Extremely happy with the work they did. I had my water main replaced. Michael the tech was awesome. Prompt and attentive. Great value!! Five stars!!
Mr Rooter is consistently the best plumbing service I have had the pleasure of working with. My technician today, John Dubose-MP was an absolute delight to work with. Showing a masterful, complete knowledge of all issues regarding plumbing, he professionally replaced my water main valve and pressure reduction valve. The end result can only be described as a technical work of art. Highly recommended!
My service guy, Arthur, was super customer-friendly and did a fast and fantastic job fixing my leaking pipe. He took time to explain in layman's terms how the pipe system works, from the part that reduces the pressure of the water coming to the house, to the water that flows through the water heater and from there throughout the house. It was eye-opening to see the big picture. He also told me about things I can do to further protect my pipes during winter. Would recommend company to a friend.
NO CALL, NO SHOW, NO EXCUSE I spoke to their customer service agent Barbara during the time frame that they were supposed to actually show up, and she informed me that she attempted to call last night, using my contact info, but for some reason, the call went to someone else named "Carl". I have a screen shot of my phone to show that NO ONE reached me via phone, the call was never made. However, even if they tried my phone three times and it did go to someone named "Carl", they also had my email, which we KNOW works because I got the CONFIRMATION email below that they were going to show up between 8 am and 11 am. So they had the ability to email me, yet no one took the initiative to do so. Their own damn booking tool online showed that the time slot was available between 8 and 11. Yet they chose to no-show, and had I not called, they would not have even notified me. They are responsible for putting a serious hitch in what was to be a rather big day. We changed our schedule to be here for their plumber. They have NO EXCUSE for not getting a hold of me. Your booking tool misrepresented what you are capable of. This is absolutely PATHETIC. A simple email, simple effort would have been all it took. Screen show from my phone attached to show ALL of the calls that I received yesterday. No call from Mr. Rooter WHATSOEVER.
During the 5-minute service call, the plumber, David, initially reported that the bath tub drain caused the water leak, then quickly changed it to an issue with the shower system when I stated it only leaks during showers. He did not bring any equipment to detect the water leak and promised to email the quote, but never followed up or emailed the quote. Bad experience.
For this review, I give Mr. Rooter (specifically Joe Ventimiglia and his team – Mitch and John) 5 stars for the QUALITY OF WORK that they did for us. It was excellent/outstanding. Note: Unfortunately, at the same time I would give only 2 stars for the quality of communication and for the scheduling process for our project. The scheduling was not consistent and often left us wondering if/when they would show up. And it did not measure up to match the quality of workmanship which was excellent. During his visit for the estimate, Joe was prompt, respectful, knowledgeable, asked questions, engaged with us and the design materials (drawings and descriptions) that we had prepared, was willing to enter the crawl space to assess the plumbing situation (a disaster left over from a previous plumber who could not finish the work) and listened to us. He let us know that he would work on getting us a written estimate as soon as possible. Within a day or so, Joe was able to send us an estimate. That was amazing in and of itself (most plumbers take 3-5 days to generate an estimate and some never follow up at all). After reviewing the estimate, we decided to go with Joe and his team (Mr. Rooter). Within the same week, Joe and his team (Mitch and John) removed all of the faulty, partially installed mess of plumbing work that the previous plumber had “installed” for us. Joe and his team also brought all of the supplies to stage them for the next week’s work. Before I share more of the job, let me just say that Joe and his team (Mitch and John) were professional, respectful and documented their work. Mitch was extremely personable, very respectful and conducted himself with dignity and excellence on the job. John was polite and answered questions when asked. Both Mitch and John added to the already high level of skillful excellence that Joe brought to the job. The following week, Joe and his team worked on replacing all of the drains and supply lines under our home (in our crawl space) as well as roughing in all of the connections, drains and dry vents in our bathroom space (going from 1.5 baths to 2 baths in a complete gut with dry vents that had to be reconnected and tied into the whole system). Their work set the stage for the construction team that was doing our remodel. Seeing Joe's (and Mitch and John) finished work has been amazing. The work is clean, precise, completed according to code, and has corrected all of the errors and sloppiness of the previous plumber’s work. Joe/Mitch/John's work is also going to allow us to prevent leaks in the future. At the start of this project, I said I wanted “pretty pipes” (meaning clean, well done, leak-proof, neat, organized, code-worthy, and otherwise excellently installed) and that is what we now have. The only area that was not as excellent was the poor communication around scheduling. Often, we were told that Joe, or Joe and his team, would be at our house on a certain day or at a certain time and we often did not hear from anyone until late in the day/the end of the day when Joe would let us know that the schedule had shifted or that he would need to reschedule for the next day or the following day. Of course, we can understand and give grace when that happens once but when it becomes a pattern, it feels disrespectful. It happened several times and we tried to just be flexible. However, after the 3rd time, we ended up speaking to a supervisor about the situation. Thankfully, Mr. Rooter’s supervisor was helpful and swift in resolving our concerns and the job was completed with the same skill and excellence that Joe and his team demonstrated throughout the job. Overall, we are very glad that we worked with Joe, Mitch and John and we are grateful for their excellent skill and the high quality of their finished work. We are so thankful for the completed bathroom plumbing for our 2-bathroom remodel project.
Wish I could give them a zero...... This event took place in November of 2022.... Long but read it and save yourselves! Mr. Rooter was called (using the mrrooteratl.com website number) as our hot water heater was making unknown popping noises and not coming from the tank relief valve. Between the time of making the appt and when the Mr. Rooter tech showed up, the popping noises had stopped but the hot water started going lukewarm after running for 2-4 minutes. When the Mr. Rooter tech arrived, I explained the problem and the recent changes in symptoms since making the appointment. I explained to the tech we have never had an issue with this the entire year and a half we have lived here no matter how much water we used in a day. Additionally, the kitchen floor had started feeling warm. That tech barely looked at hot water heater (maybe for 2 minutes), didn't look to see how old it was, dismissed the hot feeling of floor, and didn't test anything. In fact, I actually had to ask him to check water in showers etc. The Mr. Rooter tech's conclusion was the system needed to be flushed and it should be done yearly. I asked if that would account for the hot water going out after 2-4 minutes and the floor being hot. He just said it was necessary to flush today. He flushed it (took 20 minutes) and charged $335 (Mr. Rooter charges $380 for flushing, he gave me $45 off because he "fixed the handle in bath upstairs for free"). I asked him if this would fix it and what to do if it doesn't, with his response being he wouldn't know but maybe that meant hot water had to be replaced and he left. Unfortunately, the low hot water supply remained unchanged and the kitchen floor remained warm/hot. After this visit, we called Mr. Rooter to get some money back because we had given the cans of food to get $75 discount that they had guaranteed. Also, we wanted them to send another tech back out to find/fix for our problem for free because we weren't satisfied with the first tech's lack of investigating/identifying the issue. So Mr. Rooter then sent a different tech out a few days later and he barely looked at hot water heater and plumbing either. He just said you would need a new hot water heater. We told the Mr. Rooter tech that he hadn't done any investigation into our problem at all and we needed either more information or all our money back. After the second tech left, we called them several times that week to get money back/better service. We got plenty of lip service from their regional manager, but that was it. They eventually refunded the $75 discount for the cans of food but would not even listen about refunding the rest of our money even though they had not fixed our problem. We were still out $260, and our hot water problem clearly not fixed. Mr. Rooter blatantly ripped us off and didn't care one whit that they had. I will next be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in addition to sharing this review here. The good news to this whole mess is that when we contacted another plumbing company, (I won't list their name here) their tech immediately (within five minutes) identified a leaking hot water pipe under the kitchen floor (hence the warm kitchen floor - we live on a slab). The repairs were very expensive, but we can't thank the other company enough for their professionalism in explaining the repair options and then how well they did the repairs.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Found Mr. Rooter & Drain plumbing company in the North Atlanta Verified Home Services booklet. Mr. Rooter is listed as a "verified" vendor but I'm unsure how they the made this list because they are LIARS and unreliable. This company was a NO CALL, NO SHOW on two occasions. We scheduled an appt, Tuesday, Jan 12, 2021 for Sat, Jan 16, 2021, 11- 2 pm. No call, no show. When we called to find out what happened, we were told "the rep kept calling you but no one answered the phone." This is a LIE, no one called but we rescheduled for Monday, January 18, 11 am -2 pm. Monday, January 18, 2021, we made certain that our phones were front and center, ringer volume on "high" so that there were no incidences of supposed 'missed' calls. At 12:30 pm my husband, Joe Cook, called Mr. Rooter to make sure the rep was coming. There was no answer then at 12:51 pm, my husband received a text message from Mr. Rooter stating, "Mailbox is full///Due to an excessive amount of emergency calls, we will be unable to make your appointment . Your appointment has been rescheduled to Sat, 1.23 @11-2 Please call our office at 770-640-1125 if this is not convenient for you. We truly appreciate your patience." 3:00 pm, Monday, Jan 18, 2021, rolls around and still no rep. We called and was told by Barbara, "the rep tried to call your husband three times and his voicemail is full and proceeded to play his voice recording." My husband's phone NEVER rang. Again, my husband's phone NEVER RANG. We have a screenshot of his phone to show that NO ONE reached him via phone, the call was never made. They continued to LIE, I continued to scream and eventually hung up. When I called back, I proceeded to tell Barbara how easy it is to call someone, immediately press "1" and the voicemail will come on without their phone ever ringing. She was surprised and stated she had no idea that could be done. I then spoke with the Manager, Stephanie, who also peddled the same LIES and disingenuous excuses as to why the rep didn't show up. My point to Stephanie was, why on earth would we sit at home, AGAIN, waiting on a rep to show up and not answer our phones??!!! Why?!! It makes no sense! Mr. Rooter had no intention of providing service to us. This company deliberately lied, showed ZERO integrity or accountability, and kept accusing us of not having answered our phone, AGAIN. Still in need of a plumber, I decided to search Yelp. Low and behold, Mr. Rooter Plumbing Roswell popped up and I was shocked by the sheer number of bad/ "1" star reviews. As Brian O. stated below, this company is absolutely PATHETIC! Several reviews even implicated Barbara and Stephanie, the Manager, for their misleading and poor customer service. Bottomline, Mr. Rooter has proven to be "verified" liars and should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR ENERGY OR TIME ON THIS COMPANY.
Thanksgiving Day 2014 The morning of Thanksgiving we had family over from out of town staying with us. My wife screamed for me in a tone that all husbands know is not good. I ran back and found the water in the shower was not draining. I thought no problem being the handy man I am, a few minutes and we will be back in business, after a couple of compressions with my plunger my wife screams with that awful tone again, I am plunging poop out of my toilet all over the floor, I run into the living room to get help from my Dad and find out that their bathroom is overflowing as well. At this point I knew I was in trouble and this is not in my realm of expertise. I called Mr Rooter remembering a buddy from work had them at his house a couple of weeks ago with a simular problem. I was as nervous as a sore tail cat in a rocking chair convention to call a plumber out on a holiday, but I had no choice. I made a call , and Jeff from Mr Rooter showed up in just a little over an hour. He was very knowledgable and super courteous, seeing I snached him away from his family to help my family. He ran his snake in the pipe in the front of my house and after two hours could not get it flowing. he said that my line was really a bad one that it can usally clear the line within an hour, after pulling his snake out he found roots from a tree in my front yard. He gave me several differant options to fix my problem, I chose to dig it up and fix it. What happen next just blew me away, he called in another plumber with Mr Rooter which ran by the office to grab a tractor , and headed to my house to start digging up my yard . They were finished about 2:30 that afternoon and we were back to normal again. He came back the next day to finish the final dressing of my yard but I was very impressed with the service I got from Mr Rooter and Jeff and Henry (the second plumber). At first I thought it was a little pricey until I saw the service I recieved, and compared the price to my buddys bill where I paid the same amount as he did, not to mention that mine was a holiday and his was not. I WOULD RECOMMEND MR ROOTER TO ANYONE.
CUSTOMER BEWARE!! Read this and you will use someone else! Today I received a request for a review of this company which is the only reason I am taking this time to tell you of my horrific experience. I will make this short but provide the details needed. I needed a new water heater and called Mr. Rooter. The technician came later in the evening and finished up about 730 PM. I'm not sure if it's normal process but they turn the water off at the street and replace the water heater. At this time I also had a handyman at my house who is working on something else but could see the technician and what he was doing. After he finished installing the water heater he went down to the street and turn the water lines back onto the house. He did drain the lines nor did he ease the water pressure back into the house. When I say this I mean let the water run or a drip so the pressure is released. He laughed and when my daughter turned on the water for the first time to take a bath the pipe burst to do the pressure and as a result of this I received close to $20,000 in water damage. I immediately called Mr. Rooter who didn't call me back for two days. They send two guys out they walked around my house they didn't say one word to me they didn't apologize or anything they already had a pre-printed out and highlighted stating that any damage is not their responsibility.so really they just came out to follow process they already had the paperwork it was already highlighted from the office and they already knew with their story was. I called the owner of the company Robert Minkert who said he sees this kind of thing all the time and that it's not their problem. They took no responsibility they never said sorry one time I have the piece of pipe as proof and I hope my insurance company is going after them. I am just going to warn you stay away there are people that are concerned and there are people that just don't care and this is one of them did just don't care. I told Robert that what is this was his daughter and she was being treated like this and he had nothing to say to that. Do not use!
About a year ago, I hired this company to install a new tankless water heater. Not long after installation, the unit began repeatedly throwing an error code. I called them back multiple times and was repeatedly told they could not identify the issue. Eventually, I was told the problem was that my home needed a larger gas line. Based on their recommendation, I coordinated with the gas company and paid to have a new gas line installed. I was then quoted approximately $3,400 for additional regulators and related work by the plumbing company. The scheduled install day came and they did not show up, which resulted in my gas being shut off and my household going without gas service for roughly 24 hours. They returned the next day and attempted to charge over $4,300 instead of the amount discussed. When I questioned the increase, I was told police would be involved for “theft of services” if payment was not made. After additional conversations, they said there was miscommunication and reduced amount slightly but there was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. The most frustrating part: the very next day, the water heater threw the exact same error code. I called a different plumbing company for a second opinion. Within about 15 minutes, the technician contacted the manufacturer’s support team, identified that the original setup/configuration had not been completed correctly, made a simple programming/configuration correction, and resolved the issue. I was not charged for the diagnosis or fix. The programing was because they programmed it as if it had a wifi box on the recirculation T...and in fact they charged me for the box and never installed it. Finding out that the costly work I had been told was necessary did not actually resolve the problem was incredibly disappointing. I’m sharing this because homeowners rely on professionals to properly diagnose issues before recommending expensive work. My experience left me with unnecessary cost, inconvenience, and a loss of confidence in the process
NO SHOW, NO CALL, NO MASK, RUDE, CLUELESS PLUMBER First, NO ONE SHOWED UP by 10:45 for my 8-11 am timeslot. At 10:45 I called, Only then was I informed that they had "lost"a technician due to "family emergency." But no one had let me know. Nor did they inform me on if they would still send someone else today. They said the dispatcher would call me "right back." No call 20 minutes later. So I called and was told another technician was on his way. He arrived i about 20 minutes but DID NOT FOLLOW MY DETAILED DIRECTIONS I had provided for arrival/building access.Which forced me to have to leave the building and sort him out. He couldn't seem to figure out how to park his van, when clearly there was a space right in front. His mind seemed "elsewhere." When he came out of the van to approach he had no mask on. When I asked him to please put on a mask, he actually said, "Oh I can see this is gonna be a lot of fun already..." as he rolled his eyes and put on a mask that DID NOT COVER HIS NOSE. When I asked him to cover his nose (properly) he joked, "What? I can't hear you through your mask..." When he was about to enter my apartment I had to ask him to put on booties (which the home office had said was required of their technicians). His mask was still under his nose. He had not washed hands, used sanitizer, nor had gloves. So before entering my home I brought out some sanitizer for him to use. And then he COMPLAINED ABOUT IT and gave me a hard time. He had NO RESPECT at all that he was entering MY HOME during a pandemic. So I sent him away. I called the office to report these 2 incidents to the Manager, thinking he would want to know about them. I NEVER got a return call from the Manager. Clearly they do not care. You may pay more elsewhere, but the savings is not worth insults, carelessness, thoughtlessness, and possible health risks. GO ELSEWHERE for your plumbing needs.
All that I ask for was a quote to install a toilet and John came back with $1100 which is too much to just install a toilet which he neve gave us just tha actual price of the install, The he just added some drain stuff which I thought was for the toilet never explaining just what it was or the cost of it. Only found out the cost after receiving the invoice in my email copy after he left. Never showed us a copy of the estimate before signing jus the page that needed to be signed. It customary to show the customer the bill and explain the pricing to them before getting a signature. To replace the flange and charge us $350 to do it, and that is price gouging as the part was included in the box with the toilet, charging $160 to go around the corner 5 min. away to pick up the toilet was too much. It should not cost $348.60 to install a popup assembly a sink either. As john was gone along time just to go 5 mi. away from our house to pick up the toilet. I believe we were overcharged for the install. Was told a $500 savings only to find out that it was only $239.14. I will never recommend Mr. plumber to anyone as was not completely upfront with us on pricing and was too high we are seniors and are not made of money. The installer never gave me back my receipt from Lowes from me purchasing the toilet and I ask him for it. The installers should neve just add stuff to the bill without asking the customer before he includes it I the price and show the customer the bill before getting the signature and going over everything to include pricing in detail which John did not. not a good value overcharge people
In April, we called Mr. Rooter to have our septic tank checked. We were quoted a price, and we were told that price was to clean out the septic tank. Before they came over, they said that, because it hadn't been cleaned out in so long, it would definitely need to be cleaned. Trevor came over and checked the septic tank, and he told us that it looked good and that we would not need it cleaned out. Then, he told us it would cost the same amount of money that were were quoted to clean it! Of course, I told him just to go ahead and clean it out since it was going to cost us the same amount of money. When he called his manager, of course the price changed. He said that they had just discussed it that morning during their meeting, and he just forgot (yeah, right). I decided that I wanted the tank cleaned out anyway since he was already there. This is when he proceeded to make up something about how they were going to have to call out another truck because of where the tank is located. I was not told about this beforehand. It had started to rain, so I am sure Trevor just did not want to work out in the rain. When my husband called the manager, he said that he would reimburse us if we found a cheaper place to clean out our septic tank. Isn't that why I called them in the first place? This was some of the WORST customer service I have ever had. Their employees are shady, and I would not trust them. Please do not call this company for your needs! They do not want to work.
My husband's original service call was scheduled between 11 AM and 2 PM on Friday 4/30. He was told that, due to call outs, they had limited staff availability but that they would still send someone in the afternoon closer to 2 PM. The plumber (Lucas Wade) didn't arrive until nearly 7 PM. I asked that he sign a form to certify that he installed the toilet as this was needed stay in compliance with Dekalb County Code and receive continued water service. Upon paying and receiving comments that "late calls are normally expensive" (despite the fact that this was now 7 hours after our original appointment) he mentioned he did not have his license to sign the Dekalb Compliance form. He said he would come by Saturday, 5/1 to sign the form. After waiting until noon and calling, he was told he wouldn't come as it was "inconvenient" for him and he would need to drive up to Roswell, GA on Monday (5/3) morning. So essentially, this call was completed by an unlicensed plumber, and Mr. Rooter representatives refuse to make any attempt to rectify this. Almost every person we spoke to on the phone was rude and unaccommodating even though this has been a Mr Rooter screw up from the very beginning. The fact that it was even SUGGESTED and now being offered as the ONLY solution that we drive 45 minutes away on a Monday morning to get paperwork signed that should have been signed 4/30 by a LICENSED plumber is so incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional and ridiculous.
