What reviewers report — the concerns
Other directories bury these. We think you should read them before you call. Every concern below comes from the reviews it cites.
Red flag
Severe overcharging complaints: $394 to unstop a kitchen drain (refused by customer; competitor did it for $169), and ~$1,000 for a '15 min job' on an elderly neighbor — 2 separate accounts of price gouging (reviews hq34tpYtmutMA8RSVhiG, igkVLN2I6NUhjiSpEgln).
“No, I was not satisfied with your price — nearly $400 ($394) to unstop a kitchen drain! That was ridiculous! Refusing to give an estimate over the telephone is only a way to be non-transparent about the cost of service.”

“BEWARE - this business took advantage of my elderly neighbor. they OVERCHARGE significantly for service. simple 15 min job they charged almost $1000. stay away!”
Red flag
RO system confusion: representative said they handle reverse osmosis, technician arrived and couldn't confirm scope; scheduling and service description were inconsistent (review lgBqxH149zpFk4nzbN0J).
Cited in 1 of the 29 reviews we analyzed.
No upfront phone quotes: company refuses to give estimates over the phone, only in person — enabling high-pressure in-home pricing. Two reviewers specifically called this out (reviews hq34tpYtmutMA8RSVhiG, igkVLN2I6NUhjiSpEgln).

The evidence — in reviewers' own words
Critical
“Disappointing experience overall. 1. Initial response - this part was actually impressive. I emailed on Christmas day and they called to schedule the appointment shortly after. I didn't expect anyone to call until after the holiday. 2. I called after the holiday to make sure they actually worked on reverse osmosis (RO) systems. The lady was not sure, but whomever she communicated with advised that they do. ---- I …”
“Called to have someone come out and determine where water leak was coming from. Plumber determined kitchen faucet was leaking and causing problem. Quoted $761.33 if he purchased faucet and installed. $448.17 if we purchased faucet. He would deduct $99.00 trip charge making the installation of sink faucet ($139.00 retail), $349.17. Gave the job to someone else!!!”
“Technician only checked 1st 10ft of my outside drain, not the remain 110ft to see where there may or may not be other blockages or not and minimize the repair and then wouldn’t quote a repair but a full 125ft replacement .. would not recommend or use them for plumbing.”
Positive
“Jacob was very helpful in fixing my issue with a couple clogged drains. Especially with me being a new homeowner, I was definitely put at ease with his help. Thanks Jacob!!!”
“This is not my first time receiving service from Gahanna Plumbing and Drain. I received excellent service from Rodney which made me a return customer. Both Rodney and Nick arrived on time and were very courteous and polite. They fixed my problem and explained what caused it. Nick also informed me on how to prevent some of the lint buildup in the drain from happening again which I really appreciated.”
