1 concern
High diagnostic fees may be standard practice for liability concerns, but the $600 charge for a diagnostic that resulted in no needed repairs—when the issue self resolved—raises questions about when diagnostics are truly necessary versus upsold.

Joseph did a good fast job. He and his team protected my floor and made sure there were no leaks. The cost was good for the work I wanted done. Friendly competent and positive experience. I’d recommend them.
I have used Puget Sound Plumbing and Heating several times now. Each time I have been impressed with how efficient and fast they are. Every person they have sent has listened carefully to the problem. They talk me through all my options and the prices. They answer all my questions. They are polite and respectful. A special shout-out to Joeseph. He's amazing. The pipes that go from the meter to the house were very old and leaking. Joeseph, in one day, got an escavator, dug up the old one, replaced it with a new one and back filled the trench in one day. I had Joeseph come out again this last time to replace a toilet and sink. He did an amazing job.
Sean from Puget Sound Plumbing and Heating came to help within two hours of me calling for a plumber today (a Saturday). He was friendly and knowledgeable. He located the leaking pipe after asking me thorough questions about my observations. He cut and removed the back of the cabinet below the kitchen sink to access the leaking pipe. He ensured we’d found the only leak by switching off and on the main water supply to the house. He quoted me the price and had me sign off before the cabinet wall cutting and before the pipe and valve replacement. He helped me learn about our pipes. He was clean and efficient. The price was way more than I expected but according to google it seems par for the work done. I am completely satisfied with his work. Great plumber help!! Thank you!!
I am leaving two stars instead of one because the total cost was communicated to me upfront before the work was performed. However, the pricing structure for basic diagnostics is incredibly excessive. My heat pump water heater threw an error code, and after a remote diagnostic with the manufacturer, they shipped me the official replacement parts. I called PugetSoundPlumbing because I had a marketing magnet from my mail and needed a quick response, assuming the rates would be reasonable. When the technician arrived, he explained that he could not rely on the manufacturer's remote diagnosis due to liability reasons if the part swap didn't solve the issue. He stated he would need to perform his own diagnostic, which cost $600. Charging $600 for a diagnostic process that takes less than an hour is absurdly expensive and feels out of touch with standard repair rates. Ultimately, the error code turned out to be transient and cleared on its own, meaning no parts even needed to be replaced. To his credit, the technician was polite and tried to provide value for the fee by flushing the water heater tank and adjusting our home's water pressure. While I appreciate his courtesy and professionalism on-site, paying $600 for an hour of troubleshooting and basic maintenance is a very tough pill to swallow. (Oh and I threw away the magnet that I had on my fridge for more than a year)
After finishing my neighbor’s plumbing issue, I asked Sean to take a quick look at a leak in my home. Without hesitation, he was open, willing, and happy to help. He really took the time to listen, checked everything carefully, and showed great problem-solving skills. The leak had already ruined part of my drywall because the builder’s pipe connections were poorly insulated, but Sean’s up-to-date plumbing knowledge made a difference. He explained the issues clearly, walked me through my options, and made sure I understood everything so I would make an informed decision. He not only fixed the leak and redid the piping, but also installed a new shower head and handle so I wouldn’t deal with the same problem again. He truly went the extra mile, his hard and sincere work truly shows. I’m extremely happy with the results. I finally have peace of mind knowing everything was done right. Thank you again Sean for your work!!
