I have had Five Cities Plumbing complete several major jobs for me in the last couple of years. They have ALWAYS responded & taken care of everything as soon as I call. Everyone is friendly & professional-I will ALWAYS depend on this company!
Very happy customer! These guys took care of business, done right the first time. Returning customer for sure! :)
To: Roto Rooter Supervisor - Santa Maria, California On September 9 & 10, 2014, your company employees: Rico Williams and his assistant "Stephen" performed plumbing work at my residence located in Santa Maria, California. I would like to commend both men for their diligence, professionalism, and polite manners while they worked inside and outside my residence. They performed their duties well, and did a commendable job during their cleanup, both inside and out. Please extend my sincere thanks to both men, and I also thank your for your kind assistance. I will certainly choose Roto Rooter in the future for my plumbing needs, and will recommend your services to my associates. Sincerely, Greg Diamanti Diamanti Investigations Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
BE WARE!! the gas company red-Tagged my water heater because the said it wasn't venting correctly and I needed a plumb to fix the problem.Roto- Rooter. came out and said that my piping was installed incorrectly and need to be taken out of the wall re-piped and that I needed a new water heater. all this for $5967.00 and the even wanted to charge me $29.00 for the bid!!!! I called Quality plumbing and Rick came out. got on the roof and fixed the problem for $149.00. I never write reviews but I just had to write this one. I'm sure the saw single old lady... what does she know. I know one thing Roto-Rooter's are a bunch of crooks.
I would give this company zero stars if I could. We had a simple drip drip leak in the bathroom wall that started to leak water into both bathrooms so we called this company based on a past reputation. If I had simply taken 5 minutes of my time to look at the reviews here and on the Better Business Bureau site, it would have saved thousands of dollars and mine and my family's future health. I called on a Monday, the repair tech showed up in late afternoon saying he was busy so he had to come back tomorrow; said he would call later on that evening to give a time frame but never called. Showed up at 11:30 am the next day for what he said would take one hour to fix. The 'sonar' people who are supposed to find the leak without cutting up your wall haphazardly said the leak was in the pipe he exposed in the upper wall; when the repair tech got there, he said the actual leak was coming from the ceiling. Long story short, the repair tech ended up punching a hole in our hallway popcorn ceiling from snapping a thin board he used to maneuver in our attic (the tech weighed over 200 lbs.) that most likely contains asbestos but their technician did not take any precaution to limit the spread of the toxic dust, assumed there was no asbestos when asbestos is invisible to the naked eye and did not care that this house was built before 1975, before asbestos was regulated as being a dangerous compound to either inhale or ingest in any amount. Even though the technician was not certified in drywall repair nor was he capable of making the assessment that the popcorn ceiling had no toxic asbestos, he decided to 'fix' the hole himself(not really asking our permission or taking caution to not disturb the ceiling more and release more toxic dust by consulting someone who can tell us for sure if there is asbestos) which was a 2 foot x 2 foot gaping hole by further sawing into the popcorn ceiling releasing plumes of toxic dust that is now making my family and I sick with respiratory issues. Supervisor I spoke to was not very helpful, didn't want to refund any of the $4000 we paid for a simple leak to have our home air tested for asbestos which would cost $325, insisted we use their company to fix the shoddy dry wall their technician put in that still left gaps because the hole is right next to the lighting fixture, damaged the attic entry cover which the tech failed to let us know, took 10.5 hours for the job that day and I noticed that we were missing a $6 box cutter and the supervisor said I was accusing his techs of being 'thieves' which never came out of my mouth; I only said it was missing from the entry way next morning and I use that box cutter to open delivered boxes almost daily which is how I noticed it went missing. Unfortunately, we didn't have our indoor security cameras set up so I could document all of this if we do proceed toward personal litigation in small claims. This company does not treat their customers in good faith, nor does it take responsibility for the damage that was caused to our home due to the negligence of their repair tech and causing us health issues due to the toxic dust that is now spread to every room in our home and that covers the furniture like snow and makes our throat burn, our eyes burn, sharp chest pain on inhaling, hoarse voices, not to mention a more than likely future of respiratory disease all over greed and bad business practice and unskilled technicians who cannot be trusted alone in your home. Now when we flush our toilets in both bathrooms we hear a rumbling, rushing water sound from either toilet and the seam of where the floor meets the wall in the shower bathroom was pushed out and separated after this repair happened, so now we are probably expecting more repairs and water leaking due to their technician most likely not attaching replacement pipe properly and further doing damage. Their technician also tried to sell us on water damage consult visit, said the pipe in our bathroom was black due to black mold but the copper pipe was black due to mostly oxidation from the air and being an older pipe; copper does tarnish over time; there was no fuzzy mold or growth on the pipe aside from the normal mold that would probably grow in a wet environment over the years. The point of this review is that we are now breathing in toxic air 24/7 and Roto Rooter does not want to even help by refunding half of the money we paid to get someone to test the air, to repair the damaged ceiling(we have to provide an estimate). If they wanted to treat their customers with good faith and good business practices, they would refund us most of the $4000 that they charged which probably would have cost us less than $1000 with a local plumber and no ceiling damage. They refuse to take ownership of the negligence from their repair technician. Repair happened in Santa Maria, CA
They replaced a faulty bathtub mixer cartridge on Jan 14, which began leaking at an alarming rate on Saturday Feb 21 (good solid flow as the valve failed to close). Couldn't reach them all weekend. Spoke with them Monday morning, kept saying they were sending someone out, then delayed multiple times and never came, said Tuesday first thing... no show / no call. Around 11am, I received a hostile phone call from the owner, Chad, accusing me of trying to get free work, refusing to pay, and pissing him off with multiple phone calls. Not sure how he arrived at any of those conclusions. I had simply asked the receptionist if they would guarantee their prior work (which was paid promptly on the day of service btw). Chad did eventually come out on Tuesday around 11, pushed past me at the front door and began demanding payment immediately before performing any work. I asked him to communicate with the home owner (who I had standing by on the phone), which Chad refused to do. Instead he left abruptly hurling profanity, yelling insults, and speeding away. Chad wouldn’t budge on his 30-day guarantee policy, even though the bath valve was becoming increasing difficult to fully shut-off since well within the 30-day window. Meanwhile my bathtub had now been hemorrhaging probably hundreds of gallons over 3 days. So my issue was not fixed and I was a bit shook by the unhinged way the owner suddenly raged quit. I called another plumbing service who came out in less than 1-hour and replaced the cartridge for $280. They also confirmed that Five Cities Plumbing had installed the prior cartridge incorrectly. Won’t be using this company again.
As a property management Co. We do a lot of business with plumbers. Finding a Professional one is really the challenge. Plumbing tends to be a business that people will over look customer service because they are desperate. Five cities Plumbing is one company that goes above and beyond as far as customer service. Angie, was very helpful in the office and the technician dispatch called me with numerous updates. He even went so far as to attend to an unrelated leaking hose bib for free and we all know how much we get charged for water here in California, so I was ecstatic and more than willing to compensate him for the hour of his time. The best plumbing company to call during normal business hours hands down.
Great, honest plumbing service. My wife was staying at my elderly mother’s house in the retirement trailer park across from the Pismo RV park and the drain clogged up. I called Roto Rooter and without even looking in the clean out access, they said it needed to be hydro jetted from the mobile home to the street. They quoted me $2,750 !! I told them no thanks and called Five Cities plumbing. They sent two guys out, they looked at the clean out and determined it was between there and the house. They ran a snake up and cleared the drain and were done in about half an hour, start to finish. I was happy to pay their $215 fee. Can’t thank or recommend them enough!!
Would give fewer stars if I could. Long story short I had them out to look at water heater whose pilot wouldn't light . Tech tried to light pilot for 1/2 hour said he'd need to go to the store to get a part. Then I offered to go pick up part so he could come back later and do the work. He called back later and suggested his boss told him I should look into warranty coverage. Tech texted me a video so I could do it myself, because I "seemed capable... WTF??! The tech never responded to my requests for an eta and when I called his office today they said the job was closed based on ME never having called back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
We’ve had a handful of experiences with local plumbers over the years, and not all of them were great. After one especially frustrating situation, we decided to call 5 Cities Plumbing based on recommendations from friends. I wish we had called them years ago! No hassle. No waiting around. No runaround or shady upsells like we’ve dealt with before. They were straightforward, honest, and actually fixed the problem the first time. What a relief to finally find a plumbing company that does exactly what they say they’ll do. From here on out, we’ll only be using 5 Cities Plumbing for any plumbing issues. Highly recommend.
Called to get a sewer line unblocked. They would not give any estimate of cost over the phone. Made an appointment for 1pm the next day. At 2pm that day, I called and was told the guy was stuck at another job. They called at 3pm to say he was on his way. He arrived two hours and 15 minutes after the appointment. I asked how much it was going to cost. He said it would be almost $300, and if they had to pull the toilet, it would be more than $500. The Roto Rooter guy I used for years never charged more than $100. Things have change with this company, and I will never call them again.
Chad Tanner and John Woodward of Five Cities Plumbing just did a terrific job rooting-out a clog in our drain, and no mess! I'm a pretty confident do-it-yourselfer, and tried unsuccessfully to do it on my own with a manual snake... after much aggravation, sweat, and stress I finally surrendered and let a professional do it. What a great decision! Less than an hour later and they're done and gone. Chad even took the time to recommend some simple monthly maintenance to keep everything clear. Great service, and stress-free. Thank you guys!
I had a stopped drain in my kitchen, which caused several problems. I called several plumbers in Lompoc, CA, and received a one--to two-day wait list for service and a rude attitude on the phone. I called Roto Router, and they came within the hour. Two plumbers (Jacob and Eric) arrived, and they went to work, evaluating my plumbing issues and quickly resolving them. Both men were professional and pleasant to work with.
I am very happy with Juan, who is the person who did the hard work of doing the excavations alone and worked under the sun for hours. An exceptional, professional, and respecful worker who should be rewarded with a raise. job very well done. The company does not give many ways of payments considering the cost of their service. After all, I would recommend their services because of their employee.
Set Appointment Thursday night for for Friday morning. Received a call from dispatcher giving me a window of 10-11am, at 11:45 I called to see where they were and dispatcher said they weren't able to come until later, she called me back and said they would be there between 4-6pm, they didn't show up. Now I get to go through a weekend with no toilet or pay overtime rates, don't waste your time.
