When we had an unexpected water leak in our front yard, Ethical Plumbing was able to come out promptly to assess and quote the issue. At nearly half the price of the competition, we were able to have it repaired, plus they were honest to refund a portion of the job that ended up not needing to be done. Grateful for their quick, quality work, ethical policy, and work ethic.
I am so pleased with the service from Ethical Plumbing. The friendly customer service I received from the phone staff when I scheduled the appointment and followed up with them later was outstanding. I needed a dishwasher installed. Plumbers Tristan and Asher were both polite and professional. Their thorough work ensured a job well done. When a couple unforeseen obstacles were experienced, their patient response was exemplary and appreciated. Thank you!
If you are looking for a good company with real people that care and do a fantastic job, look no further. We had such a good experience. Every point of contact was timely and I really enjoyed speaking to the ladies at the office as well as our technician being professional and really good at his job. I will not be using any other company for my plumbing in the future, they are permanently in my contact list!
Not sure how they can call themselves ethical. Quoted me over $5,000 for basic gas water heater replacement when mine suddenly went out. I Used R&K Plumbing LLC for $2,000 and they did an excellent job.
If you want to overpay by a long shot, go with them. They quoted me $8,000 for a tankless water heater for my home. $1500 to fix a leak on my water heater -which they added a bunch of other things to. I got another quote from a different company $4000 tankless water heater and $300 for the same thing ethical quoted $1500 for. The guy that came out kept going into massive detail of useless things that I didn't need nor did I call about. . If I call you for a leak, just tell me what's causing it and how to fix it. People beware!!! Oh and they charge a useless $89 fee just to come out!!
Just had a full house repipe done by Ethical on my 1968 original house I'm renovating, that had and old copper and cast iron system. 3200SF house with 3 full baths. Three day job, finished July 3, 2025. I put some research into local plumbing companies, shortlisted three top-notch candidates. Ethical was a total unknown and not a front runner. They got the job because they were the only contractor who could properly dial in the scope on their estimate for this rather complex re-pipe. Full disclosure: I create custom bid management and subcontractor evaluation software for a large CM firm as my day job, so I tend to get very involved in vetting and procuring subs/contractors. Tristan @Ethical - man, you just nailed it. Absolutely the best scope assessment experience of the bunch, by a mile. Tristan also tee'd up the team of Ivan and Colin for success by transferring his knowledge of my project to them first-hand, on site. What followed was three days of excellent work, including going the extra mile to get better results in terms of pipe routing and overall system quality. Per my request, they left all the copper and brass for me to recycle to my benefit. Absolutely stellar experience in terms of communication, work quality, and competitive pricing. New system is great, fantastic volume, flow, pressure, and no hiccups. All PVC, Pex-B, poly fittings, stainless cinch clamps, ball valves, future stubouts where I wanted them, and zero shark bites. This was a hard job to get right, and I knew it would be. The original drain was 3" copper, and replacing that with PVC of a different (larger) diameter is no small feat. I highly recommend Ethical Plumbing - one of SC's best trades companies according to my experience.
My home is a 1930 home. I had the water lines replaced 25 years ago.. the CPVC was starting to show some cracks I called and Brenden came and was incredible.. patient.. informtive.. I had many things I needed to happen because the old home is not like new homes.. he was sensitive about my concerns. In order to not hit the sewer lines we had to send a camera down the sewer to radiograh where and how deep.. my worst fear for 20 years came true. The sewer was collapsing in places... Stephanie in the office was absolutely fantastic! Kind and super helpful! Just an incredible business!! I was absolutely freaking because ive had some horrible plumbers and contractors.. but I decided to do it. I had many spots that were important to me and lots of questions. Brendan was incredible and patient Scott was in charge of alot of the work and with his team of Mitchell.. Dorion.. Tony..and himself were incredible.. they never took breaks.. they worked and welcomed my questions and allowed me to actually participate in this huge project that involved drain and sewer..and supply lines. I've been uneasy about this for 20 years.. its done and I have a 10 year warranty on labor and anything that they redid. Ill definitely be using them as my plumbing company for many years. Oh.. and they are very respectful of the client and didn't say " well little lady..." So for those who have big projects like this... use them!!! Small projects too. Always punctual and on time and knew their trade Thank you! Leslie L.
We had Ethical come out after having had several plumbers out for diagnosis/quotes when our water heater went out. We were prepared to have to go tankless based on consistent feedback, but when the company we were using sent 2 technicians out who openly admitted they had been sent without the details of the job, and had never tapped into gas and done that type of install before, we had to send them packing and go back to the drawing board in our search. I will say that we originally contacted Ethical about quoting the gas tankless water heater install and were told they'd be happy to assess and quote it, however was told when they were at our home that they actually do not do tankless installs. The good news, however, is that they checked out the existing electric water heater that had gone out and let us know that A) the water heater was not nearly as old as we had been told by previous companies, it appeared somewhat new and in good condition and B) it appeared to have been a DIY install by previous owners and had a jacked up wiring job that wasn't to code. They felt it was very possible that it was simply the electrical that was the culprit and may have several more years of life if that was the case. They recommended an electrician who came out and -BINGO!- that was exactly the problem. I appreciate their honesty and that they looked for the simple solutions before jumping to the major ones. This saved us thousands of dollars! We will definitely use in the future for our plumbing needs.
Ethical plumbing came out last year after thinking my toddler flushed a toy down the toilet causing a clog we couldn’t fix ourselves. The plumber wanted to replace the whole toilet for something crazy like $800+. If we bought our own toilet to save money They wanted to up charge installing the toilet because it wasn’t theirs. The toilet started working a few days later. And still works just fine today. Then yesterday a lady from the office called asking if a plumber could come out for a water heater maintenance treatment for a charity fundraiser. I politely declined. The woman on the phone was apparently not in the mood to take no for an answer. So she started grilling me as to why I said no. “Why not?! Do you not support this children’s charity!?” What an incredibly rude and entitled question. I explained to this woman that my father in law is a retired contractor and was just recently visiting from out of state and looks at all our systems to make sure they are operating well. And we don’t need the service. She then said “well since it’s for charity. Why don’t you just let us do it anyway” After I said no for the THIRD time. She seemed appalled and said “well you’ve made it clear you don’t want this” I’m sorry. But I didn’t realize plumbers were the new age used car salesmen. I find the name “Ethical” plumbing ironic. And will not be using this company again.
I live in California, and I recently hired Ethical Plumbing to install a water main and sewer lateral line to a house in Taylors. This project was particularly stressful since I was having to arrange everything from several thousand miles away, but they took away all of the stress related to the water and sewer lines. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. From start to finish, Alisa communicated exceptionally well, responding quickly to my phone calls and emails and keeping me informed about each step of the process. Brandon was great as well. He went the extra mile, took initiative and requested that the sewer utility allow us to tie into an existing lateral line near the street. I had no idea that this was even a possibility, but this extra effort on his part saved me around $10k. Dominick and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to get this project finished in spite of the hot weather. The job went smoothly, quickly, and they left our property neat and clean. All three of them were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process. On top of all this, Ethical Plumbing was less expensive than the other quote that I received for this project. I can't thank them enough, and I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in the Greenville area.

Called this morning because a toilet was running at my home and the shutoff valve wasn’t working. The lady I spoke to was very nice and got someone out quickly. Great. When he gets there he quotes me $1554… insane. The price break down had replacing the toilet at $1092 which is insane but whatever. He gave me the option to rebuild the inside replacing the fill valve and flapper which would have been $357. Why on earth would it cost that much to install $25 worth of parts in 20 minutes!? But I digress. We agree he would fix the shutoff valve and he went to his van. I get a call that the toilet is now overflowing and there’s water everywhere which was not happening before. To say I’m annoyed would be an understatement. He did the work and I have another plumber coming Friday to replace TWO toilets for far less than the one would have cost. For a company to be named “ethical” pluming there is absolutely nothing ethical about that outrageous pricing and again, it got worse after he looked at it.
Edit: The quote was from this place it was just under my girlfriend’s name. Secondly they didnt even offer to touch the cast iron they just said they couldn’t do it. The water under the house was 100% from a hole in the cast iron wye fitting that was for the sink and tub drains. Once that was fixed nothing else would have been needed definitely not a permanent sump pump. I was quoted 20k to replace all the cast iron pipes in my house and was told they were worried to snake the two sinks that were clogged up due to them potentially breaking the pipes. That’s why they wanted to replace all the pipes. I was told I needed a sump pump because I have standing water under the house and it must have been from the rain of hurricane Helene. Ultimately I hired another plumber because the standing water was due to one pipe joint in a drain busted. They fixed that joint and snaked the two drains and everything was fixed for 600 bucks.
Had a major leak behind a wall. I asked the scheduler if cutting into walls and repair was something they could do. Absolutely was the reply. Scott and a new trainee showed up, stood and looked at the area where the sound of running water emanated from and walked outside and placed extended phone calls. They came back and suggested a "restoration" company. I needed a plumber and was misled to believe that the second company could help. Made an appointment. They showed up 6 hours late with no warning or excuse and offered no help with the leak. Afterwards, "Ethical," as they call themselves, charged me almost $200 for doing absolutely nothing more than tossing a referral to a company that was no help, either. I don't approve of being charged for rendering no service whatsoever. I was eager to start and ready to pay. I was offered no solution yet I paid heavily for absolutely nothing.
The single shower faucet handle was turning on to the left and right; it should only turn one way on and turn back to off... not past stop/off and back on again. Ethical sent a couple of plumbers and... after 15 mins. they couldn't get the handle off. One little screw that holds it was stuck/worn. They said they might need to cut off the handle with a saw. I said no. I paid $39 service visit fee. I used my own (regular shaped) allen wrench set, a little gorilla glue and scotch tape. I glued the end of the allen wrench into the handle's screw. A few hours later, the screw loosened right up and the handle came right off. I called another plumber and after looking it over... it needed a new part (a part that has a handle stopper built in; old stopper part was broken). It will end up costing about 1/3 of what Ethical would have cost... if they had cut the handle off.
