Ignacio did a fantastic job. I had a clogged toilet and it ended up being a much more complicated, longer job than either of us anticipated. He was calm, patient, and went through everything methodically and made sure the issue was fully resolved. The pricing was extremely reasonable. I used Wizard for a prior emergency leak/install and will do so again. They are responsive, well-priced, and everyone I have worked with is very professional.
Wizard plumbing is an honest company that stands by their work and I can't recommend them enough. It's scary trusting a plumbing company - this is one you can trust 100%. I had wizard plumbing out to my house to fix a broken sewage line almost two years ago. Their work was great and it was an overall great experience. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I needed to get a sewer lateral inspection with the city and my inspection failed. The company that did the sewer inspection basically said that whatever plumbing company I used would find a way to get out of the warranty they gave me, as most are untrustworthy like that. NOT WIZARD PLUMBING! Wizard plumbing stood by their warranty and went above and beyond to help me. They fixed the warranty issue and helped me get my building permit with the city. I can't imaging a better experience and I'm very grateful for their integrity and work. I will never use another plumber. Thank you Brian and Wizard plumbing!
Very happy with the service from Jonathan. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and fixed my bathroom plumbing problem quickly! I will definitely use them again.
Stay away from them!!! A plumber was dispatched to my residence to address a clog on Oct 29. Despite attempting to resolve the issue with a drain snake, the blockage could not be cleared. Before starting his work I confirmed with the plumber if the clog is not fixed he would not charge me. As the agreed-upon service was not successfully completed, the plumber went without getting paid. The plumbing company is now demanding payment in December and has threatened to place a lien.
This is the second time that I reached out to this company. First time all went well (2 months ago) but this time, sadly, our experience was very different. I called in the morning and was told that someone would arrive between 12pm-2pm, I waited...and waited...then I called them to follow up and was told that they were very busy. I ended up just canceling the service at almost 6pm. I understand they might be busy, but I should not be the one following up with them. Hopefully management will get the hint with so many negative reviews from other clients.
I have used them a few times over the years. It's a fairly large company with several employees and it seems like your satisfaction will depend on who they send. This is a consolidated review of my 3 separate interactions with them over the last ~5 years. 1. I wanted my landscape drain hydro-jetted because those pipes are not as sturdy as a sewer pipe. I couldn't get hydro-jetting from small plumbing companies as it is a heavy equipment that comes in a trailer, and small companies don't have them. They didn't want to give a quote over the phone. OK. They came and quoted $650 and said that they will throw in a camera inspection for free. Won't they need to do a camera inspection as part of the free estimate anyway?! That felt weird to me. I didn't want to argue over that and went with the job. It was done satisfactorily. 2. Needed to replace the house sewer line. Clog identified by another small company that does not do replacement. We were told that we had "Orangeburg" pipe and that was cracked. Got a couple of quotes, all roughly the same ($14,000). We choose Wizard. Work was done satisfactorily through trenchless pipe-bursting. The crew did this well, and put all the landscaping back as if nothing was done there. This was a good experience. 3. This one was a bad experience. I think it was the 2021-2022 rain season when there were heavy rains with atmospheric rivers. Backyard flooded and the landscape drain could not keep up. The same pipe that was hydro-jetted a few of years before. Wizard was the first company I contacted in Fall before the next rain season. The person did a camera inspection. He showed me that the pipe was broken on the camera. Pipe camera is not easy to understand for inexperienced eyes like mine. I could see that the pipe was not in a single piece where he showed me. He recommended pipe-bursting to replace the pipe that drains to the street. Quote was $9,000 for replacing the drain pipe, fixing up the sidewalk that they would have to dig up to pull the new pipe from, and hydro-jet all the french drains in the backyard that feed into the drain pipe. I called Pipe-Thru Trenchless Plumbing for another opinion and estimate. He did a camera inspection of the drain pipe and said that he had not seen a pipe in better condition!!! What about the crack that Wizard showed me on the camera?! Oh, that's a tee where the roof downspout connects to the drain pipe! Further he told me that, if I were to replace the pipe he would recommend against pipe-bursting (which Wizard estimator had recommended), because the drain pipe is too shallow and goes under concrete patio. Pipe-bursting could bust up the patio. He recommended pipe lining inside the existing pipe, if there are cracks. His final estimate was $0, no work needed. Why did the backyard flood then? Large yard, super heavy rains and a single drain couldn't handle it, and there is a small dip in the middle. If I had let Wizard do the pipe-bursting the downspout would not be connected to the drain anymore!! A few days later I received a text message from Wizard Customer Care Representative, Andrew F. Jr., reminding me about the $9000 quote and whether I wanted to proceed. I replied back politely with my experience and what the other company told me. There was no response from Wizard.
No NO NO DO NOT USE THESE GUYS DO not USE they TELL YOU AND MAKE IT SOUND GOOD TO WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING. SELLING A FERRARI BUT WHAT YOU GET IS BODY OF KIT CAR FERRARI AND 1972 SUPER BEETLE WHAT IS CHARGED DOESN'T MATCH WHAT THEY DID THEY CHARGE 80 HOURS AND REALITY KNOWING IT WILL BE 15 HOURS. IT'S NOTHING BUT A RIP OFF NEEDED THEM TO FINISH WHAT THERE EMPLOYEE STARTED WAS SNAKE OUT PIPE SO THAT I COULD THINK ABOUT NEXT PHASE WHAT TO DO AS WHAT HE SAW GIVING ME TIME TO THINK AND GET FUNDS TO REPLACE THE HORIZONTAL SEWER PIPE 40 TO 50 FT. I tall him hey mr supervisor.( coming in hot) that is his nickname you needs to walk me through this estimate. I say you need to justify this cost and explain work. Screen fades out 3 times while explaining i ask how many days how many guys to do this job he asks for signature it fades out again he taps i sign before it fades. He says 3 guys 3 days 8 hour days. He asks for 2nd sig it fades out again pops up i sign again. I am frustrated thinking ok maybe it does justify cost. I then need to tell him to send me estimate so I can read it better. Doesn't give me business card don't know name. He says he will send it to such and such mail. Wife's email she was at work didn't see it when she started.i am waiting for call like we discussed when they would arrive. I get text from wife 11 and 12. They will arrive. $1,830.87 to replace leaking bathroom faucet. Had owner, who is a gravely disabled senior sign contract before starting work. Owner is not able to understand what was being proposed. Relative called about cost. They will not budge. Invoice follows * Angle Stops: These are the small valves under the sink connected to the water supply. Turn both the hot and cold angle stop valves clockwise to shut off the water. If they don't turn off properly, you may need to shut off the main water supply. * Open the faucet to relieve any pressure and let the remaining water drain. Step 2: Disconnect the Water Lines * Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts connecting the water supply lines to the faucet and the angle stops. * Have a towel or bucket handy to catch any residual water. Step 3: Remove the Old Faucet * Underneath the sink, use a basin wrench to loosen and remove the nuts holding the faucet in place. * Once the nuts are removed, lift the old faucet from the sink. Step 4: Replace the Angle Stops * Use a wrench to remove the old angle stops by unscrewing them from the water supply pipes. * Wrap the threads of the new angle stops with plumber's tape to ensure a tight seal, then screw them onto the water supply lines. Step 5: Install the New Faucet * Place the new faucet into the sink holes, making sure it is aligned correctly. * From underneath the sink, screw on the mounting nuts to hold the faucet in place. Tighten them with a basin wrench. * Apply silicone sealant or plumber's putty under the faucet base if required by the manufacturer to prevent water from seeping under the faucet. Step 6: Connect the Water Supply Lines * Attach the water supply lines to the new faucet and the new angle stops. Hand-tighten them first, then use a wrench to snug them up. Step 7: Turn the Water Back On * Open the angle stops slowly to restore water flow. Check for any leaks around the faucet and the angle stops. * Tighten any connections if necessary. Step 8: Test the Faucet * Turn on the faucet and check the water pressure. Ensure that both hot and cold water are functioning correctly. Once everything is in place and there are no leaks, you're done! Let me know if you need more details on any of these steps. Generally we use wizard plumbing. Never had a bad experience until recently. We had a leaking faucet. I called, and asked for the earliest availability and someone was sent out the next day. When I called, I said our faucet hose is broken and needs to be replaced. I knew the brand of our faucet, and the problem. So that's the backstory. They send someone out, he comes out and says it's going to be $350 to diagnose the issue( again, I knew the issue) but if that's their rate I'm not going to fight it. He proceeded to tell me that my faucet is dated and parts are unavailable. Also that our shut off knobs don't shut all the way and need to be replaced. I said I don't think that an issue as we've never had a leak prior and maybe the water he heard running was the dishwasher that was going. He called a few plumbing stores, said we couldn't get a replacement hose as they don't exist. I do have text message proof- and that we needed to buy a new faucet. Okay cool. I agreed. He said the turn around time was 3 weeks with the possibility to be sooner. He said he'd send a photo of the new faucet so I could approve before purchasing. Mind you our sink is leaking. So 3 weeks isn't a quick solution. Now it's about 5pm, assume he's off for the day, and decide to chat with the manufacturer of the faucet. Right away, I send him a photo- and he says that hose is xyz, it's available and here's a discount code. HONESTLY not even 3 minutes into a chat and the hose is available. Then he proceeds to tell me, guy plumbing has it in stock, and I should call them. I call guy plumbing- they have the part, they schedule an appointment for early the next morning. They show up and within 15 minutes the leaking hose has been replaced. Nothing is leaking, the shut off valves work fine- and ultimately in less time and money to FIX THE PROBLEM than the diagnostic charge from Wizard. This hasn't been my previous experiences with wizard but if this the nonsense they're sending out, upcharging clients and lying- I'll happily take my business to honest, quick and far cheaper places like GUY. So after 1000s of gallons of water wasted. The problem is solved and we won't be using wizard again.
Save yourself the $$$$ and hassle and just call a different plumber, I cannot recommend Wizard Plumbing AT ALL :( Called them out on a Sunday evening for an emergency main drain line blockage in my home, after 3 hours onsite with a drain snake they couldn't solve the issue (hard blockage) and said they needed to come back first thing Monday morning to use a camera scope and then excavate the blocked pipe. We were left WITHOUT a functioning toilet or shower in a 1-bath house (and paid $975 for the sunday visit) (the plumber who showed up was nice, the only positive aspect of this experience) Called them back Monday morning when no one showed up at the designated time and was told my appointment had been moved to the afternoon without anyone notifying me, even though they were aware this was an emergency issue. They had no explanation for why my appointment was moved and no idea why i was told they'd show up in the morning. Horrible communication and customer service! I had to scramble to find a different emergency plumber who could show up in the morning, after I found someone else, Wizards plumber called me to say they were at my house ready to work. I told them they were already fired and that I'd found someone else to do the work. So Wizards is incapable of communicating with their customers AND their own employees! The best (worst?) part of all of this is that my replacement plumber was able to actually resolve and fix the issue with just a drain snake in 20 minutes, no camera scoping or expensive pipe excavation required!! Had I let Wizards continue with the service call they would've been excavating my yard and tearing up the floorboards in my house for NO REASON AT ALL!! Do not use this company, just call Roto-Rooter instead!
This is the second time I've used Wizard. First time was for landscape drainage to prevent (more) flooding in my house. They were excellent then, and this visit today was even better. Sewer main was backing up and I figured to get ahead before it was completely stopped up. My call was immediately answered by a real person. An appointment was scheduled for within 2 hours, earlier if they could get someone. About 90 minutes later Joe showed up. I showed him where the clean out was and stood by in case he needed an extra pair of hands. Joe went right to work. The job turned out to be more difficult than expected. We called in Max, the regional supervisor to "camera" the line (at no additional expense!) Unfortunately the blockage was much more severe than originally thought. We needed to hydro-jet the line. When Max showed me the camera video I could see we had temporarily dodged a bullet. We did complete the hydro-jet. The line is now clear and we have decisions to make about our plumbing future in a 70 year old house. I really dislike paying for home maintenance or repairs that I think I can do myself. But the professionalism and the technology used convinced me I was in over my head. Joe, Max, and the two techs whose names I did not get ( they run the hydro-jet machinery) were the best! Clear explanations about what was happening and why. Really clear explanations of what our options are going forward, and excellent communication on the prices charged today and any potential projects in the future. A really great experience for a literally poopy problem. I will ALWAYS recommend Wizard in general, and Joe and Max specifically. Well done guys!
My experience with Wizard was less satisfactory than other reviews. I knew tree roots kept growing back to the main sewer line but managed to use it by snaking it every a few years without the replacement. At last it was clogged again and I decided to replace it. Wizard was hired to unclog the drain and to provide a proposal. The person finished snaking much faster than other plumbers I used before. I was alarmed and asked if he cleaned the sewer line thoroughly. He said he did and would guarantee his workmanship for 3 months. Then he was eager to provide a proposal for replacing the sewer. However, he completely misunderstood the layout of the drain pipes and gave an over-priced quote. After I told him he didn't understand where the pipes were correctly, he insisted he was right. I just let him go since a few other plumbers would come for a quote. One of the plumbers later lowed a video camera to the drain. I was surprised to see that the "workmanship" of that Wizard guy. The roots did fill the pipe section. He did as little as possible and managed to punch a hole with the size of 1/8 of the pipe section through the roots. I let it go sine I was replacing the sewer line anyway. However, I would not recommend Wizard or use them .
We hired Wizard to replace our sewer lateral in 2018 and it worked fine for 5 years. Fast forward to 2023 when we started a large home renovation that required we provide the city with a video inspection as a condition for our renovation permit. It failed inspection. There was a sag in the pipe and standing water visible, the connection to the city main was not replaced as it should have been, nor was a clean out installed as required by code. It would need to be dug up and replaced. I called them out to discuss it and they were at first pledging to replace it at no cost. The technician who did the job was known to them to have overseen subpar installations and no longer worked there. They had been "cleaning up" his work for a while, I was told. More people came out, a second video inspection was performed and also failed to pass. Since then, no one seems to want to talk to me. I've made many calls over the course of the past 6-8 months. They have great reviews on yelp so I was hopeful they would stand by their work and honor their reputation. Doesn't look to be the case. Consider this in your evaluation when hiring a plumber who will do the job correctly and stand by their work.
Later update: please check recent reviews. Apparently, my experience is fairly common recently. Do your diligence and check... something has changed at wizard.... The joy of having children around is having clogged toilets often... here I am again trying to fix a clogged toilet on early Friday morning. Called in the morning at 7:30am and was told someone would be here between noon and 3pm. They also mentioned that they are now having a membership program that the technician could explain to me live. The technician would reach out to me to confirm exact timing. About 2pm. No communication yet. I called again. They mentioned they would follow up. Past 3pm, someone called and apologized. They were so busy that they can't find anyone for a small job. Realistically, they can have someone over on Sunday or Monday morning. To fix a clogged toilet, it takes less than 30 min. I thanked him, hang up and called another company. Someone showed up within an hour, fixed my toilet nice and clean and charge me about the same price. I am not sure whether the membership program is now the main driver for the insane delay, or the scale of my job is the problem. Just to share the experience here.
Our family has a duplex property in Trust and we had to address a leaking water heater that needed to be replaced in January by Jose J., and most recently a property inspection report in addition to a PGE inspection report that resulted in an additional repair to 1 unit and a new water heater replacement to the second unit with repairs done by Kevin G. I also had the pleasure of meeting Jose S., The Field Supervisor who was present and making sure that the PGE inspection report item and the health and safety items in the property inspection report were completed. The quality of work was outstanding. Kevin promptly arrived at the beginning of the 4 hour window, spent the whole day at the property thoroughly and completely addressing the jobs on both units. He was so knowledgeable, polite and respectful. The pricing was current market value plus a 1 year warranty. I did need some revisions with the description of work done at the request of our realtor and Jose S went ABOVE and BEYOND to promptly revise our paperwork. Wizard Plumbing and Drain has provided us with many years of continued high quality plumbing services and excellent customer service. Thank you!
