When I want my plumbing fixed, I'd like it to be fixed in a way that the problem does not come back. You get what you pay for and I'd rather pay a little extra up-front than pay twice when the first repair fails and it has to be done again. We have had excellent experience with Expert Services for Plumbing. Especially David and David, Chandler and Mika deserve shout-outs for the quality of their work, their explanation of what they were going to do and why and their recommendations. We had a MASSIVE disaster when our connection with the main sewer system broke. Mika rode to the rescue at short notice and the Expert team involved a disaster mitigation company and by the time I got back, everything was fixed and cleaned. David gave us great recommendations for our plumbing system and implemented them. Chandler replaced our water heaters and changed the configuration so that the chance of future water heater failure is much reduced. They work clean and are very competent. I will hire them again.

I have used this company for years- this is at least seven repairs on a 15-year-old house that has all the original appliances. They're always friendly, neat, and explain everything carefully so I understand. The work is always excellent and I recommend them to anyone

Mika was awesome! We had to get our sewer line replaced earlier this month and he did everything he could to get us the help we needed. The plumbing manager, Aaron, did great keeping us up to date on their communications with the city. The rest of the crew who came out to help (I think Lyric, Toni, and Brandon based on my texts, but there might have been more and I apologize if I missed anybody), were great as well--they were very polite and if they needed to discuss something with us they did a great job explaining it and making sure we were okay with everything. When they were done they spent a lot of time making sure our lawn was as good as they could make it before they left. I'm very happy with everything. Everything works great!

Quoted me $1600 for a new water heater for something I easily fixed myself in under 17 minutes for $60. But they were friendly and came to check it out quickly.... I get why now.

I called Expert Plumbing to do a few items to finish up a project at my home. 1. Install a toilet that I supplied 2. Install the trim on my shower (shower head & control) that I supplied 3. Change out a cartridge in a bathtub tub spout (they supplied) The price quoted was $707.50, I about choked but agreed as I had no other option but to get it done that day. It was a Monday, normal business hours. Worker was on time and did the job but the pricing is out of line. Fool me once but not again

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: Within hours of posting the original review found below, the technician and his manager, John and Jim, contacted me trying to get more details about my situation, apologizing, and wondering if they could be given an opportunity to get things done right for me. Sincerely, I was not sure I trusted them anymore so I initially passed on the offer and focused on getting a quote from a nationally known and reputable business. The quote came in and was in the $1,400 range with top of the line equipment and 12-year warranty. The only problem, I had to wait 2 days to get it installed. Next morning, the situation got out of control as my water heater interior components completely collapsed and water was now dripping out uncontrollably. I was now in basement flooding risk. So, after a second and more persuasive contact from the manager Jim, I decided to give them a shot and I am happy to say that they went ABOVE AND BEYOND trying to get me taken care of. They were patient, respectful, and extremely accommodating. I ended up getting the same equipment (Jim personally went to the competitor's store and texted me pictures to help me understand that what they were installing was exactly the same), warranty, and service than the larger company quoted me for less money and done within hours. I have decided to leave the original and updated reviews here for you to see the whole story but, IF THEY TAKE CARE OF ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS IN THE WAY THEY TREATED ME, YOU ARE DEFINITELY SAFE TO GO WITH THEM. PROPS TO JOHN AND JIM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING LEVEL OF SERVICE. WAY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS GUYS! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ORIGINAL ONE-STAR REVIEW: A couple months ago I noticed that my water heater valve was leaking and contacted this guys so they could check out the issue. People in Google said that this problem was common and that it should be easy to fix but, reviews in Yelp looked good and I wanted to make sure a professional verified that everything was ok. John from Expert Plumbing showed up and told my wife, specifically, that the water heater pressure was ok and that we just had a bad valve. We ended up paying $130 for him to replace the part and all was supposed to be good... A month later I called again Expert Plumbing to come and check for a gas leak because of an unrelated issue and, in the process, they again check the water heater and said that nothing was wrong with it. This, even when I saw some unusual thin rusty water leak marks coming out the top of the boiler and a lightly wet edge line at the base of the water heater. We again paid for the time spent checking things out and thought everything was ok... Yesterday, I went into our mechanical room and noticed the floor and adjacent wall all very wet. The water heater now full of thick rusty orange water lines coming from it. We called Expert Plumbing and John, the first time guy, came again and now said that the water pressure was too high and had broken the inside of the water heater requiring a full replacement for an initial estimate of almost $1,800. What? 1.8k dollars? What is wrong with this company? This time I decided to do more research and bring someone else to check the problem... it turns out that they were grossly trying to overcharge us and probably could have prevented the problem the first time they came. What a rip off, I don't know who is putting good reviews for this company. Do not use this people!

We had our AC unit replaced by Expert Services in Salt Lake City a couple of months ago, and it has been a nightmare ever since. The unit has broken down more times than I can count. Technicians from Expert Services have been out to our home repeatedly--sometimes staying as late as 1:30 in the morning--trying to troubleshoot the issue. As I write this, they're on their way out again because, once more, we're without AC. I spoke with Greg at Expert Services this morning. I voiced my deep frustration about: - Being left in the heat time and again with no lasting fix - Feeling like a guinea pig for endless patches and temporary workarounds instead of receiving a proper unit replacement - Having the crawlspace left open--after I explicitly asked it be closed--resulting in my dog falling in and injuring himself (not badly) - The fact that, even today, they're still attempting another workaround instead of replacing the faulty unit - The constant disruptions to our lives--having to repeatedly rearrange my schedule to accommodate their visits, being stuck at home when I'd otherwise be out, shifting my workday around their availability, having meetings or tasks interrupted, and canceling personal plans over and over again I've lost count of how many times they've been here. At this point, they may as well move in. Many more frustrations to list but the gist of it is we're left in the heat and no promise of this nightmare ending yet. Greg with Expert Services wasn't hostile, but he also wasn't particularly apologetic. He talked over me while I was trying to express my concerns--especially when I demanded they replace the unit. Instead of listening, he kept interjecting with his own frustrations, which didn't inspire confidence that customer care is a priority. I work in the service industry myself. If I had to return to the same job 5, 10, or more times, I would be falling over myself to apologize and find a permanent fix. In fact, I wouldn't have allowed a job to get this far gone without making it right. I debated between giving a 1-star or 2-star review. I chose 2 stars because I do believe the techs are doing their best--they're clearly stumped and not malicious. But the repeated breakdowns, the lack of accountability, and the insufficient customer communication have worn me down. If you're a potential customer reading this, I highly recommend shopping around before booking with Expert Services.

Chose any other plumbing service. I cannot begin to describe the con game that their plumber brought into my home. How despicable is a company that will lie to your face and when you ask more questions because it doesn't feel right, he makes you feel like a stupid female. I called the company because I had a leaky bathtub faucet. Fairly straightforward fix. The plumber spun this whole web of lies telling me that because I have an older home (Sugarhouse homes are 1935-ish but built extremely well) my water pressure valve had to be replaced. I asked why since we had no issues with our water pressure. He said "oh I measured the pressure outside and it's 75. You definitely don't want it that high". I asked him several times If this was really something I had to do since the leak seemed straightforward. "Oh yes. And when I put the pressure valve on, there's a good chance it will fix the leak". $450 he said. After he installed the part I did not need -- The leak was of course still happening. How much to fix a simple faucet leak? Another $450 of course. What a scam! I have hired a lot of contractors as we own a couple properties and I have never encountered a company so incredibly unethical. How do companys survive when they are so dishonest? I am out $900 as I didn't follow my gut and this despicable person took full advantage. You don't have to be a victim of this scam. Call anyone but this horrible company!

I am SO disappointed! We have used Expert twice in the past and had great experiences with them. But, we had someone come out to replace a leaking water heater that was still under warranty in February and feel like we were RIPPED OFF. When the technician gave us the quote it seemed high, but because we trusted the company from before, we went with it. I reviewed our invoice to see the breakdown of charges and there was none...just a lump sum. Very different from the other technicians that had serviced our house before. I called the office and asked for an itemized invoice. They sent one over. I called back and asked to talk to a manager because the labor price as it was written was around $800 an hour! The secretary said she would have the technician call me. No one called me back for a few days. I called again and the secretary said she would have the service manager call. I then received a text message from the technician sayin that they could not give me an itemized invoice (He lied. I already had one) and said they just did lump sums for services. See screenshot below. He told me to reach with more questions...I did and told him I had an itemized receipt and felt taken advantage of. He never responded. We will NEVER use them again.

Very disappointed with this company. Looked on yelp to see which businesses had some great reviews and reached out to several. This company at first seemed great, but unfortunately seemed to forget they had already told me they were scheduling me. This message is from Jim through Yelp "Great! We'll book it at 4:30pm then. I'll create an account for you to book the appointment. Can you please provide me with your complete name, address, phone number, and email address?" I received another email that said should we book this for a time between 4-6? when they had already said they were booking this slot for me. I provided all of the information they asked for and today when I wrote them to confirm, they said the appointment is not available. Very disappointing as I had called several companies to come out and give me a bid on this electrical project. Why promise an appointment and then go back on what you have already said? While they may have quite a bit of great reviews, if you say you are scheduling me and then do not actually do so, and try to schedule me for a different day other than what we discussed, then apparently this job was not that important to you.

Our furnace broke on December the 30th. Real bad timing. Jim came and worked super hard on trying to get it back online. The circuit board was fried. Jim was thorough in trying to give us as many options and as much information as he could. He didn't push for any particular option and clearly just wanted to help us. We decided to go with a new furnace. On January the second Justin was in our doorstep first thing in the morning. He did a terrific job replacing the furnace. After he was done everything was clean and organized. This is the third time we have used Expert Services, and we have been satisfied every single time. They are great! January 2025 update: This is the fourth time we use Expert services in our house for a big project. Since my original review the AC went, the main line broke and the water heater started leaking. Our house is almost 100 years old, so this kind of thing happens. Every time Expert Services has done an OUTSTANDING job. Toda Matt came and install a new water heater, he was timely, fast, and professional. I cannot say enough good things about this company and all the people that work for it.

I have an 100 year old home in SLC and had a sewer back up in the basement on a Friday night. We had a plumber clean it out twice but he said the sewer pipe needed to be replaced. Online I requested a estimate from Expert Plumbing and the same evening they texted me back with some questions and requested the video from the plumber. We made an appointment for a visit on Monday. I met with a technician, Poncho, and he was amazing. He explained the process and was so professional. The cost was reasonable and they worked hard to get me on the schedule as fast as possible. They were the most professional and caring company I have ever worked with. They went the extra mile in every way possible and made sure we understood every aspect of the job and any issues that came up. Their recommendations were always spot on and every change that was needed was performed quickly, reasonably, and professionally. I would recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC, sewer or furnace repair.

BEWARE OF PREDATORY BUSINESS TACTICS. Expert Services contacted me to schedule a “routine furnace tune up” as part of my paid membership benefits. The tune up resulted in the technician red-tagging and turning off my furnace. He claimed dangerous CO leak (over 14ppm), gas leak, cracked heat exchanger, and several other issues, suggesting a full furnace replacement for almost $6k. Luckily I got a second opinion. Two independent licensed technicians evaluated the same furnace within 24 hours and found: - No gas leak whatsoever - No cracked heat exchanger - CO levels consistently at or below 4 ppm (normal indoor range) verified on multiple calibrated devices - A functioning furnace that ran normally aside from the dirty air filter I shared these concerns about my experience with Expert Services but they were extremely dismissive. I would not recommend this company or trust any diagnosis they give without getting a second opinion.

A class act. These guys have their systems well worked out, and their service tech (Chandler) was a pleasure to work with. I requested a project via Yelp--a clogged kitchen drain which had been giving us problems for awhile). Expert Services was the first to respond (a few minutes), they communicated clearly and quickly at all times, they gave me a timeframe for the appointment, and they showed up early. Chandler got right in and did the job (plus one little thing extra which I really appreciated), and he took the time to explain what he found, which helps us understand what we are dealing with long-term. we requested a quote for a separate electrical project, and saw their system at work through that project as well, and the service was the same high-quality. They built trust, the value was reasonable, the service was excellent, and we have our lives back. :-) I definitely recommend them.

Had expert services out twice in December 2023. First had them install two replacement bath exhaust fans that I had purchased. This took about 2 hours to complete and was charged about $390 or at a rate of $195/hr. Super excellent work fast efficient and very professional. Then had them return as had a short in one of the fans which they were able to rewire to combine with light switch, problem solved great work BUT was a first charged $860 for the 1 1/2 hr it took. Thought that was way too high. After 3 calls requesting a justification finally a manager called and said sorry wrong "code" was used and refunded about $300. Even with that I paid just over $500 for a 1 1/2 hr job or $340/hr. Still an outrageous amount. Very high quality work but feel ripped off by price and lack of transparency to justify it. For this reason will not be using them again.
