Westcoast plumbing have the best customer service I have seen. My house backed up all over, I called another plumbing company they came stayed about 3 hours doing hydro flush snake and it wouldn’t open with them. I ended up calling Westcoast plumbing service out of fremont. They sent there crew In less than an hour. Very professional clean and got the job done. Opened up the sewer line and found also a broken sewer line. Monday they will be coming back and give me a estimate for the repair. Great job 👏 and it all comes back to the way the crew is trained. 5 stars all day. Highly recommend them.
We had a sink practically falling off the wall. The water was off in the house. Called West Coast Plumbing, Frank was the plumber. Even though he was busy he made time In between two jobs to keep our sink from hitting the floor. He was an excellent plumber did a great job and I recommend him highly
We have called Westcoast Plumbing for different plumbing issues in our home. Each and every time, the service they provided was the best service we have even gotten. They came within an hour of our call today and it was greatly appreciated. They are honest and respectful of the property. I will continue to use them and I would highly recommend them. Great job guys! Thank you.
This is a crooked operation. They work with property managers to inflate the estimate by doing work which is not necessary: 1) tenant reported leaks from upstairs tub/ WCP wanted to saw out the drywall and look at the drain. Turned out the upstairs tub was not caulked properly. 7$ tube of caulk vs a 3k repair job. 2) water heater leaking in dual water heater system. They wanted to replace both of them instead of replacing the leaking WH. Their price was 30% higher than market for replacement of 1 heater and it wasn't done to code. 3) cast iron leak in garage from upstairs unit. They cut out the cast iron and spliced in ABS. Turns out this doesn't pass fire code. Had to redo.
I needed a new sewer system because roots were growing into my sewer. Pierre gave me the middle price out of three bids. There was something I didn't like about the lowest bid, so I went with Pierre. They did a trenchless sewer replacement, but there were two minor problems and one HUGE problem. A year after the job, my plumbing backed up and a different plumber said I had roots in my sewer. I asked how this was possible and he told me that the new sewer only went from the clear out to the street. Pierre left a two-foot section between my house and the clear out that HE DIDN'T REPLACE! I called Pierre, and he told me that the job that I signed up for didn't include that section. I told him that I specifically asked for the entire sewer to be replaced and it didn't make sense to replace 90% of the sewer only to allow roots to block the entire system near the house. He said he would come by and try to give me a deal to replace the remaining part of the sewer. He never did. The two minor problems aren't worth mentioning. The reason that I gave him 2 stars instead of one is because a couple of months after the sewer replacement (before I knew he didn't complete the job I wanted) his crew replaced a water heater and they did a good job. The price was a tad higher than it should have been, but they did a good job with that. I'm writing this right now while I wait for another plumber to snake the sewer. Another waste of money. EDIT TO ADD: After the owner LIED just now below this comment, I have to respond. The job was NOT supposed to be from the street to the clearout!!!! It was supposed to be from the street TO THE HOUSE!!!!! Yes, I'm complaining about it a year later because I only found out a year later that you DIDN'T DO THE ENTIRE JOB! Very shady.
We have used West Coast Plumbing over the last few years on several occasions. We were happy with them initially -- specially our first big project -- the installation of a tankless water heater which cost us about $4200. Thereafter, on a couple of occasions, we had some minor concerns with their work but we decided to overlook it. Recently our sewage was backing up into the bathroom shower. Westcoast sent Zezo over. Zezo worked hard to clear the blockage using the manual snake but he could not clear it up. He said they needed to send a camera down and locate the source of the backup. So the next day they sent Daniel over but without the camera. Daniel used a electric snake which is longer than the manual one. Since the cleanout outside the bathroom in the backyard was open, the backup drained out of the cleanout. Because the backup from the bathroom drained out, we thought the blockage was cleared but we didn't know that the source of the blockage was not located or cleared. Daniel said for now the problem was fixed but to really fix it, we needed to change the "cast iron" main sewer line leading to the city sewer. He called the office and gave us a quote of $10,000 with a $1000 discount for being a long term customer. We were told that at least for the time being, the blockage was cleared but to really solve the problem, we needed to spend $10,000 and reinstall the main sewer line. No camera was used to locate the source of the blockage or the location of the sewer line. We thought that the blockage was fixed for the time being so we paid the $475 fee. Two days later, on a Friday morning, we saw that the bathroom was backed up again. We called Westcoast to send someone over. At this point, we were resigned to the prospect of having to redo the main sewer line at a cost of $10,000! We called Danya to send someone over but she said she could send someone only on Monday. My husband was recovering from a surgery and we would be without a bathroom for the entire weekend. We were really frustrated that they would not prioritize this job -- nearly a week after the original problem. As it happens, it was fortunate that Westcoast could not send someone over the weekend. It would have cost us $8500! We didn't want to wait through the weekend, so we called Active Plumbing who sent two employees within an hour. Right away, they used a camera and located the source of the blockage. We were shocked to find out our sewer lines run in the middle of our driveway and not in front of the house like we were told. The pipes were ABS pipes in good condition and not "cast iron" like we were told. They installed a new cleanout outside the garage on the driveway and the power snake cleared the blockage easily. No roots or anything! We were able to observe the entire length of the sewer line on the camera. Two men worked all day and fixed the problem and charged us $1500. We can't believe West Coast gave us a quote without running a camera, or seeing the condition of the pipes, or the location of the sewer line to gauge the difficulty of the job, or without knowing the source or nature of the blockage. We contacted Danya and informed her that since they did not clear the blockage, I expected to be refunded at least 50% of the charges. She said she would speak with Pierre and get back to me. I also wrote them an email but we never heard back from them. Thinking back, when we used West Coast plumbing to fix a leak in the crawl space area two years ago, they told us we needed to replace the entire plumbing under the house. We did that at a cost of about $5,000! They never showed us the corroded pipes. Now we are wondering if we were scammed into changing all the plumbing! I think West Coast has grown too big and they don't care about their customers like they used to. I have never written a bad yelp review before and it saddens me to have to write this one.
After I washed my clothes in our washer, I noticed a puddle of water on the ground. I ignored it for a while but whenever I wash my clothes, the puddle will reappear. I finally convinced my husband that we need our washer to be repaired. So I called an appliance repair company and they told me that it's a plumbing issue. After that technician left, I called my company's handyman to see if he can help me out. He came over and cut a piece of sheet rock around the pipes that connects to the washer. He told me that the pipes are clogged and I should call a plumber instead. Originally, I called the plumbing company that helped me with a previous plumbing issue but they no longer work on Saturdays. So I went on Yelp to find another plumber. I called a few companies and settled for this one because they told me that their examine the problem and give me a fixed price. I know plumbers charge by the hour but I just don't like surprises when it comes to expenses so I was quite happy that they provided me with a fixed amount. The following Saturday, someone came by our home to take a look at our pipes and he realized that it's a bigger problem than he thought. I was immediately given a quote and was told that if I want them to do the work, call them to schedule an appointment. After discussing the costs with my husband, we decided to use them. On the day of repair, two guys showed up. One guy ended up going underneath our home to replace the pipes. A couple hours later, we were told that the work is done but they left a fan underneath our home to run a few days so that the puddle of water would dry up. About 2 days later, one of the plumbers was supposed to come by our home to pick up their fan. We told them to come in the morning by a certain time because my husband had to leave for work. Unfortunately, the plumber was stuck in traffic so my husband told him to come by the next day instead. Overall, we're really happy with the service. It's been a few months now and there are no leaks. However, I do notice that when the washer is on, the sound of the water running is pretty loud. I noticed this since the first day after it's been fixed. This review is a couple months overdue. I don't even remember the names of the plumbers that came to my home.
So after a very difficult time of dealing with major home plumbing issues I wanted to leave this review. Having a major sewer line issue, I had a plumber from my area do some work at what I felt was an outrageous price, but needed to get my home services back online, so I paid for the initial work. After regrouping and questioning the outrageous price I was quoted for all the work I needed, I was able to contact Westcoast Plumbing Service. I called this company after getting a recommendation from someone that lived in the East Bay, but knew they covered my area too. I really wish I would have contacted them to begin with. First and foremost, the main guy that handled my work, Daniel, was absolutely fantastic! Daniel was up front and kept me in the loop on everything that was going on every step of the way. He is such a nice guy, not to mention how hard him and Francisco worked on my job to get things done, and done right. So after they busted their butts to get my house sewer lines replaced, they went to work on the main line in the front yard. They worked through the horrible rain that we have been having lately to get me back up again. Also, many plumbing companies may tell you they will leave your place looking like it was when they started, but Westcoast Plumbing Service really means it. They have taken care of just about everything and let me see with my own eyes that things are working properly, which is more than any of the plumbers I have dealt with in the past. The biggest things for me are that the job is done right and the price is fair. The equipment they used and keeping me in the loop on their work all along the way showed me they were doing things right. Having worked with other area plumbers and getting an initial estimate for this same work from another company, Westcoast Plumbing Service quoted me a fair price. I have neighbors that have dealt with the same issues that paid outrageous prices to area plumbers, so I know Westcoast did me right. I hope I never have issues with my plumbing again, but If I do I am confident I only have to make one call now to Westcoast Plumbing service and I would recommend you do the same.
Do NOT use this company, even if you had good experiences with them before! I've used WestCoast Plumbing a few times over the last few years. One major project (replacing the main pipe going into the house) and other small ones (unclogging the main pipe going out of the house). The owner, Pierre, came over the first time (major project) and second time (unclogging the pipe). We were very happy with the service and even left a good review. The third time (2-3 years ago), he sent someone over instead, the person didn't seem to be that knowledgable but still did the job. This time around, I was extremely disappointed. Last week, the pipe was clogged again and I needed someone to fix it right away, they came within 20 minutes which as great (so I thought!). But the guys who came could barely speak English and they could not answer any of my questions as simple as how much it is going to cost. (They started the work before letting me know how much they are going to charge me!) After they finished the work, one of the guys thought I was a tenant, and said to not worry that they would send a bill to the landlord! I was really mad and insisted on paying on the spot (they did not even issue a receipt after I requested for one!) to avoid any surprises. 4 days later, my pipe was clogged again. When I requested for Pierre, the assistant said that he doesn't do "field work" anymore. They sent another two guys, and they found big roots clogging up the pipe. They wanted to charge me another $250 just to inspect the pipes with a camera! How was that not found the first time around?! I asked more about the issue and how much time it will take to fix it, and they could not give me ANY answer and wanted me to call the assistant who is not physically here for more information. I felt scammed and I don't feel comfortable working with them anymore. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I even recommended them to quite a few friends in the past, I will have to let my friends know to look for someone else now. I have never had such a bad experience with any house-related service before.
I don't get it. I called for an appointment about my main shutoff valve being stuck (I cannot turn off the house water to fix a dripping faucet). A friendly woman answered the phone right away, and she checked with someone who said the valve may need to be replaced. I specifically indicated it was the main shutoff valve for the house AFTER the water meter. OK, I was kind of expecting this may cost me some money, but I needed it fixed. Not an emergency, just wanted to have a working valve. I get an appointment for the next morning at 8-9. Very happy it was that early as I have to work right afterwords. Technician arrives shortly after 8 (nice), and I show him the valve and the problem. I said it was stuck and I cannot turn it off, and the valve may need to be fixed/replaced. He didn't even take a look at the valve closely, but right away said he didn't want to try to close the valve because if it broke he would be liable! But ... that's why I wanted a plumber to fix the valve! He called his manager (the owner?) and said no they would not do it. He said I have to call the City to get it turned off. But I pointed out this is the valve AFTER the meter, not the city's problem. He left. I really don't get this. Was he trying to say I have to get the city to shut off the water valve so he can fixed it? No, that isn't what he said. He seemed to be saying I needed to call the city to turn off the water whenever I need it turned off? But that's not fixing the problem, just ignoring it. They have all sorts of pictures on their web site installing pipes underground on much more complex jobs than my simple stuck valve, so I was comfortable they knew what they were doing. I managed to fix the faucet myself anyway, so the pressure is off. I still can't control the main valve properly, and need someone to fix it. Obviously this company won't do it so I will have to try someone else I guess (sigh). I'm giving two stars for prompt service and good communication, but I don't think I can recommend them.
I'm not the typical yelper who writes reviews. However given the experience I had with WestCoast Plumbing Service, I decided to share my thoughts. I recently bought a house and as part of inspection knew that some leaks needed to be fixed. Unfortunately, the local handyman spent 2 days and was unable to get the job done. Yelp to the rescue. I contacted 3 plumbing companies in the neighborhood. IMHO plumbing companies are like dentists. You don't want to see them; but when you do need one, they should be available in a reasonable time, trustworthy and cost efficient. Pierre promised to come right away the next day and take a look at the problem. The other 2 companies gave me an appt 2 days away and hence did not go with them. The next morning, Selva (Pierre's right hand guy) came and took a look at the problem. He explained what was the issue and gave me 2 options 1) Do the fix but since the pipes were old; it could occur again 2) re pipe the whole house with copper. Although 2) was more expensive I went with it and Pierre and team completed the work within a day as promised. Bonus points especially since handy men are notorious for not meeting their time estimates. A few weeks later I needed a section of the drain pipe and also the faucet in my kitchen replaced. Pierre was right there to take care of both issues. I would highly recommend Pierre because 1) He is always present to guide his team. Although he is the owner; he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. 2) Explains the problem clearly and provides a reasonable quote. 3) Is available and responds promptly in case of emergency. Hoping I don't have any more issues; but if I do then WestCoast Plumbing Service is my choice
There is never a good time for a plumbing emergency but right after Christmas is a rotten time. I got a faint smell of gas just before lunch and called PG&E as per their guidelines. By the time the PG&E tech came, it was 7PM. By this time, the gas smell was very strong and could be had from 10 metres away. The technician checked and confirmed a severe leak and pointed to a section of the pipe under concrete. The next morning, I searched online and called 5 plumbing companies, all with high ratings. Pierre was one of 3 who actually answered the phone. I explained the problem and he agreed to come right away. The other 2 who answered the phones said that they would not be able to come to evaluate till later in the day. I left voice mails for the last 2 but they never returned my calls. Pierre arrived in about an hour with a worker. They carefully re-checked every thing to confirm the PG&E tech's findings. Pierre said he could start the work the next morning since he was engaged that day. He said that it would take the whole day. He gave me a quote and I gave him the job straight away. Normally I would wait for 3 quotes (I had no idea what such a job would reasonably cost) but since Pierre was willing to attend to my emergency immediately, I went with him. Someone I spoke to later told me that Pierre's quote was very reasonable. The next morning, his workers came punctually. They did a very good job, breaking the concrete and replacing the leaking pipe and filling it with concrete. They showed me the old pipe which was cracked and had poor insulation. Pierre will be first on my list if (God forbid) I have any plumbing issues. Top notch customer service and professionalism.
Issue: A copper pipe leak in my crawl space Likes: - I was able to get a plumber come in the same day I called - life saver! - Troubleshooted and promptly figured out the source of the leak. The plumber seemed to know what he was doing (although didn't speak English well). - The leak was not easy to get to, given there were several ducts in that same area. So the plumber worked with me to figure out less intrusive ways to get to the leak and fix it. - Fixed the leak promptly. - Charged very reasonably for the service they provided Minor Dislikes: - It was a little hard to communicate with the plumber, especially while discussing least intrusive ways to get to the leak - So finally, to get to the leak, he cut a big hole in the stand underneath the water heater in the garage, and also another in the drywall in the garage wall. Which was great! But he was ready to walk away with a gaping hole in the wall after he was done! - After talking to Pierre (owner), the plumber agreed to come back after a week to close the hole. However, had to call several times for somebody to come back after a few weeks passed by. - But the guys who showed up (different from the plumber who fixed the leak) didn't seem to know what they were doing. They were flip flopping on what needed to be done.. So I called Pierre, who thankfully showed up promptly, asked these guys to clear some wet insulation material, close up the hole and we were done. In summary, I would probably call them again since they did an excellent job of actually locating and fixing the leak, at a very reasonable price. But I'm taking off a star since the post-fix experience could have been better..
Our 50 year old home had galvanized water pipe, we needed re-piping. Our neighbor had used Westcoast Plumbing and was satisfied. We contacted them and received a 3 part estimate. The first part was to remove all the galvanized pipe and install copper pipe. The second was to install a new water heater. We agreed to those 2 jobs. The third was to inspect the pipe between the water meter and the house and if it was galvanized, replace it. Pierre arrived with a large crew and looked at the pipe from the house shut-off valve going down under the lawn and declared it to be galvanized and left, never to be seen again. We agreed to digging up the lawn and replacing it with PVC. The crew members were experienced and the water was turned on by 5 PM. However, the pipe under the lawn was in fact very thick plastic! A few days after the work was finished, we noticed a small drip from the shower head and called the office and we expected a visit or call but neither happened. I finally called again and a young man with a uniform and a company truck arrived. I showed him the drip from the shower head and he suggested the problem was with the shower head. While talking with him I learned he was "helping his father, the plumber". He took the cover off the shower valve and took pictures of it with his cell phone and left, never to be seen again. I stopped by Home Depot but they did not have a plumber available to give me advice. I am very glad that my house was re=piped but I can not recommend this company.
Daniel and his working partner did an outstanding job! But let me start at the beginning, please. Late Sunday afternoon - day before a holiday - I find I need a plumber to repair an ice water valve in the wall behind the refrigerator. I call 5 plumbers, 4 I leave a message with, 5th one WESTCOAST PLUMBING I talk with Dania and explain my situation. She books a time for me the next day (holiday) and said she would try to get them here ASAP. True to her word, she called in the morning and said I can get someone earlier and they arrived as she described. Enter Daniel and colleague, and with my description and their inspection, and a phone call for the quote, it is determined I need a new ice maker valve (old one is 30 years old) and codes have changed (yes they work to code) and they found a leak under the house and provided pictures. They quote what I felt was a fair price for parts and labor to replace the valve and put some new copper under the house for $650 for valve and $1250 for all. They worked for a bit over 3 hours. They were VERY knowledgeable, informed me of everything involved, professional, courteous, took great care around kitchen and area, cleaned up afterwards, and were a pleasure to deal with....I could NOT be happier. Will I use them again - ABSOLUTELY! I am so relieved to know that IF (probably when) I have another plumbing need, I know exactly the company to contact!! Recommended, without reservation!!!!!
