Our verdict
Coblentz Plumbing holds 4.7★ on 526 reviews with 86% positive sentiment across 88 analyzed — strong water heater and after-hours sump work, but $600 for a failed 21-minute drain attempt and billing-after-refusal incident are serious red flags.

What reviewers praise
After-hours sump pump emergency: Brett came out Sunday night to diagnose, then returned first thing Monday morning to replace and upgrade the system.

“Brett is amazing! We have a lot of water on our property and its imperative that our sump pumps, which run a lot, are functional. Sunday night the main pump was having issues. Brett came out after hours and spent a good bit of time trying to determine why we are getting so much water and what he could do to keep our pump running until they could get out to replace it this week. He truly cared about our situation and came out first thing this morning to replace and upgrade our systems! It's nice to know we can always count on Coblentz Plumbing!”
Meticulous tankless water heater upgrade — named 4-person team replaced a 28-year-old electric with a tankless gas unit; workmanship praised as superb.

“Great experience with Coblentz! Amazing team from the beginning-Randy, Matt, Alex and Zack. Very professional and did a superb job, while also being meticulous with the whole process of replacing my 28 year old electric water heater, with a tankless gas water heater. I would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs!”
Whole-house water and drain line replacement with minimal wall damage; communicative tech praised by name.

Red flag
No-showed original commercial appointment; when customer hired another plumber and notified Coblentz, a tech still arrived uninvited, repeatedly tried to gain entry on video, then sent a bill for no work performed.
“No-showed the original appointment to a business. After I hired another plumber, I notified them I no longer needed service on the confirmation call which was 4 days after the no-show. Irregardless, a technician still arrived 15 minutes after I notified them of my other very responsible plumber being awarded the commercial contract. I spoke with him outside, told him I no longer needed service, and did not allow entry. Instead of leaving he proceeded to try to gain entry to the house several times via failed sales pittches. All on video. No diagnostic or repair was performed, but I later recei”
Red flag
$600 charged for 21-minute failed drain attempt; customer reported to BBB alleging tech targeted her as a woman home alone.
“Got here quickly and explained everything we needed and got the job done! Thanks to Coblentz and Bret for all the help today…. Update!! Did this review while service guy was there! Long story short nothing was fixed but yet my husband goes and rents an auger and does it first try! 600$ to them for 21minutes of service!! Said they used pro auger etc that goes out 12 feet but obviously since I'm a woman and was home alone they took advantage. Guy was nice but we feel super scammed at this point and are reporting this to BBB”
$600 charged for 21 minutes of drain auger service that did not fix the problem — homeowner resolved it first try with a rented auger afterward.

Critical
“John was very professional, efficient, kind and well versed in explaining his expertise in his trade. I would recommend him to anyone. Update: after scheduling more services Koblentz sent out more men the next week and they did their work. However, when I came home there was a leak. So I called them up and they came out the same day at night and said they would have to charge me $500 to fix the leak and that they …”
“I contacted Coblentz Plumbing (Hartville) because I believed they were an honest, trustworthy local company that would have my best interests in mind. I grew up in the Uniontown/Hartville area, went to Lake High School, and had always heard good things about the Coblentz name. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to that reputation. I originally called them after having a new Rheem water softener …”
“My problem is not with their work. From what I can see it was quality. The problems I have is over charging and trying to upcharge. Their quote for a hot water heater was $1000 higher than the other estimate I got but I was under a time crunch and was forced to agree to their price. I did not understand they were also installing an overflow tank, I think I needed it but do not understand why it was installed. I …”
Positive
“They did a wonderful job on our main water break. Was done very quickly and we are very satisfied with the work! Would recommend them to anyone!!!”
“John Becker and the crew that did the work with him were phenomenal. They replaced all the water and drain lines into entire house, with minimal wall damage. He was kind, respectful, and very communicative. Thank you!”
