When our water heater broke, our regular HVAC service said our old galvanized water lines were badly corroded and needed to be entirely replaced with copper. We inquired of several firms and Total Underground really came through for us. They were prompt and knowledgeable, got the work done with minimal inconvenience to our household and constantly kept us advised what was being done. Joe, Bill and their crew were positive and helpful throughout. They earned our highest praise!

I was leaving the Bay Area after 30 years and my house was 115 years old. As expected, I failed an inspection required by City of San Mateo's lateral sewer line ordinance (enacted in 2020). I contacted a very large plumbing outfit suggested by my realtor, but they gave me a very large estimate. Later that night, someone recommended Joe at Total Underground Construction (funnily enough it was a Lyft driver who heard my sob story and had a similar experience). Joe assessed the situation and gave me a lower quote with a few contingencies for stuff he couldn't see until excavating. To my surprise, the contingent items weren't necessary and the quote held. Work was performed impeccably and quickly. Permits and all phases were perfectly sequenced, and we passed inspection. Now I can sell the house. Joe is very experienced and a good guy - total pro. If you're ever in this situation, don't stress - just contact this company.

Right away, they came off as two guys who really enjoyed their work. After accepting the project, they took the extra steps to drive out that night to get the sewer line in a passable condition for the few days until the start of the project so we would not be without water and this was all done free of charge with the project. For comparison, other plumbers I've worked with have charged me even for using the camera to look at the line. During the project, they had 4 guys working and were able to complete the sewer line replacement in a single day. On top of all this, their price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend them and would definitely call on them for future plumbing needs.

Sooo liiike... I don't know a damn thing about plumbing. Couldn't tell you how to shut off the water if my life depended on it. All I know is that a person like me who has absolutely no clue about any of that is probably an ideal customer for a greedy tradesmen. However, that was not the case with Total UG. Matter of fact, I called them and explained the problem with my boyfriend's sink. I was expecting a quote, but Joe actually told me exactly what we could do to fix it ourselves with just a cheap tool we could find on Amazon. I was so surprised he did that and yes, it worked like a charm! A few months later when my boyfriend had a water leakage issue in a different bathroom, Joe and his team were a no-brainer! We're in the midst of that right now and it's been smooth sailing. I know we're in good hands... or should I say good pipes? (pause) LOL thanks again Total UG!

I met Joe from Total Underground Construction when my neighbor was having all her pipes replaced. He was friendly and professional. I kept his number just in case I would need help in the future. That day came this week! My landlords handyman had tried to replace my corroded PVC that was leaking. It caused a host of problems with the water pressure in the house. I called Joe and he was at my house within 20 minutes! He was able to fix the problem and explain what was going on with great knowledge. He even followed up the next day to confirm things were back to normal. Highly recommend!!

Total Underground Construction did an Amazing job! They installed a 100 foot pipe, 15 feet down with a 45 degree turn. It was an incredibly huge job. The job was done professionally, fast, efficiently and successfully. Joe and Orlando were professional, helpful and always there to answer my questions. I would not hesitate a second to highly recommend them. You will be so happy to have them do your work for you. They are the BEST!

Joe was up front about cost, schedule, and was careful make sure that the job was truly necessary. His crew was thorough, prompt, and great to interact with. They rolled with some unexpected hiccups on our end. Highly recommended.

Joe and his team were great. We needed a pipe dug out of a concrete driveway in order to clear the sewer line. Joe explained everything and the work was done in one day.
