Matt and Stew were prompt, courteous, and professional. They were thorough in identifying the problem (not an easy task), and transparent about the costs involved and the amount of wallboard. That would have to be removed to allow for their work to be done
I had a main valve break, which left me with no water. From the phone call with Heidi to completion was a great experience. Britt and Stew came out and hooked me up immediately. They were very professional and did an amazing job. Would definitely refer them in the future.
Atlanta Star Plumbing is the absolute best they were thorough. Took the time to explain everything to me and I cannot thank them enough for finally solving an issue that has been a long time problem. Customer service 10 star all the way thank you very much.
Horrible experience! Crooks! I called them to change shower cartridge. They quoted $79 visit charge, and then estimate on arrival and inspection. I asked them the estimated price for a cartridge replacement, as I knew what it was. They would not give me a price over the phone. I mean this has to be a standard charge! Techician arrived, inspected, determined it was the cartridge...and quoted me $550 + $79 trip fee for the job!!!!!! Replaced the $15 part myself in 15 minutes. I mean there has to be a reasonable hourly fee or some standard!! Still had to pay the $79 trip charge. Worthless!! DO NOT USE THEM!!
I have used Britt for many years and was very disappointed this last time I called them for a very simple flush valve replacement for my Kohler toilet. I purchased the part on Amazon for less than $20 because I wanted the part replaced with a Kohler part. After the person they sent was over an hour late for the appointment I called and was told that they knew he was not going to be here on time (a phone call letting me know would have been nice). Once he shows up he tells me within 15 minutes that he has no silicone on his truck (isn't silicone something that plumbers use a lot?) and he has to go to the hardware store to get some. He's gone for almost an hour and tells me when he gets back that he went to the Ace on Roswell Road and it was closed (uh, yeah, has been for about 2 years now) but there is both a Home Depot and a Lowe's within 15 minutes of my house). Once he installs this basic part I'm handed a bill for $423 which, stupid me, I paid. I decided that I would call Britt and let him know that I thought this was overpriced to see if he would work with me on it. He returned my call after I called twice and asked me to send him a pic of the part (excuse me, but don't you know what a flush valve is?) which I think he did just to stall me. Net: he has ignored me even though I've made several attempts to talk to him again. Just sad that they have no issue ruining a relationship with a client who uses them exclusively. What do they think I will tell people that I have recommended them to? I read reviews and so do a lot of folks out there.
Ok -Went in for an Interview with these Folks the other day.First of all it was Spring Street or as listed on here as New McEver Rd?I Interviewed at The unmentioned one on Spring street in Marietta. They were listed as under CertiTemp INC.This was Very Misleading and it was never mentioned in the interview process. What was mentioned was the driving motive of the business which was the "UP SALE"! and commissions were set as part of the technicians wages, thus an incentive to push them ,as an Enzyme trivial additive! I asked a question regarding the installation of the immediate/tankless hot water heaters,Whether an associated Electrical company or NEC qualified affiliate inspected or oversaw the installation?I was met with "No you do all that",as a Plumbing technician.........This is not standard practice and is both risky and dangerous for the property owner if electrical connections/taps or dedicated circuits are introduced by NON QUALIFIED PERSONNEL PERIOD! A Plumber is NOT an Electrician! your insurance carrier will agree!BEWARE of these guys! And btw their BBB rating was thrown around as a trophy which actually is not a true nor real exhibition of the business practices of the company that paid for the rating.I wouldn't trust these folks to change out a garden hose!
I really didn't want to do this, but my email to them was ignored for several months. I am a single woman new homeowner and was charged $602 for a toilet pull and charged $585 to locate the pipes. That's $1183 total, before any work was actually done to resolve the clog (because it would involve going under slab). I found out after getting estimates from 5 other local plumbers that they do not charge for line location; that it's seen as standard and part of the job--you don't cut through slab without making sure where the lines are. I'm not sure if the plumber was aware of this but I wrote an email to explain what I found and asked for a credit. I am following up on the email and will leave this here because currently this reflects my sadness and disappointment at what happened. To be fair--Britt responded quickly to the call, and was very good about following up--and he did a reasonable quote for the slab work/replacement portion. However I just couldn't figure out why he would charge me so much for locating the line if that's something other plumbers are not charging extra for, especially such a high amount. As a new homeowner I didn't know and I was overcome with panic so I just paid it. I will update this review if they refund me.
Recently I need to find a new plumber to help out my mother-in-law. I reviewed a list of plumbers with their rating and I called Atlanta Star Plumbing on Saturday, yes Saturday. A gentleman by the name of Britt Pereira answered!!!! He is the owner and what a pleasure to talk with him. I informed him that my mother-in-law lived in a condo and her dishwasher was broken. Stop for a moment and I need to step back. I have purchased a new dishwasher from Home Depot and it was delivered about 150 minutes late and the delivery/installers could not attach the new DW due to the age of our condo. So I had another plumbing company come out to add the connector and the guy wanted hundreds of dollars so we let him go. Home Depot charged us about $100 for installation and removal of the old washer that I got credited after the awesome Mr. Britt Pereira completed his professional work which included adding the new connection and he EVEN installed the new dishwasher and removed the old washer as part of his job. We saved a lot of money and the service was EXCEPTIONALLY and he is a true gentleman! We were so blessed to connect with him and he is our only plumber for my mother-in-law and my family. Thank you Mr. Pereira!!!!
Dispatching is an obstacle that cannot be endured. Their communication skills were so challenging that I asked for the owner to call me with an explanation and/or an apology. It has been three business days of silence. Use at your own peril. Day one -- I waited for Atlanta Star to call back and schedule my appointment Day two -- the first agent called and scheduled my appointment at noon. -- the second agent called 30 minutes later to schedule same service call unaware of the first call. They had given my noon appointment away. She would "fix" that. -- at 12: 30 PM (30 minutes after the noon appt time), no plumber had arrived. I called for an update. They would research it and call me back. -- at 12:44 PM (44 minutes after the noon appt times), someone finally hit the "dispatch" button because a dispatch text appeared on my mobile phone. No one never called me back. -- I waited another 30 minutes before the plumber arrived. What a colossal waste of my time and patience over the course of two business days. Only bright spot was the plumber who did fix the problem and acted professionally.
Discovered leak in my water heater closet. Seen Atlanta Star in my area before and decided to try. Tech, Britt, was out in 20 min. Confirmed neighbor A/C was leaking into to my unit. Because he was there, I had an already issue to switch out my shut off valves to kitchen sink as they were corroding. Previous plumber was a bit inept so was looking fot another company anyway. Britt walked through everything with me, he explained and showed me everything he did. He was friendly, took his time and didn't rush the job. I knocked off a star because most vendors waive the service charge if they do the work; and was much higher than others at $79 vs $65. Also, the other two quotes I received for two valves were a bit lower; however, Britt did give me a $50 off coupon which I can appreciate. He was gracious and cordial when leaving. Overall, satisfied with what was accomplished. Would use them again.
Britt came today to look at, and then replace, the garbage disposal in our condo. He was able to identify the issue quickly, and returned within a reasonable time to replace it after getting a replacement. During the time he was replacing the disposal, he was pleasant to talk to, without any of the awkwardness I've come to associate with having things fixed in my home. In addition to that, he was very clean both generally and while making the repairs. I've come to expect having to vacuum and mop after having a repair or delivery, but there was no dirt tracked in or mess made! I can't comment on price, as my landlord is paying for the repair, but in terms of service alone, I will definitely be contacting Atlanta Star Plumbing for any future needs.
Spoke with a dispatcher twice to schedule an estimate for a minor but time sensitive job. Dispatcher never mentioned that there was a service fee for estimates in those conversations. Agent was 7 mins from my property, assessed the work in less than 5 and quoted 1k to replace a hose bib. Charged a $150 service fee for the visit. I requested customer service to waive the service fee only to be told that the company does in fact charge a service fee and that it’s policy for a dispatcher to make customers aware. The company didn’t follow their own policy, and expected their customer to be held responsible for it anyway.
Very disappointing experience with Atlanta Star Plumbing. In short, a new garbage disposal and EXACTLY 75 minutes of plumbing work ended up costing me $902. Their price model is "fixed price" by the job, they refer to a book and the book spits out a price based on worst possible scenarios. $558 for a new 1/2 HP Badger disposal and $325 to "reconfigure" the plumbing (which was really just shortening two or three pipes) and a $69 Service Charge. There weren't even any additional parts required, just shortened a few pipes. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a plumber, this was a $500 job tops.
For starters, Maria handled my phone call to Atlanta Star Plumbing and was just incredible. She took down and processed my information quickly and was able to dispatch a crew same-day to stop a flooding issue in my home. Not only that but she was kind, caring, and helped brighten a frustrating day dealing with a plumbing issue! Once Matt arrived at my home he quickly assessed the issue and issued a quality fix on my phone that got my kitchen back to functional status. I would highly, highly recommend this company's services for any plumbing issues you might have in the Atlanta area!
Atlanta Star Plumbing works with Mike Hampton Restoration company to commit fraud. The plumbing company told me it was a plumbing issue and to contact their friend Mike to do restoration on my home. Mind you my carpet was wet in a small area. Hampton Restoration comes out and attempts to file a fraudulent claim with my homeowners insurance for $20,000. Turns out I didn't have a plumbing problem. My carpet was wet because I had a hole in my roof. Atlanta plumbing lied because they were in on the fraud attempt. The fraud didn't work. I got my roof fixed and the carpet is now dry.
