I met Zay when he came out to check my AC, and he was very polite and professional. He took the time to explain what was going on with the system and informed me about a few things I didn’t know. He even gave me a cool light which was a nice touch. Overall great service — I’ll definitely be reaching out to Super ABC again soon.
I have to let Super ABC Plumbing, Air & Heat know what an asset their technician, Chris McNab-601, is to their company! My AC system was not blowing cold air, Chris showed up late afternoon on a Saturday and after a thorough inspection, he found a leak in the system, obviously I had lost the refrigerant. He let me know that he could repair the leak however he did not have enough refrigerant with him in order to refill the system, that he would have to go to Tampa and come back. I live up in New Port Richey, which meant it would take him at least 1 to 1.5 hours to go get the refrigerant and return. By then it was 7:15 PM, so I thought that I would call ABC and see if it would be possible to schedule someone to come the next morning just to refill the system so that Chris would not have to go all the way to Tampa and come back. I won't go into details as to what happened with my phone call, but Chris assured me that he did not mind, that it was part of his job as he did not want me to be without air conditioning for the night. He proceeded to repair the leak and then, needless to say, he did go back to Tampa and returned at around 9:00-vacuumed out the lines, and recharged the system. He stayed around for about 15 minutes to make sure that everything was working properly, the temperature in my house dropped several degrees in less than an hour. During his service call, he was nothing but professional, courteous, thorough and on top of all of that, just very nice and friendly. He truly went out of his way to make sure that my system was working properly and that I was comfortable before he considered the job "completed". I don't know if it's possible but if I can, I will ask to have Chris sent as my technician when I need service again. Thank you Chris!
Denis S & Eliab did a great job with my air conditioner. We had a problem today and they came out quickly and stayed late into the afternoon to fix the issue. These guys are great! They're professional and they really knew what they were doing right away. They had a great attitude and it was nice knowing the job was done right. ABC is lucky to have these Technicians working for them. Thank You!!
We hired ABC for a shower cartridge replacement and tub clog. We paid 1,317. The service was incomplete and our problem remains unresolved. When we requested a refund, they offered far less than what we paid and tried to coerce us into changing our review to get it. This company operates unethically and cannot be trusted. We strongly caution anyone considering their services.
Horrible customer service. I called for service and the representative hung up in my face. Not once, but twice.
ABC... A Bunch of Crap! It started in July 2021, the compressor on our AC unit died. As a result, we called around for estimates and ABC seemed to be the best deal with 0% interest for financing and one day service*. This was extremely important because again it was July, and we live in Florida! Pay attention to the asterisk. I repeat the asterisk is important... we have and continue to go through the motions with this company. July 2021: took a week to install *Friday, 07/09/2021: the pitch...we selected a unit and install was set for the next day. We thought the salesman was being nice when he offered us a portable a/c unit to get through the night, but of course it was broken/ missing pertinent pieces to function properly. *Saturday, 07/10/2021: per install crew incorrect air handler was selected (single unit.) which would not fit in our attic, so a two-piece handler was needed. Being it was Saturday; we were told supply/ distribution center was closed. *Monday, 07/12/2021: install begins, one of the installers was electrocuted by a wire in attic...operation ceased. Call their supervisor and was instructed to wait for an electrician within their company to come out to see what was going on. He was fine by the way just shocked. *Tuesday, 07/13/2021: electrician came out cleared for the guys to start again. Missing heat kit for the unit, backordered. Refrigerant low and did not have any in truck. *Thursday, 07/15/2021: Installed heat kit and refilled refrigerant. They left their portable unit, ugh! Finished? Not quite...More asterisks November 2021: Warranty calls *Now it's Fall, and we began to experience issues with or unit. We have had to place several calls out the ABC for the same issue. After using the heater, the compressor will not come on once you try to switch the unit to cool. Calls made on: 11/11/2021, 11/20/2021, 1/7/2022 all outcomes provided different answers to problem. Labeled warranty calls. Mind you the warranty on their work is only good for the first year. December 2021: Inspection *The salesman in July stated to us that their work would need to be inspected and had us fill out a permit permission form to do so. He informed us that ABC would get in contact with us to schedule an appointment for this to be completed. On December 15, 2021, we received an email stating, "Please be advise that the permit...Air conditioning is set to expire. Expired permits can incur fines." WHAT?! No one from ABC had every reached out prior to the December 15. *12/20/2021: Inspection FAILED!!! Unit too low in pan, Copper wiring needing caps/plugs, a wire being smaller than what is required. January 2022: Inspection issues *1/7/2022: While calling in yet again for the Warranty issue previously mentioned In November. I also, inquired about the inspection results... made an appointment to fix these issues. *1/11/2022: appointment was set for morning. Now I will say they did call stating they were behind, but someone would get out to fix the inspection failures. The service technician arrived at 6:49pm and was still unable to complete all the inspection issues. On top of that, more issues were noticed. *24/7 Service is a joke. If you are not willing to pay for the service call (which they all noted once they did come, fell under our warranty) they will not come out right away. They pass your information over to the morning crew who then calls over each other to schedule a technician to come out. To be continued...
Whatever you're thinking...whatever you've been told...whatever the tv ads say...do not do business with this company. My personal experience with them has been one of the worst in my life. It all began in mid-January 2025 when the unit in our condo went out. Because it was an old unit, I decided to purchase a new one. Several days later, I'm guessing 7-10 days, a guy came out to install the new unit. It's now late January! After a tech spent two days installing the unit and it ran for a day or two, I noticed a large stain in the ceiling tile. I immediately contacted the number on my contract...the number is to a call center in Illinois...Arlington Heights, near Chicago, to be exact! Here, I was told that the situation would be relayed to a tech for a follow-up. 24-48 hours later, I got response...someone will be out in a few days! Over the next several weeks, no less than 4 guys at different times came out to attempt to diagnose the issue. It's now (probably) mid/late February. For the next few weeks (it may have been 7-10 days), there was an attempt to find the problem, including checking the drain line, etc. Finally, an answer to the problem: the unit was not installed correctly (wrong pitch). Another tech came out (within a week or so, I 'll have to check my emails) and decided to drill a new drain hole in the drain pan because water was filling up in the pan, overflowing, and leaking onto the ceiling tile. It's now early/mid March. After researching where the (local) office is located...11701 S. Belcher Rd, Suite 121, Largo, FL, 33773)...I went and spoke to the manager. After several minutes of him listening to my story and him acting as if he knew nothing about this, it was decided a whole new unit had to be ordered. The unit was damaged beyond repair. A new unit was ordered and that took another 10-14 days since it was coming from Dallas, Texas. I'm guessing it's now mid-March...possibly later. When the new unit arrived, it took less than 4 hours to install. But wait, there's a new stain in the ceiling tile after the unit had run but a day or two. Diagnosis: the pitch is off. A few days later, a tech comes out and fixes the problem. What's left is simple: have it inspected to pass code. After getting on the inspector's schedule...March is past and it's now April...the inspector has issues with things. I'm told the results will be posted on the county's portal, and it will be up to ABC to contact the inspector's office to set up a time when both a rep. from ABC and an inspector can come to our place. As of today, three months later, late April, I'm still waiting for the company to arrange for the county to come and conduct a final (joint) inspection. You read correctly. It's not been three days or even three weeks since this all began. It's been three months! And during that time, contacting the phone number on the contract did little good! It looks as though it's going to take a second visit to the local ABC office to get things moving. Wish me luck. I'm hoping to have things settled...hopefully by the 4th of July!
A salesman named Oney from ABC Plumbing came to my mom's home on 11/7/20, and arrangements were made to install a 15 Trend Steibel tankless water heater. Although my mom is in her early 80's, she can handle herself just fine. I was there to provide some input, and help ensure all went smoothly and fairly. The guy checked the amp box and plumbing, and said all was good for the install. Mom also signed up for the company's maintenance plan. Total price: $2680. She wrote him a check for half the balance ($1340), as he requested. He said he'd order the water heater, and be in touch within two weeks. He never called. So my mom called ABC in early December to find out what was going on and complain about no follow up. During this call, they contacted the original sales guy (Oney), and she was told he would contact her in a few days. Again, no call back. Around 3rd week in December, Mom calls ABC again, and they set her up with an appointment the following day for the installation. Next day, a technician and associate show up at my mom's, only to inform her they can't install the water heater until she contacts an electrician first, to install an additional 30 amps they say is required in order for the tankless heater to work properly. This just added to the aggravation, because the salesman was initially consulted specifically about this issue before she commited to this. He had said that the existing amps in her home were fine for the smaller water heater being installed. My mom then proceeded to try to arrange for an electrician to come to her home at the same time the water heater tech was there, as apparently the two have to be done basically at the same time. She could not make this arrangement. In all this time, my mom was never once contacted by anyone at ABC to keep her updated or apologize for all this delay and clear lack of customer service. Not once. She had to do all the legwork herself. So Mom finally had enough and decided a few days after Christmas she no longer wanted to do business with ABC Plumbing, and wanted her deposit check back. She was told billing had been contacted, and she would receive the check back in the mail. The woman she spoke to also actually told my mom she owed them (ABC) $118 for "the salesman's time, " and wanted her CC# to cover it. Mom told them to return the check for $1340 first. A couple of weeks pass. No check. She called ABC again on 1/6/21, and was told the check was mailed out right after the last phone call around Christmas, and was probably delayed beause of the holidays (not likely...the check was being mailed from St. Pete to Clearwater, and it had already been over two weeks). Another two weeks pass with no check returned, so Mom writes a detailed letter to Consumer Protection. On 1/25, the same day she receives a letter back from CP saying they had contacted ABC Plumbing to inform them of my mom's complaint along with forwarding the letter she wrote, she received the check back form ABC. "Consider it done?" I don't think so.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Had my AC and heating pump system installed back in December. Ever since it was installed I've had issues. I waited until now to right this review because I was hoping this company would rectify the issues I've had. First the heating pump kept activating the emergency shut off inside of the unit. I kept calling and having people come out - which btw they don't give you a time frame so you legit have to wait ALLLLL day. Whenever someone different would come out (I've had to have someone come out 5-6 times for this issue) I was told something different each time. I was also stood up a few times after waiting an entire day with no one even bothering to let me know that no one was coming even though an appointment was scheduled. It's summer now so I can't tell you if the heat is working even though they "figured out the issue" Now it's summer and the AC unit can't even keep my house cool. During the day it won't go below 77 degrees!!! This AC unit is a dud and was so overpriced. For the money I could have gotten two units and then maybe my house would be cool during these summer days. Then let's talk about the permit inspection that was required... why a permit was needed is beyond me but either way I schedule my inspection and low and behold NO ONE SHOWED UP!!! I reached out several times only to find out they scheduled it after the permit was CLOSED!!! To top it off I waited all day - another missed day at work - and no response or heads up no one was coming. I only found out the next day after sending several texts. I was also told by some named Temple I would be sent some gift cards for this entire inconvenience. Haha go figure 6 months later no gift cards were received. This company is a joke. I should have read the reviews closer!! I noticed in the reviews others had the same issues!!! I literally have no idea what to do anymore. This was supposed to be a fun new exciting upgrade to my home!!! My first big upgrade and I'm now regretting the whole thing. You'd think if you are selling AC units for $10k you'd make sure they work and are top of the line. I wish I could have them take this junk back and I could just get my old AC unit again because even though it was about 15 years old it worked better than this NEW unit. I included a screenshot of other reviews I've left for other company's to show I never leave bad reviews. This is my first. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review.
When presented with a coupon for $2500 off a new hvac system the salesman immediately said the coupon expired in February when in fact it is good through March. Eventually he honored the coupon but not without telling us that if he knew there was an active coupon he would have used the "other" price list and charged $2000 more, making the coupon worth $500. After the install it was like pulling teeth to join their "priority club," to the point where I complained to a manager and was offered a $100 gift card THAT NEVER CAME. They failed to show up (or call) for a scheduled maintenance appointment. I was told that they were "trying" to find a technician to come out. SO, they make appointments with you and don't bother assigning them to their workers. I demanded a manager and was hung up on. I called back and as if by magic, managers were "in a meeting" and was told one would call me back: NONE DID. When I finally got a manager, the next day, he told me that "emergency" calls kept them from honoring their appointment. He told me that my "routine maintenance" was not a priority, despite priority scheduling being a "club" benefit. So pre-paying for maintenance, waiting around all day, getting no service is how they "consider it done." I told that manager that he was to cancel my club membership and refund the money charged (one month's payment, as I had just joined). He stated that he could cancel the membership but did not believe refunds were given. I had to tell him that failing to keep an appointment amounted to violating their contract and if they didn't refund my money I would report them for credit card fraud and file a complaint with the state attorney general. I got an email saying the membership was cancelled and "no future" charges would be made. Again I had to tell them that unless they immediately refunded my money I would file fraud complaints. With no further response, they did credit my card: the ONLY thing they did right. These people claim to be "family" owned, but in reality they are a national conglomerate with offices in all states. One family might control everything but they are not a "family owned and operated" business. They are just another BS ripoff hvac/plumbing company. You should still look for their $2500 off coupons and make them honor them if you need a new system. After that you can use ANY company if you need warranty work done.
My mother was given an estimate IF the main water had to be shut off by the city, which it did not! He charged her as if it was much more complicated than the actually work he did - to simply replace a valve. The nationwide average for this type of part + labor is $200-300 max! I've asked numerous times for a manager to call me and the invoice to be itemized to justify the inflated price gauging; both of my requests have been ignored so far. I was told 'we don't do that'. Well, this IS considered predatory business practice, and ELDERLY EXPLOITATION. So, since this company refuses to deal with me, now they can deal with the FTC, who frowns upon taking advantage of the elderly like this! Not to mention, how Tyler the tech became so belligerent in our home when I questioned him and we had to ask him to leave promptly, to protect our safety! He should be fired asap, to ensure no elderly person EVER feels threatened like this again! He was very nice while pulling a 'quick one' on my mother, his energy totally changed when I caught him in the act, of inflating the price and he certainly didn't like me even questioning him! Told me 'I'm dealing with your mom' ....No buddy, now you're dealing with ME! Because you manipulated my mother!! But you won't manipulate me. Justify your price and itemize the work done; it's a simple request, that an HONEST company wouldn't become so defensive if asked to do so! Only liars and manipulators are defensive. Apparently, the manager is just too busy to call and rectify the situation, so I'm taking it to the Internet and higher authorities to deal with this scamming company! It's disgusting really! How many other elderly people did this scam work on before us!? It's very disturbing! After reading too many other reviews to count, it seems this company does this to all their customers; inflated prices, bogus estimates that are given at the end of the service after work is done, but without completing the work stated in the estimate! This company needs to be shut down; they prey on unsuspecting people!! I have not encountered one honest person within this company! The tech lies and the staff justify it! They know EXACTLY what they are doing!
Consider It Done. More like "Consider It a Scam" For those that do not know, this is a national company with franchises all over the country. From what I can tell, their "fixed pricing" is nothing more than a scam that probably many seniors and those people that are afraid to challenge companies like this have been ripped off by. Here is the synopsis... Had a shower that needed a new valve. Wouldn't turn on anymore, so since we needed that replaced, I had gone out and purchased a new setup which included tub faucet and shower head. I paid $59 for the tech to de a diagnostic. He concluded from the "book" that all the techs have that this would be the charge Rebuild and furnish cartage - $411 From porch.com To replace a shower cartridge, it may cost as low as $65 to as high as $220, on average. If you need to replace the entire faucet including the entire valve, the trim, and new handles, prepare to pay more. $531 for labor which the tech admitted would be less than an hour of work. From Home Advisor How Much Do Plumbers Charge? Most charge an hourly rate between $45 to $200 per hour. Most licensed professionals run anywhere from $80 to $130 $942 total...for what would be about an hour job Even better...they could save you money by joining a "club". I didn't bother to get that pricing. I have attached the quote, their bill and the plumber's bill of who ultimately did the service three hours later... For $230!!! I saved $712 by realizing I was being scammed. Even if I am not able to get back the $59 scam...I mean diagnostic fee from ABC, I did myself a service. Now, I hope to do that for everyone else in Tampa Bay. My plumber is in Ruskin named Thomas Flynn. Phone number is 813-777-0558 His website is www.thomasflynn.com
RESPONSE TO Christopher's reply below: Mar 20, 2024 "Thank you, Adriana for sharing your feedback. It is disappointing to hear that I was unable to address, explain and resolve your concerns. When I spoke with you it was established, at that time, that our pricing structure is flat rate and we do not itemize. We also provided you with an invoice that reflected the work performed. Also, a credit was sent to our management team to be applied based on your approval of the amount that you and I agreed on. Should you have any other questions or concerns regarding this service please call me at (888)875-9218 or email at customerexperience@4abc.com. Have a wonderful day." FIRST, I did not agree on the new invoice. You spoke over me and didn't allow me to get a word in. When you said someone from the office would be sending me the new invoice, I said OK. Not OK to the amount. When Melanie called me to go over the invoice she did the same and I specifically told her I did not agree with the revised invoice, but to send it anyway so I can forward it to my legal advocate at the Veterans Administration. SECOND, At NO TIME did the tech explain the estimate was a flat rate whether he performed the work or not. The estimate was to do Option A and then only move on to Option B if Option A did not work. He never said I will be invoiced for both options even if he didn't have to do them both. Who in their right mind would even agree to something like that? I believe I was purposely misled in the whole process. Maybe because I was a woman alone or because I spoke Spanish or just because it's your regular practice to do so. Either way, it's shady and clearly unethical. Thank you.
Needed a needed a new toilet installed for my home and relied upon "2021 Pinellas County Florida Five Star Rated" by Home Services Review for a vetted plumber. ABC was among the list of recommended plumbers in the area. I'm not sure who vetted them, but they are unethical. Plumber came to my house and offered me multiple options, all of which were very expensive. We agreed upon ABC installing a specific toilet that it would provide for $1,035. (This was the discounted price!) The installation was to take place the next day. The plumber didn't arrive, nor did he call, the next day. I called ABC and they did nothing. The plumber didn't arrive the next day, or the day after. It took FIVE DAYS for the plumber to arrive with NO TOILET. At this point, my family and I were desperate to solve this issue. ABC and I verbally agreed that I would purchase a toilet for the plumber to install. Plumber finally arrived, installed the toilet and told me after the installation that the adjusted price would be $677. This was not an agreed upon price; it was adjusted based on what ABC thought was appropriate. This was not on the contract. And what ABC charges is not in line with what multiple other plumbers (including Lowe's toilet installation) have quoted me. ABC is predatory. They prey on seniors who rely on vetted services from Home Services Review. If Home Services Review had actually "done the research," they would see that dozens of Florida residents have been scammed by ABC. DO NOT USE ABC. They rely on customers not understanding what their rights are and use unethical tactics and intimidation to get more than what is fair market value for the services they provide.
Taking advantage of disabled people. That should be their slogan. We called this company to help us with our A/C because we had a carrier credit card. The rep came out and gave us options to partially replace or replace full system. The prices were so high compared to everyone else we decided to just do a partial replacement. Which was as much as other company's to replace the whole system. But we were stuck because we didn't have the cash and had to use the card that they accepted. I made a big mistake by telling them how much available credit we had and low and behold the amount of the fix was exactly that amount. Which was way to much. That night the rep was in our home we were hot and he was trying to contact his manager Justin and he wouldn't pick up because he was eating dinner. So the rep came back the next day to move forward with paperwork and that put us out 4 more days in the heat before installation . Here comes the bait and switch. When he came back his story changed and we went from getting a 2 ton coil and compressor to a 1.5 ton compressor and 2 ton coil And when I questioned him he said that this is what he could do and that it would work. So we were hot and desperate and they knew it. My wife has MS and is very sensitive to heat and stress So we were stuck and they knew it and they took advantage of a disabled person. The system has not worked properly since it was installed and they have sent out technicians that keep contradicting the last one that was here to fix it. One technician last night said they need to match the tonnage and they just won't do it. And the manager Justin will not return our call, send us a receipt.
