Roberto Buendia from Mallick Plumbing & Heating were phenomenal. Truly, a pleasure to see the passion Roberto has for the trade of plumbing. Very thorough, passionate, and professional. Extremely professional. Do not hesitate to call and ask for Roberto. He came in and fixed everything within the hour they originally quoted me. I will gladly work with them in the future if I ever need their help again. He also did the complementary check of my water heater and pressure.
Abbas.. and Koli came to hookup the gas for my new cooktop. Both very friendly and professional. They both knew what they were doing. I greatly appreciated they took the initiative to reach out to the ApplianceLand installer asking exactly what was needed to hookup the cooktop because the wall oven needed to be reinstalled under the cooktop. They kept me informed of the steps that they would be performing for the hookup. I will definitely call Mallick for future work. Thank you for an excellent job done. Annette P.
EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH MY WATER SOFTENER SYSTEM On 10/6/25, Mallick Plumbing & Heating, Inc. installed our new water softener, and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, their team was professional, punctual, and extremely knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure the installation was done cleanly and efficiently. Our plumber, Frederick Mason, was absolutely excellent. He was professional, courteous, and clearly takes pride in his work. He answered all of our questions, made sure everything was set up perfectly, and left the area spotless when he was finished. The results have been amazing. My wife absolutely loves the difference in our water; she immediately noticed how much better it smells and tastes. Even better, she says her hair feels noticeably softer, and both of us have seen a big improvement in how soft and smooth our skin feels. It’s honestly been a game-changer for our home. Now, five months later, we are still extremely satisfied with our purchase. The system has been working flawlessly, and it has truly been money well spent. If you’re considering a water softener, I highly recommend Mallick Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Outstanding service, quality work, and real results. Five stars all the way! A. Jones
I had a ball valve spring a pinhole leak in my drop ceiling on a Friday night and called Mallick for emergency service as I could not turn my water on. A technician came within a few hours and was able to quick identify the problem and stop the leak. He cut off the bad valve and put a cap on it so it would not leak anymore, it look all of 20 mins. My issue is that this quick repair cost me $450 and I still do not have a working valve for my outside faucet. I need to have a plumber come back during normal business hours to actually put a new valve on, which will cost several hundred more dollars. IMO this is borderline price gouging and taking advantage of customers in an emergency situation. I will not use them again for this reason, and will find a plumber less focused on making a quick buck. Again, the technician was competent, friendly and fixed the problem, but the price gouging leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Good Luck
I requested a quote from this company to replace our water heater. The quote was incredibly high, in fact I let the technician, Jacob, know that his quote was thousands dollars higher than comparable competitors and I asked him if he can elaborate more on the different on price. The guy said that he will give a very detailed quote that he elaborated on only after sitting in his van parked in our driveway for two hours (that was pretty ridiculous) even after I requested that he send the info by email. In the quote, that was far from detailed, I did not find that they do any "state-of-the-art" work. Indeed on the same visit I asked about replacing a cast iron sewer stack pipe with a no-hub cast iron pipe and Jacob told that would be extremely difficult and expensive, other companies provide me reasonable quotes for the same job.
My new to me townhouse had a water heater that was at least 14 years old. Although it was still heating water and not leaking, it did make some grumpy aging noises. The plumber I had used when I was renovating last summer was unavailable and going to be out for a long period of time. His voicemail recommended Mallick. I called Mallick and they were very personable over the phone. Due to COVID-19, I got to do a virtual call with Dale. I pointed out all my concerns and he asked for me to zoom in on some points of my old water heater. He said he would work on a quote for me and get it to me. And he did. Quote came quickly. I reviewed, but also wanted to get some other quotes for comparison. I used the Yelp option to send out a request to other plumbing companies. I did get replies, but only one other plumber gave me a quote. Others said they'd call to schedule a call but didn't. So, I ended up with Mallick. I mentioned that the quote was a bit higher than expected. Dale reviewed some options and we settled on a plan that would work for me for the next decade. Dale ordered the water heater and other parts. Within a week or so, Katee from Mallick called to schedule. Tyler showed up at my house bright an early the day of the appointment. I thought it was going to be two people, but it was just Tyler. Thankfully, my water heater closet is on the main level and right at the front door so he didn't have too far to go! Took about 4-5 hours for the new water heater, expansion tank, and all the other bits and pieces to get installed. Tyler was informative and explained what I needed to know about the new water heater. While he was wrapping up, I had asked him about some other issues about the pressure valve and other pipes that probably needed to get checked and replaced. Tyler quoted it out for me so I had what I needed to research. Good thing Tyler and I had chatted about it cause something wonky was happening with the water/pipes in the house. I got a lot of water hammering noise throughout the weekend. Draining everything and hoping air would get back into the pipes didn't help much. So, I called Mallick and asked Tyler to come back out. He came the next day and changed out the pressure valve. and checked for other issues. He was going to change the valve under the water meter for me, but had to have WSSC come out to fix the valve at the curb to turn off the water. After WSSC came out and fixed the valve at the curb, Tyler came back out to finish changing the valve. Good timing cause before he arrived, I could hear a toilet tank refilling. Tyler checked it out, did the dye test and there's a leak. So, once the parts come in, he'll be back. Mallick is following COVID precautions. Tyler has a mask and gloves. He's also mindful of property wearing booties over his shoes inside the house. Also careful to make sure the door is closed as he goes in and out of the house to his work truck. Incredibly polite. Definitely recommend Mallick Plumbing. #MOENFLO10
I just had the most unbelievable exchange with this company. I own a rental property in Bethesda, and needed to do a few repairs prior to the new tenant moving in. I spoke with their office late afternoon Friday, and when I tried to confirm the appointment minutes later, after checking my calendar, they had already turned their phones off. So I left a voice mail, indicating that Monday as promised, was good for me, and that they could proceed. I heard nothing, until 9 this morning (Monday), when she proceeded to tell me that they were all booked for today and would have to schedule for Tuesday. Not sure, how with the phones off over the weekend, and with her call to me this morning at 9, how they managed to get all booked up for today, when she told me Friday late afternoon, that I could have a Monday appointment. Anyway, I accepted the Tuesday appointment instead . The purpose for my call was to have a dripping faucet fixed. When I was confirming the appointment, I mentioned that I live out of state, that the previous tenant has vacated, and the new tenant has not moved in yet. I wanted to provide the combo for the lock. I was then informed that they would not go to the house unless someone was there to meet them. I asked why, and she said it was company policy. I explained that I lived 150 miles away, and that it would not be possible. I have had an electrician, a painter, and house cleaners in the house, and they were very happy to work in the house, without tripping over people's dogs, furniture etc. There was no concern whatsoever for her pulling the rug out from underneath me, as I had already indicated last week, to the incoming tenant, that the plumbing repairs would be made today or tomorrow. This has caused me at least a week's delay, and for really no explainable reason. This is a clean, tidy, 4 bedroom brick colonial in a multi million dollar neighborhood...not some run down shack in a crime ridden area. The Mallick employee did not seem to care at all. Beware of relying on scheduling with this company. From my experience, it appears that they don't need the work.
We had a disaster last night: one of the pipes burst and water (clean, thank goodness!) poured all over the basement floor. I turned off the mains and we spent the evening and night without water. Mr Abbas came this morning and has just finished. He did a fantastic job! A true professional! He did the work methodically, explaining it to me every step of the way. The result is that we now have water! He is unfailingly polite, and knows exactly what he is doing. He also did an excellent job cleaning up. There is nothing he could have improved. I cannot recommend him more highly. Thank you Mallick for sending such a fine person. A follow-up two weeks later. We decided to go ahead and replace all the three-story house hundred-year-old galvanized pipes with copper and also replace the 20-year-old water heater with a heat pump. Mr Abbas and Mr Mark did a simply amazing job. They worked for three days (one day for 12 hours), with enormous attention to detail, explaining to me what and why they were doing at every stage, thoroughly cleaning up at the end. I have owned this house for 35 years, and several houses before this, and have never seen such fine work. Both are very considerate and polite people, whom I cannot recommend more highly. Thank you for such excellent work! Follow-up a year later: We just had our annual check-up, and a couple of jobs - a replacement expansion tank and a replacement sink disposal. The work was carried out by Mr Abbas (who did such an excellent job in our house last year) and Mr Kolli. As expected they did a perfect job - they announced they were on their way, they did the work, they checked everything, and they cleaned up. I continue to be impressed by Mr Abbas’s fine, professional work and his polite and friendly manner, and I was very happy to meet Mr Kolli. Thank you Mallick for sending them!!
Had a leak coming from the pressure valve of my water heater, so tried Mallick. When the Serviceman arrived, I pointed out the leak and the probable issue as the pressure valve, but he seemed more focused on my valuable LEGO and Star Wars collection than the actual work, and was making comments like "this is all very expensive", etc. He then claimed that the issue was not a leaking pressure valve, but a far more expensive 1K job that he assured would fix the leak. He did not fix the leak, and instead did a completely unnecessary job that cost me over $1,000.00. When I complained to the company, they sent a different rep over that admitted the original work done was not the issue, and that the only issue was indeed a leaking pressure valve - which he replaced for an additional $500.00 (he also did not have all the parts needed, so I had to go to Home Depot myself to get them) When they started hassling me for a review and I pointed out that I was the last person they should ask for a review based on the incorrect work being completed, the rip off, and the overall experience, the manager contacted me but only offered to refund back half of the $1K spent on the original work performed that did not fix the problem, so I still spent over 1K on what should have been a $300 job. I believe the original technician saw my valuable collection, and figured I had money to spare, so he performed and charged me for completely unnecessary - and more expensive - work in order to jack up the revenue for Mallick and himself. Not to mention the unprofessionalism of the follow-up job, and me having to go get an additional part myself. I will never use this company again.
I was very disappointed with their service. I had them come to my apartment to replace the drain cap on my bathroom vanity. Tow people showed up at my door. I immediately thought that for the job I called, they did not have to send two people. One person was working, but the other was just standing there doing nothing. At some point the actual plumber, send the other guy to his car to bring him a tool. It took him such a long time to bring the tool, because he was walking so slow. After the job was finished they charged me for 30 min. work to replace the drain cup $475. I paid them and asked them to send me the invoice. I had to call the office to get an invoice, but the invoice did not show the cost of labour and the parts, it was just the final price. I requested the itemized invoice, and complained that the cost for that kind of work was too expensive. After they reviewed the invoice, they told me that the plumber charged me extra $75 for the helper, and that he should not have done that. So the plumber Jose tried to get extra $75 for his helper Luis. After they told me that I will be reimbursed for $75, my bill dropped to $400. I still think it is very expensive. They charged me for the drain cup part $215 and 30 min labour $185. I will never call them again or recommend them to anybody. I will also post this on my building link, and warn the residents to think twice before they call them. They were on the list for the plumbers to call in my condo. If I could give them zero stars I would.
5.21.2026: Billy and Arelson installed a whole-house water treatment system for us. They were meticulous with their work, making sure everything is in order, and not rushing through anything even if it meant staying past 8pm. Mallick also offers maintenance service plans for the system so we don’t have to worry about the system acting up. We are grateful and feel well taken care of! 4.7.2026: Billy came for our annual inspection, and again worked dilligently from 9am-6pm. The plumbing in our house is in much better shape in general now after Billy worked on numerous projects over the year. Billy has become like family, and we appreciate all his hard work! 5.6.2024: Mallick plumbing has done projects with our house for a couple of years. Billy and Bryce are professional, polite, and patient. Long days at our house from early morning until almost sundown are not rare occurrences, yet they take the days as champs and deliver quality work. They have updated almost all the plumbing parts in our house (toilets, sinks, water heater, etc.). We are very satisfied and can rest well knowing our house’s plumbing is in good hands!
I had waited for my insurance company to send a plumber for over 24 hours to no avail. I called these guys at 8p. I asked Jeff, who answered the phone, for an estimate which he told me $350 and what I thought was $60 per extra hour (but actually turned out to be $60 per extra quarter hour). I was told the plumber would show up within the next two hour window. Bobby showed up at 9p. I was quite happy it only took one hour for him to show up. He did a great job. He protected my floors and worked efficiently. However after 1 hour of work to fix a main drain blockage, I was billed $540. With a mysterious $120 rental fee for the snake machine that Jeff forgot to mention when I asked for an estimate before dispatching the plumber. So. Yes I was happy with the work done, and response time. But a simple snake for a drain all done within an hour and then billed $540? Ouch. Another thing is that they won't work with your insurance company, that's all on you. I might use them again if I had to, but I would probably ask for a written estimate next time since I payed twice the amount I expected from our phone conversation.
I called Mallick Plumbing to fix my water shut offs in the front and back of my home. The service technicians arrived on time and surveyed the work. One turnoff valve was working, however, a leak had developed near the juncture. The front bib was not well sealed and not sized properly. The rear turnoff valve was leaking, and needed emergency cutoffs to the sink and washer/dryer. The washer sink faucets were 50+ years old and rusted; and were replaced on the tub basin. Recommendations were made to improve the plumbing system. After assessing the needed work, I was given price quotes and options - I did not feel pressure to approve additional work; in fact, I declined to have some of the extra work done. Billy and Kallie worked steadily repairing clogged and rusted pipes and turnoff valves. The work areas were kept clean, and special foot covers were used upon entry to my house. Billy Clem and Kallie were friendly and respectful. These guys did a really great job, and I am so appreciative. Call Mallick with your plumbing issues. They are excellent. Carol T
I had my old sump pump ( turns out it was 30 years old) and it didn't hold up against all the rain we had towards the end of December and there was about an inch or so of water all across my basement. Ugh. After spending about $1700 getting a company to clean up, I knew I needed a sump pump. Mallick came quickly and offered me three different sump pump options and I chose the higher end one but I wasn't pushed towards one out the other. I think my plumber was Jeff, and he was extremely helpful and because I have an unfinished basement, he reviewed my current plumbing while there, since it was easy to see, and let me know I will need to have my water heater replaced because a pipe is bending under weight under this balloon like thing attached to the heater. He didn't notice anything else. I'm going to have this sump pump and see how it does with the rain that will eventually come and hopefully it will show me if I really need to have the basement waterproofed, or if the sump pump was the problem.
Brandon came to assess my Toto toilet. Asked him what the price was to replace it instead of repair it. Said he would need a minute to get the price from his computer in his truck. Left at 12:00. 1:00 came by, and he still had not returned. Needed to return to work. Meanwhile, he sat in his car on my street and did not return to my house until 1:20, 5 minutes after I texted the office that he had abandoned the job. He then returned to his truck, where he sat on my street until 2:15. I guess he really wasn't that busy if he could sit for 2 hours in his van parked on my street. Oh, and he had called asking if he could come early because he had "a very busy day ahead of him." Needless to say, we won't be using them again. Insensitive and disrespectful of client's time. 1 hour to quote the price for a new toilet? Seriously? It took me exactly 43 seconds to find the price on Google. Surely, it wouldn't take them 59 minutes and 17 seconds to figure out how much they would charge me to install it...
