Moreau was my technician and he was outstanding. Exceeded expectations. He went above and beyond to do the job right even though he had to stay until 9pm to finish. He was cordial and friendly the entire time and was kind to my kids as well. Exceptional job. If I could leave more than 5 stars in a review, I would.

Brian did a great job replacing my water heater. He was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly explained the entire process from start to finish. The installation was efficient and clean, and he made sure everything was done right. I really appreciate his attention to detail and straightforward communication. Highly recommend Brian for quality plumbing work!

I hired Benjamin Franklin for a water heater replacement. Upon arriving, the plumber surveyed the job and quoted me for about $2,000. I asked the plumber "does this price include the electric work that needs to be done?" He responded with yes and called for an electrician from his company to come out - all of this is stated in my invoice from them. Once the electrician shows up, he said the additional labor will be $900+! I quickly called the company and was told by customer service that I already paid and they will contact the tech to clear up any confusion. After some back and forth, the manager decieded to retract the tech and quoted me an additional $900 to get the job, that I already paid for, completed. Now I have to waste my time filing a court case AND hiring someone else to complete their work. I will never use Benjamin Franklin again, and I will certainly not recommend them to anyone.

Ben franklin plumbing!!! Save your money and shop around. This company can not provide any information or qoute a ballpark figure with out showing up and charging a $49 service fee. Immediately upon arrival was able to provide the highest estimate of over a $1000 dollars for a new hot water heater with install. Not a good business. You will not get a fair offer. Shop arround and get estimates by phone and avoid paying a service call fee. I new better, but saw a coupon online for up to $500, but was only offed $75 off which still had there service well over $1000. I found a reputable local business to do the job for $775.

I was refused service because my property I wanted serviced is not my primary residence. I was discriminated against for having a rental property. On January 25, 2018 at 2:30 p.m., I went to the Benjamin Franklin location at 5808 56th Street N, Tampa, FL 33610. I met with the receptionist and later Scott Wood. I explained that one of the condos that I own in Plant City, Florida had a leak in the bathtub faucet. I showed Scott Wood the photos of the faucet. He said he could schedule an appointment for the following day to have someone come out to service the condo. I provided him and the receptionist with my name, phone number and address. I explained that I would be at the condo and that I was the point of contact. They asked me for the tenants name and phone number as a secondary point of contact, I provided that information, but stressed that I was to be the main point of contact. On January 26, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. I received a call from my tenant. He explained that Kristen, the dispatcher from the Tampa Benjamin Franklin had called to confirm the appointment that morning at 8:00 a.m. I did not receive a phone call from Kristen. I called Kristen at 7:10 a.m. to confirm the appointment. She asked for my name and number. I provided that. She then said that I was not in the system. I explained that I was the property owner and that she had just called my tenant to confirm the appointment. She then became rude and said that Benjamin Franklin does not work with rental properties. I then explained that I went in person to the Tampa Benjamin Franklin office the day before and explained that it was a rental property at the time I made the appointment. I was not told at the time of making the appointment that the company would not service rental properties. I became upset during the call with Kristen because she said that they were doing me a favor by making the appointment to service my plumbing needs. I told her that I felt that was discrimination to refuse service to someone simply because the property was not their primary residence. She said and I quote..."Well, it isn't my company." We ended the call by confirming the 8:00 a.m. appointment. I told her I would be there in person at 8:00 a.m. to meet the plumber. A few minutes later at 7:17 a.m. I received a call from Scott Wood from the Tampa Benjamin Franklin office located at 5808 56th Street N., Tampa, FL 33610. He said he was calling because I seemed to have had a problem with Kristen, his dispatcher. I said, yes, I did have a problem and he should consider firing her due to her lack of customer service. Scott Wood immediately became defense and very rude to me. I explained the entire phone conversation I had with Kristen and why I became upset because she was telling me that the company did not have to service me because the property was a rental property. Scott Wood said to me that he was cancelling my appointment because I was rude to his dispatcher Kristen and that Benjamin Franklin as a company can pick and choose who they service. I told Scott Wood that I believed this was discrimination and that I was going to go to the Tampa office and ask to speak to a manager. He told me that he was the manager and that if I stepped foot on the property, he would have me arrested for trespassing. I then asked for the name of the owner of the company. He refused to provide it to me and told me that I can look it up online. I ended the conversation by stating that I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, contact the corporate office, and look into my legal rights as a property owner. He said good, I welcome your complaint and legal action. I am now filing this complaint for refusal of service. I too have a choice of who I do business with and I obviously will not be doing business with Benjamin Franklin.

I discovered a wet floor, outside of my son's bathroom, on Wednesday evening. We contacted Ben Franklin Plumbing, and they sent out a technician the next day. The gentleman that came was Scott Blackburn. He told me that I had a toilet leak and that he performed a hydrostatic test and found that I also had a slab leak and the cost to repair it was over $10,000.00. My husband was out of town, and desperate to get this problem fixed, I agreed to the repair. Scott had me sign a bunch of paper work and told me that the repair would start the next afternoon (Friday), but that they did not work on Saturday & Sunday, so they would finish on Monday and Tuesday. I was off on the day he came, but had to request Friday afternoon & Monday off, from work, so that I could be here when they came. I came home on Friday and got busy doing things, around my house. All of a sudden, I realized it was 4:00pm, and no one had come. I texted Scott and he called me and told me that they guys had run longer than expected on their other job, so that no one was able to come until Monday. Needless to say, I was very upset...STRIKE ONE. During the four days, I had to wait, my wood floors, stayed wet and my vanity was absorbing the water and started to peel. I also had to turn the water connection, to my house, on/off to take showers, etc. Finally Monday morning arrived. I had two very nice and professional gentlemen come: Carlos & Juan. I asked if they could possibly start with fixing the toilet in my son's bathroom, to eliminate further damage to my floor and vanity. I explained to them that that was the only area that had any water damage and that Scott had told me that the toilet had a leak. I told them I was a bit surprised that it wasn't fixed on Thursday when he was here, and they seemed surprised as well. They spoke in Spanish to each other and couldn't believe that it was left like that. I continued to get upset, but did not say anything to them. A few minutes later, Carlos told me that because of what I had told him about the bathroom leak, he checked the meter for a while, after turning off the flow to the toilet, and found that the meter did not move, which was confusing to him, because if there was a slab leak, it would have moved. Therefore, he had Scott come back out to perform the hydrostatic test again. GUESS WHAT? It was negative...NO LEAK...STRIKE TWO. However, Scott continued to try to get me to re-pipe the house, since they were already there. I expressed that I just wanted the toilet leak fixed and that I was very upset, because I trusted him and he left me with a leak and thinking I needed to spend over 10K. He told me that "everyone makes mistakes and that he wasn't perfect"...STRIKE THREE!!! It is such a shame, that I wasn't able to just use Carlos & Juan. They were very professional and HONEST gentlemen. They were sent away, before I had a chance to thank them. Scott ended up fixing the toilet...it took a whole 30 minutes...GUESS what, my floor is now dry, however it is damaged. If Scott would have done his job on Thursday, we could have avoided any additional damage to my floor and vanity. The toilet was repaired at no charge, but that does not make up for the frustration, and additional damage, that Scott's negligence caused. The rest of BFP may be great, but I will NEVER do business with them and I would definitely get a second opinion if you do use them and they tell you that you need a 10K pipe replacement.

Late Friday evening the 19th of July, I accidentally broke our irrigation PVC pipe in our backyard - this is the main unit for our sprinkler system and it sits up out of the yard and has two shut off valves/yellow levers attached to it. Of course I did not know this then but I do now. I looked on Angi's list and put in a request for help. Benjamin Franklin was the first to respond and they were very nice. They were able to send out the plumber the next morning between 8am-12pm. The plumber arrived the next morning around 10am and he was very nice. However, he never examined or even touched the pipe at all. I showed him where it was broke. However, he quoted me $1,100 to repair the PVC pipe. It was like $600 to dig and $500 to replace the piece of PVC pipe . I told him that you could feel the pipe just below the ground. He told me that if I wanted to dig the hole he would see if they could reduce the price but he was not allowed to dig. Of course, I dug the hole while he stood there to prove that it was one shovel below the dirt. He called his supervisor who then offered to fix it around $550 since I had already removed the dirt. I still said no. He knew that I did not have water to my house since my neighbors had to shut off the main valve and that my husband was out of town. On the PVC pipe that was broke, there were two shut off levers that I did not know what they were since I am not a plumber - I'm sure with his experience, he could have easily turned them off. I told him that I would try and fix it myself or call my handyman. He told me that it was harder than it looked and I would need a shop vac, etc. and then I would still be without water for some time. My husband was out of town and I was without water so I almost caved in from pure panic. My handyman came out within the hour with his plumber friend and they charged me $20 for the piece of PVC pipe and glue to fix it and showed me the turn off valve. No shop vac was needed and he took him about 30 minutes. The plumber who was fixing it for me said that the plumber who was there should have seen the levers and could have turned it off and at least restored water to my house since it was just the irrigation. He was shocked and angry at the quoted price from you. He even offered to give a testimonial. I was so disappointed in this plumbing company! Of course, I had to pay the $89 service call charge and it was a complete waste of time but lesson learned! Where is the honesty anymore with businesses!

Wish there were an option for no stars!!! Pretty upset with my self first and second with this very deceitful company. By the way I believe 1 hour air conditioning and ben Franklin are partners if I'm not mistaken. I'm upset with myself for not seeing the clear signs of a hustle when it was presented earlier. I own a home in Tampa that was built four years ago (second owners), meaning most of the things in it are nearly new. This company's stickers and magnets were left behind by the original owners. We assumed that this company was legit and had installed all the new features. We had no reason to research other companies, boy we should of. Since owning we have called them out a few times for seemly small things such as running toilets and leaky sinks. Prices for these repairs were average from my experience. The first tech that came to my home said they offered a veterans service program to maintain plumbing in the home. They said that all the services were discounted and we would benefit from having scheduled visits. We bit and signed up. A few months ago we had situation with our water heater. The situation was upon leaving to work and walking thru the garage I notice a good amount of water on the floor surrounding the tank, appropriately a gallon. I called this company they came out that day and quoted $800 for a brand new water heater. We paid, they installed and we were satisfied. Tuesday of this week Benny Franklin came to my home for their scheduled service. The technician (Cory) did a water test and said our 4 year old water softener was not working, it could not be repaired and quoted us 6k for a replacement unit. Funny because I hadn't noticed anything wrong with the water. Being that I don't have a money tree, we did what most people would and called someone else for a visit/quote. Had advanced water treatment specialists come out to take a look. The company came to my home today. First thing they said when they entered my garage was your system does not need replacement. He tested the water and said that it is softening and filtering water just fine. He cycled the system and explained to me in great detail how the system actually worked. Bottom line this company tried to swindle me (a veteran) out of money that I fed my family with. You can kiss my ass, and I'll be canceling your veterans package bullshit tomorrow.

Technician arrived without a drain snake and without the equipment to clear the clog. Made a quick assessment that was not believable even to a "woman"! Tech then proceeded to wait 45 minutes for another tech to show up with a drain snake. Once the other tech arrived I was promised for $378 they would snake the drain and video the drain and the clog so that I could see "what they see ". He did not guarantee that the clog could be cleared but told me he "felt like it would". The drain was snaked the video was taken and then I was presented with a bill for $18,000 to replumb one bathroom! I was told that the clog could NOT be cleared with the snake. When I asked to see the video I was told that there was a malfunction and the recording did not save. When I said I would not pay the almost $400 for the snaking and the video unless I could see the video for myself and receive what I agreed to. Each time I challenged his review/comments he conveniently went outside and even once closed the master bedroom door to speak privately with the other technician. Why so secretive unless you have something to hide? Lies!! He told me they re-snaked the drain to get a new video. But, I could only view the video from the techs tiny cell phone which showed virtually nothing. I asked to have the video emailed to me, that was an issue as well. The new technology would not allow them to send me the video. Degrading comments were made toward me about how long the call was taking, how they needed to go, that they weren't touching anything else because they "couldn't even get paid for what they did do". I was so disgusted by Franks leering and demeaning behavior that I agreed to pay if they would promise to email me the video once they figured it out. I never expect to see the video so I used my personal cell phone to video the video from the techs phone. It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. I would never recommend this company to anyone and have already lodged a complaint with the BBB. I called a reputable plumber the following day, RotoRooter Melbourne, who cleared the drain with a snake and was completely finished in under 30 minutes for less than half the cost! Women beware these men think we're stupid enough to believe their lies!

I have never been so insulted by a company representative in an attempt to exploit a consumer in my life. We recently had tile installed in our bathroom and when replacing the toilet, it wasn't quite level and rocked slightly. I attempted to do the repair myself and had already removed the toilet; cleaned the floor and removed all of the material, After multiple attempts, I simply could not get it back into place and contacted this company who some years earlier had replaced my hot water heater. The call to the 800 number was courteous and scheduled with no issues for later that same morning. The call center rep explained that it would be the cost of the job, not by the hour and would be an additional $49 service call, I affirmed that I understood the tier pricing structure and service call charge. When the plumber arrived, he explained what might need to be done and showed me the cost estimate of $329 dollars excluding service call, when I pointed out that this was not a "major" toilet rebuild, but merely a reset of an existing toilet, he then adjusted his price to the next tier down at $276 but now said it be that time 2 - HUH?? He attempted to explain that it would be $276 and to take the tank off the back (minor toilet rebuild) and to reset the toilet would be an additional $276. I clarified that what he was telling me was that to reset a toilet that was already removed and clean was going to cost over $500 - his response was simply, "Hey, don't shoot the messenger". Needless to say, I immediately asked him to leave and refused to pay for the service call. I contacted another plumber who was there within 24 hours and he "Chipped out and replaced the PVC closet flange; removed toilet tank; installed full tanks rebuild kit; installed new wax ring and bolts; cemented bowl to floor and reinstalled toilet tank with new supply tube" all within a time frame of 1 1/2 hours and the cost was a total of $254. Your company is a rip off and I will be following with a call to the Florida Consumer Protection Bureau.

I had 2 toilets in a 3 bathroom home that broke over a weekend. I called the on call weekend dispatch for Ben Franklin Plumbing & set up a Monday 8am - Noon time block for my service technician to arrive at my residence, since this was not an emergency situation. Monday morning at 7:30am I got a call from Daniel, the service pro from Ben Franklin Plumbing, asking if it was okay to come to my house now, & he would arrive in 15 minutes. I said that was awesome. He arrived, was friendly, asked what the problems I was having were, & had me accompany him to each bathroom as he assessed the problems with the toilets. He quickly determined what was wrong with each toilet, gave me the options of what repairs &/or replacement of the toilets would cost, & did not pressure to make any decision other than my own. What was really awesome, is that unlike many other plumbing companies, Ben Franklin Plumbing service technicians have large trucks, & Daniel had all the repair supplies available in his truck, & did not have to go back to the shop & get inventory out of the warehouse to complete the jobs. He arrived about 8am, & was done with "everything", including cleaning up excellently after himself by 10:30am. Now, I know there is probably more than 100 plumbing companies in the Tampa area, & I have used probably 5 or 6 over the years, but Ben Franklin Plumbing, & especially Daniel, were 1st class all the way, from initial phone call, to customer service, to the repair work done, to cleaning up after themselves, & to processing my payment in a timely manner. This was the first time I ever used Ben Franklin Plumbing, but I don't need to look any further for who I call for future pluming needs. PS: Their prices are also very reasonable, & they do not charge by the hour. Just top notch.

I will give my experience 1/2 a star only. Complete disaster and you will never have me as a customer again. So, my story.... I discover a significant leak in my wall which is causing my carpets to be soaked and the leak is constant. I call the office to get a technician out. While on the phone with dispatch I tell them it would be best if I could be scheduled after 4 PM, as I work in Tampa and am having the work done in New Port Richey. I'm told that will not be an issue at all and they will make a note so it can happen. The appointment is confirmed with exactly what I asked, "We will see you after 4PM on.....the technician will call you when he's on his way". Great!! The day of the appointment, I begin receiving phone calls while in a meeting at 1:30 PM. I check voicemail after the meeting to discover it is Ben Franklin dispatch telling me the technician is ready to come to the house and has tried to call but I'm not answering. I immediately call dispatch, tell them I wasn't supposed to be seen until after 4 PM, and am told I was on the schedule from 7AM to 7PM. What? I'm told the technician is now on another call in Palm Harbor, but as soon as they finish there they will head to my house. I'm told the technician will contact me when he is on his way, OR if there is an issue with him getting to me, I will be contacted by dispatch and told of the issue. I NEVER RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL FROM ANYONE. It is now a day after my scheduled appointment and NO ONE HAS EVEN REACHED OUT TO ME TO EXPLAIN OR RESCHEDULE. I am done with Benjamin Franklin plumbing. I hope your experience is better than the one I had, but be assured I will never recommend this company and will warn anyone thinking of using them

I called Ben Franklin Plumbing because I damaged a copper pipe on the outside of one of my clients home. I called at 11Am, and was given an "on time guarantee" of service between 12pm and 4pm, of the same day. Great I thought to myself. Well, to make a long story a little shorter, after me making 7 phone calls to the call center and being given 3 or 4 different stories, the tech finally arrived at 8pm. In addition to that, he made no mention or apoligies for being late, in fact on the receipt he had the nerve to write down he was on time. I did not realize that Ben Franklin Plumbing actually has an "on time guarantee" that pays the customer if they are late until I read the receipt, two days later. I called the service center and explained to them what happened. I was told by the operator that this was appalling and a manager would call me the next morning...... After two more days waiting I called back again and was told another barrage of reasons I didn't get the promised call. After telling the operator I was fed up and going to take my case online I was again promised a call by a manager the next day. Well, low and behold, a manager did call me the next day, but I missed it. I did call back within 5 minutes though, left a voice mail and have not heard a thing since. In my opinion, Ben Franklin Plumbing is NOT a punctual plumber, has terrible customer service and I would not recommend them to anyone for anything. 1-866-867-5309 is the number not to call, my tech was named D. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY FAST! My experience with BF is that they are only out to take advantage of the customer and there is no compassion what-so-ever for the homeowner or occupant. I about fell over when I was told that it would cost over $600 to snake my clogged drain. This was an after-hour emergency and that is how he justified the high cost. When they have you cornered and you have small children they know they can take full advantage because running water in a life-necessity. I checked with several other firms after the service was completed and the average cost of after-hour support is about 30% the cost of Ben Franklin. THIS COMPANY IS OUT TO RIP YOU OFF. Don't use them. RUN! There are many other options. Don't get trapped like we did. They don't care! Don't expect anything in writing from them either. I needed a breakdown of the billing to submit to Home Warranty company and after the sale they did not even give me the courtesy of following up with the itemized bill. It is a clear case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. The dispatch center is the bait and hook..... and it seems they have contracted con-artists who do the dirty work on sub-contract basis. The subs have set standard pricing based on category and not on the job details. For example - you could have a minor clog and their road-map for pricing is generic not taking into account labor-time or any other aspect relative to degree of difficulty. RUN from this RIP-OFF company as fast as you can.
