come out to fix a slow water leak that caused part of our basement to flood. The plumber they sent was fine but also sent a mitigation representative Kelly who sold us that if we went through them they would work with our insurance company and get everything settled. I even asked point blank if the cost was comparable to others and Kelly told use they use a tool that is standard in the industry and they can't charge more. That has absolutely not been true. We are now getting more bills from Roto-rooter saying we still owe even after insurance paid out. Not to mention they have not been cooperative with our insurance. They charged us over $2300 to remove laminate floor, cut out part of the carpet padding and lay down fans (20 mins of work). We could have done a large portion of that ourselves and saved the time and money. Do not waste your time or your money with Roto-Rooter.
Sewer snake was $395! This is "standard" charge no matter what time of day. Late. Late. Late. I was told 7-9pm by the scheduler but then I was told it is actually 7-11pm. They showed up at 12:30am. I had to have it scoped later by an inspection service and they said their were 100% circumferential coverage by tree roots. I made an appointment for last night for 7-9pm. I was told they were running way behind at about 8:15pm. Then I was told the actual window was 7-11pm. I was told generally they run more on time when during the morning. I scheduled for 9-11am today and still noone at 11:20am. I had to have my fiancee go to my house and work from my house just so can be at work. Now they don't have a guy available for another hour. Fortunately my fiance can stay into the afternoon. Otherwise I would ask for my money back. Do NOT use this company- expensive and likely you will need a 5 hour window to be available. They refuse to discuss pricing over the phone!
We had the worst experience ever with this company. Our toilet began to overflow at 8 at night. We called them for an emergency appointment. The guy showed up with his child in the car and kept sighing and muttering under his breath how annoyed he was to be there. He removed our toilet and stuck the snake in the drain. After a few minutes it was stuck. Instead of working with it more, he just cut off the snake and left. We were left with our toilet removed, a $359 bill and a big mess. Later, when another company had come to correct the situation, we called Roto Rooter to ask that our toilet be replaced. The rudest man ever informed us that "they don't have time for that today." I have even called the main line to report our experience. They have a special inbox to leave a message for complaints. They never returned our call. We have been letting everyone we know not to use this company. Their customer service is appalling.
