We had excellent, friendly service from Ishmael and he was spot on finding a leak. Turned out to be an easy fix for us. 😃

Called upon ALD for a second opinion on a suspicious leak and it was the best decision ever. Colby is an absolute rock star, finding and fixing our problem NOT diagnosed correctly the first time. He is the epitome of customer service and standard by which all others should be measured. ALD is a true asset to Tulsa/BA.

I had a leak that was super bad and when I came back because I would have been gone, I had called them up and secured an appointment for the very next day and they were able to come and they come early really early and we’re able to complete the work and it was really bad cause it was like 4 feet down in the ground, but Toby was able to call Shawn and the both of them did it in a couple hours it was amazing

BEWARE! We were given a recommendation for this company from a structural engineer who suggested we get a hydrostatic pressure test to make sure some of our drywall cracks were not being caused by a sewer leak beneath the slab of our home. We just bought our house about a month ago and we wanted to make sure everything was okay. American Leak Detection quoted us $295.00 for the first hour of a hydrostatic pressure test and potable water test, and $180.00 per hour for any additional hours should there be complications. The lady on the phone assured me that it typically didn't take longer than an hour, but that it depends on the job. Little did we know that ALD would end up trying to charge us almost $1000 AND they didn't even do the test! On Friday 11/19/2021, the first technician from ALD arrived to do the pressure test. He completed the first part of the test, which tests our incoming water supply in no time. No issues there. But, he wasn't able to find the sewer clean out to complete the pressure test. We didn't know where it was either since we just moved in. He said he would ask ALD to send another tech out who was a "specialist" and would definitely be able to find it. They charged us $295.00 for the full hour of that test which was not completed due to his incompetence. A little while later, the next tech showed up. I thought he was very nice and seemed to be helpful, and it seemed things would go to plan, though he was a bit chatty and spent quite a bit of his time in my home talking to me about all kinds of things when he could have been more respectful of using his time wisely, being that its an hourly rate. Anyway, he discovered that our cleanout is shared with our next door neighbor's home, so ALD would not be able to test our system with complete accuracy. He got a camera out to check the cleanout and determine this. I was not told that this camera service would be an extra charge nor given the option to decline this service. He then took the camera to our bathroom to inspect the line. He had to uninstall one of our toilets, which he said would be no big deal. Upon uninstalling it, the flange broke (it was quite rusted out--we had no idea, again just moved in) and he said he could fix it no problem. He made it sound as if this was a courtesy service being that he broke it. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough concrete screws, and he said he had to go buy some at Ace Hardware. So he left, came back, reinstalled the toilet, and went on his merry way. He said someone would contact me with an estimate for installing a separate sewer cleanout and fixing a flat spot in our pipe. No one contacted us about the cleanout or repair, but I received 2 invoices today. $295.00 for the first tech, who wasn't able to even locate the cleanout, and $617.75 for the second tech, including a $60 fee for using the camera and $62.75 for parts (a wax ring and a few concrete screws). $495.00 for 2 hours and 45 minutes, most of which were spent walking in circles around my property looking for an alternate cleanout, time spent at Ace Hardware buying concrete screws and fixing my toilet which wouldn't have broken if we would have simply been asked if we wanted a camera test and given the option since it was going to be an additional cost. We would have said no not now, being that its almost Christmas and that wasn't the service we requested. Upon calling ALD this morning to discuss the issues I had with the amount we were being charged for a service NOT PERFORMED, I was informed that they "just put that on the invoice" since it was the reason for our calling them, regardless if the service was actually performed. What?? They were only able to refund $280.00. One hour of labor plus the camera test. Unbelievable. Never again. I hope this message helps someone avoid being in the mess we got ourselves into by choosing this company. Almost $700 down the drain literally.

I paid my huge bill and they do charge over $400 if no one is home. I was upset with my huge bill and they are now refusing service.

They seemed great and I was tricked. The technician kept saying he’d take good care of me but that was a lie. Our leaks were so bad that the ac ducts needed to be repaired. I informed them of when the HVAC company was coming so we could get the holes filled asap. They came out to fill the holes and reattach the water heater and that is when I was told there was another messed up duct the technician never told me out. So I had to have dangerous holes with small children and no hot water for another day plus I had to call an HVAC person again. I told them I was very upset about this and was told they call in the morning with how they could make this right. They never called. I got the duct fixed and told them to come out and fill the holes and attach the hot water tank. They tried to not fill the holes that day, thankfully they did but the technician made it clear he was annoyed he had to stay late to get everything done. My husband gave them a check but they were supposed to prorate a day that the technician left early so I stopped the check and told the technician I needed a new invoice and they would need a new check. I waited a few days for them to get me a new invoice to pay then I was threatened with legal action for nonpayment. When communicating my unhappiness with the company the worker interrupted me to say but we’ve fixed your invoice so we are good. I am truly appalled at the company’s lack of decent customer service. I also believe I was lead astray, after multiple new leaks discovered in the ABS pipe I asked the technician multiple times if we should just replace all the pipes and was told that was not advised but after speaking with multiple people I believe we are living in a ticking time bomb just waiting for the next leak. I do question if everything was installed properly with the hot water tank, before they took it off I never had water pressure issues, since they put it back on it’s never been the same. Another smaller but also annoying thing is that they used and clogged my toilet multiple times, one time being while I was trying to get ready for work, taking up my only bathroom for 15 minutes, making me late for work. Lastly, on the final day they were here working on filling the holes, we came in after they left and went to use the toilet and it was set up to spray water all over the place when flushed. Would never use them again or recommend them to anyone!!

American Leak Detection customer service is really poor. I am a property manager, so I deal with service providers routinely. With ALD I was treated rudely from start to finish; apparently it is unacceptable to ask a question about about a bill. They quoted one rate billed another. When I asked for an itemized invoice I was told, "we don't bill, we get paid". After paying them, I had to go to their office to get a copy of the report and the invoice. The manager came into the lobby and told me, "oh no, we are not talking to you." When, after being required to demonstrate that, via a receipt, I had paid them, they finally produced an invoice and a report. The invoice had a billing rate 20% higher than quoted. When I brought it to their attention, they said they charged more because they decided to send two techs instead of one...in their world they make those decisions for you, don't inform you, expect you to accept it and like it as well. Only, after another discussion did they agreed to bill me the quoted rate. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION and don't expect to treated with any respect.

I did email the company before posting this and they did not respond. The 2 guys were prompt and courteous, but I was not confident they had found the problem when they left. I told them so, but they assured me they had. Anyone can direct a high pressure spray at the corner of a door long enough, make it leak and charge $525. The actual source of the leak was behind an electrical junction box for the air conditioner, not the corner of the door. It was technically within a 5 foot radius of the door, but in practical terms of actually finding what to fix, useless. I knew another leak was a little below ground at the slab level. I thought they would have dug a little to pinpoint the actual cause of the leak instead of just spraying the surface and saying, "well it's somewhere down there." I already knew that. I see now why they get your signature and credit card number before they come out. They get paid no matter what. I'm very disappointed and I feel like a fool for wasting $525. I do not recommend this company. Just use your own hose and find the leak yourself.

American leak detection is a scam if you have any gas leaks DO NOT call them. They cant fix a gas leak. They can detect where it is coming from which is exactly what a plumber is paid to do. I paid $475 for them to tell me that they found the leak. I said ok great fix it, they said we don't do that. The plumbing connected tot heir name is apparently not for gas. This is absurd that they would not have told me upfront that I was going to be paying for something that is included with The plumber who is the one who is actually going to have to fix it in the end. Thank you so much for the headache and waste of time. I have not had a shower in a week now because plumbing is booked out and you couldn't simply tell your customer in the first place that you do not fix anything. You just detect a leak.for an outrageous price might I add. $255 an hour. A plumber is only $122 and that's with actually fixing the problem. Steer clear of this scamming company

I would highly recommend American Leak Detection for hard to find leaks. From my first contact with Matt on the phone to schedule and get estimates to Colby calling on his way and letting me know when he would be there and being extremely and friendly while at my home, put my mind at ease. They came highly recommended from a plumber friend of mine who had used them before and another friend of mine who owns a car wash who had used them before. I will admit I was not looking forward to the expense, but in the scheme of things, paying them to find the leak so it could be fixed was MUCH cheaper than digging up and/or running a new main water line. My water meter is 150+ft from my house. They were able to locate the leak within and hour even though I couldn't tell them for sure which way the line ran from the meter. Thank you ALD for your service.

I could barely hear water flowing in our hall bathroom and fearing a slab leak I called American Leak detection for help diagnosing our problem. Gabriel came to the house and found the leak and suggested rerouting the hot water line above ground from the sink to the tub through the bedroom wall (on the other side of the bathroom wall) for several feet all within the first hour of detection. Gabriel and his coworker Seth came back a few days later on appointment and efficiently resolved my leak issue within a half day. Great guys, welcome back to my house anytime! We're very happy with American Leak Detection and their great service and solution to our problem! The sheetrock repair was well done by contractor Kurt a few days later. Nice job and we're relieved that our solution wasn't a whole house reroute which would have been our worst fear

Drew and Celsa did the work at my house. They took every precaution, above and beyond, to do as little damage to our tile as possible. This included digging in inconspicuous places and creating a tunnel that went the length of one room, under a hallway to another closet. We had extensive leaks throughout the entire house. They took the time needed to analyze the situation, but they did not drag their feet, since we are charged by the day. It was a rough job for them, I know, with 9 places needing to be dug up and repaired. They were a pleasure to work with while our house was torn up and we lived out of various rooms. I can't recommend these two stronger for any complicated job out there. Ours was complex and required some out-of-the-box thinking to get the job done.

We experienced a hot water line leak under our foundation slab and called American Leak Detection. They sent Ishmael out to inspect and recommend a probably leak location. He was very professional and experienced in what can be a difficult task. Ishmael found the leak area and indicated it with tape. The plumbers then came out and discovered that the leak was in the area that Ishmael had indicated. I was impressed, because the sound we heard was at the opposite end of the line where it was actually leaking. It was amazing. We can't thank Ishmael enough. He did an outstanding job and knew what he was doing. We highly recommend Ishmael and American Leak Detection for their professional service and reasonable price.

Staff and technicians with American Leak Detection of Eastern Oklahoma were great. The office staff member, Jamie, answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. Colby and Shawn helped advise me on an easy troubleshoot prior to their arrival to test my pool. I received an estimate from another Tulsa pool company that stated I had many things that needed to be done totaling $10,500. I thought this was a dishonest and incorrect assessment and felt pressured to start the work. Colby and Shawn gave me honest answers. My pool had passed and did not need $10,500 worth of work. I recommend American Leak Detection to anyone! Trustworthy, honest, quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional...across the board.

The technician came out and it was quite apparent he was under qualified. He spent the first 2 hours on the line I had previously identified as the leaky line. First he didn't bother to fill the line with water to hear the leak. I told him there was a hose in the pool area so he could fill the line and better hear the leak. He walked around at times in the middle of the yard, no where near the underground pool lines, which I told him where they we located. Finally he called a more experienced technician who put water in the line, listened to what I told him and found the leak within the hour. The technician explained their equipment wasn't working properly. After, I get a bill for $900. I will never use them again.
