I am forever grateful to Jody who remediated our dire situation with our sewer on Christmas Eve. She and Elvis stayed until they could find a solution to the blocked sewer that was sending sewage into the basement laundry room sink and beyond. Jody did not give up when others would have and found a creative solution and stayed until after 7PM on Christmas Eve to do it. It was a difficult job and they both went well beyond what others would have done. She was the right person for the situation. Jody is excellent. Her knowledge, compassion, hard work, and determination was not 5 stars worthy but 10 stars worthy! Elek received documentation including photos and video so they can access a permanent repair for our sewer. I trust them and I am confident that we will be well taken care of. I highly recommend Elek Plumbing!!!!
The definition of professionalism This was probably the best experience I've ever had with a service related company. From my initial contact with the company, to the dispatch of the service technician, each person was well spoken, polite, knowledgeable and professional. The time from my initial call to the time the technician arrived was under 2 hours (2 days before Christmas!) I was kept informed as to the time the technician would arrive and informed of the work that needed to be done and how much it would cost. The technician was obviously experienced and very knowledgeable. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The technician at my request, did more work than was originally requested and was eager to make sure I was satisfied with the work he did before he left. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied, and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone I can.
Orion was very professional and stayed here until everything was working great. I will only request Orion.
Called Elek Plumbing for drain clogged, I had one of the online coupons for $50.00. They said the guy that comes will give us a price. I asked if I could use the $50.00 coupon they said yes just give to technician. When he came he quoted an outrageous price to run a snake. We said no, The charge to come out was $99.95 but I had the $50.00 coupon the operator said I could use. The technician said I couldn't use it because I didn't approve for them to do the job. They are liars, cheaters..... DON'T CALL THEM IN THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! Update: Called and complained and they said they will refund us the $99.95. Just read coupon closely and be careful with this company!!
I had Elek do a large job for me in the 80s, did a great job. Fast forward to 2021, I called about a leaky faucet in my bathroom. They asked for 100 dollars to come out and look and give me an estimate. My 100 dollars would be deducted from same. I get why you can't work for free, no money no business. I called in January. I never heard a word, no call nothing. I am 72 years of age. I simply can't spend 100 bux for zilch. Stay tuned, I called for a refund. I'm waiting for a call...
I should have gone with Agentis, terrible experience. I have paid Elek over $25K between this project and the last one, and that has not earned me the right to be treated like a person and a neighbor instead of just a number. They were supposed to coordinate with another contractor, and I personally confirmed all the details to their crew the day on the install, only to have them ignore the instructions and then blame the other contractor. They have left a massive 8 foot hole right by my house that they had agreed to fill, and now refusing any liability for it. It would literally cost them a couple hundred bucks out of the $11K I paid them this time around, but keeping a customer and keeping their word is not as important as a percentage point or two of margin. UPDATE: After I posted this, the GM called me and apologized, and sent someone out to fill in the hole. They filled it, but didn't tamp it down, so I had to rent a machine to do it myself. I didn't even bother calling again, insane that I had to go to such lengths to get any kind of resolution, and then still wasn't done right. The GM claimed he didn't know about the situation until the review, but I spoke with both the office manager and the field tech on multiple occasions, and they both fended me off each time saying the GM is reviewing it and has to make the call, and when it was denied, they claimed that he had made the decision and there was nothing they could do about it. I don't appreciate being lied to, even if it comes with an apology. Will not be doing business with them again, and recommend no one else try them either.
I’ll try to keep this review short although I could easily write pages of positivity and accolades. I’m currently at a friend’s home recovering from a serious femur fracture. My house sitter called to let me know that all drains in the house were clogging and the toilet would not flush. I called Elek (now my “go to” plumbing company)and they promptly sent Jody to check out the issues. She found the problems and while on FaceTime, clearly explained everything to me along with solutions. Some relatively simple fixes and others a bit more time consuming. Both the toilet, bathroom sink and kitchen sink have had off and on problems for at least 18 years with quick fixes by other companies that did not last. Finally Jody solved the mystery! Knowing my situation (needing to use a walker and cane)she suggested a comfort height toilet (which I’ve never heard of), and to replace my non-working garbage disposal which was a big reason my kitchen sink drain never fully drained. Jody was patient with me and helped me to choose the toilet and disposal from afar. Within days she was back to install the toilet (it arrived from a big box store cracked) so she took care of that calmly and went and got another toilet from Elek’s warehouse with the same specs the same day! All sinks and a new toilet running well! Talk about above and beyond!!! Her kindness, knowledge, ability to think on her feet, and patience were a gift during a difficult time in my life. Thank you Jody and the staff at Elek as well. Erin Goga
This review is long overdue and I apologize for that. Elek assisted us with our sewer lateral repair related to the sale of our home in Emmaus (Emmaus borough code requires a sewer lateral inspection and repair if necessary to sell a home). At any rate, we contacted Elek as they had always been great in the past with other plumbing related services. This time was no different and their crew went well above and beyond. Brady and his gang (Dax, Scotty, Jon K., Derrick and Paul) were professional, polite, informative and very hard working. Don't let me forget their "Dig Crew" who showed up bright and early on a Saturday morning. Their attention to detail was second to none. Elek provided us with a reasonable quote, and stuck to that number even when they had to bring in additional equipment and do more work that was not anticipated. It ended up being a big job but they handled it very well and did it right, all for the agreed-upon price. This all occurred back in May and again my apologies for providing this review so late, but we were caught up in our move. If you live in the greater Lehigh Valley, need plumbing assistance and want top notch service at a reasonable price, give Elek a call... You won't be disappointed. Thank you Elek...
First off I never have written a review here. I requested service from Elek Plumbling. Not a rush job but wanted to get an outside spigot replaced if they had time. It was great that came out the same day. I requested a estimate on the phone and was advised that the tech would let me know before the work was started. There was a $69 truck roll fee that needed to be paid even if I did not have any work preformed. Once the tech showed up he looked at the job and stated there is a flat rate fee for the work of over $300. God, looking at this problem the job should have taken no more then 30-40 mins and parts where around $40. The parts where not on the truck and to run to the store. Came back and work was compete in short order. The tech did not test the work and when I hooked up a hose the spigot was leaking everywhere. Had another tech dispatched to fix the problems. What gets me is the fact I asked for a price and was not given one on the phone even though it was a flat rate job, yet was still on the hook for the $69 if I did not want the work done once I found out the price. The price of the work was, in my opinion, more then double what should have cost. I will say that the techs where professional as well as the call takers.
I have a backyard project coming up, and I needed to know where my sewer lines were under my property. I called around to a few local companies, was quoted over $500 by one group, called Elek for a quote, and was quoted a price nearly half of that for the exact same service the other company was going to charge double for. Calling and scheduling was a breeze, the folks answering the phones are fantastic and answered, or found the answer, to all the questions I had. On the day of service, Orion showed up promptly during the window of arrival that I was given. He was friendly, personable, and respectful of my property. Of course I had more questions for him, and he happily answered them all. Orion ran into a few obstacles when attempting to scope out my sewage line, and for a moment, it seemed like we might not be able to do the complete job. But he persisted and found a way to make it work. The peace of mind he was able to give me was priceless so that I could move forward with the next steps in my backyard project. I cannot say enough good things about him and I am thankful he stuck it out through the job. Massive appreciation to Orion!
Requested a quote for rough plumbing of 2 apartments. This was for running water lines and drains for 1 bath and 1 kitchen for each unit. The quote was for rough plumbing only which includes water lines and drains to each kitchen and bath. It did not include water heaters, faucets, showers , baths tubs, sinks or toilets. The quote came in at $45,000 dollars to complete what would amount to 2 days work at the most! The water lines, drains and connectors are very inexpensive. The labor worked out to about to about $2800/hr! This was probably the most expensive quote I ever received in my 50 years of dealing with contractors. I hope if you consider this contractor you get a few quotes to compare! When I emailed the company to express my shock at the quote. I was told to contact the company to discuss the quote. I emailed back the quote and asked how this could possibly be a reasonable quote! I never heard back by email or phone call! Be careful, it seems like the company throws out absurd bids in the hope of no one is checking competing bids! BTW.....the bid was nearly 8 times higher than the median bid of $6000!!
I recently had a frozen pipe burst in my house. I called Elek plumbing and Elvis came out to my house and was extremely professional and friendly. He explained the problem that caused the pipe to break as well as explained everything he was going to do. He replaced all the pipes in the area of the outside hose bib as they were old and likely to fail as did the pipe that already burst. As well as installing a new shut off valve and frost free pressure releasing hose faucet to help prevent this from happening again. Once he was done, he did a walk through with me of all the work he completed as well as show me the piping that he took out of the wall and showed me exactly where all the faulty solder joints were. He even called me after he left to ensure that I had a space heater set up to ensure that the pipe didn’t freeze again while I waited for my wall and insulation to be repaired. He was fast, efficient and, friendly. I am super appreciative of Elvis and Elek as they helped me during this time and will definitively be using them in the future. I recommend Elek to anyone that needs emergency or non-emergency plumbing work.
Yesterday I had a very stressful day trying to find a plumber to help me with my leaking hot water heater with no luck. Those other companies were all booked and would not be able to help me for several days. So this morning I called ELEK Plumbing and they immediately sent me a team of two plumbers. I was so impressed at the speed at which they came. David and Jody are wonderful people, a great team! I felt so comfortable having them in my home because they are so warm hearted and so very professional. They immediately knew what was going on with my water heater and explained my options which was limited because of the condition of the water heater. Their pricing for a new water heater is competitive and easy on my budget. I agreed and they immediately sprung into action and it was amazing how little time it took them to install it. I am so impressed with their work and their work ethics . . . They cleaned up the area so well that now it's the cleanest area in my basement! LOL. Thank you for sending me such a Great team. You should know they do your company Proud . . . I'm proud of them too!
I have used this company 3 times and I couldn’t be more pleased every time. First 2 times were because of a clogged main sewer they came out and we thought everything was resolved but said if we need to come back next day no problem and stuck their word with everything. Today my hot water heater went and I reached out hoping there was some fate on my side and luckily enough Elvis and his crew were available within 30 mins to come and install. When he came out he immediately remembered us from the clogged drain and our crazy dogs! He is so patient with explaining things and giving an understanding with problems. He doesn’t rush through anything to just “ get the job done” he takes quality time to ensure and double checks everything as he goes. He really should be recognized for his hard-work and how he interacts with customers because he truly goes above and beyond like it’s his own home. Also he has so much respect for his crew as well and that definitely shows he’s a leader when he is training new employees!
We started our initial contact with Elek Plumbing on Tuesday, after a drain clog in our basement needed attention. We knew we had upcoming work on our plumbing in our future, but after a less-than-ideal experience with another company, we were hesitant to commit. As it turns out, the drain was stubborn, took a while to get it cleared, but we were operational again soon and received a proposal by the week's end for the remaining work that needed to be done. The proposal was a fair price, we don't feel like we're being gouged, and all the staff we dealt with from the scheduling to the sales manager were understanding and sympathetic to the needs of a homeowner. Our realtor originally suggested we call Elek and I'm glad we did. Thank you all for your speedy response to our initial call, for being there when we needed you, and for committing to taking care of our home's needs. We really appreciate it. Looking forward to working with you in the future.
