I had just bought a house that needed a water softener system installed and FloRyte services was extremely responsive! Right away, they responded to my inquiry and gave me a quote. I was very pleased with the fast response and service, which was done on the weekend of the week I inquired about their services. While installing the water softener system, they identified a water pressure issue, indicating that my well pressure tank was not working optimally. I had tank specialists take a look, and FloRyte’s diagnosis was correct! I was very impressed. That instance, along with many others, was a testament of their expertise. Upon having the official diagnosis, they replaced my well pressure tank swiftly at a very reasonable price. Not only do they do plumbing services, they offer HVAC services as well! I had no heat on the second floor of my home, so I wanted to install a mini split system and they did so wonderfully, and now I have heat whenever! There were some issues with the unit, which was the manufacturers fault for sending a faulty system; however, when they heard there were issues with the unit, within the same week of checking it out, they ordered me a new one and installed it at no additional cost. Overall, FloRyte is an amazing company that offer swift solutions to big problems at very reasonable rates! I recommend them to everyone who is in need of fixing or improving their plumbing and/or HVAC. I am actually about to call them again to help fix the HVAC at my other property! Go with FloRyte, they’ll do your plumbing and HVAC right!
Andrew was on time. He and his associate did a great job fixing my gas leak which was behind the wall and not in the connections to my dryer. They fixed the 2 leaks without tearing down much of my wall. Excellent!!
Andrew was fantastic. He was on time, repaired the water heater leak and also fixed the hvac problem. Very professional, honest, and efficient. I really appreciate his work and would definitely recommend him.
I called this company 2 weeks ago in the evening and they advised they would be here the next morning at 7:00 am. They didn't show up until 11:25 am and I didn't receive a call advising there was a delay. I was given a $20 discount instead of the $30 discount they advertise online. Now 11 days later I am having the same issue, when I called them I was advised they will have to get back to me and could not provide me with an ETA. In the meantime, I am not able to use my toilets or my washing machine, again. I contacted another plumbing company, Duane Blanton, who was here in less than 1/2 hour and they were able to fix my plumbing issues, correctly. My advice to you is to call either Duane Blanton or a different plumber as this plumber doesn't stand behind their work and I still have not received a call back, 4 hours later.
I know most people aren't going to read this whole thing, I wouldn't. All I have to say is use Ex-Stink at your own risk. If something goes amiss, they do not back up their work and are unwilling to admit to fault or submit insurance claims if there is an issue (which can easily happen with plumbing). I bought the $99 deal and had my main sanitary line rodded out by Ex-Stink on April 25, 2014. On Sunday, September 7, 2014, my sanitary line started backing up in my laundry room. The stack that needs to be accessed to rod the line is in a closet in my finished family room. When I went to clean the closet out, I noticed black mold on some items in the closet and realized that water had leaked through the cap on the stack that needs to be removed in order to rod the line. My carpet also has black mold all over it and is ruined. I also need to have someone assess whether I need drywall replaced or any other mold remediation done. It was obvious that the cap must not have been properly replaced and tested by Ex-Stink. For some background, I've lived in the house for almost 22 years, I have had the line rodded out at least 10-12 times (my house was built in 1963 and has clay pipes and I get roots from the tree in my parkway in the pipe) and this has NEVER happened. When I called Harold, the owner of Ex-Stink and explained the situation, he immediately became defensive and said it was not his problem and read the disclaimers on the back of the invoice I signed. Since it was a Sunday, I asked if he could come out to look at it on Monday. When he came out, he just took a look at it at said it wasn't his problem and that the cap is not meant to hold back the water(??). He said he could rod out the line again for $279. I told him to leave and got another plumber to rod the line out. The other plumber rodded the line, and put the cap back on. When he tested it by flushing a toilet, it leaked. He said the threads were gone on the inside of my pipe and put a product called Water Weld around the cap to prevent it from leaking. He said that the last plumber should have used a similar product and did not. The new plumber also said that, because I have a floor drain in my laundry room, when the water backs up the drain in the laundry room will relieve any pressure on the stack, which is another excuse Harold at Ex-Stink gave me (i.e., that the pressure from the back up caused the leak). These guys may have insurance, but they obviously refuse to file any claims or take ownership for the negligent work that one of their employees performed. I am filing an insurance claim and they may try to subrogate the claim against Ex-Stink but negligence is difficult to prove. I thought this was why contractors had insurance?
BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are very dishonest they sent a very unprofessional employee to our home to get a few things repair at our home through a big company called american home shield and the employee they sent lied and said my husband said they could not open the drywall to check for the problem my husband never said that to him he lied to his boss and he said to us if he opens the drywall to check the problem if the problem is not covered he will not fixed the drywall it will be our problem and then he continued to say they will be fixing the other problems we had then he said the drain in the bathroom tub because it is near a over hang (the drain pipe) which the employee that came out said he can't put a camera in there cause the cameras can only for a 3 inch pipe or larger and this pipe is only a inch and a quarter that they don't make cameras small enough to fit in a pipe that size, and because the drain is near a overhang the issue is the drain froze and cracked because there wasn't enough insulation so they won't cover it if this was a problem why doesnt this happen in the freezing cold weather and my house is 40 years old and my neighbor has the same house why didn't this happen sooner does not make sense to me at all he never even got to see the drain to access the issue. When the owner called me to discuss the repairs and he said what his employee had stated to him he lied about my husband saying they couldn't open the drywall to access my husband never said that at all.also the owner said because I was questioning why the drain would not be covered that he will make sure that all my other issues I had he will get them denied how professional is that just because I questioned his decision on the drain issue we had that he did not even see the drain pipe to access the decision. He was extremely rude BEWARE when you are using this company very very dishonest.I am having them have a professional plumbing company come out to access the problem correctly. American home shield said they were very unhappy to hear how this company treated our family and it is being escalated higher up,they were sorry for how poorly I was spoken to by the owner. Also I forgot to mention when I told the owner I will be contacting my lawyer for he said he will get all my repairs denied he said good cause we have a bigger lawyer how professional is that. SO SAD 😞
I contacted Harold the plumber to do work for my bed ridden mother whom I love and care for. Harold tried to make me feel confident and at ease convincing me my mother would be in good hands. Unfortunately this was totally opposite as he would not return calls or other correspondence for a week while I was forced to hire another plumber. Harold had agreed weeks before to pull a permit but kept coming up short. Our new plumber took only a day. When Harold did finally respond, he had no answer to his sudden disappearance except rage when I found out that he had gone out of town to visit his son since his lead plumber the did all jobs for Harold has actually quit days before leaving Harold unable to do the work but blaming it on the permit and calling everything hearsay and my fault. The work that was done was incorrectly drilled costing my mother several dollars in damage as well as open walls never discussed with me or needed. Harold's only defense so far has been that he lived very far from me and the job was an inconvenience. He also claimed that he never like to pull permits and usually worked in most towns without them. A very big violation of trust and codes. When an inspector for obtaining the permit come out to meet with Harold, he missed the time and claimed traffic was just overwhelming for him. That was extremely embarrassing and damaging leaving us in a precarious situation. My final conversation was not a good one as Harold as he was not letting me get a word out during the phone call and told me he'd be paying me a visit Monday as he hung up the phone. My mother and I are pretty shaken up and I can only say that I should have researched even more.
I have been an Ex-Stink customer for about 10 years. Over the last decade they have repaired a sewer line, added a clean out access, installed two water heaters, installed new faucets, unclogged a bathroom sink and annually rodded our sewer line! Every experience has been positive and I have always felt their prices were beyond fair. Most recently Harold came out to repair a toilet that was not flushing well and install a new faucet in our utility sink. Turns out the toilet was in worse shape than we realized. The manufacture date on the lid was November 1988! Harold said he'd repair it but we'd probably do better with a new toilet. The replacement faucet I bought for the utility sink was the wrong size so we were in need of a new faucet and a toilet. Our bathroom has a beige toilet, sink and tub. I'd love to renovate but that's a want not a need right now. Harold agreed to go to Home Depot and get the faucet and toilet but warned me it might be hard to find a beige toilet. I told him to just get white but knew it was going to make our out dated bathroom look even worse. Harold understood my disappointment and actually called me from Home Depot saying they had a beige toilet and asked if I preferred that! I thought that was so thoughtful and agreed immediately. Harold came right back and installed both the toilet and faucet on his own. Once again Ex-Stink came through for me! I highly recommend them! Shout out to Dave as well who does a great job rodding out our sewer line every year!
I don't write reviews that often anymore, but these people were polite and worthwhile putting a review out. For one there are a lot of bad plumbers - notably the other people I used who were not only terrible but actually threatened me and tried to get paid for doing a horrible job. Where ex stink both knows their stuff, is fairly honest and what they intend to do, and actually deliver on it. I actually had a situation after hours where they were very straightforward and recommended me things to resolve the situation so that they would not have to come out for the dispatch. To me, that represents ethics and integrity in business. They absolutely could have shut up a dispatch and come out to make extra money but instead the perspective was: here's the fix for you here's what I recommend you do call me back if that doesn't work. These are the kinds of people I will call back to do more work. This Is the kind of service that is deserving of work. Not random review farms which we know a ton of businesses do so that they have a good rating on yelp. Their prices are also fair, and they actually do fix problems and not just put a Band-Aid over it. 5 stars. I do not know that there's anyone else I would trust for plumbing anywhere around the McHenry area.
We bought our home in 2016 and to say the plumbing was ignored by the previous owners would be an understatement. Our basement flooded and both our sewer and storm lines were poorly constructed and have malfunctioned, causing us major problems. We came across Ex-Stink in 2020 and because of Dave and Mike's work, our entire plumbing system is in the process of a complete overhaul. I personally brought in multiple plumbing companies along the way for competitive estimates and Ex-Stink was always the least expensive. Not only that, their consultation and transparency made us comfortable to avoid a short term fix for our storm line, which would have been extremely expensive in the long haul. Mike's on the spot insight caused us to go in a different direction, which is going to save us plenty of time, cash, and headaches in the future. Bottom line, they have customers for life in us and there is zero reason for anyone in the surrounding area to use any other plumbing company. And they have the best name.
Best plumbers around! I had an unexpected emergency situation, and they showed up quickly and ready to help. From the start, they were professional, courteous, and clearly experienced. Not only were they prompt, but their pricing was also very fair, especially considering the urgency of the issue. What really stood out to me was their determination to fully fix the problem rather than just apply a quick temporary solution. They took the time to carefully assess everything, explained what was going on, and made sure I understood the repair process. It was clear they genuinely cared about doing the job right. They put in the extra time and effort to ensure everything was completely resolved before leaving, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. It’s not easy to find reliable and honest plumbers, but this team definitely exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of fast, dependable, and high-quality plumbing service!”
We had 2-3 inches of rain last night. Main sum pump and backup sum pump both failed. Basement got flooded. Tried calling emergency services late night but not much luck. Everyone says 24 hours emergency service but won’t respond or can do service after 12 hours or next day. Finally called FloRyte and spoke to Andrew, right away asked me the relevant questions and assessed the situation immediately. Quoted me a fair price and said I’ll be there in 45 mins since he was 30 mins away from my place. Came up at 12am, replaced the main pump and minimized the damage to a great extend. He got tons of experience, very knowledgeable and thorough professional. Explained everything about the sump pump. Will highly recommend him company to everyone and would use him for future needs without a second thought. Thanks Andrew, we appreciate your help a lot!
I had a great experience with FloRyte when we were dealing with basement flooding. From the moment we called, their team was responsive, professional, and reassuring during a really stressful situation. They arrived quickly, assessed the issue thoroughly, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. What really stood out was their attention to detail and how committed they were to not just fixing the immediate problem, but helping prevent future flooding as well. The crew worked efficiently, kept everything as clean as possible, and treated our home with respect. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. I highly recommend FloRyte to anyone dealing with water issues or basement flooding. Reliable, knowledgeable, and excellent service all around.
Phenomenal!! From the initial call to the receptionist who gave me the $109 sewer camera and rodding special to the on-site visit, I was thoroughly satisfied. David (the plumber who came out) was amazing. I've had 3 plumbing contractors come out to the home I just purchased to give me quotes on sewer rodding and make recommendations on existing plumbing system. I'm in Mount Prospect and this area and home are prone to sewer and sewage backups. The previous owners did not disclose the extent of backups the home would get in an average year. David not only did the work I asked for, but he went above and beyond by giving me an overview of the entire plumbing system without forcing any additional work. I became a more knowledgeable homeowner as a result of his overview. I will absolutely call them again.
Just purchased a house wasn’t in it for more than two weeks when started to have issues with water and waste backing up in the toilet and mechanical room drain. Called FloRyte to have them come and look at the situation they did a great job routing the pipes multiple times and still nothing worked. Andrew and his guys went above and beyond taking care of me. They dug up the outside pipe that went to the septic tank and realized the previous person had done it incorrectly. They tore it all apart, redid everything routed it from that point in and everything is working great now. I can’t think Andrew and Floryte enough for what they’ve done for me being a new homeowner. You’re stressed enough. They did an outstanding job. I would recommend them to everyone!
