Had Trayten come replace a hosebib for us. The one we had before was temporary, started to leak, and not anchored to the wall. He did an awesome job and was super friendly. We've used this company before and would use them again!
This is the 2nd time David Reyes has been to our house to perform repairs. We specifically requested him because he did so good the first time. He did great again today. He is professional, courteous, on time and cleaned up after himself. We will continue to use Valley Plumbing and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
I cannot say enough good things about Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling. JT, Jay, and Austin were absolutely amazing the whole time. They replaced our furnace and AC unit, and in the process discovered that our furnace was leaking carbon monoxide. They immediately made our family’s safety their top priority and worked quickly to make our home safe again. Without them, our family could have run the risk of being seriously harmed by the dangerous carbon monoxide in our home. We truly cannot say thank you enough. They found the leak one afternoon and had a brand-new unit installed the very next day, which was incredible. JT was especially patient and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. He was very genuine in his desire to help our family have a safe, warm, carbon-monoxide-free home. All three technicians were extremely respectful of me, my home, and my family. They even warned me ahead of time if something was going to be extra loud so it wouldn’t scare my baby—which meant so much to me. Jay was so polite and respectful, always addressing me with “Yes, ma’am.” They explained everything clearly, showed me exactly where to look, and gave easy-to-understand descriptions. This made me feel confident both in my understanding and in the quality of their work. I also really appreciated that when I scheduled my first appointment, I received a text confirmation with a photo and personal bio of the technician who would be coming to my home. That level of professionalism and transparency really stood out. They were punctual, showed up exactly when they said they would, and communicated clearly through both text and phone calls. Despite the difficult layout of my home, they handled every challenge with ease and made a complicated job look effortless. Overall, I am incredibly impressed by the honesty, professionalism, and strong moral character of this company. I am seriously considering making cookies to take to their office just to say thank you! You can truly tell this company is run by genuinely good people. I highly recommend Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling.
The good: courteous and clean personnel. Great communication. No charge for estimates. The bad: They sent 2 men when only 1 was needed. The estimate was 1/3 higher than what I ended up paying another company. I knew it was ridiculously high. They also tried to sell me a "VIP membership" for $80 to get a discount on future services. I found all of this to be off-putting, and sent them on their way.
Valley Plumbing charged us $900 a piece for 2 toilet installs at our condo. My wife signed the bill without looking closely. When she got home and saw the totals, she called the company and they said that's what they cost. But after a little research we found we could get those installs for half the price. We were also members of their annual service - you'd think we would have gotten a discount. There's too many other options than Valley Plumbing.
I typically do not leave reviews for companies, but because of my experience with Valley Plumbing and Drain Cleaning, INC. I have created an account just to leave a review. I will never do business with this company again. The only time I will ever call them again is to use them as the ceiling benchmark when comparing quotes from other companies. The focus of the review is the management of this company and NOT the plumber/technician. The plumber/technician performed quality work and was outstanding. TLDR: Plumber/Technician work is outstanding, but management and pricing is not transparent. They WILL NOT provide any breakdown in their quotes or invoice. Valley Plumbing management practices are questionable and shady. They will insert hidden fees that make their services 35%-40% more expensive than other companies in their market and they will mark up their hardware 55-65% from standard market prices. (Calculations explained below) EXPLANATION: My family was looking to have a plumber install/set a toilet as we had issues with a recently installed toilet that was leaking. I called Valley Plumbing for a quote. They scheduler was professional and was able to get a plumber/technician out to our house within 36H. We received the quote, but unfortunately my significant other agreed to go ahead to do the work before I had a chance to review the quote. The work was completed very well and the payment settled. My issue is not with the work, as the plumber/technician did his job very well and was upfront with how he was going to handle everything. However, my issue came up once I saw the invoice/quote provided. With any contracted work, it is standard practice to provide an itemized list for a quote and invoice. I was expecting an itemized list of work so I could provide it to my insurance as proof of work. When I saw the invoice from Valley Plumbing. there was simply a lump sum with simple one line aggregated description of work. I thought initially that was the quote from the field and perhaps their corporate organization could clarify what that lump sum included, so I called their office to ask about the break down, so I could get an itemized list to submit in my claim for insurance. I was told by their scheduler that their mangers were busy and would return my call (very professional and pleasant). Valley Plumbing returned my call within the hour with a "manager" on the line. I explained that I would like an itemized breakdown of services provided and immediately the "manager" said "NO, we don't do that." He then went on a long winded vague rant to try an explain why, which was the following (summarized and paraphrased -it was easy to follow along and see right through the fluff) "Valley Plumbing management moved away a time and materials (T&M) structure to a "simple" flat rate to make it easy for the customer to get a quote to compare, because it is too confusing for the customer to see all the costs of the work to be done. Thus making it easier for us to markup services and material costs." Any way I asked for more details he stone walled my questions, but finally I was able to get a price that they charge for setting a toilet. I thanked him for the plumber's service and hung up the phone. I called 2 other SLC plumbing companies and asked for their cost for setting a toilet. What I found was that both those companies were 35%-45% cheaper. I looked up the toilet that the plumber installed from their provider, I calculated the cost of the toilet from the invoice and found it to have roughly a 55%-65% markup from what is listed at Home Depot and Lowes. I was fine paying the costs as we agreed to the quote for the work. All I wanted was an rough breakdown of the work, which any honest and transparent business would happily provide (if not standard). All I received was a shady impression. Get quotes before you do business with Valley Plumbing.
Valley Plumbing had done some great work for me in the past, but not so much the last couple of times. A month ago Valley installed a toilet flange in a bathroom I'm remodeling. The installation had some problems that I complained about; which amounted to the flange not being properly secured to the concrete floor, as was discussed by the tech and me before work began. Fast forward to today when I need a water heater installed. The price quoted over the phone was $1100.00-$1150.00. The tech's actual quote to install the heater and expansion tank was over $1300.00; $1230.00/$1250.00 (+/-) after discounts of $80.00. When I asked for the quote to break down labor separate from parts I was told that because the plumbers work on a flat rate they could only estimate... which they did. Labor was estimated between $300-$400, which leaves over $800.00-$900.00 to be accounted for in parts. I looked up the retail of the expansion tank: Tank One EF-TET-2 expansion tank - $41.00 (+/-). And the water heater: AO Smith model GCG-50 - $600.00 (+/-). When I called Valley Plumbing out on their prices, and their inability to quote their own work, their dispatcher, Vicki, said that they need to make a profit on the parts... which I agree with. But that profit margin should be the difference between wholesale and retail, not marked up above retail by an additional 23%-25%. When I mentioned this, Vicki immediately recalled their tech, who had already begun work on the removal, because, in Vicki's words, "there was an issue before, and we don't seem to be able to satisfy you as a customer", leaving me high and dry... So instead of trying keep a loyal customer who they had not satisfied previously, they try to hide their inflated prices behind a "flat rate" pricing structure so customers have no idea what they're buying, and then insinuate that it's me who's being unreasonable. I had sung Valley Plumbing's praises to all who asked me about the work I'd had done... looks like some retractions are in order. Facebook, Yelp, Google Reviews... here I come. Well played Valley Plumbing, well played.
I had them install a water heater in 2021. Yesterday I had a error code which was to replace the igniter switch. The technician came out today and instead of doing what they manual said, he called their tech support who said to cut the vent shaft to check if there was any air flow. First off, loosening one screw would have solved cutting the pipe by pulling it off the top of the water heater and check for flow. Then putting it back on and checking outside. But they wanted to run a snake through the pipe, cause unnecessary damage and charge me $500 for diagnosing an issue. Which they would have ruled out is not the issue but needed to then charge for labor to install the faulty igniter assembly as the owner manual said was the issue. I told him its the igniter switch... he said it didn't matter what the owners manual says as "we do what tech support tells us to do." I got a second opinion. they came out no charge, they immediately looked at the troubleshooting page in the owner's manual, and checked venting without cutting the pipe and said it was the igniter switch. They did this all within five minutes. They told me instead of charging the $79 to diagnose that all I needed to do was pay for the labor since the part was under warranty as my water header was installed in 2021. But Valley Plumbing would have been responsible to reinstall it at no charge because they were the ones who installed it to begin with.... They said I had a 6 year warranty on this, but that was a lie... Valley Plumbing wanted to charge me $500 just to diagnose it. The other company total out the door was $260.30 just for labor... Valley plumbing is exploiting their customers and the ignorance that the home owner has because we are not allowed to get the part because we're not licenced plumbers. They want to charge for diagnosis PLUS install labor, then go to the manufacturer and charge them to get a credit getting 5 times the amount for a simple change of an igniter switch. I do not recommend going with this company at all.
I paid $900 for a $300 toilet! I needed two toilets replaced in our condo and it cost me over $2,000! I've never purchased a toilet and it was my fault for not doing my research on the cost of toilets. But, we've used this company a few other times and never thought their service/product costs were unreasonable. I even signed up for a year service contract which I never do. The technicians were friendly and professional and gave me toilet options and prices. I wanted an elongated low flow toilet and they had a low and high priced option. I chose the low priced option. I can't imagine how much the high priced toilet would have been. The day after the installation, I received the invoice and a $900 toilet didn't seem right. I looked up the price of the toilet I got and found the same one at Lowe's for $300! I called the company to ask about the cost and I was told a manager would call me back. Two days later, no one had called me so I called back and talked to a manager. He explained the $900 cost included licensed technicians time, parts (only two extra shut off valves were needed) and a one year warranty. It is a condo so the installation didn't require hauling the toilets around a house and they installed the toilets in an hour and a half! To me, that doesn't justify charging $600 over the price of the toilet. I would have given this company 0 stars, but the technicians were friendly and got the job done. We will NEVER use this company again!
Many THANKS to Valley Plumbing specifically Randal ( this is the second time using Valley Plumbing and Randal coming out to the house). He came to our rescue when we had a issue with what we thought was our bathroom drain. Come to find out water had seeped between the concrete and shower liner/shower bottom. Randal was dispatched to come out and he promptly arrived at the scheduled time with text updates along the way. The cost was very economical and affordable. Randal was extremely informative about what the issue was and how to resolve it. Super professional guy. He explained what our options were and remained approachable and willing to help us get this issue fixed. His assistance really put us at ease with needing to basically remodel our shower and drain. We completely trust his opinion and suggestions. Valley Plumbing only hires the best of the best in our eyes. The service and technician (Randal) far exceeded our expectations. They hire individuals that are experts not only in their field and line of work but also in the fine art of customer service. I would highly recommend using them, we will use them going forward and hope that he is the person available. ***Fast response time*** ***Friendly service*** ***Professional staff*** ***Affordable***
I feel bad that I showed up late. Due to me transferring my new phone. I didn't have a phone to contact randy my technician. Luckily he waited 20 mins and he was so understanding. So my issue was something that when we bought the house mentioned. Inspector said this in his report: Water Lines: Copper/PEX/CPVC - -Water hammering was noted when multiple systems were running at the same time - this is possibly a pressure regulator issue. Pressure drops at systems running with multiple systems running. Recommend further assessment and repair. Basically if both showered were running at the same time no water would come out. Randy came to the rescue! I was able to get my plumbing needs fixed. I will definitely call them again. I will be needing a new water heater (which he and the home inspector both said I would need in the future) and will be calling them to Install. Randy was a great guy he explained everything for me. He gave me a price cut and dry. Which was perfect. I will recommend theses guys for sure. Randy asked if I was happy he would be happy. That was such a great customer service approach. Thank you so much for helping me.
Awesome company had been notified from water company that my water usage was out of control check for leaks so I called 3 plumbing companies the second one too respond was valley plumbing they were able to tell me it was main line and that it would cost this amount i was a week out but they would run temp line .that night they called back said they could come out tomorrow do the whole thing I was yes please the first guy was Justin and another guy Kaden was who wrote estimate both were very professional and honest .the next day all the workers were there right on time probably the best I have ever had doing work on my house . They did exactly what they said they would and with utmost care putting new lines and filling all the holes and putting grass back how it was. Lastly it was less than work thought in estimate and were able to save me quiet a bit money . It's nice to have plumber I can trust for future issues !
Valley Plumbing was a great company to work with. They kept me informed throughout, from the time I made the appointment, to the time their plumber arrived. They even called me when an opening was available a bit earlier; I appreciate that level of customer service. Larry, the plumber who fixed the leak, was extremely professional. He was on time, polite and clean. He accessed the issue, then explained the situation and we discussed price; that's what I paid. No hidden charges. Although his schedule is packed with other clients, he never portrayed that in the job. When I asked questions, he gladly answered. He ensured that I was completely satisfied prior to leaving, which I was. Also, he picked- up and cleaned, ensuring when he left, there was no visible signs anyone had been there working. I'm glad I chose Valley Plumbing; I will continue to utilize them for any future plumbing repairs or installs.
Called and made appointment on a Saturday with Claudia and was able to make an appointment same day between 3-5 pm. ( Bear in mind, I live out of state and this is my rental property) At about 2:30 pm I get a call from a technician named Jon Maciel with an assessment and cost of replacement as the water heater went out.. Talk about quick and early! Jon was very courteous and explained everything in detail that needed to be done. I agreed to the terms and he proceeded with the repair. Within a few hours he called me to notify me he was in the final phase toward completion ( he explained in detail what he had done) and he we would send me pictures of the completed job. I received the pictures and the invoice within minutes. Service like this is hard to find nowadays so thank you Valley Plumbing for employing a great tech and emphasizing great service.
Valley Plumbing did a great job on my project. I had to have an odd-shaped, undermounted sink removed, granite cut, and a new sink (and faucet and garbage disposal) installed. While Valley Plumbing couldn't do everything I needed, Vicki helped me find other contractors and businesses who could. When I called back after more than a month, she remembered me and what I was trying to do. I felt she really cared about me and wanted to help me finish my project. Rob S was the plumber who actually did the work. He offered a free estimate. He came to my house twice and set up his schedule to work around the other contractor so that I would have as little down-time as possible. He did great work and the final bill matched the estimate. All in all, I was so impressed with Valley Plumbing. I will hire them again if I need any services they provide.
